  1. Candy Spelling had the first gift wrap room that I heard about. She had like two of them. But then she said she wrapped hundreds of presents a year. So that to me was weirder than have a gift wrap room. I can actually get on board with someone that scrapbooks. I get cute cards from them and then see some of the books they put together for their kids graduation etc. But I cannot, cannot understand calligraphy being a hobby.
  2. I'm watching tonight's Chicago episode. I've signed on to ask the the hell kind of hobby is calligraphy? You write scriptie letters to friends? I'm confused and anyone that wants to explain it to me you're welcome. Also did they say at some point that their closet consisted of adult garanimals? Or are they color blind? I can't decide.
  3. Kate said a couple of times that she was not comfortable. I bet she was hoping that she had a couple of more tasks to learn before she had to do it. And on top of that she clearly stated she was not good with technology. But kudzoo to Leeza to help the team succeed. I have to say her spokeswoman in the commercial really showed you how good she is at what she does. It made me think well of her as a person all around. In fact that is what is happening for me. People I thought I knew are different than I thought. Some I think better of, some I think less of and there are a couple like Kenya where I go, yup that's exactly what I thought.
  4. Well if that's what she's working at she better ramp it up. On the list of people that think they are God's gift Geraldo and Kenya are at the top. Kate doesn't even look like she's on that list. Viveca is on the list but not the top. Same with Iain.
  5. I agree. It is interesting in that Brandi's go to of ramping up the drama by over acting everything is coming off as anxious. I thought she was just making things worse and it looked so out of place. The choice of someone with no technical expertise nor camera expertise as project manager was weird. Liza Gibbons is probably kicking herself since this would have been a perfect time for her to step up. Now she'll end up with something more risky. Let's face it all of these PMs need to rely heavily on the team. So maybe Liza is thinking that with a smaller group she'll have better results? I don't know. I haven't watched RHOA since Kenya came on. That's how disgusting I find her behavior. But Trump loves that stuff. He still loves all that is Omarosa. I would ask 'who raised you' all day long. Geraldo is the same. It's all for drama. He looks so lame running around the loft on the phone. I don't even think he's funny. That heavens for Fox News or that poor man would be unemployed.
  6. It is an Australia chain but I think they moved too fast. Last time I looked they had closed all of their NYC stores.
  7. The city where I lived also has codes that limit hedge rows, landscaping and fences. I watched and even the temporary fence for the animals was around the side of the front yard away from the corner.
  8. This nearly drove me mad. I would tivo back and forth over it. I would look for that creature in every episode after about four when it dawned on me that I hadn't seen that scene. I really want to believe that Ollie is alive and that somehow his father is rewarded for looking. I really want to believe that Malik lives a long and painful life for the absolute horrific thinks he's done. It's odd I'm almost more disgusted by his behavior than the Russian killing Ollie or Ian killing his own daughter. I think I would be in the 80%. I don't need a complete package tied neatly with a bow but I really needed two more episodes for closure.
  9. Not sure why that is. My parents (of 6 out of school kids) always did that. They had one big activity gift every year and then smaller board game type things. We also all dressed and went to midnight Mass. So not sure why the staging of gift opening would somehow diminish the meaning. Hey I just looked it up and she never said the kids were bored and distracted. She said they opened them to entertain and distract the kids. Makes sense to me but then I was raised doing that.
  10. I thought the envelop was the proof of the cops crimes before he came to France? I think the journalist still has the evidence and if it turns out that would have answered the questions of the disappearance? Well I hope the journalist rots in hell.
  11. I think their size will dictate what chair they can use. Will might be big enough for a pull up high chair to the table but no way is Zoey big enough for that. She will slide right out. Not sure what experience folks have with foreign adoptions but children never forget the feeling that they were not always the center of their universe. Foreign adopted kids have support groups even as adults. Different children have different struggles with it but they do remember forever.
  12. And Jen and Bill are not fools. They see how crazy the internet gets if Kate G would yank a treat out of one of the kids hands just to maintain discipline. There has to be a part of them that want to be liked. So we won't Duggar or Gosselin level of rules and regulation.
  13. Gosh this killing fish is just too fun to quit. Here is how most of the fish we eat gets dead. This is from the Australian organization RSPCA. So they get suffocated. Or gutted alive. Australia is looking into other methods. Full disclosure, I'm an omnivore. I don't care to be a vegan. I also don't think it's my place to force a vegan to eat meat or products that come from enslaving animals. But I eat meat/fish/dairy knowing full well how my food gets to those nice plastic trays at the supermarket. I see nothing that Bill did that was cruel or unusual.
  14. Man are we still talking about this? All smaller fish that you eat suffocate. It is not like cows were they actively kill them. Large sport animals might be shot but that is mostly so they don't injure people on the boat. There was nothing unusual about the fishing trip. It is not something all people are comfortable with. If you arent then you should be a vegan. But if Bill or anyone else wants to fish I don't see it as a moral failure.
