Poor Betty and Ted Corday. They must be rolling over in their graves, shaking their fists, cursing their son, and wishing they'd disowned him after what he's done with their beloved show. 50th years on the air is a big deal but it should be a tribute to the past and set a new legacy for the future. Flashbacks of the greatest moments/most famous stories alongside a respectable story like a real wedding of a real supercouple (if they still had one around), not a wedding that serves as nothing more than a plot device and culminates in a sex scene where Aiden is thinking about killing Hope and Bo arrives just too late to stop his wife from having sex with another man. Bo/Steve's entrance was lack luster/simply non-climatic, and the Hope/Aiden sex scene was simply distributing.

I'm really loathing this new Ciera. The Bronx-like accent (or at least I think that's what it is) is horrible along with her use of "man" and the whole tough girl attitude is not appealing. I keep feeling like she's emulating Jo from the Facts of Life.

So if Aiden dies, does that mean Bo kills him? What happens to Bo then since PR is not back long term? Are we looking at his death a few months down the road because I don't see him giving his Fancy Face up, especially when her new husband is dead?

AGREE! If this is the best they can produce for a 50th anniversary then maybe it's time to close up shop. Honestly most of it feels like a big FU from Corday to the fans. Kayla was a nurse in the 80's. When she returned in 2008(?), whichever year she last came back, she was a doctor then. Apparently she had gone to medical school in the years she was not in Salem while Stefanie was growing up and Steve was believed dead.

I’m sorry but this 50th is just lame. No flashback and the most farcical wigs and costumes imaginable. Hope, Kayla, Theresa—all attractive women did not look so today. If Bo on the motorcycle w/Steve on the back doesn’t come riding down this aisle to break up this wedding I’m going to be sorely disappointed over the incredible missed opportunity and visual. I'm already figuring the show doesn't have the money for the Bonnie Tyler song. ;-) Speaking of Bo, I hope all of his lame ass family and friends who don’t believe Caroline or Steve feel like total shit when he comes back. Carolina had a real call on her phone; they call it back; no one answers—well of course that rules out it’s not Bo??? WTF! The treats of today’s episode though was the actual nod to the show’s history w/Abe and Tamara Price. Too bad MM couldn’t have made a cameo. Bonus points if the show could have scored her and Gloria Loring for a duet. Also, Abigail handcuffed to the Horton cabin bed and it’s not for kinky sex with a Dimera—Priceless! Can we just leave her there for all eternity?

Two thumbs down for Season 3 Such a letdown and a waste of talent. Did the same writers write this season as the previous? The pacing was awful. The big story of Spevak from S2 was down played too often in favor of the gypsy mob crap and Shelley’s love story. The resolution to Spevak and saving Nadia was very anti-climatic. Olivia’s imaginary friend was annoying. I don’t understand why Pryce didn’t just kill Olivia and put her out of her misery—he certainly had opportunities. Pryce’s death was disappointing. Roman’s death pissed me off. I didn’t care that he killed Destiny because her and Peter both acted like morons w/the whole Andres thing. Annie was a self-righteous, hypocritical bitch. The sex scenes with Roman might have been hot but it was beyond wrong on her part as she knew he was her brother all along and knew how he felt about having been forced into sex with Letha. Speaking of Letha….the big secret that her baby was fathered by Roman was never really revealed to Norman or Peter. What a missed opportunity. It should have ended with Roman’s character growth and him embracing being a father, raising the child with Peter; maybe Shelley as a nanny. Shelley and her man getting the baby and the only people to have an HEA was just LAME!

I wouldn't be surprised at all that there's some truth to the rumor that KM is dating someone affiliated with the show. Something is keeping her on the front burner and the ratings certainly aren't justifying it. Days has been known in the past and present to favor certain actors or get rid of fan favorites based off of personal likes/dislikes. It certainly seems to point to more a matter of who you know or who you blow than whether you can give a compelling performance or bring the ratings out of last place.

And this is exactly why I'm outta here once I get the answers to Sami & EJ's letter and see Kayla and Steve reunite. After that there is nothing in Salem for me that can justify looking at Trollop being propped every week.

