  1. If you don't wanna go to the Town Hall, you should be able to get an absentee ballot mailed to your home, which you then complete as usual & mail back. We can in Indiana, anyway, at least after we complete an application for an absentee ballot (which is actually shorter than it looks--you don't have to fill as much out on it as it looks). You ask for/get/complete/mail back the application, then they send you a ballot.
  2. I think I read somewhere, maybe in another post in this forum, that the new co-host is supposed to be announced during November Sweeps.
  3. You should probably watch next week. Masi Tweeted from the set during filming of the Halloween ep, so Max & his Keanu Reeves character-inspired costumes will be back this year. https://mobile.twitter.com/MasiOka/status/768286536781619200?p=v
  4. She's also written 1 or 2 cookbooks, was the co-host of the daytime talk show FABLife which started in the fall of 2015 & has already been cancelled, & she co-hosts SpikeTV's Lip Sync Battle with LL Cool J, the rapper/actor & star of NCIS Los Angeles.
  5. Laurie Holden Cast As Stan's Love Interest in S5. http://tvline.com/2016/10/19/the-americans-laurie-holden-season-5-cast-fx/?sf39340916=1
  6. I'm not sure if this is new or old, but Bradley posted this pic on his Twitter, without explanation or comment, Tuesday night. https://mobile.twitter.com/WhitfordBradley/status/788605065082920961/photo/1
  7. I think it probably depends on the designer, the airline, & what they're looking for in a uniform for their male flight attendants. What surprised me most was the purple/eggplant color of at least the female's uniform since it's so far off from Delta's corporate colors--airline uniforms normally include the airline's "livery" (color scheme on the plane's outside) colors; Delta's colors are red, white, & blue--none of which appear in the uniforms except on their wings. They haven't had a non-red, white, & blue uniform in a long time. I'm just surprised Zac chose purple/eggplant, of all the non-Delta colors he could've used.
  8. I think the newest promos for the Flay tournament are somewhat annoying, because they act like he's never, ever been on Chopped before & he has. He's judged at least once, during special shows involving Food Network Star participants & winners. But this will be his first experience as a competitor (once they get to Round 4).
  9. Couldn't find a Zac thread, & this isn't really about the show, so I'm posting here. Awhile back, maybe as far back as that team challenge to design uniforms for Susan Sarandon's ping-pong related "social club", Zac was asked to redo the "frontline" uniforms (flight attendant &, I think, customer service) for Delta Air Lines employees. What he came up with was unveiled today. There's a photo gallery of the designs at the top/middle of the article: http://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/flights/todayinthesky/2016/10/18/delta-unveils-new-uniforms-60000-frontline-workers/92360172/
  10. In a nutshell (I had a longer answer which wouldn't post, for some reason, & which didn't save), Indiana is probably thought of as being firmly in Trump's pocket because: 1. Our sitting Governor is his running mate. Since we have a "connection" on the ticket, we're supposed to be voting for "the home team", as it were. 2. Indiana is, as far back as I can remember/have paid real attention to Presidential politics, a traditionally Republican state. The only time that I can remember, at least in recent history, that we went Democratic was when President Obama ran for POTUS the first time, in 2008. Then, sadly, we reverted to Republican in the 2012 election when President Obama defeated Mitt Romney.
  11. Pence is currently my state's Governor--at least when he's not on the campaign trail. The thing that makes me the happiest about Trump picking him as running mate is, whatever happens (& I'm praying the Clinton/Kaine ticket wins; got my absentee mail ballot, but still have to send it back), he's not Indiana's Governor anymore--at least not until 2020, when he could possibly run again (he's only in his 1st term here) if he loses the VP office (please God). Hopefully November 8th will bring the Hoosier State a new Governor with an LGBTQ- & female-friendly agenda, & that horrible RFRA law, among others, that Pence enacted will be rescinded.
