  1. Well Star Wars is archetypes so that makes sense. (Lucas drew inspiration from Joseph Campbell's The Heroes Journey)Strangely I was left feeling more hopeful (for the future of the POI world and our heroes) after this finale than after last season's. This WAS a great finale. ETA - Elias has to live. He would be a great asset to the fugitives and, more importantly, I really like him.
  2. I see Henry telling Jo the truth with Abe to support the story. Any bs line at this point would not do - especially after Abe's "tell her". I want a second season. BUT if this is the series ender, it is a good one and makes me happy.
  3. Alexis last week. Martha this week. Love when the family is included/show cased. Something seemed off with Espo tonight - look? But couldn't pin point it.
  4. Not to worry Halcyon - you'll notice I used it too.
  5. Yup, not happy at all about the news. (I'm happy for Orlando if he feels it's a good move for him - but not happy for me or SH). Really, OJ was the voice of humor and snark that kept us (well me) from jumping off the figurative bridge. The core 4 were cohesive and interesting. Boooooooo OT - I'm of an age group where seeing OJ written is a little jarring. My first thought is not Orlando but of a certain football player.
  6. Finally watched this episode. Can it be possible that Lizzie's acting skills are actually deteriorating. I would love to know what they saw in the actress that led TPTB to actually think she had the chops to do this role. Love Spader but he would be even better if he had a decent actress to work off of.
  7. First Castle I've really enjoyed in quite a while

Plus can you really imagine NSA playing nice with anyone - particularly the Navy agency (I assume only the Coast guard would be lower in th pecking order)
  9. Kiss of death for one of them? Amazing episode. Amazing series. Love the way they keep all the threads in play and bring them back at the end.

    OMG the Bishops bore me.
  11. I skipped the last episode and I think I'll give this one a miss as well.
  12. The music at the beginning of the episodes was so loud and mediocre that I nearly turned the episode off. Such a long gap with no Spader, I nearly turned the episode off. Tom is beginning to bore me. More Dembe and Kaplan please. Lizzie. Is neither pretty nor interesting enough to have a string of exes. Bottom line for the first time wish I had gone with my initial inclination and turned the episode off.
  13. I think Reece considered Carter his best friend and the one he most admired. She is the one he would have reached out to - if he had been capable of reaching out. In his own way he shared more of his essential self with her than others - even if that sharing had been inadequate.
  14. I loved this episode. Although the conversation with a dead friend to keep you from dying has been done, the way it was done here was excellent. The use of flashbacks that weren't flashbacks but conversations in Reece's mind was quite stunning. This show is never linear but this episode used the nonlinear exceptionally well.
  15. Eva (was that her name) no doubt already has a clique of ballet fans - she can get her immortality. There are some fanatical ballet fans in the world who make TV/Movie star groupies look like real amateurs. I can see her cult status lasting generations. She clearly has danced enough roles to be in a position to be elevated to Prima so it's not as if her dancing isn't known. And there are no doubt many videos on You Tube. The debate of her greatness can never be disproven - she can never disappoint. Rather like Rafael always bemoaned for the cutting short of his talent by early death.
  16. Ah, well. I be plebian. I loved them all the way thru
  17. Personally like CGJ and Jo. Not a love of my life relationship but a comfortable relationship to get back into dating with. Knew Detective Hanson actor had been part of a rock group - glad he got a chance to sing. Agree with all that David Krumholtz was great as younger Abe. (ETA - he was raised in working class New York so the accent might be his original) Love Lucas. I just love the feel of this show
  18. Good diagnosis. And a most understandable disease.
  19. How old is Emma? 12? You lied to me so I'm going to have a self righteous tantrum. What is the target demo for this dreck? Yup, done.
  20. It was her "imaginary friend" that wanted them to read the love story. Clearly to have us wonder if Sweets was not the invisible friend.
  21. Truthfully I was on the phone for a considerable portion of this episode. No loss. But I did like that Sweets was Christine's "imaginary" friend. Tho' I still haven't forgiven the show runners for killing off Sweets rather than finding a way for him to be out of town. 'Course it might be the best thing for Daley given the downward trajectory of the show. I like the Avalon character - so what do I know
  22. Careful. That is likely to just be pouring salt into the wounds
  23. I am always happy to see a Ryan-centric episode. Castle and Becketts relationship seemed better this episode. Perhaps because there was less Beckett sniping at Castle. The scene around the purse and Captain's test was nice, low key and felt more like an actual conversation between an adult couple.
  24. I personally really loved Glades (bloody A&E cancelled it at the last minute after season 4 - its most successful season - so the writers couldn't change the cliff hanger ending). It was charming, witty and involving thru the 4 seasons. The characters were used well. Loose ends were not left dangling (except, of course, the biggie from the cliff hanger). Was not a genre show - it was a police procedural but the best bits were the interactions of the well drawn characters. At least that is my take.
