  1. I keep thinking Silas is the one who kidnapped baby AJ, because he told Kiki that the CPS lady was with the baby, but when we saw the creeper happen upon her, the baby seemed to be alone (and to have delivered the best performance, all week). So, I'm thinking Silas grabbed her to take her to Ava for one last visit, and then to strong-arm Ava into getting a bone marrow transplant from the baby, because why else all the big deal about the blood tests?
  2. Of course, but if my memory serves (and hey, it may well not), Victor only had the one brother (whose name was Alexander). It was sort of him and Justin against the world.
  3. Yeah, he does not excel at writing women. All of these shows need better, female writers. eta... Or at least male writers who like and understand women. Ron clearly does not.
  4. Right? This guy (who is young enough to be Justin's son) is Justin's brother or half-brother. Stupid, stupid Show.
  5. I think the deal is that Sam controls Jason and Danny's shares of ELQ. I don't know how much that is, but it's probably at least somewhat significant. Sam is Nik's cousin. Nik is a successful business man (and a prince) so some other shareholders might be swayed by his takeover pitch. If Jason comes back, he'll regain control of the shares Sam currently wields, and Jason would, of course, be Team Michael. I know this isn't a perfect argument, but I think it's the most we've gotten out of Show. First of all, this is soap opera pharmaceuticals, so there's magic and pixie dust. Beyond that, though, I don't think mixing alcohol and certain drugs always ends up in a blackout. Sometimes, it ends up in aberrant behavior, and that's what (I think) the show is going for, here. When it was allegedly Bill Eckert and Jerry Jacks who wanted the shares, it was clear, the implication was the LoD needed a legitimate outfit, through which to launder their mob money. I have no idea what Helena (or Nik) is (are) up to, except that they've been stuck in a poorly written corporate plot, by someone who has no understanding of how corporations work, because he's a soap hack. No. I too thought he was acting off (even beyond the sneezing), but he didn't seem drunk, so I can understand why Sabrina wouldn't see it that way. I think the ages are all way off, now, thanks to this storyline. The actor who played teen Luke is 18. Okay, I can buy him as 14 or 15 years old. For the sake of my suckiness at math, let's call him 13, in the flashbacks, which occurred in 1963. Were wee killer Luke 13 when he accidentally killed his mother and then murdered his father, that would mean Luke was born in 1950. That would mean today, Luke is 65. I would say Patricia was a couple of years older than Luke, so let's say 67, and Bobbi looked to be about 7 in the flashbacks (I didn't look up the young actress to see how old she was; I'm just guestimating). The actress who plays Valerie is 28. Let's call the Valerie character 25, for reasons. So, yeah, Patricia would have had Valerie, while in her mid 40s. This is one of the easier things for me to accept. Yes, of course, there should have been home visits (with Michael, Sonny, and Kiki), but since Kiki had custody of her sister, until Sonny was pardoned, I don't think it's unusual for CPS to find bio family members who are capable of caring for a child, and who already have a relationship with that child. Sure, Kiki is mooching off Silas, right now, but to CPS, that means she's ready to be a full-time care giver and lives with a respectable, successful person. Also, she would get a stipend for fostering the child. I feel like we just got the shorthand version of the story. THIS! I so want this. Since Kiki is being so loathsome, I want her to go all the way. Screw over Morgan and Sonny, so that you can keep your baby sister away from the man who essentially kidnapped your mother, and who threatened her life at every turn. Then tell Morgan to suck it. They're not going to do this, though, because Kiki had the guilts over poisoning Michael. Suck. Laura Wright is so good in the Carly role, that she makes this otherwise unbearable scold, a pleasure to watch. She was great, today. When she was standing in that doorway, though, I wanted her to tell Sonny to suck it, and clearly stamp herself Team Michael. The Carly who lives in my brain would have done this. She's dishonest, flaky, irresponsible, but she has always been all about Michael (and way more than she has been about her other kids). I tried to coax her to walk out that door, but darn it, she couldn't hear me. Of course. I'm not following. Are you alluding to a spoiler? If so, can you spill in the spoiler thread?
  6. This is so stupid. Do you they were casting for Alex (Sonny's brother), then realized they were crazy to have killed off Paul Telfer's first character so quickly and decided to put him in the role, but thought we wouldn't accept him, because of the accent? Hello, Show. We're the audience that accepted that plastic surgery changed curly haired, shorter, lighter Wayne Northrup into Drake Hogestyn. We later accepted the guy who played Chris Kositchek. We also accepted Northup back as Alex North. What's a little accent hand-waving?
  7. I hope it's the Dante's who is Michael's brother that does the investigating (possibly spurred on by finding out from his own mother, that her bartender only served Michael two drinks and he was perfectly sober when he ordered them).
