  1. I have good luck untangling chains with pins and patience. Putting the chain "knot" in a little puddle of water also helps. The knot seems to become looser and easier to separate with the pins.
  2. Finland is NOT a "cheap" place. I was shocked at the price of food and hotels. But is so beautiful. Just plain gorgeous. I would love to go back, but I would have to save up for a long time to afford it. I would say a package deal would be the best bet. You would run low on funds very quickly just eating on your own.
  3. This has always been a grip of mine--fold marks. I hate it on "decorating" shows, also. How many times have I seen new curtains hung, complete with the fold lines from the package. Irons don't bite--really! At least run items through the dryer with a damp cloth. Or use a steamer.
  4. Is anyone else getting kicked off this site with a "temporary technical problem" message? I have received this message several times this afternoon, after which the the site closes. I cannot log in as I usually do, but can get in if I go back to my browser and open the Previously TV site. However, I do not have to log in again as my login info is still in place and active.. This has happened several times and I have not had this happen before. Is this just a glitch in the new set-up?? The above was written yesterday, and for some reason did not post. Today I have not received the "technical problem" message, but all of my topic pages have reset back to page 1 instead of coming up on the last-read post. Is anyone else having this experience? (Now to see if this will post today...)
  5. Piece of cake. I've done it twice, and both times it was actually a very easy procedure. You are doing the worst part tomorrow (the prep). You are "out" for a very brief time, and are ready to eat as soon as you leave. Good luck!!!
  6. My mother has called my father "Dad" for ever. It's no big deal in our home. (They've been married for 72 years.) I do not think it is odd, but rather a term of endearment.
  7. Wait a minute. The ingredients list has frozen green beans, and the instructions (all recipe version) says canned green beans. Which is it? Canned beans have much more sodium, and taste different. I really can't tell what kind of beans she is using from the picture.
  8. I recently met a woman who has a "seizure" dog. The woman has epilepsy, and the dog is specially trained to warn her when a seizure is coming. This lets the woman get into a safe place or position (like sitting down) in time. The dog was extremely well behaved and specifically trained to alert in case of seizure. Having the dog allows her to go out in public, attend concerts, etc. It was pretty interesting. I would love to take my kitten shopping or to church with me. I'm quite sure other people I came in contact with would not be as happy. I do think there is a real place for therapy dogs, but, I agree, I do not like to see "pets" passed off as well-trained ESA animals.
  9. No problem. I really like this holder because it is extremely light weight since it is filled with micro beads. I've been using it with my iPad pro in it's case, and it holds the iPad very securely and easily. "Look Ma, no hands" 🙂 Mine is sort of teal blue.
  10. I made the original post. I have the Lap Pro mini from Amazon, and I love it. It is listed as "Amazon's Choice". There is a choice of colors, patterns and sizes. The mini is perfect for any reader up to the new 9.7 iPad Pro. Hope this helps.
  11. I wonder is she actually knows it should be "want to". I doubt she has had any education in correct grammar and usage.
  12. Delightful here, too. Had the doors open most of the day. Actually, I would like more winter, but NOT the horrible wind/rain storm from a couple of weeks ago. That was scary.
  13. I'm watching this season because someone from my town is on, but I am really finding this show so stupid. In seasons past, you could actually learn something about cooking. Now it is just people acting dumb as they can. And what is with all the antics and hijinks. I used to have a lot of respect for Anne as a chef/teacher. Not so much any more.
  14. I had an implant when I had a tooth that cracked sidewise and lengthwise. The procedure was not bad at all, but it was around $3500, as I remember. I know there are places around that advertise "whole mouth" implant services, but I have no idea about their costs. I do know that dental tourism to Mexico seems to be popular, and the costs are much less (or so I've heard). No first-hand experience with that.
  15. I use Walmart pick up and I live alone. I find I don't impulse shop when I order online. They carry a lot of gluten-free products that other local stores don't. It's free with a $35.00 order, and there is no tip allowed. Produce is doable, but other stores are better. Another reason I like the pick-up is that I'm afraid to shop in the store. Too many purse snatchings and the occasional shooting.
  16. As stated above, no snow in the valley in California, but we experienced a bad rain/wind storm last weekend. A tree branch went through the roof of our church building last Sunday night and flooded our Sanctuary with 2 inches of water. I had not seen wind like that for several years. My power was only out for a few minutes, but my brother, who lives farther south of me, lost power for several hours. I had a $1500 dent put in my car Sunday morning, I'm guessing by someone's door being caught by the wind in the parking lot. It had to be a very hard hit. Off to get a rental tomorrow so my car can be fixed. Thank goodness for insurance. The dented fender is interfering with the driver-side door. There is supposed to be more rain coming this week. I never complain about rain, since we have experienced serious drought conditions in the last few years, but I do not like the hard wind.
  17. I guess we should be glad she that this wasn't an activity that she participated in. I can see her helping him "build" this tower and encouraging him to climb it so she could take the picture.
  18. Amazon has one very much like mine--maybe the same one. Lap Pro mini universal beanbag lap stand. I know mine is the same size as this one. Amazon seems to have several to choose from. I use mine almost every night. Hope this helps.
  19. I have a reading pillow that I really like. It is a bolster-shape with a "shelf" to hold my ereader or ipad or book. If I fall asleep, the reader doesn't fall on me. I also don't have to hold it in my hands to read. Works for me.
  20. My church uses Port because of the higher alcohol content.
  21. We brought our own cake to the restaurant for my parent's 70th wedding anniversary.
  22. Nope. I wear 8N if I can find them, but medium width is usually fine. Just ordered some new Merrill mesh clogs in a second color. I'm not a shoe diva, so I buy expensive and wear them for several years. Comfort and fit come first with me.