  15. Looked like something that happens all the time everyday on piers, boats, on oceans, lakes. That's just one of the things that go on. It looked to be what we call a bullhead and those aren't good eating but people do eat them. Throwing it back in the water probably insured something bigger ate it cause it was nice and fresh. I didn't see them as dismissive. They were fishing. That's fishing. Is the fish not living any different than the squid they were using as bait?
  16. This depends on her position in the hospital. If she actually lives in Galveston she would need a apt or something near the hospital and would at times be required to stay there a week at a time and often on weekends. There are very specific guidelines on distance to the hospital. In larger cities this actually means there are areas that are simply too far away.
  17. They have been around a while. It's part of the reason I have painted cabinets. The thought of this big slab of stainless in the kitchen reflecting the fire in the living room fireplace was just more open a plan than I'm comfortable with. So I looked at panel front and hidden. I went with hidden. I saw photos of the last 3 kitchens this same person had done and every one of them had integrated. For the record Bertazonni has about 8 colors. Viking has a 6 month lead time for colors. Wolf does it as a custom piece. i don't know where things will end up. I know that there was a time all countertops had just a 6 inch curb on the back and no tiled backsplash. That wasn't that long ago.
  18. I did an open plan or whatever and hated the thought of appliances in my living room. So I wanted integrated and a colored range since it could blend in with the cabinets. Let me tell you a decent colored range costs much, much more than a stainless. I found three brands, Wolff, Viking and Bertazonni. So now when I see stainless I think, poor dears just couldn't afford anything better.
  19. This is how sad I am. If I were Dean I would get her to declare those 127 vaults (127!) worth $500K. Then I would divorce her ass and be gracious enough to simply take the cash value of half those vaults.
  20. Fascinating and they better show me this again next year. Since Project Runway jumped the shark I just don't have enough of this. I'm not surprised the shoe guy won. We need some change in fashion for shoes. I really am tired of the stiletto look. I thought the discussion of him designing for 5 other brands to 'pay the rent' was really interesting. I wonder sometimes how they manage groceries when they are just starting out. Again I like Ryan's aesthetic. I would like to see a wider range and there is no way I'll ever own one of her pieces unless it goes to factory made. Even then I'll be looking at the third mark down or Gilt. I will be watching Wes Gordon. I just think he can make the long haul. The LA event was nice in that Vogue styled it. Suddenly items made more sense in a wardrobe. I would love to know what happened to the Indigo pieces. Rag & Bone laughing about the babies and suggesting perhaps a designer could use puppies in order to compete. I did think that was the point that this years top ten really out shown last years. The whole show looked so good. And like the panel it was when the plastic purses finally seemed like design. I am leaving Fashion Fund on the tivo wish list so that next year I'll won't miss a thing.
  21. I would like to ask Tori where she thinks those hot dogs she feeds the kids come from. They come from a slaughter house. That is where meat comes from. So boo hoo for the little pig that the sellers KNEW would die being separated that soon from it's mother. The sellers didn't care cuz they got a lot of money from Tori and didn't even have to feed and care for the pig before it was wiener ready. If you care that much about a pig and a slaughter house then please become a vegan and have your family become vegans. Then I believe you.
  22. Grey Ant - I have tried these on and my reaction was the same as DVF. They are very comfortable. Extremely well made. Big lenses that actually clear my Anna Wintour cheeks. Plus they have a really hip edgy look. They do look different than most and that is hard to do in the eyewear business. What is the purse lady doing in this group? Still don't get the jewelry as high design but what do I know? I do like the hat lady and Wes. Orly not so much but not because they don't have style. It's just not my style. I do get Ryan. She really nailed that challenge. I was impressed.
  23. Good news! They are calling for input on what we want to see on season 2. Season 2!
  24. I think if anything gave the surfers an advantage was that they knew how hard it was to surf those wave rides. She said , I've done that. He said, it's really hard. The conversation made it sound like she was confident but he hadn't done it and knew just being a surfer wasn't all they needed. I think they chose the task hoping it was as hard as they thought it was.
  25. I think it was sincere. Here in the US we assume that if we say we will have a 36" refrigerator that there is no discussion. My friends in Berlin/London both said that the craftsmen will make another decision for you. The refrigerator was a big fight. The cabinet maker decided that the refrig was silly big and 'you don't need that, this is better'. So I saw a lot of the Amsterdam as being the same thing. The stairs were built for a standard upright, not a large American side by side. The brick on the front facade? You actually saw a workman saying 'no we do this'. So I bet that was the last straw for the hubs. They mentioned that at some point they wanted to do some work on the master bedroom level. My guess is for more privacy on that floor. My question was - where are their bikes? Are they coming in that white front parlor? I think they have a garden in the back. Maybe the bikes have access to the garden? It's going to drive me nuts.
