  1. Don’t forget to be sure you can bring whatever it is, if it’s a food item, in through Customs (or TSA/international airport security) so you don’t lose your gift before it even reaches the intended recipient. Some kinds of foods can’t be brought in through Customs (or TSA/international equivalent). I’m sure you’re a well-traveled person who already knows this, but I didn’t think a reminder would hurt. Apologies if any offense was taken; none was intended.
  2. I guess, since this was set on Halloween we can say Danny was MIA this week because he was taking Charlie trick or treating or to his own party (with or without Rachel tagging along). It was nice to see Masi back as Max; I wish we could see more of his adopted son, Tunde.
  3. My opinion: It’s probably not a huge deal, like the media’s claiming it is, really, because I’d bet Megan’s probably been excused from/missed other eps (at least during the original run of the series).

  5. “Mr. Princeton” is Bradley Whitford, who’s best-known for playing (& winning a Best Supporting Drama Actor Emmy for playing) Joshua (Josh) Lyman, White House Deputy Chief of Staff in The West Wing (then his character became the Chief of Staff when the new Administration took over at the end of the series). His hair wasn’t gray then. His character name here is Arthur. I’m not sure if he has a last name yet, or I can’t remember it.
  6. They are/were also at other places besides Amazon; but Amazon may be the cheapest place to get them.
  7. Yes he probably is/was. SAG/AFTRA only allows a name to be used by 1 member. Anyone else who wants to use the same/a similar name, if it’s already in use, has to add an initial, like H; use another version of their first name (like the “formal” version of their first name, William, or another nickname for their formal name—like Billy, for example), change the spelling of their name(s), or find some other way to distinguish between others in SAG/AFTRA with the same/a similar name. Oddly enough, according to his obit, & his Wikipedia page, Bill Macy was actually born with another name, Wolf Martin Garber. William H. Macy is using his birth name, William Hall Macy, Jr., as his professional name—only he’s reduced his middle name to the initial & dropped the “Jr.” suffix. Given that information, I’d say Bill Macy is the 1 who had to change his name for his work, but I dunno if it’s because his birth name wasn’t “right” for acting & someone advised him to change it, or because there was already a “Bill Macy” in SAG when he got his membership card.
  8. Regarding the bolded: It’s weird because while Jorge Garcia has been removed from the main title credits, & he’s only been in a few minutes of the season premiere (where they showed Jerry still in the hospital, playing Battleship with Junior, then telling the team, after he was discharged, he had a “life’s too short” epiphany & had decided to leave the team to go off & finally write a book about 1 of the conspiracy theories he’d been chasing for years), Jorge’s name (in case nobody’s noticed) has still been listed as part of the main cast in the press releases that have been issued by CBS, for each episode so far, through the newest press release—for the upcoming Halloween episode in which Masi Oka’s Max Bergman is supposed to make a return visit.
  9. I’m not sure that’s his final film role. His obituary at deadline.com (first link posted announcing his death) says he did 2 other movies this year: Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories & Werewolf. If neither has been released yet, then (obviously) 1 of those will be his final film role instead.

  11. I don’t know that it was or wasn’t, but it could’ve been. TV show episodes aren’t always shown in the order in which they’re filmed.

