  1. Regarding Luke, I keep wondering if they're bringing Genie back so she can convince him to get treatment at the place Laura gets it, in France, which seems pretty lackluster, so I hope that's not it. Didn't Dr. O poison Duke (while, I think, meaning to get Anna) a year or two back? It was such a slap in the face to Anna's history, to have that beast comforting her. I think KG is great, but just like Ava (and Sonny, and Julian) they've written her into a corner. If only this show would be General Hospital, and not General Criminals. Edited because nobody should be brining Genie Francis.
  2. Wait. Who were the THREE children Sam raised with Jason? I'm counting Danny as 1, even though Jason/Sam never raised him. I can count Jake as #2, but again, Sam/Jason never raised him until drunken Luke Spencer ran down the poor boy. No, he did NOT. But to be fair to Nik, I don't think anyone who saw what the kid did at the party, made a point to tell Nik. The whole scene made me want to vomit out a special, "Eff You to Lulu and Dante." They saw what this child did. He tried to kill Cam and Emma. He needs so much help.
  3. I completely agree. I hate the writing for the Spencer character, but I don't think the child actor is being abused. I don't think it's that big of a deal, since she said it to Julian. Had she said it to Patrick, or to Danny or Emma, I'd be right there with you, but to me, this is nothing. My unpopular opinion is that Michael should have as many years to raise baby AJ (or Avery, if that's your preference) as Sonny had to raise baby Michael. Also, Spinelli does not annoy me (</really unpopular>). That said, I'm sorry about your break up, but am really glad you were free of that ass, before you were legally committed to it. <3 Amen. My really unpopular opinion is that Michael will retain custody of baby Avery/AJ/That Sparkle Princess for her entire childhood. Hush. I know I'm wrong, but I don't want to hear it. So like… Jennifer Horton Devereaux? Wow, the above is funny to me, because to me, it feels like Maxie love is the unpopular opinion. My unpopular opinion is that I think Maxie brings so much to the show, and not just because Kirsten (Kirstin?) Storms is so pretty and her baby is so cute, but just because I think the actress gets it, even when the writers do not. My unpopular opinion is that TWoP was growing in readers and forum posters, each year, was turning a profit, and yet NBC/UNI decided to shit-can the site, so I will never again try to understand this shit. My unpopular opinion is that William Shakespeare should be taking some major offense, right now.
  4. Is it an acronym, or -- how does "tocks" relate/translate? Term Of Conception Killed Soon?
  5. I wish Nathan had been a Cassadine (and was then written to have something to do with the family). Did you all notice, today, during Jake and Liz's second sandwich date, he was saying that it was even better than their first sandwich date. "Maybe it's the fact that the odds are against anybody ringing your doorbell and coming in and claiming that their my wife, or your dead husband, or I don't know…" For a second, I was like, "Son of a bitch, they retcon-killed Lucky." Then I realized it was just piss-poor dialogue. What are tocks? Amen to no more rape stories, or rape-y stories, or stories we can analogize with rape, or the like. I have to say, I hate Becky's storyline, but her performance is stellar. She really brought the crazy eyes with her, "Now I have a chance at happiness," nonsense to Nik, and she showed guilt, during some of her exchanges today, with Jake. I don't like what the show is doing to the character, Elizabeth, but I appreciate that Becky has a chance to shine. Which regime tried to fire Becky only to be shot down by the fans -- Guza, or Valentini/Carlivati?
  6. I kept waiting for Patrick to switch sides and back up Olivia. He had so many issues with Robin's friendships with Sonny and Jason (especially, iirc, after Sonny shot Robin, when Emma was in the house).
  7. Okay, time for hypothetical people. John is married to Mary. He meets Sue and likes what he sees, so he lets Sue think he's a single man. Sue likes what she sees too, and goes to bed with John. Is John raping Sue? If he occasionally sleeps with his wife Mary, too, who is ignorant of his affair with Sue, is he also raping Mary? No. He's lying to and manipulating both women, as well as violating their trust, but he's not raping them, despite the fact that he has the power of knowledge on his side. What Liz is doing is gross and disgusting, but there are a lot of gross and disgusting things other than rape, which is also gross and disgusting. With a compact mirror?