  8. Yeah. A lot of markets don't get GH until 3:00pm now, so hopefully by then, it will be over for those fans. Here, I expect all the local affiliates will stay on coverage of the trial until the news comes on. Edited to add... Oh, absolutely. I found out, at 1:30, while watching The Chew. I checked the NBC affiliate and they did the same thing. I expect no less, particularly here. But it was silly they didn't stay on the shows (well, at least DOOL) until 1:45.
  9. Just a note, if you watch GH on the Boston affiliate, the jury in the Marathon Bombing trial has reached a verdict which is scheduled to be read at 1:45pm, Eastern. I expect the whole show will be preempted in Boston, for legal analysis, after the reading.
  10. I hear you, regarding Spencer. Look, the kid has a speech problem and I get how it annoys some people. Beyond that, he's a ham. The thing is, a good show, with good writers and directors, wouldn't be playing up his hamminess. They'd write his lines to sound like a real kid, and if/when the kid OVER-ACTED, they'd tone him the hell down.
  11. Unless I'm doing Twitter wrong (possible) Bryan Craig scrubbed those tweets. Poor little moron. I agree with the above. E (or whatever network that was) must have handed that child that question, and they never should have. That said, his parents should be keeping a tighter rein, so that their child isn't exploited. I did love BH's hung over best woman schtick, for the thankfully canceled Patrick/Sabrina wedding. I think I'd rather have Patricia than Valerie, but who am I kidding? Over 40s don't exist. Of course he did and neither he, nor Tony Geary, can explain it any other way. Both of their comments on the (NON) DID-ness of it were logic-salad. We know what we saw. Luke didn't remember what Fluke did. Fluke imagined he was talking to Luke, when he was really talking to Bill Ekert's rotting corpse. Whether Ron (or Tony) wants to own that it was a DID story, it was a DID story. I'm sorry it's gone now, because I LOVE this. Okay, I also think Bryan shouldn't have been so reckless, but he's a 23 year old boy (no, I mean boy, not man). He's gonna be okay, even if he gets canned. Should he have done this? No. Would I have advised my own son against doing this? Yes. But still, I'm glad he gets that fans don't think Morgan and Kiki have any moral standing in this Avery story. Agreed. So he's about as intelligent as the character he plays? I'll buy that. That said, it felt to me, more like he was complaining about the story itself and not the screen time. I don't think Freddie Smith was fired from/left (I'm not sure which it is) DOOL, because of his DUI and accident. I think that once the Will Horton character was recast with a ferret, nobody could save their story, and sadly, Corday doesn't seem to have the chops his parents had, and fails to see that Freddie's Sonny (rather than Guy Wilson's sniveling poor imitation of Will Horton) is the draw. Morgan has a current personality? I thought his opinions and "personality" was all plot point. Seriously, this show.
  12. At the very beginning of this farce, Nik said something (to Helena) about feeling bad about not telling Liz, and then Liz walked in. I forget what smoke he blew up her ass, to explain it -- maybe something about Fluke, or maybe he just said he felt bad not telling Liz that Helena was staying at Windermere. He also came close to coming clean to Sam. Still, it's not enough for me. I like my Nik to have a better reason than ELQ stock, to go dark side.
  13. I think Katie has returned to the RC church. At least, my memory is that she's sending Suri to RC parochial school.
  14. How early did this show up on demand, for everyone/anyone? I didn't star watching until the hiatus. I was surprised when I went in, to set up my season pass, that it was already available on demand, hours before it airs on Starz. I didn't see it until 4 or 5:00pm, but I don't know how early it showed up. In re the spanking scene, I thought it was well handled. I appreciated that Jamie pointed out that had any of the men so endangered the group, that man would be flogged or even killed. That helped me watch from a place where I could remember that corporal punishment was a husband/wife thing, but it was also a societal thing between male peers. I loved the first argument between Jamie and Claire, after he got her to safety. I too, love the switch to Jamie's P.O.V. I was someone who was very worried after the Paley reports, and feel so much better, now that I've watched it, myself.
  15. I know the above was posted a while ago, but it struck me, because I used to think the same, then I realized I was conflating Scientology's Narconon with N.A. (Narcotics Anonymous). I'm just wondering if that happened to you, too. Is Beck still active? Sometimes, the adult children drift away, without officially leaving or publicly renouncing the cult. And if they're successful celebrities, the church doesn't target them, as long as they keep their mouths shut. Tangentially, isn't JLo's father a Scientologist? The networking/social aspect reminds me of something Haggis (I think) said in the film. He said, early on, he assumed the "church" talk was done with a wink, as a poorly disguised attempt at tax exemption and he never took it seriously as a religion, in the conventional sense. I got the impression that he and a lot of adherents looked on it as a self-help program, with social networking a bonus. I completely agree with everyone who says it's a dangerous cult. I just mention this, because I think a lot of people who got involved (especially in years past) didn't really think of it as a religion. At least in earlier years, neophytes were told they could remain in their religion of origin (let's say Catholic) and practice Scientology. Then they'd get further into the literature (and further up the bridge) only to read LRH saying Jesus was a "lover of young boys..." which, you know, we'd call a pedophile. LRH also said, "[LRH's] mission could be said to fulfill the Biblical promise represented by this brief anti-Christ period." I think Katie Holmes has a high school education, and got swept up in the romance and glamour, and was a working actress, not an internet addict, who probably never thought to do due diligence on Scientology. I think she was marrying that cute actor she'd had a crush on since she was a girl, and had enough of a passing acquaintance with seemingly normal, celebrity Scientologists, that she didn't worry, until it was too late.
