  1. ecards is free with a lot of choice. I just sent a birthday card to a friend this week. Jacquie Lawson has beautiful and unique cards.
  2. What a nice idea. I didn't get my ashes this year. It's hard to believe it is already Lent!
  3. 2nd dose done. I'm starting to feel a little chilled, and I doubt I will be going to Ash Wednesday service tonight. My prayers are with everyone in the storm areas and those without power. Stay safe.
  4. Has anyone heard from @Jynnan tonnix lately?
  5. I actually gasped when I saw that picture. She is kidding, right?
  6. Josie was supposed to be Joy's baby, but Jana had to take her because of her health issues.
  7. RE: the name Dick as a first name. I had a sorority sister with the last name of Dick. I had a student with the last name Zuck. I had a great-uncle with the last name Butts. The fact that his first name was Shirley did not help. I think his kids or grandkids changed their last name after he and his wife passed. He was a nice man. Shirley is one of many names that were common men's names that we now consider names for women. Leslie, Marion, Ashley, Gayle, Evelyn, and Vivian are some. I'm sure there are others. I personally knew a Shirley (great-uncle mentioned above), a Gayle, a Marion, and a Vivian.
  8. Or enjoy FT's toy collection. I just hope the swords and knives are high enough on the wall.
  9. My doctor had me stop. My eyes were better with it, and still as good without it. I used the vials until they were empty, too. The thinking on Restasis has changed in the last few years. I don't think it is considered a "lifetime use" med anymore--at least that is what my Dr said.
  10. It does look like a dog bed. How do you put sheets on it?
  11. Your doctor can call in the prescription. Just show the pharmacy the "coupon" on your phone when you go to pay. Your pharmacy will put your GoodRX number on your account (you will get a number when you sign up on the app.) You can always ask your Dr for a written RX. Pharmacies are used to using GoodRX. Sign up for the app, and they will help you when you need meds.
  12. GoodRX is a free prescription plan that is an app on your phone. The prices really are quite good. You put in the med you need, and it shows you prices from several drug stores in the area. You select the ""coupon" you want and go that store. Show the pharmacist the coupon on your phone, and you get that price. I use GoodRX instead of my RX plan most of the time. It is usually much less than my copay. GoodRX also has doctors for video visits. Good RX has nothing to do with your RX insurance. It is an independent app on your phone.

  14. I just checked on line. GoodRX.com has a blog that has a lot of info, as does the CBSnews.com site. It looks like there are a lot of pharmacy chains involved, and shipments are coming in this week. Both of these sites mention which pharmacy chains in which areas will have vaccine. I hope this helps.
  15. I don 't know if it is just my state, but I have seen articles lately that say that vaccine will soon start being shipped to pharmacies instead of the state programs. In Nevada it appears to be Walgreens. In California it appears to be CVS. I would try to find out what pharmacy chain it is in your state and take out a loyality card. That way you will be on their notification list. That is how I got my appointments. It may be several chains, and not just one specific one; the article wasn't clear about that. My first appointment at Walgreens was very smooth. When I signed in on their web site, I was given a choice of 3 times to pick from. When I signed up for my 2nd dose, they knew exactly what date I needed to come in, and, again, gave me a choice of 3 times. 2nd dose is this coming Wednesday. But keep checking the pharmacies. I don't know how well this will be advertised.
  16. I'm really starting to think and maybe they have realized that having photos of their kids online for millions to view is not a safe idea. Maybe they are just sharing with family.
  17. The "kids will be kids" comments are a puzzle to me. Isn't this group into "instant obedience"? Don't they brag that they have total control over their kids? Can't have it both ways, folks.
  18. So, 13 years old now. I guess that means in 4 years he'll have a girlfriend special friend, and be married in 5 years. Poor kid. And a father in 6 years. Whoa, time goes fast!
  19. It's not just the Rods who are inconsiderate. When Josie was born and in NICU, the Duggers were allowed to stay in a huge, beautiful victorian-type home/mansion. The kids were roller skating and pulling other wheeled toys on the beautiful hardwood floors and stairs. I can't even think how much damage they did. But, not their fault. They are special.
  20. This is how I spend most of these cold evenings. I am in my recliner and covered in cats. To give some perspective, Flora is on her back and you can see her eyes looking at you under her paw (like she is shielding her eyes from the light), and she is partly sitting on toothless Lilly who is curled up being her pillow. They started a wrestling match on my lap about an hour after this picture was taken. I have found I can keep the heat turned down a bit since I have a living cat blanket!
  21. For people in CA in the Bay Area or the valley, I just received an email from Sutter saying they are taking appointments now for Covid shots. You can log into your My Health account, or they give a phone number to call. As I thought, there is no cost.
  22. My mom is living in a wonderful assisted living home. Her dementia is getting so bad that she really needs the care. They have been totally shut down to visitors for months now, and since I have moved I have not seen her. Yesterday my brother went to visit her through her window and FaceTimed me while he was there, so I was able to see and talk to her. It is so sad. She still thinks she is going to live with one of us (not! happening). She has always had a very high opinion of herself, and felt that she is better than every one else --and I was never good enough. It is very sad to see her personality continue. She won't participate in any activity, she eats in her apartment--both are probably good things because she makes comments out loud about other people. But the care she receives there is wonderful. Hospice took care of my dad there until he passed, and they were so kind. She is were she needs to. be, and fortunately she has the means to pay for it. But it is so hard to see her unhappy and confused. But I know she is safe and cared for.
  23. I think you are correct. However, when students see football getting more support than their choir or band, it is disheartening, and it does not go unnoticed by the students.
