  1. From WPTA ABC21 (Fort Wayne, IN)—Report: Estranged Father of Rapper Eminem Dies at Fort Wayne Area Home I knew Eminem was from Detroit, but didn’t know his father lived either here or near here, my hometown (the cities aren’t really that far apart though—about a half hour by airline flight—so it could be logical he’d have lived in the area). Our ABC station is crediting TMZ as their source for the report on Eminem’s father’s death.
  2. For dinner I got to do the “lemon buttered noodles” thing again. I also managed to get enough lemon squeezed out so the taste was more prevalent, or maybe the kitchen managed to get more butter (or whatever they use for butter where I live) on the noodles that ended up on my plate, & I thought it was better than the last time. I had them with an order (3 pieces) of fried grouper, which was our designated seafood of the day & my way of getting ahold of the lemon for the noodles (the kitchen knows I sometimes eat weird things together/am a picky eater, etc., since I’ve been living here for almost 2 years, but it’s gonna take me awhile to order “an order of just the noodles from the ‘whatever over noodles’ special & a lemon wedge or 2” without ordering something with the noodles & lemon (besides salads, which I hate) that gives me a believable reason to ask for the lemon wedges to go with my dinner (or lunch, when appropriate).
  3. According to her Wikipedia page, Judith Krantz was the sister-in-law of the late ventriloquist Shari Lewis (probably most popular in the ‘60’s & ‘70’s—& another celebrity I was fortunate enough to have met through my March of Dimes work). Ms. Lewis was married to Ms. Krantz’s brother, Jeremy Tarcher; Ms. Krantz used her married name professionally.
  4. MacGyver is being held until midseason. And yes, it could be back on Fridays when it returns. It just all depends on which night the first hourlong change comes in the CBS schedule & if they wanna put MacGyver there, or if they wanna move other things around on the schedule as well & put the show in 1 of those other changed timeslots—which also may or may not put it back on Fridays.
  5. From Matthew’s Twitter. I’m positive that has to be Sam, his & Keri’s real-life son, in the picture with Matthew. Keri’s older 2 children are a lot older/bigger than that size of a kid right now, for 1 thing; for another, I’m positive I remember reading/hearing in an interview with Keri, Matthew, or both, that Matthew was trying to teach Sam the Welsh language & the book Matthew’s reading to the kid is in Welsh. Keri was on Live with Kelly & Ryan this morning, promoting the last month of performances of her Broadway play, Burn This. If/when I can find a link to just her interview (first guest) I’ll post it.
  6. I got the buttered noodles with lemon & shrimp! The noodles were good, except I think I missed hitting some with the lemon wedge or something (I got 1 wedge for the noodles & 1 for the shrimp); the lemon taste wasn’t as pronounced as I was expecting—is it supposed to be very pronounced? Plus, I think I could’ve used a little more butter, or whatever they use for butter around here, but I’m not sure how much control I have over that part of the equation (if I can get extra “butter” on the side, & if it’ll still melt into the noodles by the time it gets to my room if I can). I’d eat it again though, ‘cause it was good. The tastes just weren’t as pronounced as I was expecting, which was kind of disappointing, I guess. I’m just sorry I didn’t find out about this when my family still lived at home & my mom did the cooking (or at least microwaving). I could’ve probably gotten the right proportions of butter & lemon to noodles, if I didn’t this time, although my mom probably would’ve thought it was weird I wanted to put lemon juice on my noodles.
  7. They changed the meal that was supposed to have had the buttered noodles on Sunday at the last minute (which they seem to do a lot, & then they never update at least some residents that they changed it until they call to order the meal involved using the original menu), because it was Father’s Day. So I haven’t gotten a chance to try the noodles with lemon yet. But we’re supposed to have another dinner special tonight which is “something (& something I don’t really like) over noodles”. So I can get just the noodles from that. We also have breaded butterfly shrimp as an entree choice all week. I like shrimp (at least if it’s not raw/shrimp cocktail); so I’m gonna get some of that too, with lemon (& maybe ketchup—I don’t like cocktail sauce) on the side, with my noodles. So I should have the lemon buttered noodles trial accomplished by the end of our dinner time (5-6:30PM Eastern) tonight.
  8. If you ask me, she still looked good up until her death. I’m not sure I’d have believed she was 95 if I saw her.
  9. Here’s Ms. Vanderbilt’s, fairly extensive, obit from USA Today.
  10. Gloria Vanderbilt, fashion model/designer, heiress & socialite, has died at age 95, according to her son, journalist/CNN anchor Anderson Cooper. Source: a News notification, I think from USA Today, on my iPhone.