This is probably Corday's brand of "romance." ;-)

I'm so over the stall tactics keeping Bo & Steve from Salem. Maybe if the show paced itself better they wouldn't have to write ridiculous plot devices in order for the duo to make a staged appearance at the wedding/bicentennial. Like why does Steve not try calling Kayla??? "Hey Sweetness, I found your brother, baby. I"m bringing him home. Tell Hope." It would be a lot more effective than Bo calling his mother with dementia!!! Because of course no one is going to believe her.

I hope I'm wrong as it will grate me to no end that they wasted PR's time back with him barely interacting with any of the major characters, but between Corday and the writers in recent years, stupid seems to be the norm. The 50th is all about shock tactic and it wouldn't exactly surprise me that the bozo powers-to-be would think it was a great thing to kill off Bo on the big anniversary day. Since he's proclaimed to hate Supercouples this would be right up Corday's alley.

Will it be Aiden or will it be Bo? Sadly I'm afraid it will be Bo and Aiden will just go to jail. Fingers crossed she dies in childbirth.

Somehow I think Marlena talking to the suspect alone is a big no-no. Do NOT like the new Ciara or Chase. This SORAS seems so unnecessary.

Probably till next Friday ;-) Only about half of the Salem's weddings ever make it to the alter yet alone the reception so perhaps Eric is just being prepared. Honestly I'm surprised Eric is even planning on letting Marlena around a wedding given how that whole Brady/Kristin one went.

That was such a joke of a statement when Ben said that because I just kept thinking that Abigail never goes to work anyways. No one would miss her. Speaking of Trollop, I thought she once again came off as a spoiled princess today in regards to their money situation. I realize Ben is a killer and it's a cruel twist that he'd accept the reward money but she doesn't know that. She definitely came across as someone who never had to think or worry about money a day in her life. I too have wondered about SN's contract. PR is temp. Typically I'd expect lots of flashbacks and fond remembrances for their 50th, but sadly I don't think that's how it will play out. The mood of the show as of late has been doom and gloom. They are far more likely to kill off their beloved vets for the 50th blow out rather than than pay homage to the show's rich past. So the stylists working on KM are all blind? I can't believe for a minute they think she looks good. Hope and Gabby have gorgeous hair and it looks nice most all of the time. Abby's would only be fitting if she'd been trapped in one of Stefano's tunnels for a month.

What in the hell did KM do to the hair and wardrobe dept? TPTB might love her to death but clearly someone else there hates her guts. Her hair today! That dress! My lord I don't know what was worse. Surely Town Square has a maternity shop that sells something more flattering than that black and white striped sleeveless disaster that showed her bra. And half asleep without a shampoo I could muster a better updo. Now Hope's sexy number that Jen was brave enough to purchase...I kept wondering if it would be Aiden, Bo, or Rafe who finally gets to see her in it. Aw, the problems of being Hope Williams Brady. Well, I'm not sure Billie or Carly were any kind of prize, though I suppose they never put Bo's life in danger that I can recall.

You are getting very close. Should be in the next few episodes as it happens during the jewel smuggling storyline. :) Since these two are my favorite as a couple I'm probably biased but I always thought it was done well--plenty of passion and intensity.

I'm finding this a big problem with the new writers. They disregard necessary conversations and explanations in favor of action scenes or in this case a gas leak. I did like Steve's lines about "gossiping" and "my bad." Aiden had to have just reached to the lowest of the low today. He meets the woman's son for the first time, comments about family, and then makes the final decision to off her. Low. Very Low. Kayla’s rant today showed one thing…this girl is so sexually frustrated it’s not even funny. Boy I hope Steve takes care of that when he gets back to town.

Ah, the good old days and the good old villains. Except in this instance he had terrible timing. In 1986 you needed a score card to keep track of all the people that cock-blocked Steve and Kayla. Dandesun, I can't wait till you finally get to the big kiss!

A plane crash now? Really! Cue a sinking ship next or some sirens to lure him away from Salem. And Chad doesn't remember now! How convenient. Just what we need, a selective amnesia troupe. Somehow I'm sure he won't forget Trollop though. Heaven forbid some male in Salem would fail to find her wonderful.
