  1. "KM gained new insight into motherhood when her character gave birth" OMG! Seriously? This girl really is dumb as dirt. If she thinks motherhood and childbirth are anything like she acted out she's in for a big surprise.
  2. I didn't even watch today but reading the comments I can assume it was another 'excuse Abigail's bad behavior' days so I see I didn't miss anything. It's propping like this that gives me no desire to tune in. But Happy Holidays to everyone here!
  3. Too true. It's like Kate Moss is her idol and someone forgot to tell her the heroine look went out with the '90's. I guess it works for her fake dying routine but really the girl needs a more flattering hairstyle, make-up, and wardrobe for her small frame. She must report to the same people who won't wash KM's hair or fix KdP's roots.
  4. I remember that too and never understood it. Sami didn't threaten to not donate the money to the kids at all, she simply said she'd donate to another hospital.'s children's wing. Either way the children were not being slighted. The same amount of funds were going to a children's program.
  5. The family dynamics is irrelevant in a business situation as they aren't supposed to be acting in any kind of family role. They have to be impartial. Kayla had to look at the situation as chief of staff of the hospital, not as either of them's aunt. Sami wasn't using Kayla's position for a favor. She had valid evidence. It would be no different if a fellow employee brought the information to Kayla and her sole motivation was to get Abs's job. Again, her motives might not be pristine but the information is still true and valid. It's why if you don't want to get fired, you follow protocol. It's completely unprofessional to disregard policy and expect to keep your job because your aunt is in charge. In that case then Abigail is using Kayla's position to her advantage. And I'd totally agree that if Kayla couldn't do her job in that situation then she should be fired too. Maybe then she'd learn a lesson about hiring family.
  6. I don't think Sami did think EJ would screw around with Abby. She wasn't expecting that. Hell, even most viewers didn't see that coming because it was so badly plotted. But then the writers of 2014 were not the writers of 1987 when characters actions actually made sense. As already pointed out by Happytobehere in a very insightful post a few back, Jack could have seen Steve & Kayla coming a mile a way. He was pulling strings that set a disturbing chain of evens in motion from the day he arrived in town. He wasn't blindsided like Sami was; he was simply delusional. The situations are totally different. Sami didn't manipulate EJ away from Abigail and guilt him into an engagement with her only to be surprised when he cheated with Abigail. Just the opposite, Sami and EJ were the established couple with Abs as the interloper just like her father was the interloper in Steve and Kayla's relationship. Kayla should have remained non-judgement because it was her job to handle the situation of an employee violating hospital policy in a non-biased manner. Sami's motives were irrelevant. Abigail acted in a way that was in violation of hospital policy. If Kayla couldn't perform her own job of terminating an employee who broke the rules due to family relations, then she needed to turn the issue to Anne, head of HR. It's why a lot of companies in the real world don't allow for employees to be related if one employee is management and the other isn't. This is very much the case at the local hospital where I live. You can not work there in non-management if a family member is in management to avoid situations as such. Related employees would have to be either both management or both non-management. Sami, on the other hand, didn't need to be impartial. She was simply the whistle-blower reporting what she knew. Nor does her ethics matter in this situation as she's not an employee of the hospital. Abigail was and that's why ethics was an issue when it came to her. I'm not sure you are looking at this from a corporate standpoint.
  7. Yes, Julie and Hope share the same mother, Addie who Doug was married to first. So Julie is Hope's stepmother and half-sister.
  8. NuCiera is super annoying. I just cringe every time she's on screen. So Edwardo nailed the overprotective father role and welcome to Salem, Eddie, where everyone is too close for comfort. Six degrees of separation there is not. He's already put together that JJ has dated both of his daughters but JJ stopped short of telling him he also slept with his ex-wife. Awkward. Of course, it's probably only a matter of time before Eddie sleeps with Kate who already slept with his son. Meanwhile over at the town square, Julie, I-married-my-mother's-husband, Williams passes judgement about Victor moving in his ailing geriatric ex lover. I'm starting to feel like this show is scraping the bottom of the barrel.
  9. If Sami would have grabbed Abs by her much-in-need-of-a-shampoo hair, threw her across the room, and beat her to a pulp while she screamed for help, then her reaction might have been similar to Jack's, but as it played out Sami remained remarkably calm and controlled. Jack's deviant actions stemmed from being biter and taking a bash to his bloated ego. Sami's actions were out of hurt, heartbreak, and betrayal. She was seeking "justice" as the wronged party through legally viable means. Jack took justice into his own hands when he raped his wife as punishment and to prove his male prowess. Not to mention that the background situations were entirely different too. Kayla did not love Jack. He knew that. She loved Steve. Jack knew that too. She was planning on leaving him and would have left sooner but stayed to save Jack a public humiliation due to the election. On the other hand, EJ did not love Abs. He made that quite clear to her when she stalked him to his office one day. He had no plans to leave Sami. Abigail had no future with EJ; she was merely screwing him for her own enjoyment. They both have impulse control issues in regards to their sexuality and delusions of superiority. Just watch the scene following Kayla's rape. Jack can't believe Kayla could choose Steve over him. Abigail often sounded much the same way when it came to EJ choosing Sami. But it doesn't really matter what Sami's motivation for bringing the infraction to Kayla's attention was. The point is that Abigail was in violation of hospital policy and Kayla should have remained impartial and non-judgmental and done her job. If she felt she couldn't separate the family issues then she could have turned it over to Anne who I'm sure would have been more than happy to rightfully terminate Abs employment. The fact that Kayla acted how she did was out of character.