  11. Unfortunately, my room is more like a sort of continuing care hospital room-type set up. It looks like a regular bedroom, except the beds have side rails where needed & the area of the building where my room is has 24 hour nursing/nurse’s aide care. So no access to cooking facilities. Thanks again for the thoughts! I’ll figure out a way to try lemon buttered noodles; though it may take me awhile!
  12. I love (smooth/creamy) peanut butter & peanut butter cookies, without peanuts in them. But I don’t like peanuts (I also like ketchup/catsup & tomato/spaghetti sauces, but I don’t like tomatoes). Is that weird?
  13. Yep, we actually have multiple food/restaurant delivery services that can come to our facility (a local company, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Eat24, & Postmates—I think that’s all of them). Unfortunately, if I wanted to eat there, I’m too physically immobile to go to my Mom’s apartment; she has to come to me—she’s now in her 2nd apartment here & I’ve never seen either of them even though we’ve been here almost 2 years. I swear, someone’s gonna have to take pics of her current place on my phone. Thanks for the thoughts though!
  14. Unfortunately it’s kinda hard to just get them to add foods on request. They have meals planned 6 months ahead & the same meals rotate on a week-to-week basis (like there are something like 6 weeks worth of meals scheduled in that 6 months & they rotate for the scheduled 6 weeks throughout that 6 months). It’s the epitome of “Taco Tuesday”, but we’ve never actually had tacos since I’ve lived here—we do, however, get pretty good chimichangas, & grande tostadas every few weeks; the latter weren’t real good the last time I tried them, & we also had them all week on this week’s menus (which change tomorrow/on Mondays).
  15. Unfortunately we don’t have a Trader Joe’s here. Plus I can’t drive (neither can my Mom, who lives here too), & even if we had 1 & I (or Mom) could drive, I have physical medical issues which keep me confined (though I hate the severity of that word) here. I also can’t cook for myself, & my Mom stopped cooking when we moved here, as far as I know, & she eats the stuff provided in her end of the facility instead. And we don’t really seem to have anybody on staff whose function is to help residents with stuff like shopping if they can’t get out themselves (my Mom is in an independent living apartment, but it’s still hard to go anywhere since she usually has to wait until the facility is giving transportation wherever she wants/needs to go) I’m in more like a continuing hospital-type care situation in the same facility). I did find out we’re supposed to have beef stroganoff over noodles for either our lunch or dinner special today. I’m gonna try to get an extra order of plain noodles with that if the noodles & sauce aren’t already mixed (we have a lot of “something over noodles” type entrees here & I’ve never had a problem getting the noodles just plain if I didn’t like what they were being served with) & ask for a lemon wedge on the side, although I don’t think there’s anything else on the menu that requires lemon (I drink Cherry Pepsi) & it might look weird (we do have a daily seafood special, which might help). I’ll let you know what happens.
  16. For anyone who might not already know, the 10th Season Premiere of Hawaii Five-0 Will Air on Friday, September 27th, 2019, at Its New Time of 8PM Eastern/7PM Central. It will be followed by Magnum, PI & Blue Bloods.
  17. I love (way more than I know I should) buttered noodles (or buttered pasta, in general). I’ve never tried them with lemon though, which I also love. Wish I’d known about that, so I could’ve tried it, before my mom & I moved into an assisted living center after my dad died 2 years ago & someone else now does the cooking, on a set menu, which will make it hard to try this now. Unless we happen to have buttered noodles with some form of seafood on the menu & I can get lemon on the side for the seafood, but use it on the noodles.

  21. Congratulations to Dulé Hill & his wife (& Ballers co-star), Jazmyn Simon, on the recent birth of their first son & first child together, Levi Dulé Hill. Dulé apparently also has a 14-year-old daughter, Kennedy, from a previous relationship.
  22. It looked, to me, like Marisa Tomei had a curler in her hair over her forehead in the scene taking place during breakfast. Whether or not that was on purpose, somehow, or forgotten I don’t know yet.

  24. Unless, as you said, Grover or Duke (or somebody else) was hit by the bullet, the most logical victim has to be Steve &/or Jerry. Theoretically, it could be both if they were standing close together enough & the bullet entered 1 person, exited them, & still had enough energy left to enter a second person, probably without exiting. I honestly don’t see it being Danny. I’ll have to go back & watch on the CBS app again, but I only remember hearing 1 shot. There weren’t enough shots to “cover” everyone where the shooter started or moved through before actually shooting. Therefore, in my opinion, Danny’s “Oh God!/Oh my God!” was in reaction to seeing whether Steve, Jerry, or even both, was (were) the victim(s).
  25. Last night was another Season Finale, not the Series Finale. The show was renewed earlier this past week (I think, or the week before) for Season 10. But I get your point the writers wouldn’t have known the show’s status for next season when writing the episode.