  16. I really think the show has suffered since AS and JS left. Now, it shouldn't have, mind you. They're both solid actors, but so are Ari, Missy, Shawn, Freddie, etc. The thing is, the show seems to refuse to write compelling stories for characters who aren't Sami and EJ. Maybe this would be better placed in the unpopular opinions thread, but I don't think that Kate Manzi is a bad actress. I think the various writing teams have done a hatchet job on the character, Abigail. I think they're wasting Theresa Donovan. They've turned Brady into a blithering idiot. Their Jennifer is a shrew. Their Eve is gross. Their Daniel is ridiculous. And so on...
  17. I've pretty much hated John since his, "I'll alienate Marlena and get Kristen to sleep with me, but I'm totally only doing it to save my son who is in love with Kristen," B.S. That said, I think John knew things were off, and that Sparkle was a bad guy, once he walked in on Sparkle caressing Sonny's cheek. John thinks of Sami as a daughter (he might have had more of a hand in raising her than either of her bio parents) and Will as a grandson. He sees Sparkle coming onto Will's husband, then this scandal breaks. Of course he's going to react poorly.
  18. I loved Drake's demeanor in that interview. He was all like, "Yeah, it's frigging crazy, but let's just go with it." OMG. I love Brady (and Melanie and Brady/Melanie) but you're right. He's totally the Sam Winchester of this show. Fans can be crazy. I never disliked Guy Wilson's version of Will, because of Freddie's Sonny. I disliked Guy Wilson's version of Will because he has a ferret face, because he can't act his way out of a paper bag, because he always looks constipated, and because once Guy was cast, the writing for the character changed said character into a cold, heartless, ambitious cheater. Well, no. I mean, I get what you're saying about them never making Sonny a true Kiriakis. That is very true. But what you're saying about "Sonny written in character" is demonstrably untrue, because, as you said, they never made Sonny a true Kiriakis. They did that early on, when he stopped working for Victor (as a lawyer, or something, right) and then when he wouldn't accept money from Vic (nor would he allow Chad to accept money from Stefano) for their start up. Sonny's characterization IS (in my opinion) that he's the anti-Kiriakis. If they had Sonny react to this cheating as if he were Vic junior, that, in my opinion, would be way out of character.
  19. Who is "Lumily" supposed to represent? I know "Lumi" is a portmanteau of Lucas and Sami, but I don't remember them having a three way with an Emily.
  20. Oh, I'll miss Molly's Melanie. If Freddie's really gone, I might be, too. I can't stand Guy's Will. I miss Sami and EJ. I hate what the show has done to Jennifer. My love for Sonny might have been one of my last tethers to the show.
  21. I do think that was what was going on though, BringOnTheDrama. Bobbi was being gentle with her ill, older sister.
  22. Right? I loved him on DOOL as Scotty Banning. I probably bowed out of GH during his first tenure, here, but even with the Satan beard, he's a pretty boy, but I know what he did to Carly (and yeah, I know, CARLY), but I don't ever want to see him in a room with a female I've ever liked for at least two seconds. This latest plot just makes me puke bile. It takes some children many years to overcome speech impediments. I'm sure this child already has a speech therapist. None of my children had a lasting one, but my oldest child had a best friend who had to have his tonsils and adenoids removed, before the impediment could be fully addressed (and that was in the 4th grade, so we're talking NB's age). This is a pathology. In my opinion, it's not something to be mocked by full ass grown adults. A real little boy has a speech impediment. If he had a limp, would we mock that? If he were born missing limbs, would we mock that? Is this what we are? The actor is a 9 or 10 year old boy, ffs. <3
  23. For me, it cut out right after Luke reminds Bobbi he tried to blow up the Haunted Star with her and everyone else on it. Luke says he killed the heart and soul of their family, etc. (22 minutes) It comes back 46 minutes in at the very end of a scene between Ric and Sam. Ric says something I can't make out, then it cuts to Jake and Hayden scene where she tells him to get back in bed and says she knows a way to help him get back to sleep. When the episode is done airing, will someone please recap those 20 something minutes? I can't believe they killed Patricia like that.
  24. He just finished, but now Stephanopoulos is blabbing. I miss SOAPNet so much. My NBC affiliate is even worse than my ABC one, and the President usually seems to favor announcements in the 1 o'clock hour. Edit. It's finally over, but of course now they have to air ads.
