  1. Great episode, but they totally should have given that reporter guy an eye patch. He could have been Phil Sheldon.
  2. That was amazing. I think my favourite part was Archer showing concern for everyone else telling them they did not want tinnitus, even though he was the one threatening to cause it. Archer freaking out about smelling burnt toast was hilarious too.
  3. There was an awesome quote from 30 Rock about that. When Jenna started to gain a bunch of weight, her boss Jack did not want that to happen. His hilarious line was: She needs to lose 30 pounds or gain 60. Anything in between has no place in television.
  4. You're probably right, although there are a decent amount of Canadian companies. And even companies that are Canadian affiliates of American companies when they air commercials in Canada they oftentimes like to remind the viewers that they are part of Canada. Companies like Walmart always reference that they are "walmart Canada" in their commercials. Home Depot and McDonalds have similar tactics. Plus with the number of other Olympians that seem to get exposure you would think these women would be an advertisers dream.
  5. I wonder if part of his lack of success has been some kind of fallout for how crappy Spider-man 3 was?
  6. A decent episode. Although it could have been awesome if they had gotten Bryan Cranston (AKA Dr. Tim Whatley) to play the creepy dentist. I love Seinfeld plus Cranston is an awesome actor. Although at the end I was total expecting Barba to do some kind of Jack McCoy move and tell those two family members that the dentist was being charged with a bunch of sex crimes, plus conspiracy to commit murder or something for getting the girl's dad riled up to go kill the pizza shop guy.
  7. Awesome. Is that all the episode where Miss. Liz takes over Strickland Propane, and promotes Hank from assistant manager to manager? I really need to watch this show again, my sister gave me the first 2 seasons on dvd because she didn't want them. I have actually never played them.
  8. Awesome episode. My favourite little thing was how when hungover Leslie and Ben woke up she was eating from a little bag of goldfish crackers. I have two small children and I swear we never go anywhere without either some of those or a container of cheerios.
  9. Why even do online dating? Just go out to a bunch of places (bars, parks, wherever) with some of his CFD clothing on. Or is the stereotype about women liking firefighters not true?
  10. There was an article today in the Ottawa Citizen about how those two freestyle skiing gold medalist sisters have had difficulty finding funding and have had to go on a reality TV to try and get support. And the more I think about it the more I really don't get it, I mean is this just a Canadian thing? I mean even if you forget about skiing all together, these are two gold medalists who have an extra bit of a story hook about being sisters. Plus they are young and really attractive. You would think all kinds of companies would be lining up to try and get them to be there spokespeople. Am I missing something?
  11. Is that the same episode where Hank and by extension Peggy take over Buck's BBQ restaurant?
  12. Yea I have checked out Amazon (US and Canada) and a bunch of other places. No one has Dark Age volume one, except for secondary sellers and they are all asking crazy prices. It is weird because all the other trades are readily available.
  13. Wow those prices are nice. And from the sounds of it, they compare to a similar level of quality you would get at a restaurant (I live in Canada, and find restaurant prices are generally higher to begin with compared to the US). I am no economists but I get it is just a supply and demand thing, where if they aren't competitive with other restaurants people won't order from them. Whereas with popcorn, you want the popcorn with the movie so you are stuck. Nice to know about the alcohol prices too, I was totally imagining it being the same as what you would pay for a small glass of beer at a pro hockey/baseball stadium or something like that.
  14. Never having tried a movie theatre that offers real meals, I am not sure how I would feel about it. On the one hand it might be fun to get something decent to eat and a beer at a meal. On the other hand, with the crazy mark-up and price that theatres have for popcorn where i, what would I expect to spend on something that someone actually has to prepare and deliver? Or worse something like a beer that requires an extra licence, and possibly staff certification, for them to sell. Plus if it is real food that requires cutlery and that sort of thing would the extra noise of knives/forks be annoying?
  15. I thought that was smart of Mark. I mean you go with Lori and sell the thing on QVC then it becomes a gadget people buy that sells for 19.95. You go with Mark's plan and it becomes a piece of specialized hospital equipment that sells for $100 if not more. I didn't get the sugar deal either. The sharks seemed kind of confused that since it was made from almonds it was some kind of health food product. But really it was just a new kind of soft drink, so why not evaluate it on those grounds?
  16. I wonder if any of these new volumes coming out will push whoever to put Dark Age Book one TBP back into print. I would really love to start reading Astro City again but I don't feel like paying $60 or so for a trade.
  17. I have never really had any complaints about the price of a movie ticket. Sure it is more expensive than it was in decades past, but so is everything. Personally I think a movie ticket is an awesome deal. $11 bucks for 2-3 hours of entertainment in public. That is about as cheap as it gets. I can't go out for a decent dinner for $11. I can't even go for a couple of beers for $11. Live theatre/concerts and sports is pretty much going to be more expensive than a movie ticket. Hell tickets to the minor hockey team where I live are more expensive than a movie ticket. Sure it is more expensive than watching a movie at home, but making your own dinner is generally going to be less expensive than going out. I homebrew and making my own beer is way less expensive than going out, but I still like to go to bars sometimes.