  12. Allison Janney was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday. There's video of the ceremony embedded at this link: http://variety.com/2016/scene/features/walk-of-fame-honoree-allison-janney-1201888337/ It's in the top box. But there's a couple of things you should know before watching it, if you're so inclined: 1. Live events being how they are/can be, the ceremony doesn't actually start until about the 15:25 mark in the video (when you hear Hooray for Hollywood playing). You might as well miss the boring parts (laughs). 2. Mary McCormack & a bunch of the other cast members--Richard Schiff, Dulé Hill, Josh Malina, Bradley Whitford, & Melissa Fitzgerald (CJ's Assistant as Press Secretary, Carol)--attended (basically everyone who just campaigned together for Secretary Clinton in Ohio); I'm pretty sure there's pics up on their social media feeds. Also, before the ceremony starts, you can see Mary McCormack (in gray & black) on the right side of the screen, near a guy in a blue jacket & white shirt; Allison goes over & talks to them at 1 point in the video before things start. 3. Hrishikesh Hirway, the guy Josh Malina does the The West Wing Weekly podcast with, was also there (& there are pics on the podcast's Twitter feed). But I don't know if it means the ceremony will end up in a future podcast or not. 4. Richard Schiff is 1 of 2 speakers on Allison's behalf before the star is actually unveiled (the other is Chuck Lorre, who produces her current TV show, Mom). While going on about how he only has 2 minutes to speak on Allison's behalf, Richard then does an hilarious around 11 minute speech on how Allison called him to speak on her behalf, what he said when he accepted, how he contacted the rest of the cast & his fans in the Twitterverse for what to say about Allison (& what they responded), & singing her praises as a fellow actor & human being. Richard's presentation starts around 22:00 minutes into the video; he's introduced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President & CEO, who hosts all of the star ceremonies, after Allison's brought on stage. Richard's part lasts until about 33:00 minutes in, maybe a little longer, maybe a little less.
  13. The part of 1 of Danny's sisters has been cast. Her character name is Bridget. The character will appear in the 10th ep this season (or roughly about 5 weeks from Friday, the night Ep 705 airs, if there are no pre-emptions between now & 5 weeks from now). http://tvline.com/2016/10/17/hawaii-five-0-missy-peregrym-cast-danny-sister/ No word if she's supposed to be the mother of Eric Russo, aka "E-Train", Danny's nephew who seems to have replaced Charlie Fong as Five-0's go-to crime lab tech, or not. Somehow I don't think so though; she seems a bit young, unless Eric was supposed to have been a teen pregnancy. I think Eric's mother is the other sister I remember was mentioned once in passing, I'm pretty sure in another ep with Eric in it. That sister was named Stella. And I remember the mention, because I wondered, when I heard it, if the name "Stella" was a nod to Melanie Griffith's real-life daughter with Antonio Banderas, since Melanie's been playing Danny's mom, Clara, on the show. I just can't remember, right now, which episode Danny's sister Stella was mentioned in. EDITED TO ADD: I Googled & Danny's sister Stella was mentioned in the S6 premiere. And now I think we have the names of all the Williams siblings, for those who care (not necessarily in order, though I think Danny's the eldest overall, & I know from canon Danny's definitely the eldest of the brothers): Danny, Stella, Bridget, & Matthew.
  14. Bolding mine. Gilles was also the second husband of Rachel Griffiths' character on ABC's Brothers & Sisters a few years ago, & he has other credits besides that, the Sex and the City movie (which you at least imply is the only thing he's known for besides DWTS), & his 2 runs on DWTS.
  15. Since we have threads for our Presidential Nominees, I felt it only fair we have a thread for their running mates, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine & Indiana Governor Mike Pence, the gentlemen who'd be "a heartbeat away" from sitting in the Oval Office in the event their ticket is elected & something unexpected happens to either Secretary Clinton or Mr. Trump & they cannot fulfill the duties of the office of President of the United States. ETA: The Kaine/Pence topic has been split by the moderators, so this is now the topic for Governor Mike Pence only. Thank you!
  16. Bolding mine. Trump sold the Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, & Miss Universe pageants, I think a year or so ago, to, like, William Morris Entertainment or some other media conglomerate after he said or did something (I forget what now) that started another "anti-Trump" controversy & caused most or all of the pageants to be dropped from broadcast TV for a year or so (Miss Teen USA, as recently as this year, was the only pageant that was just streamed online). So, unless he still has friends at the national or state pageant levels who'll "take pity on him" (read: suck up to him), he can't just arbitrarily go backstage & be pervy while the girls are changing their clothes, under the guise of being the pageant owner, anymore.
  17. @NewDigs: It was actually at the annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner where President Obama made fun of Trump, not at a National Press Club speech/event.