  10. In Sami's case (as discussed well in another thread here) there were some deep seated issues, problems, and traumas that Sami suffered young, was not perhaps properly treated for, and possibly lead to some of her less than stellar behaviors. I think that's why Marlenda/John & family are judged (by fans) for treating Sami like the black sheep of the family. However, when it comes to Abigail, other than loosing her father, she's had a pretty pampered life. Their is no valid psychological explanation or excuse for her bad behaviors. But yet her family continues to make her out to be the victim in situations where she was clearly the instigator.
  11. Jack and Sami's reactions to their situations were entirely different. Jack reacted with abusive violence, committing one of the worst crimes against women, all because the wife that he knew married him out of pity and didn't love him, had returned to her former lover and was planning on leaving him. Even if Kayla and Steve had did the horizontal on the Deveraux dining room table in front of Jack, which they didn't, it wouldn't have justified Jack's extreme, violent, and illegal reaction--his violation of Kayla's body. Sami on the other hand basically presented the facts regarding Abigail's violation of company policy to her superior. Her tactics weren't violent. They weren't illegal. It wasn't even illogical. Thus there were no conclusions that Kayla should have drawn between what was happening in Sami's situation with what happened to her in the past. The only logical conclusion she might have drawn was that Abigail couldn't contain her sexual urges much better than her father.
  12. NuPhillip is just awful! I have to keep reminding myself it's Philip because I don't remember him coming off so smarmy and underhanded in the past. So once again Trollop begins to get a hint of a clue that maybe it really is her only to have her Horton the Horrible family rush to place the blame on the other person. If the portrayal of JJ and Jenifer today was meant to show how far up Ab's ass they really are, well then they pulled it off stunningly. I just can't get on board with them one bit. Oh the horror of Chad not wanting to raise Serial Killer and Trollop's demon spawn. He must be a terrible person for not wanting to be shackled to the town trollop for the rest of his life and support a kid that he currently believes isn't his while Abigail hunts down her next unavailable victim. And the irony of Jenn saying what a great mother she is only to have Abs push the baby off on grandma the first second she could. And apparently there is no fresh air in the Horton backyard since Trollop had to go the whole way to Town Square for some--which isn't that an indoor place??? Kayla/Steve/Ava disaster: I just can't with this storyline. When she was passed out on the couch I just wanted Steve to pick her up, drop her on the front lawn, and call an ambulance for her so they could be done with that mess.
  13. No she was long gone before they SORASed Belle & Shawn for their teen scene. They would have only been children when she played Eve.
  14. What a sad, predictable state this show has become.
  15. From Kayla's position as Chief of Staff the real issue was that Trollop as a hospital employee was banging a member of the board which was against hospital policy. What she might have thought of EJ was irrelevant, Trollop broke policy and thus should have been terminated. Kayla has generally been presented as a person of integrity. So Sami having to twist her arm and Kayla getting all haughty about it was out of character.
  16. I have always adored Kayla but her defense of Trollop, the demon spawn of her rapist, in the face of her own niece who was speaking nothing but the truth was utterly disgusting. The writers from 1986 would never have written Kayla that way. Kayla should have stood by Sami and tossed Abs lazy, never-shows-up-for-work ass to the curb.
  17. If only Andre had video of that, he could have used with his brainwashing streaming.
  18. You know it's a sad state of daytime viewing when the people holding my attention the most were John and Edwardo. I think that's a sign it's time to start tuning out. Oh I'd pay good money to watch that. It could even be a pay-per-view special. All I could think about every time she was on screen today was, "GO TAKE CARE OF YOUR NEWBORN BABY AND QUIT CHASING DICK!" Exactly! If my sworn enemy who wrecked my family showed up at my door and told me she was dying I'd say "good riddance" and not give her another thought except maybe to dance on her grave when she finally kicks it. This storyline with Ava is so lame. Can't they conjure up any intriguing adventures like Steve and Kayla used to go on for them? I noticed they mentioned the three prism storyline today for Bo and Hope so clearly some of the writers don't have amnesia.
  19. The fact that KM has remained front and center through two different writing regimes and low ratings points to some behind the scenes connections she has with Corday or other higher ups that haven't changed. If her fan base was really so spectacular to justify the amount of screen time she receives then the ratings would be much higher.
  20. Phillip was not Grace's father, Chad was. Phillip just had Pocket and at one time was believed to be Parker's father.
  21. If Chad is just faking it so they can prop Trollop some more, well then...puke! I'm done. TBTB's obsession with her character has been too much for too long.
  22. I was. And Ava as their obstacle is just rinse-repeat. Been there, done that. With her....with Marina...with Britta. There's always some woman from Steve's past causing a split. Couples can have a storyline without being split up.
  23. Why did Stefano seem so appalled that Andre was brainwashing Chad? Has he gotten senile? Does he need Caroline's new drug. Clearly he's forgotten he used to make a living brainwashing half of the Salemites. And if they are going to do the brainwashing bit again then they need to bring back Dr. Rolf. When Belle was cheating on BB with JKJ I was rooting her on. There was some major chemistry with MM and JKJ. YES! What was up with that? Chad's subconscious is truly scary. Either that or Andre has a weird way of brewing romance. Wouldn't it have been easier for him to just show Chad some sexy photos of Belle? Might be the most direct way to a man's "heart."
