I just finished a rewatched of Season 2 - not as bad as I remembered. Could be because so much of television this season has been so bad that really Under the Dome is not as much of an outlier as it was.

Damn, Netflix is certainly being inundated by shows that the broadcast networks are throwing away. This season, I admit I spent a lot more time on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and AcornTV than I did on broadcast TV (dumped cable almost 20 years ago with the first doubling in subscription cost)

Dominic and Elias were a parallel to Samaritan and the Machine. The upstart full of hubris and lacking commitment to his people vs the older more complex character with strong ties to his people. I don't consider this fluff or filler.

Bishop has severely weakened the team. So I have less belief in the ability to carry on without Gibbs than I would have if they hadn't filled "the girl" spot on the team. I thought the team was stronger and more interesting in that period between Ziva and Bishop.

Tho' not the same issue. I take heart from the Sleepy Hollow experience. The fight went on despite the fact that getting rid of a show runner and several characters as well as getting a renewal for a show with tanking ratings seemed an overwhelming endeavor. I think the new outlets - Netflix, Hulu, Amazon - are variables that we don't yet have a real handle on. We may not be able to change the current situation if we try. But, we certainly won't if we don't try.

Casual viewer - if you are a digital watcher, the season is available in streaming format on Amazon (perhaps iTunes as well - didn't check) I'm with you on the dreck on broadcast TV. I don't have cable but Netflix, Acorn TV, Amazon, Hulu and You Tube really are my primary viewing choices. Rather than adding to the "My Shows" list, it just keeps getting shorter and shorter.

The problem with Hawley is that he was contaminated by Season 2. I'm afraid that his character would make folks worry about the direction of the "new" show. I think it is important that the first few episodes are clean and clear on the new direction and feel. They really cannot afford missteps at least early on. It has been too long and too turbulent a year.

Since the sniper left after shooting Dominic and Elias (tho' we are unclear if Elias is dead) I imagine Fusco got into elias' car and called in the situation or got the hell back to the precinct Reese et al were in a different part of town - Brooklyn
