  1. This! It's been weird because it's like Michael and Isobel love Max and would do anything for him (even misguided) but they really haven't shown him show much affection (even misguided) for them at all....at least from what I've seen. And the only connection I'm seeing between Isobel and Michael is through Max. I always complain about pilots having too much exposition but in this case I think they should have established everyone more before the drama started. Someone help me out, maybe I was distracted but what happened at the very end? Was that Michael or Max that caused the outage and what was he so overcome with angst about?
  2. Oddly, I'm finding my favorite characters (and actors) are: Kyle, Maria and Jenna (Max's partner). Hope we see more of all three. I'm with all of you - though - who have said you'd rather they went with all new names. I keep finding myself comparing the old and new characters/actors as well and it keeps me from really sinking into the episodes.
  3. Oh sure! The problem is, I found him creepy in the last episode as well.
  4. I don't know about the actor choice for Michael. He gives off a creepy vibe for me. Maybe he'll grow on me as he feels out his role though.
  5. True! But it seems most folks are coming to say how irritated they are. Not exactly the kind of flames the show probably wants.
  6. Probably not a good sign when I saw "Manifest" on my DVR this morning and thought "wait, what is that?" The thing is, I'm disappointed because I think there is a better show to be made out what happened and the basic core plot they had to work with. I get the feeling the show is trying to be too many things at once.
  7. I'm with you! I loved this part of the last episode....I actually loved all of the series up until the last episode. Like you I thought the ending didn't match, almost like it was a different writer. SOOOOOOO many speeches that lasted way too long. Totally brought me out of the experience. I did like how each child was revisited, so if they would have kept that and the room reveal an then cut out every.single.speech. I would have been fine.
  8. For the sake of ranking I'm dividing the storylines into: Jane, The Couple, The Marine, The Blue Bus Cult, and Lee Tergesen (was he in last week's episode? I totally missed him). What I'm Interested In (from most to least): Jane Lee Tergesen The Couple The Blue Bus Cult creepy masks misc office stuff in Jane's storyline ubiquitous fire in trash cans randomly wet streets the car The Marine won The Marine
  9. I never knew how much I was watching for Baz/Speedman until he was gone. I used to look forward to the show and watch it when it aired. Now I find myself leaving it on the DVR for days.
  10. A couple of things: Was Officer Bob played by Marc Blucas? I checked both his IMDb page and the episode's and he's not credited but I swear that was him. I found it believable that her date left while she was in the bathroom, but I didn't get the women speculating that he was her brother. He wasn't THAT good looking that it wouldn't be believable that they were together. I totally get Plum being turned off by being fetishized. I agree with everyone who details above how there's a line that can be crossed. I haven't dated for more than a decade (by choice, I've had a lot of folks ask even though I'm about Plum's size) but back when I did I was always concerned that I'd be someone's fetish. Total turnoff. It's dehumanizing (in my opinion). Just like I don't want to be judged negatively based solely on what I look like, I don't want someone to be attracted to me based solely on what gets them off. I also was asked several times to go to FA meet-ups. That weirded me out as well.
  11. Haven't seen the episode yet, but I'll watch just about anything for Cole Hauser (and have) so I'm going to give it a shot. If nothing else I can see if it's something Dad would like and suggest it to him because he'll watch just about anything for mountains and horses.
  12. Call me crazy, but I don't think Serena's actions of late have been out of the blue or our of character. I saw small moments of it in S1. The only difference is that S1 her positive/negative actions were probably 10/90 and now it's up to 30/70 give or take (my numbers are in no way scientific or probably accurate)....I think it'd be interesting if the trend continues and she eventually (not right away, maybe seasons down the road) leads the resistance. Or at least joins.
  13. I'm confused, my DVR only recorded one episode, but several reviews/descriptions I've read said there were two tonight? Edited to add: Okay, figured it out. For some reason my DVR recorded the Pilot on WE? And WE only had the pilot? Weird. Btw, Joy Nash is wonderful.
  14. Guess I'm okay with Baz dying since my main complaint last season was that they seemed to completely remold his character into something I found a LOT less interesting than S1. There was a lot of potential in S1 Baz that seemed to go to waste in S2 with his turn. Scott was the reason I even found the show, so I'm sorry to see him go.
  15. I'm now only watching for Hawk and Caleb.
  16. If she wanted to be a sister wife with them, she has something to lose. I can't honestly believe she didn't know what the boundaries were if they were all communicating before she even came.
  17. If I was Ashley, II'd say this would be a deal breaker with the young woman. If you can't trust her to not have sex with Dimitri at this point, I don't think she truly understands the basics of the lifestyle and wouldn't make a great sister wife. And I'd make Dimitri reaffirm what his expectations were before we tried to find someone else.
  18. And no, Tony wasn't right about the tacos if you said right before that that even more people showed up than he said would. That means that the reason you ran out was that people came who wasn't invited. Which.is.rude.
  19. Ugh, Mykelti pisses me off. Yes, she's the bride, yes it's "her day" but it's selfish asking everyone to trot outside in the freezing weather to take pics. It just is. I've never been married, but my twin is and I was her maid of honor. Lori would NEVER have asked anyone to do that. We're Catholic (but boring old white people Catholic) and the bride and groom and the maid of honor and best man (at least in our church) are supposed to kneel during a large part of the ceremony. But the best man had knee surgery a week before the wedding - freak softball accident, Lori wasn't thrilled - but you know what? She said that's fine and we had folding chairs he and I sat on instead of kneeling. Folding chairs in a nice Catholic ceremony! Didn't look the prettiest but she was like "we'll make due." Mykelti would have made the poor guy kneel because "it's my day."
  20. I actually think there's a chance this will still happen. I know I normally don't get my results for a few days - and even if you're POTUS it probably takes more than same day results. It seems awfully random for her to be at that location otherwise and would make an interesting "end of series" storyline for Mellie.
  21. But did does "they ran out" mean some folks didn't get any food even though everyone took 3 or 4 ? Or does it mean some folks didn't get to gorge themselves on 10 tacos? Or does it mean the first two hundred people took 20 and then the rest didn't get any? Because those are different scenarios. And basically my view is that Mykelti and Tony are a perfect couple. Both are insufferable asses.
  22. I don't think you have to be a romantic to like this episode...I'm so unromantic that I haven't been on a date in more than 10 years - by choice - and it's my fave episode of the season. Of course I also have a thing for Joe Cole (okay...I have a thing for any actor who plays a Shelby) so that's a major factor. Wasn't fond of San Junipero, so I'm with you on that.
  23. Aren't folks making a leap here with assuming Jack and Nicky were in the same unit? Being pictured together during a war doesn't necessarily mean you're in the same unit. I'm not saying we won't find that out later, but was there something that I missed on the photo that is making folks assume they were in the same unit?
  24. I really liked Margarita's dress and was happy it won, but I was a little confused about the guest judge's comments about it being hard to produce in a range of sizes. I'm 47 and that style of dress was popular when I was just starting in the work force. I wore dresses very similar when I was an 18-20 and believe me, they were mass produced.
