  1. Tony's end had to revolve around Ziva. But, while NCIS can exist without Tony for me it can't exist with the new characters they are bringing in. So much love Gibbs, McGee, Abby, Ducky, Jimmy and even Vance. Bye, bye NCIS.
  2. Personally, I'm going with the last 8 years were Castles books and he doesn't write women love interests very well. The only reality is the scene at the end. The delightful Castle of the first few seasons was a boring, hen pecked author's alter ego. He wrote pot boilers that did well enough to get him an expensive place to live in Manhattan and silly man he gave his wife credit for inspiration.
  3. Absolutely hated the artsy fartsy shoot up from the floor camera work in the hospital and the fast, jarring cuts with tilted camera angle. Felt a little NCIS LA which I have watched a few times. The new male character, in my not so humble opinion, would be better in LA as well. The new female character is definitely no replacement for Fornel (if that's what they had in mind) The looks of "ain't she great" from Gibbs and McGee during her interrogation was another hard sell for a weak character by show runners. This is Tony's send off? It felt more like an embedded promo for a totally new spin off. I'll watch next week and then (after a long and much loved run) I'm outta here.
  4. Loved the Reddiness of this episode, the ambiguous ethical standards. Tom and the rest of the gang - great. Can't tell you how much better I find this show is without Keen.
  5. BSOD = blue screen of death. In windows that blue screen full of code that happens when you have a significant computer crash
  6. In regard to the sound issues, it could be that the loss of Maciek Malish could have affected the mix we are used to. From the zap it article: This was a packed episode. I'm off to do a rewatch
  7. I will miss MW. Still like McGee a lot. Still find Bishop a major bore. Much as a love the Gibbs character, I have no good thoughts about next season. Think this will be the end for me. This episode was strongest when Fornell, Gibbs and Vance were leading the action. Where's Jimmy??
  8. TY all. I bailed sometime ago but come here on and off to see if it's safe to go back in the water. Always enjoy your comments. Decided it's still not time to give the show another chance
  9. Loved it. Hope William is an arc. The episode went incredibly fast for me. Definitely left me wanting more.
  10. Loved it and have little I can add to the discussion. Two things jarred me. An interracial couple would have a lot more negativity thrown at them - but this is a light show so maybe I can understand them just briefly touching the issue. The other thing that bugged me a lot was that they had Peggy in pastel lipstick - not period.
  11. I really hate Bishop. It is an uninteresting character played by a mediocre actress. Having her as the central character really weakens the show. The pace of this show was disjointed - largely because of Bishop and the letter. It would just get rolling in its normal rhythm and blam brakes and tedium. Not helped by the writing or, I am sorry to say, the directing. As someone said up thread, I am worried about next season.
  12. Health decisions are personal and not communal IMO. Not a good criterion for her decision.
  13. Adored it. Loved the more formal acting style of most of the characters - including Moriarity - in the Victorian version. Loved that they were very fair with the audience in foreshadowing the twist - Holmes wondering how HE was able to survive being shot in the head. Loved the major nod to the Paget illustrations - particularly Reichenbach Falls which was stunning. There was sooooooooo much to love.
  14. After watching season 9 and the Christmas special, I cleansed my palate by binging on Doctors 9 and 10. So refreshing. For me (although Doctor 4 was the first Doctor I saw) Doctors 5, 6, 9 and 10 are my Doctors. (Tho' many will disagree about Doctor 6 - he did wonderful Big Finish audio productions to keep the Doctor alive during BBCs hiatus and the unfortunate McCoy era) So I loved the vulnerable Doctor, the ego-centric Doctor, the Dark Doctor and the human Doctor. I particularly liked the human Doctor - 10. Perhaps because he was so accessible while still being alien. The Moffat iterations have left me very cold. So I will rejoin the world of the Doctor with the advent of a new show runner.
  15. Sebastian and Abby - OK - like them both. But really not looking forward to a double dose of Bishop - don't know why TPTB seem so enamored with the character.
  16. Thanks all - these episodes shall remain forever unwatched by me.
  17. OK, guys, spill. I want to be totally spoiled before I risk watching.
  18. Saddest Christmas song ever written.
  19. Love Duckie but Alzheimer's is not a happy ending. I soooooooo don't care about Bishop
  20. Finally watched. I cried when Sweets died. I felt nothing for Aubrey's near death and , tho' I actually like Hodgins, couldn't get worked up over his paralysis either. Don't know if it was the writing, acting, directing or the fact that I am no longer enough invested in the characters. I know that I am sick of show runners' manipulation.
  21. Arcadia, thank you for that link
  22. Well, haven't watched, skimmed the comments and I guess it is true - I'm out. Sigh.
  23. I buy from Amazon (at least I own the video and it usually is only a day late) or wait a week to view on CBS app before paying for CBS service. It irks me CBS was given free access to the airwaves for years and now wants to squeeze out more. So hopefully will never have to pay CBS
  24. Funny I was thinking Moffat might be the last show runner.
  25. My feeling this story arc has been this is Moffat giving a raspberry to Davies. "See my companion is more important to the Doctor than yours. My Doctor is willing to destroy space and time, to kill for his. Your Doctor only gave a wonderful (and less histrionic) portrayal of deep hurt." To me this season was show runner hubris played out by the Doctor.