  18. I was watching & AOL IMing with a friend in another state. We both think Elisabeth Röhm's character will probably resurface & wreak some more havoc sometime around the season (still hoping not series) finale, like Stephen Baldwin's character did at the end of S2 & beginning of S3, like Nick Jonas' character did in S4, & like I'm pretty sure Wo Fat & Gabriel did as well. Yeah it was weird having Danny gone at the end of a case he'd worked the rest of with the team; maybe we're supposed to think whatever was up in Jersey that he was needed there for was an emergency, even though it wasn't described as such. But I do like when they take the trouble to insert a throwaway line explaining his absence, even if it bugs others when they do or when they don't. It's the 150th episode Scott will be missing as well--that filmed as Ep 707. Since this week's ep was Ep 704 that should air 3 weeks from last night, if there are no pre-emptions between now & then, & hopefully Scott will be in both of the next 2 eps since he's missing again in 3 weeks & he says he gets 5 eps off per season (he's gotta save 1 or 2 for the last half of the season [laughs]... just saying). Since I was paying attention to my IM I was listening more than watching, but I thought I heard Scott's voice in the preview for next week... for what it's worth. When it started going around that Scott isn't in Ep 150, Lenkov confirmed it on his social media & said they tried everything they could to get the schedule conflict worked out so he could be in it, but it just didn't work out. I don't know how accurate this is, but I heard he was off somewhere in NY state, if not city, filming something & his partner, Kacy, & their daughter came with him. It wasn't like he flew off to LA just to be with them, without any other reason to be there. If he were taking time off just to take time off while Ep 150 was filming, I would think they could've worked that out so he had at least a small scene or 2 in it & still got his break. I think he had another legitimate commitment that week & as hard as they tried, they just couldn't fix it so he could do both things at once, like they usually can (like last season when Masi Oka was doing H50 & the Heroes reboot at the same time, & this season when Masi's apparently been doing a movie & some other stuff & his extended absence has been covered for via Max taking a sabbatical from the Honolulu ME's office to work with Doctors Without Borders for awhile).
  19. He was in New Jersey for some reason that wasn't explained or discussed further. Kono (I think) mentioned it to Chin & Grover, I think when they were discussing the case, or Steve & Alicia being missing, in the big room with the touch table.
  20. I think they meant "OK", in this case, as in "alive". Not necessarily as in 100% uninjured. Their first concern would be if they're alive; their second would be over any injuries & their severity (or lack of it).
  21. Besides being smart, the crazy psychiatrist would have had to go through the same training as medical doctors in other specialties, so she should definitely know where/how to stab Steve & Alicia in the back but leave them alive & functional until (thankfully) when they were rescued by the team (or, in the alternative, until they were killed by the people Dr. Gray got to do it for her).
  22. Well, he was a bit younger when the show began filming. As he said, his most recent birthday (& Scott's, for that matter, since they're back-to-back, born in the same year) was his 40th, & the older you get the harder it can be to do demanding physical work, like stunts--which Alex likes to do (I think he's licensed in stunt work in Australia). I don't know that doing the stunts wasn't a great idea; maybe it was more like how many per season & what kinds of stunts they were. I wouldn't completely put my money on the end of Alex's current contract being the end of the show, like he said. A number of other actors have said the same thing about their shows, then they've ended up staying with the shows longer if not until they're cancelled by the network. We'll have to wait & see if he sticks to that, if the ratings "comeback" so far this season holds, how CBS feels about continuing since it's shot on location (& therefore more expensive, especially when original cast salaries, in particular, normally grow the longer a show stays on the air), & how the rest of the cast feels about continuing, among other things I'm probably not thinking of right now. But I do know it seems like Peter Lenkov (the showrunner) is willing to work on the show as long as CBS will keep renewing it, for what that's worth.
  23. New interview with Alex from Australian media. Among other things, he says he's signed through next season (S8), if the show goes that long. But he thinks he's ready to leave the show when his contract ends, due to the amount of injuries he's racked up from doing his own stunts--he cites a shoulder injury (which could be from as far back as S1) & a back injury, in particular--as well as wanting to be able to move enough to play football with the grandkids when that time comes. http://www.news.com.au/national/breaking-news/alex-oloughlin-on-his-hawaii-fiveo-exit/news-story/002b6f603f395e7bd7eb65298d77beaa
  24. Not only is Trump a father of 5, the youngest of which is his 10-year-old son with Melania, he's a grandfather of *8*, thanks to 2 of his kids with Ivana: Donald Jr. & his wife Vanessa (*5* kids), & Ivanka & her husband (3 kids, including 1 born during this campaign "season"). Eric, his 3rd child with Ivana, is sort of recently married & hasn't started procreating yet. Tiffany, his youngest daughter, from his marriage to Marla, is still single.
