  1. From 8 News Now, Las Vegas: Trent Carlini, Considered the World’s Best Elvis Tribute Artist, and a Longtime Las Vegas Performer with This Act, Dead at Age 57 He performed in both his own Elvis tribute act & as Elvis in the long-running Legends in Concert show, which included tribute artists dedicated to a number of other musicians, from different genres, & not just Elvis tribute artists. He apparently died, this past Sunday, in a Las Vegas hospital. The cause of death has not been announced.
  2. From CNN: Pete Frates, One of the Men Who Popularized the Ice Bucket Challenge, Has Died The cause, of course, was ALS—Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis—aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The Ice Bucket Challenge, where participants were challenged to dump a bucket of ice over their heads, or make a donation to ALS research, was meant to raise funds to fight the disease & to bring awareness to it. Pete Frates, a former baseball player at Boston College, was only 34 when he died.
  3. Considering how Kono & Adam’s relationship was supposed to initially be a secret, at least where Five-0 was concerned, I think the title of this episode would’ve been equally appropriate for that episode. Just saying. Oh, & congratulations to Ian Anthony Dale (Adam) & his real-life family on the impending birth of their second child, a daughter (he mentioned it in an interview I read in the last few days; it might’ve been about this episode primarily).
  4. Lori Loughlin was on The Edge of Night too, when she was a teenager, maybe early 20’s (her character, Jody Travis, was introduced as a teenager).
  5. If you read the description of the next episode, I believe Adam’s story is continued next week.
  6. Well, the obit included it, so I did too. Checking Google (Wikipedia is begging for money right now), they list 4 Exec Producers for The Love Boat: Aaron Spelling, Leonard Goldberg, Douglas S. Cramer (whom I believe also had a title of Executive in Charge of Production), & Alan Rafkin. You really don’t have to apologize.
  7. And I said “complications from a fall”, which I think is essentially the same thing. But I went ahead & reworded it.
  8. From Primetimer: TV Mega-Producer Leonard Goldberg Dies at 85, Due to Fall-Related Injuries He, of course, was—with the late Aaron Spelling—Executive Producer of, among other TV shows, numerous 1970’s hit action/police procedural shows which aired on ABC (such as Starsky & Hutch, & the original versions of S.W.A.T. & Charlie’s Angels), as well as ABC’s other shows, The Love Boat & the original Fantasy Island. For the last 10 TV seasons, he was also the Executive Producer of the CBS hit police procedural, Blue Bloods, starring Tom Selleck.
  9. To whomever did it, thanks for adding the episode tags. I’ve been wondering about what to do with those. But the episode title still needs a 0 (zero) in front of the 9 in the ep number, if it’s still possible for Mods to edit thread titles. Please & thank you.
  10. From CNN: Auburn Football Legend and Heisman Trophy Winner Pat Sullivan Dies He died due to cancer. He was 69 years old.
  11. Could a Mod please put a 0 (zero) in the Ep number? It appears I forgot it in setting up the thread title & I can’t add it myself now, & it’s bugging me that it’s missing. Thank you.
  12. Timothy Omundson did interviews recently on both the Larry King Now talk show, which streams at a site called Ora.tv, & the new The Kelly Clarkson Show, the syndicated daytime talk show hosted by the singer, current The Voice coach, & first winner of American Idol. Here’s the whole interview with Larry King. It lasts around 23 minutes & change, & I think it’s worth watching in full & very insightful as to what’s been going on with him since the stroke (SPOILER—at least presumably if you don’t watch This Is Us: He doesn’t move/use his left arm, at all, during the course of the interview—that surprised me, because I didn’t realize it may still be affected by the stroke; otherwise, I think he looks/sounds good). Besides the serious (about the stroke, how his career has been affected by it, etc.), Larry also asks Tim for his answers to a set of random questions, like many other celeb talk shows do with their guests, & Tim finishes the interview by answering questions submitted by social media (mostly Twitter) users. So far, I’ve only been able to find what may only be part of the Kelly Clarkson interview. If I find what I’m positive is the whole thing, I’ll post a link. I haven’t checked the site for her show yet; it might be there.
  13. Regarding the bolded: A report in The Las Vegas Review-Journal says Harry Morton died of a massive heart attack, brought on by coronary disease and several blocked arteries. It also said that the office of the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner ruled that he suffered from coronary artery disease & had a mildly enlarged heart.
  14. From Primetimer: Days of Our Lives Reportedly Renewed for Season 56
  15. Teilor & her family moved to LA (so it would hopefully help Teilor’s career) early in Season 7; if I counted right, Grace should’ve been 14 then—as I remember, the character was a year older than Teilor is. So she (Grace) should’ve been 16 last season, when she was in the car accident & she should be 17 this season, & of reasonably close age to be a High School graduate/College Freshman (I graduated High School when I was 17; by the time I started College, without taking off more than the time between my graduation day & the first day of the fall semester at my chosen College [no “gap year”, etc.], I was 18 thanks to a summer birthday).
  16. Grover’s daughter’s first name is Samantha. I’m thinking she should be about halfway, or more, through (undergrad) college, but not quite ready to graduate yet, & she shouldn’t be ready for grad school yet either.
  17. Regarding the bolded: I don’t know who decided the Joe White character should die, or why (other than we get to see Alex exhibit more manpain onscreen, which is something he does well). But Terry currently appears in Perpetual Grace LTD, a show which streams/otherwise airs on the Epix channel; he also has, or will have, a role on Emergence, which airs on ABC (I think).
  18. It’s Marissa Jaret Winokur. With no hyphen between Jaret & Winokur. (It sounded like you were asking for a spelling correction, so I’m offering 1–no offense intended). She’s best known for the Tony-winning role of Tracy Turnblad in the Broadway musical version of Hairspray. I didn’t even know the unhappy wife was her. I didn’t recognize her & I missed the guest credits. They go too fast, & are way too small in a lotta cases, these days.
  19. I got the idea that Alex wanted to write the most recent Doris chapter because none of the other writers, including Lenkov (& granted, he oversees 3 different TV shows which film in 2 different places, so his writing time has probably become more limited), had done anything with her in practically forever, in TV terms. So he decided to pick up the storyline, to see what she was up to &, perhaps, to just get it over with & kill her off since nobody apparently knew what to do with her anymore (at least part of the reason for the fact she’s been “in the wind” on CIA missions for so long after the character’s introduction—& I get that Christine Lahti had more roles available to her, & that she wanted to do, which would keep her away from Hawaii on those long stretches).
  20. From TV Line: Hawaii Five-0/Magnum P.I. Two-Part Crossover Set for January Each episode airs, back-to-back, on January 3, 2020. The Magnum half is done filming; the Five-0 half is almost done. The Magnum characters involved are Magnum, TC, Higgins & Rick; the Five-0 characters crossing over to Magnum are Junior, Tani & Quinn.
  21. I find it interesting that only Randy, the consultants, & the other employees at Kleinfeld’s seem to be allowed to pull dresses from the racks (or at least they seem to frown on the clients/entourages doing it), but it seems perfectly fine for clients/entourages at Lori’s salon to help pull dresses from the racks (granted, Lori’s salon probably doesn’t stock as many dresses as Kleinfeld’s does).
  22. I wonder how many couples who got their wedding dresses from Kleinfeld’s (& the Atlanta shop, for that matter) on the show have ended up getting divorced since? There obviously has to be more than Angelica & JJ.
  23. Me too. But soap operas are still a dying breed on network TV, ever since All My Children & One Life to Live got cancelled.