  8. I kind of get Nik's switcheroo from, "Don't tell!!!" to "Tell!!!" (I don't like it, but I get it). The only reason he told Liz that Jake is Jason, was to keep Elizabeth from getting more romantically involved with Jake, and then getting the rug pulled out from under her, once someone figures out the truth. He came clean with her, because she's important to him (clearly more important than his own cousin and her son). I think what Nik wanted was for Liz to steer clear of Jake and to keep his secret. Once he realized she wasn't going to steer clear, he didn't want her to keep the secret, because he still thinks she is a good enough person that it will destroy her to do so.
  9. Most of the time, the contracts include an out, every 13 weeks, so Brad might have been signed under a 1 year contract, with the understanding that his run would end up being more limited.
  10. The advantage to Nik was only explained once and not fully (during a conversation with Helena, if I recall correctly), but it amounts to this: Sam currently controls Jason and Danny's shares of ELQ. Sam might be convinced to vote for a Nikolas take-over. If Jake remembers he's Jason, those shares revert to his control, and he would always side with Michael. I agree with the above. It's a disgusting betrayal. It is a violation of the trust that has been built up between Elizabeth and "Jake," but it is not rape, in that it's not that Jake has NO memory. He has no memory of being Jason Q and Jason Morgan, but he has six months (or more, I've stopped counting) of the life he's currently living, and in that life, he has wanted to be with Elizabeth. If Liz sleeps with "Jake," he'll be a willing sex partner. And if/once he finds out how she kept the truth from him, he will be a once-willing partner who probably would have chosen differently, had he been in full possession of the truth. He'll be what too many of us have been, a partner who was lied to, by the person he most trusted. Rape is not the only vile act a person can commit. Elizabeth's choice is vile enough, on it's own. I don't need it to be called rape, to hate what she's doing. I'd love to see Elizabeth saved from this vile act by "Jake," himself. I'd love it if, just as he didn't feel right sleeping with Hayden, because she was a stranger, her appearance in his life has made him realize that he can't be intimate with anyone, until he finds out his true identity. Then, Liz would have lied for nothing. I also want a pony. I don't agree that this person doesn't exist. This person is still the person who was born Jason Quartermaine (or maybe he was born Jason Moore and then it changed to Quartermaine). When he woke up in GH after his accident, he would have been unable to give consent. He's since built up however many months of life experience, memories, desires, principles, etc. Since he was able to refuse to consent to sleep with Hayden, he is able to refuse sleeping with Elizabeth, or consent to it. In my opinion, the problem isn't his ability to consent; the problem is he is being lied to. This scenario opens up an interesting question of personhood, but I'm pretty sure that's just a happy accident the writers don't even realize they orchestrated, and will fail to make the most of. I would have enjoyed this story much more if Sam and Patrick had gotten married, and Jake and Elizabeth had gotten involved, and then Elizabeth learned that Jake was Jason. If she was already building a life with him, when she found out his identity, her reluctance to tell the truth would still be as horrible, but it would also be more sympathetic.
  11. I thought he was going to. I was so disappointed. You are not alone. (♪ ♫)
  12. I don't really think the above is going to happen, but regardless, it is my fondest wish. I can buy Nik being a prick to save Laura. I cannot buy him being such a prick because of reasons. No. It is not just you. Oh, neither Patrick nor Nik approach Sonny levels of evil. Am I wrong in thinking that Robin has SKYPED a lot off screen?
  13. I did not see that last word as crook, so help me.
  14. Ha. Probaby, kassa. I think I was mistaken about her rehab, though. I think she went at the end of season 2, and I thought it was season 3. I watched it all so fast, I am still confused.
  15. My daughter said the same thing, which is a big problem for the show and the soap genre, in general. Soaps aren't only not attracting teenagers, they're driving them away. You know, I seriously love Nik and Liz (and Lucky and Emily) because I've loved them since they were kids. This is one of those storylines I don't engage with, because I refuse to start hating them. I can't understand why Ron and Frank want to ruin two complex characters, who have been played by the same two talented actors (well, except for the times that Tyler left and what's his face played Nik) for 20 years or so. Then again, today's whole episode, in my opinion, shows their utter contempt for the series, the genre, their cast, and the audience. Ugh.