  18. Holy crap that was funny. Pam is hilarious so I really liked this episode. Her sister being just like her made it even better. Pam's insults are great, did she seriously call Archer "dick-nuts"? Also for some reason with this show when people keep yelling at each other to shut up is something I always find funny. Also I know it is totally wrong, but everyone accusing Archer of being gay because he wore that jacket to the rehearsal dinner made me laugh a lot.
  19. I would say at best it can't be easy relative to other shows. But at the same time, it is probably easier than the majority of jobs out there that people have. Sure they probably work long hours, but so do lots of people. And most people don't work those long hours in Hawaii. And most don't spend good chunks of their work days in private trailers or at the professionally catered craft services area, or with their personal assistant who can get them anything they want.
  20. I figured it had to be prearranged too. I mean I doubt Michael can put up 2 million of his company's money without any kind of board review or anything. And if it ever got out that he backed out of the deal in the due diligence phase it would be terrible PR. Also at first I also thought that all the Dragon's might go in, but then David spoke and he was absolutely right, David Chilton has no reason for a corporate sponsorship. And like Traveller519 said it seems like the perfect deal for Michael since he can have Olympic Gold Medalists show up at corporate events of his, or entertain business associates at hotel rooms or whatever during events held in Canada. Also on a side note, those two gold medalist women were both gorgeous. I liked that they mixed it up a bit. Having some of the other options like you described, or maybe having scientists looking for research money could add an interesting new level to the show. Especially since it seems like the level of the businesses isn't what it used to be. I was amazed by that too. Although I do wonder why he doesn't try to get in on some of those partnership deals. I mean that dog shower thing, with Jim and David in on it it seems like it would be a guaranteed money maker, why not try and get a piece of that. Plus if you go in with someone else, especially experienced Dragon's I would have to think there is way less risk.
  21. I am really glad they had those scenes of Essen and Bullock telling Gordon to ease up a little. Because watching a lot of this episode I kept wondering how the hell Gordon is going to be able to move up through the ranks if he pisses off everyone on the GCPD. I mean the Mayor and the Commissioner already both hate him, so who is going to promote him past being detective? I hope they do something different like that with Kringle. I mean having her be the poor innocent file clerk who ends up being the target of crazy Ed Nygma's obsession would be way to obvious I think. Now considering how most of the GCPD is corrupt, making her more evil then him would be interesting. It is funny how out of touch with people Bruce is. While it was a nice gesture Selina is basically homeless, what the hell is she she going to do with a snow globe? It is not like she has a mantle she can display it on. Also I really want to know what is going on with Penguin. Again considering how corrupt GCPD is, how is it that Maroni hasn't heard that Fish is gone and Penguin has taken over her club? Plus the dude really needs to start carrying a weapon. If not a crazy umbrella at least a gun. When Butch and Fish had him and were about to beat him with the bat, all I could think of was if he had a gun, he could shoot them.
  22. I hadn't really thought about that aspect of the shared MCU before but you are absolutely right. Although thinking about it I am not sure if no reboots is a good or a bad thing. I mean it is good, because we won't have to see the same origin stories over and over, and the writer's can't do what ever they want with characters. But at the same time, since everything pretty much has one shot to work, and fit in with the universe you need even more levels of planning and review and oversight on top of what a big budget movie would already have, just to make sure nothing gets messed up.
  23. I really hope there is some kind of follow-up next week which shows that Maroni's goons followed Penguin and confirmed that he wasn't going to see his mother. I want to see how he gets out of that one. Barbara's parents are weird. But I also think the casting was off, especially with her mother. I mean how old is Barbara supposed to be. If I didn't know what was going on I wouldn't be sure if she was having tea with her mother or her grandmother. Have we had any hint that Falcone has ever been married/has any kids? I have read The Long Halloween a bunch of times, and I would love to see Alberto Falcone show up at some point. I kind of liked that. In this episode Jim was obviously the B plot with the Falcone stuff being more important. Not sure he would be sent back to Arkham. The only reason he was in Arkham was because he was originally in prison and he was able to bribe/trick some prison people to get him transferred. This episode makes me think he is a regular criminal not someone who should be in an Asylum. She really is. I mean how could anyone convert to being a terrorist while being married to someone who looks like that (Stupid Brody). I bought that. I mean he was fighting Jim who is a soldier/cop who has training and experience in hand to hand fighting. The guy he was fighting was yes stronger, but also a slow moving mindless Frankenstein type. In that case I think Jim would have a pretty big advantage.
  24. Wow that was probably the dumbest episode I have seen. I did love how the bad guys could apparently design and build a level 4 BSL lab in the space of a couple of days. The engineering firm I work for did the design for a level 3 lab when I first started with them. All I remember was that all of the mechanical equipment (HVAC/Plumbing) was special order, and just pressure testing and commissioning of the ducting took weeks. These guys built a higher level lab, in a barn, with not even an exhaust fan on the roof. Also if those mercenaries were such basasses why didn't they execute Joe and Steve, while they were trapped in an overturned SUV? Like I said it was really stupid. I am just glad those terrorists didn't succeed, since version 2 of their weapon might have been dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you.
  25. Yea I was wondering about the councilor thing. Not really sure it fits with what Craig said about her working with people one on one.
