Grace and Frankie picked up a few Emmy Award nominations today: Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Jane Fonda Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Lily Tomlin Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program (Half-Hour or Less) The Burglary, The Gun I'm delighted to see Jane Fonda finally get a nomination here. Lily's been nominated for each of the series' three seasons, but this is Jane's first. That category is loaded with SEVEN outstanding nominees. I'm pleased to see the Design nod also. I love the look of this series, especially the beach house.

Genius picked up three Emmy Award nominations today: Outstanding Limited Series Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie - Geoffrey Rush Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special - Ron Howard

Pamela Adlon picked up an Emmy nomination for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series earlier today. I doubt she'll win as the category is loaded with seven strong nominees but I'm very pleased to see her performance here rewarded.

This is pretty cool. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. received an Emmy nomination earlier today--sort of. Nominated in the category Outstanding Short Form Comedy or Drama Series was Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Slingshot. (ABC.com)

I love Martin Sheen, always have, but he has absolutely no chemistry whatsoever with Sam Waterston. Their scenes together are almost painful to watch and that's a big problem for the show because most of their scenes are, naturally, together. Several times this season though, MS has been paired with one of the other characters and it's been like a revelation to me. Oh, there he is! The scene with Jane Fonda when they went to buy a funeral outfit for Robert's mother was very good. The scene on the patio at the beach house with Lily Tomlin (Jed Bartlet and Debbie Fiderer together again!) was wonderful. Also, the father/daughter scene with Brooklyn Decker was poignant and beautiful. I saw the Martin Sheen I've known and loved for years in all of those scenes. I NEVER see that actor when he's paired with Waterston. So disappointing. Add me to the chorus of armchair physicians who called a TIA. I watched my mom have one so it was a pretty easy call for me to make.

I watched it again because I wanted to hear the exact wording on Kathryn's statement of sobriety. She said she'd been sober for about 8 months and then said, "I can say I guess probably that's the truth." Yeah, that doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement to me. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt but she was lying through her teeth. I used to like Shep but now he just comes across as a complete douche bag. And he looks awful. When he made some stupid comment about "What should I do, join a monastery?" Andy said he should cut back on his drinking and he completely ignored the comment. Twelve drinks a day? And to that he said, "what's normal for one person doesn't have to be to another." My goodness, if you're having twelve drinks a day, you have a major problem.

Oh wow, I missed that. Definitely cool.

I was just reading this interesting Vox article and my mind went straight to Pluie. Wildlife crossings stop roadkill. Why aren’t there more? A better way for animals to cross the road.

The agreement doesn't specify the type of therapy for which Kensie has a standard appointment. I recall reading somewhere that she may have a hearing issue. If that is the case, developmental speech can often be affected. It's possible that the "therapy" mentioned in the agreement is speech therapy. This is pure speculation on my part; I have no inside info.

Joba Chamberlain was the first thing I thought of with that clue. I honestly don't think I'd ever heard of biting midges before that playoff game.

After watching Shep's continual drunken stupor on the Southern Charm finale last night, it seems as if these two should get together.

While she may look 37, Marisa Tomei is actually 52 and would have been 8 at the time The Godfather was released. It sounded to me as if Brandon said "White Men Can Jump" not the correct Can't.

For FJ, 1962 was the telling part of the clue for me as I immediately thought of the U2 pilot. Then my brain went numb and all I could think was "Gary...Gary...Gary." Never could remember Powers. /SmacksHead We seem to have a very good champ on our hands. Two BIG payoffs so far. She annoyed me a bit on day one but now I'm definitely pulling for her!