  16. I completely agree with you. I most strongly agree where Brandi is concerned. Her behavior disgusts me. She makes me feel like I'm a pearl-clutching viewer, but I don't think I am. I just think I can stomach how crass and deceptive she is. The woman has no filter, which she is proud of, but she also comes across as if she has no morals.
  17. Thanks so much, zoeysmom, and everyone else (and your moms) too. It seems likely 3+ years did not pass since Kim's last trip to rehab (i.e. three years from the season 3 finale and the season 5 finale). Regarding Dirty Soap, I've watched Days of Our Lives and General Hospital forever (hence my board name) and I think actors from both were on DS, but I could never be bothered to watch. I've been reading through the Kim thread, today. I didn't watch the Dr. Phil show on which she appeared, but my understanding is she's swearing she was sober in Amsterdam. I think someone needs to provide her with a medical definition of sobriety. Also, as far as the Poker Night, I call b.s. that she only took one pain pill. I don't even believe that 1 pain pill, interacting with whatever properly prescribed drugs she was taking (Lexapro, Xanax, etc. -- whatever) caused the train wreck that was Kim on poker night. This woman has a long history of substance abuse. Her body wouldn't recognize one pain pill, at this point. I cannot believe it would make her that wacky.
  18. Thank you for all the warm welcomes (so much warmer than any newbie gets on the show). Well, I already loved Eileen Davidson and Lisa Rinna and the season 5 reunion (as the first episodes I watched) didn't change that. I immediately took to Lisa Vanderpump. I immediately loathed Brandi Glanville and didn't believe half of what she said. I liked Kyle, and I pitied Kim. That was my immediate reaction. After going back and watching it all from the beginning, for the most part, those feelings intensified. Before I ever saw Brandi on this show, I saw her on Steve Harvey's talk show, and at that point, just pitied her for foot-in-mouth disease, but now, after watching it all, it seems much deeper than that. You know, I feel for the woman, in that her husband cheated on her with who knows how many people. But by this point in a divorce (and after the ex-husband's remarriage) most women know enough to at least fake it 'til they make it, as far as not continuing on in the woman-scorned mode. Where is this girl's pride? Then again, where is her class? She turns my stomach for so many reasons, which is a shame, because she is a lovely (physically lovely) woman. One of the reasons I've never watched any of the HW series is that, in my opinion, none of these women represent truly real housewives, region aside. No woman with any class or dignity (from anywhere) would agree to go on this program, and if she did, she would never act like this. Keeping in mind that I've never watched any of the other franchises, I'd say Eileen Davidson comes the closest to how a normal wife and mother would behave. Is there medication. (I do not mean space cake.) Thank you! Do you (or does anyone) know how far ahead the regular episodes are shot? For example, the season 5 premiere aired on November 18, 2014. Was it filmed in June, July, August, September, October, etc? In part, I'm still trying to accommodate Kim's story about being sober for 3+ years. On the other hand, I'm trying to figure out if Bravo wrapped filming the regular season (i.e. not the reunion episodes) prior to Kingsley biting Alexia's hand.
