  1. Count down to Lauren Lyle as the lead in the ITV series Karen Pirie debuting in the US on Britbox. And now I see her in a new movie, filming in the sun in Dominican Republic. It is called Something in the Water. The writer is from Edinburgh and the director is a woman with some serious credits to her name. So this is a rather big deal.
  2. There is so much I like about this series. The South African locale for one. The characters and the actors portraying them. Then the format is just different enough than the standard male & female investigator. Really nicely directed, edited and filmed. So this is a keeper and I hope the author wrote a dozen books.
  3. And another one from AcornTV. Recipes for Murder with Aunt Jocasta. https://bleedingcool.com/tv/recipes-for-love-murder-acorn-tv-series-set-for-september-debut/
  4. Britbox is saying October for the US market. So I like Britbox since they are turning these over fast.
  5. I watched the new Netflix documentary on this whole saga. I must say the costumes were dead on. Sean Penn’s make up was dead on. The voices all seem to echo the right tone. Not sure why the criticism because it was a good representation of what when on. Interesting that the female journalist was not Helen Thomas but the actress is a dead ringer for her.
  6. I remember watching Dean testify (ya I’m that old). Hearing Mo explain how she could present herself however she needed and that she could teach him. Well I don’t want to spoil it but suddenly what I and the rest of the world saw makes so much sense. I was watching the characterization of Dean leading up to this episode and wondering how this could be the same man I saw testify. Now I know.
  7. Gaslit stars Julia Roberts and Sean Penn. It’s a fascinating story, well told. Great production values. Starz. So like so many great performances and production in Outlander this gem is going to never see a wide audience or awards for their work. Starz, why you be so mean? If this was on Apple or HBO it would be all over SM. Crickets if it’s Starz.
  8. Speaking of Tom Christie looks - When Allen takes the baby’s coffin from Claire Tom Christie has a look that says he figured it out. At least that’s how I saw it.
  9. Oh gosh, Rosemary Woods ‘What is my brain doing up there.” I sat and laughed out loud. Like really laughed out loud. God love them, whoever made her such a twit from the start.
  10. I remember this back in the day. It seemed so extreme a reaction to a wife’s defense of her husband. And then much later the truth came out. I loved that Kellyanne Conway’s daughter was deemed Trumps Martha Mitchell.
  11. I just needed to stop a second but it did cause me pause. I wish all of the ‘labeling’ indicated 9 then. I mean there are people that will need therapy to go from 8 to 10. Not me, I’ll be fine.
  12. Question on Finale - Last week we had Episode 8. This week we have Episode 10. DId I miss something?
  13. Vigil is now on Peacock. Lauren Lyle and Gary Lewis in a great thriller. I was just going to watch the one episode at a time but ended up binging.
  14. This series just showed up in Hulu for anyone wanting to catch early Rege-Jean.
  15. Midsomer Murders must be the Law & Order of the UK. Tobias as a butchers son was so cute.
  16. And the detective’s sharp intake of breath was so good you really didn’t need any dialogue.
  17. I’m counting Oliver’s coats. My fave is this episodes plaid patchwork.
  18. I loved that Oliver didn’t even blink after hearing it was 13% alcohol just said Cheers.
  19. Analysis of a woman that successfully fought off a murder attempt by using skills she saw on Walking Dead said that one should always go with what you dream/fantasize about as a weapon. You’ll be comfortable with it and you will know you can succeed. So using that theory Mabel should absolutely carry a knitting needle since she’s comfortable with it.
  20. I notice that both Martin Short and Nathan Lane are noticeably ‘low key’ compared to things I’ve seen of them in the past. And I appreciate that. I wonder if this was the direction for all of them. I quite like Gomez in her part. She definitely reminds me of the 20 somethings in my life.
  21. I’ve watched both seasons. They hit the second season renewal 2 episodes in because it was so good. Selena came off as engaging and authentic. One of the first was with a chef named Ludo, well known as a bit of a a$$hole. He was yelling at her while she tried to get that swirl stir down with a French omelet. By 3 episodes in every chef she worked with was like, Ludo? Yikes. Eyeroll. But she held herself together and finished that omelet with a smile.
  22. More Midsomer Murders, which I now believe to be the British version of Law&Order for casting. I tuned into S3E3-Judgement Day to watch a young Orlando Bloom in the role he had when he heard he booked Lord of the Rings. And guess who is the butchers son, Tobias Menzies. So this is circa 2001.
  23. I’ve watched with an equestrian and she thinks that is one gorgeous horse for a lot of reasons I don’t remember. I’m like, it’s big and pretty. You are not alone.
  24. This brings up a burning question that I have. Jamie and Claire are often seen with a cotton ball dabbing at each other? It looks like they’re stenciling? One of my friends said that they are like washing but wouldn’t a cloth and scrubbing work better?
  25. Ok, I actually do have input. Claire told the goat lady that she was afraid that they would use her to capture Jaime. That they would hold her hostage. This is actually one of the few times since the tropical heat hit that she shows critical thought. If they do NOT have her Jamie will move heaven and earth NOT to be captured. If they do have her he will march on board like it’s his new home. So at the very minimum what she can do to keep him safe is not be on that ship under the control of Left Tenant Leonard.