  13. Yes, Rip Taylor was the comedian who threw confetti all over the place. He would throw it during his monologues, on his way over to his seat during a talk show appearance, whenever he gave a silly answer on a game show, pretty much anytime. He carried it around in those oversized brown paper shopping bags with the rounded rough string-like handles. He also made fun of his own toupee/hair a lot, I think because it was so “big”, & maybe the toupee wasn’t the greatest.
  14. She was also a widow on White Collar. As well as a singer/recording artist/nightclub & casino showroom performer & film star.
  15. Regarding the bolded: The fact that Chi McBride’s credit in the opening titles doesn’t have the negative connotation that you seem to think it does (or I’m feeling that you do). In fact, in TV & film, being at the end of the credits, with words like “and”, “also starring”, “with” “Special Guest Star”, “Special Appearance by” in front of your name, & with “as (character name)” after that is a good thing. It shows that you &/or whomever negotiates your contract has some clout & can get you that credit; you're well-respected, legendary, etc., in the industry; it can be (but I don’t know if it always is) a negotiated item in a contract. But in Chi’s case, I think he legitimately earned his “and Chi McBride” credit over his years in the business. The only thing that might make it better is if his credit read “and Chi McBride as Captain Lou Grover”. Also, Chi was not hired before Ian Anthony Dale (Adam)—who currently appears 3rd, in Daniel Dae Kim’s former position, between Scott Caan & Meaghan Rath (who appears in the same opening credits position Grace Park did for the entire 7 years she was on the show) in the opening titles/credits. Ian has been on the show since Season 2, when his role was recurring (it almost had to be, because he had a co-starring role on another show, Murder in the First, that aired on TNT for 2-3 seasons early in Hawaii Five-0’s run) &, among other things, he & Kono were a secret couple/“opposites attract” relationship, because of the Noshimuri family’s high-level Yakuza ties & Kono being an HPD cop/Hawaii Five-0 task force member. Chi McBride joined the show at the beginning of Season 4, & his character & McGarrett’s didn’t get along until about halfway through that season, when the Governor ordered them to work together, serving subpoenas on people with charges like delinquent parking tickets, & they ran afoul of computer hacker Ian Wright, the guy who eventually kidnapped Grover’s daughter, Samantha, who got them involved in a big firefight with some bad guys he’d done a deal with & doublecrossed. I seriously doubt Chi has ticked off the writers. His writing the Thanksgiving ep last season wouldn’t do it (if it would, then they’d have to be upset because Alex has also written episodes airing last season & this season, & they shouldn’t not be upset at him just because he’s 1st in the credits & Chi is, like, 6th). In fact, as long as it was good enough to be filmed—which it was—the writers should be thrilled Chi had an idea for an ep, he took it to the Executive Producer Peter Lenkov, & Peter Lenkov agreed it was good enough to write & film. That was 1 less episode the writing staff had to come up with last season, because of Chi. I think the issue, as you see it, with Chi suddenly, seemingly being used less has to do with the cast size in recent years. In their haste to replace Daniel & Grace, & because of their possible efforts to respond to certain viewers’ accusations of racism when they dropped the show’s 2 Korean-descent leads, but kept the 2 white leads, & in their efforts to refresh an “aging” show, they’ve hired more actors than they can fit into 1 episode, or the show each week, as a whole—11 leads. So, right now, Chi’s character is sort of on “the back burner” (just like when they rotate who gets the big storylines in soap operas—sometimes 1 group of characters is seen more; other times, another group of characters is, or both groups are). When Daniel Dae Kim & Grace Park left, the producers filled those holes by hiring Beulah Koale & Meaghan Rath. That brought the cast back up to the previous 6. Then, apparently in answer to the racially-related complaints that came because CBS fired the show’s only 2 POC/Korean descent cast members, CBS promoted 4 actors/actresses of Japanese, Hawaiian, Filipina, & Samoan descent, whose roles were previously considered “recurring” (Ian Anthony Dale/Adam, Dennis Chun/HPD Sgt. Duke Lukela, Kimee Balmilero/Dr. Noelani Cunha, Honolulu’s Chief Medical Examiner, Taylor Wily/Kamekona) to full time roles on the show. That raised the lead cast to 10 members. And this season, they again raised the lead cast in number—to 11–when they hired Katrina Law to play that ex-military CID officer. They may have hired her to help fill the “badass female” role also/still currently filled by Meaghan Rath because it was announced, awhile back, that Meaghan also has a role in Supergirl this season; I think playing some kind of villain, which her real life brother also either played, or will still be playing. So Meaghan/Tani probably will be missing from some eps this season since 1 show films in Hawaii & the other in Vancouver. And that, or who knows what else, might put Chi’s character back at the forefront for at least an episode. We’ve only seen 1 ep this season. As far as anyone knows, we have at least 23-24 left to go. I’d bet Chi has a really good storyline somewhere in those 23-24 eps (whether or not he wrote it).
  16. I think the synopsis for the next episode mentions something about Eddie being instrumental in finding the bomb at McGarrett’s house.
  17. I think I remember that. By the way, where I said the girl in the dance recital couldn’t understand how someone close to her size could be Zoey’s age, I think that should’ve said the girl didn’t understand how someone old enough to be Zoey’s mom (Jen) was (close to) the same size as Zoey & most/all of the girls in the recital.
  18. Regarding the bolded: It was in the dance recital episode. Jen was staying backstage with Zoey before the show & 1 of the other kids involved (I never could tell if they were dancing with Zoey or with another group around that age) apparently didn’t understand how someone who was close to her size could be Jen’s age. Jen said something about her own, & Zoey’s, age & something about her size, & then something about how she (& Zoey) was different from that little girl because everybody’s different in some way(s).
  19. Regarding the bolded: India is 1 of the countries where you have to have at least 6 months left on your current passport, or get a new 1, to be able to get a visa to enter the country. I got that from a travel video channel I watch on YouTube. The hostess & her husband, a “grandparents” age couple, travel all over (but seem to like revisiting certain countries; or else maybe they’re just running out of habitable places they haven’t visited yet). During a series of videos where the couple was supposed to be going to India, the woman made this big point of telling viewers you need to have at least 6 months of validity left on your passport to even get a visa for India—then when they got to India, she (just she) was deported & couldn’t enter the country because she had somehow brought her old passport that was still valid (I guess out of habit), without the India visa, & didn’t realize it, instead of the new passport she had to have gotten to qualify for a visa for India. (she eventually was able to enter India).