  19. I'm sitting here with my mind blown. I've never watched a moment of any of the Housewives series, until now. I knew Rinna and Davidson were joining the cast, and I love them from my soap. I'd meant to start watching at the beginning of this season, but it fell off my radar. I'm not even sure what channel Bravo is on my new cable provider. I happened to stumble upon part 2 of the reunion while it was airing. I was saddened to realize the Kim Richards whose name I'd read in gossip items was the Kim Richards I had idolized when I was a little girl. I found the handful of season 5 episodes that were still available on-demand and watched them. Then I realized the first 4 seasons were on Hulu+, so I went back to the beginning and mainlined them. I ended up purchasing season 5 via Amazon, so that I could see how it all unfolded. In a little less than a month, I consumed the whole series to date. Is there a support group or something? I don't think I'm well. Overall, I think Brandi has to go for the show's sake, and Kim has to go, for Kim's sake (and for Kim and Kyle's sake). There's no way a newly sober person should be around these frequently tipsy people. That said, I want to know how Kim does her math. Up through the end of this season (and her subsequent arrest) she kept saying she had been sober for 3+ years. Season 4 was the only season in which is it plausible that she was completely sober, right? I'm not misremembering, am I? Does anyone know how far in advance of broadcast the episodes (and reunions) are shot? I expected to dislike Kyle more as the seasons progressed, but just the opposite happened. I don't always like what she does/says, but I think I understand her and I empathize with her, more than I ever expected. I do love Vanderpump, whether she's a chess master, or just what she puts herself out to be. I still love Davidson and Rinna (although I cringed when Rinna broke that glass in Amsterdam). Yolanda doesn't bother me. Brandi? Ugh. Whether or not the PTB see it, she is bad for this series. I'm so glad Carlton only made it a season. Joyce, I found sympathetic, yet she worked my last nerve. The real Alison DuBois has forever ruined Medium for me. I'm still not sure what to make of Camille or Adrienne. Thank goodness Pam/Dana, Marisa and Faye were never added as regulars. I know this is all sort of disorganized, but you guys, I just watched all of it in less than a month! For those of you who watched the season 5 "Secrets Revealed" episode that aired after the reunion episode were over, did anyone else think Pandora was going to say she was pregnant? When she and Jason first showed up at Villa Rosa, she kept holding her clutch bag over her tummy. I was waiting for a big reveal, but then she drank the sangria, and didn't announce anything after Lisa showed her the baby bunting she supposedly bought 5 years ago, so… I guess not. Okay, time to go try to get my brain back, without the benefits of stem cells, lemon juice, and international travel.
  20. I completely disagree on his acting and his looks. I think he's one of the more natural actors on the show, but I think his characterization is as messy as his hair is greasy. I think Jen Lilley is far more striking with dark hair. She filled in as Maxie on GH, when Kirsten Storms was ill, and did nothing for me. It took me a while to realize it was the same actress playing Theresa. That said, I think Abigail is beautiful, too, but I'm with you on Lilley being the most beautiful of the younger actresses. I think Will mistakenly thinks Sonny is as weak-willed and easily led as he is, so he's afraid Victor can talk Sonny out of his marriage to Will. Thank you, for this. It was driving me crazy, that Justin was suddenly in Dubai. Then I started second guessing my memory and wondered if he had been in Jakarta, instead, but that's where GH used to send Ned Ashton, when Kurth was not on the show. In re the "move the hostage" games, thank you! That was driving me crazy. What's worse was the damned ropes. If you have a frigging dungeon in your castle, you ought to have shackles, chains, or just some dang handcuffs. Will said he was an objective writer, but now I am going to call him an objectionable writer forever and ever, or at least until an actor who can act fills the role, and writers who are less objectionable start writing it. It wasn't shown, but Chad did spend a lot of time trying to cause trouble for Ben, even when he was supposedly falling for (or in love with) Jordan. Since Jordan is Ben's sister, Chad's residual feelings for Abigail were really the only explanation. It's a very DiMera sort of thing, "If I can't have her, no one can, unless my father finds a doppelgänger for my romantic rival, in which case I'm fine with that doppelgänger raping her every night for six months." I agree. I love Eileen Davidson and have always felt that she breathes life into the show, but she has been wasted the past few years, and each return ruins the character a little bit more. I think Kristen has been ruined far more than EJ. His worst acts were against Sami, who gave as good as she got. Kristen raped Eric to ruin his reputation to…upset Marlena. Besides being creepy, disgusting and gross, it was also lame revenge by proxy. What even is that? Now has stolen a fetus, given birth to him, and has kidnapped the baby's bio mother, to steal her bone marrow and then kill her off? It's a cartoon.
  21. Thank you. I remember there was a Maison Blanche storyline, but I can't remember any of the details, so I'm wondering if I took a break from the show, during it. Off to Google that. I miss the good old days of Days.
  22. https://twitter.com/MartiniMirror/status/588051347179753472/photo/1 Can someone please identify the third actress/character in this photo. Even with my reading glasses on, I can't be sure. On the left is Lisa Rinna's Billie. Center is Eileen Davidson's Kristen. Is the one on the right Missy Reeves/Jennifer or Staci Greason's Isabella, or someone else, entirely? When I enlarge the picture, it gets too pixilated. And yikes, is there a Confederate flag in the background?
  23. I wish I could understand your posts, because they seem damned entertaining. I just don't get all the code.
