  1. There was 1 round last night where a sound clip was used from a makeup tutorial by a young woman named Olivia—they wanted to know which makeup item either was named or wasn’t named in the sound clip; I forget which. Though I’ve never seen or heard 1 before I’m 99.9% sure the clip was from 1 of the makeup tutorials by Olivia Jade; her mother, actress Lori Loughlin, is among the parents indicted in the College Admissions Bribery Scandal currently making the news. I don’t know how far ahead of airing the show tapes, but I think it was probably a coincidence the clip was in this week’s show at the same time the College Admissions Bribery Scandal is making the news.
  2. Here are a couple of articles on Earl Thomas Conley’s passing: From The Tennessean (Nashville, TN newspaper): Country Singer Earl Thomas Conley, Who Sang ‘Holding Her and Loving You’, Dies at 77 From Billboard: Country Singer/Songwriter Earl Thomas Conley Dies at 77
  3. I totally agree. But I also think artists like Barry Manilow & Bette Midler (the same age as Mick, or close to it) should be recognized as well; especially if artists like Neil Diamond & Lionel Richie (to name a couple of artists from roughly the same musical genre)—& I think Sir Elton John, but I’m not positive—have already been recognized by the Kennedy Center (I’m not debating the previous selection of Sir Paul McCartney as a representative of that genre; he & The Beatles are musical legends & he truly deserved the honor).
  4. Technically, it wasn’t “surgery” since they didn’t cut open his chest. It was more like a “procedure” since they inserted the replacement valve through an artery in the groin, which is considered “minimally invasive” & not “surgery”, per se.
  5. Limited Edition Autographed The West Wing Print Available for 6 days only, as I write (I think it said).
  6. Yes, The Conners was renewed by ABC for Season 2 on March 22nd this year .
  7. Also, according to other sources, Mr. Day’s husband doesn’t just suffer from memory loss; he suffers from dementia & has been in an assisted living center since shortly after Mr. Day’s disappearance.
  8. That hasn’t been commented on yet. But so far, officially, the body hasn’t yet been identified as Mr. Day’s even though it was found on his property.
  9. I was just going by the linked article. If SVU really is the longest running live action TV show, or not, that’s cool. Hopefully someone might comment on TV Line’s page & bring up the apparent discrepancy.

  14. From ABC News/Good Morning America (aka GMA): Keri Russell Opens Up About Her Broadway Debut in ‘Burn This’ (VIDEO) It’s the first revival of a/this play by Lanford Wilson. Keri’s co-star is Adam Driver, with whom she also co-stars in the upcoming ninth film in the Star Wars franchise. For anybody in the area, or anybody who might wanna take a road trip to see her in it: The play is at the Hudson Theatre on Broadway. In the linked info page in this paragraph from the theatre, it says it’s a strictly limited engagement (but doesn’t say how limited/doesn’t give a closing date). The previews began on March 15th; the play opens on April 16th. Apparently Matthew (whom Michael Strahan, the interviewer, called Keri’s husband; she called Matthew “my guy”... twice) got her interested in doing the play. I liked the interview but thought it was too short & I thought that Keri’s lipstick was too bright, or something; at any rate I thought it should’ve been a different shade.

  16. Dave was apparently on Ellen DeGeneres’ show in the last day or so. For those who missed it, these are all from her video site, Ellentube.com; I think it’s the whole interview, plus the game he played: ARTICLE: David Letterman Answers Ellen’s ‘Burning Questions’, Shutterfly Donates $20,000 to Habitat for Humanity! 17. Regarding the bolded & italicized comment. The thing of it is, even if they’d had a gun with blanks there was really no guarantee he couldn’t have been injured if he’d been shot by a blank, as they can do as much damage as a real round can. Something similar to Justin Carter’s accident happened in 1984, only the gun involved was loaded with blanks. Back in that year, CBS aired a show called Cover Up. It was 1 of those action-adventure series involving a pair of secret/undercover agents whose cover on their assignments is a photographer & her model. It originally starred actress & former model Jennifer O’Neill & an actor & former model named Jon-Erik Hexum. During a delay in shooting a scene where Hexum’s character was supposed to be loading a gun (he had been given a real gun & blanks to load it with), he became restless & impatient & began (sadly) goofing around with the gun, which was loaded, waiting to get the action of loading it from a different camera angle. Hexum unloaded all but 1 blank round, spun the chamber & simulated what he thought was a harmless game of Russian Roulette with a harmless weapon, putting the gun up to his temple & pulling the trigger. The paper wadding in the round (which is what prevents the gunpowder that’s still in the round though it’s a blank, & can cause as much trauma or even death as a real bullet) didn’t penetrate Hexum’s skull, but it caused enough blunt force trauma to shatter a quarter-sized piece of his skull, sending the pieces into his brain & causing massive hemorrhaging. He was rushed to a hospital, where he underwent 5 hours of surgery to repair his wounds. He was subsequently declared brain dead 6 days later, & was a posthumous organ & skin donor.

  19. According to this, from Entertainment Weekly, Matthew is in the upcoming movie A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, apparently due out on November 22nd. In the movie Tom Hanks plays the late Fred Rogers, best known to the world as Mister Rogers, the host of PBS’ long-running show Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Matthew plays a character described as “a cynical reporter” who’s assigned to do a magazine profile of Mister Rogers later in his life. The movie is partly fictional, but is inspired by a real article written by journalist Tom Junod. The 2nd picture in the linked article is of Tom & Matthew in character as Mister Rogers & the reporter.
