  1. I would like to have Lucifer and Cain as my neighbors! Now that’s a sentence I never thought I’d type.
  2. The Frenchwoman that mocked Victoris’s Dash purse is now on my list of hated TV characters. We will probably never see her again, and good riddance!
  3. It makes no sense to send Dimitri to Alaska to keep him safe. DC has cameras everywhere. People are everywhere. Not that I’ve tried, but I think it would be much harder to kill someone without being seen or caught in DC than Alaska. Also, just because Alaska is geographically closer to Russia doesn’t mean its a good place to monitor Russian activity from. Dimitri isn’t going to be sitting around in Alaska with a telescope pointed toward Siberia.
  4. It is easy to mix up members of the royal family since they re-use the same names. I know that is done in other families too, but I think it’s worse with the royals because they have so many given names and no surnames., if I were queen, I would want to give my kids names like Phoebe and Ian because they wouldnt get confused with anyone else, I’d be tempted to call my oldest son Elvis, but I guess that would cause the mustachesto just fall off from shock.
  5. I meant Piper. Has someone been watching a Charmed marathon recently?
  6. I just read this article about Princess Margaret’s morning routine: https://www.wmagazine.com/story/princess-margaret-morning-routine. The 12:30 pm cracked me up and depressed me in rapid succession. It’s too bad Margaret didn’t seem to share her sister’s love of dogs. Dogs are excellent at getting you out of bed in the morning.
  7. Baronets are not part of the peerage. As far as an earl being a big step down for a princess, some people might say that. However, an earl is not a commoner, which was my point. Margaret had choices among British nobility. Perhaps none of them were acceptable choices for her romantically, but they were socially acceptable. BTW, The only daughter of King George V married the future Earl of Harewood so apparently an earl was good enough for Margaret’s great aunt. The Earl of Harewood was also a cousin to Alan Lascelles.
  8. There are various definitions of commoner, but a common (pun intended) one is someone who is not royalty or nobility. Margaret did not have many royal choices, but there were some choices among British and continental European nobility. For example, Princess Diana’s father was only a few years older than Margaret. Obviously, he married someone else, but there were other men like him. The House of Lorde used to have over a thousand members, and the clergy were only a small portion of the membership. Prince Rainer of Monaco and Jean, Grand Duke of Luxembourg were also within appropriate age range to have been suitors for Margaret. I have no idea if she even knew them, but they are examples of other European royalty beyond Germany and Scandinavia. However, modern British royals seem to prefer marrying fellow Brits (Philip is technically a Greek prince but grew up in the UK) or Americans so a British nobleman or commoner was the most likely choice for Margaret. I imagine if Wallis Simpson hadn’t been an American, Margaret might have been interested in an American, I can see her loving the idea of shocking everyone with a cowboy or a movie star!
  9. Thanks, 2727. I am so impressed with how well the costume and set designers have done in recreating these moments. It’s interesting what the show gets exactly right, like Elizabeth’s Christmas speech dress, and what it gets wrong, like the reason Philip’s sister was flying and Kennedy’s accent.
  10. I second that. If the Queen cannot have a dress perfectly tailored to fit her, what hope is there for the rest of us? I strongly suspect the dress not fitting well was a bit of fiction for dramatic purposes.
  11. In the past few centuries, monarchs who do not have the support of their people have usually been either executed or deposed. I think Edward being forced to abdicate was a likely possibility if he had not done so voluntarily. Prince Philip's uncle, King Constantine of Greece, was forced to abdicate.
  12. Princess Alexandra, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, and Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester are the Queen's cousins and working members of the royal family. They are not dead or retired. The Court Circular listed 12 pages of royal engagements for the Duke of Kent in 2017 on the official royal family website. All three of them had more royal engagements than Prince Harry in 2016: http://royalcentral.co.uk/other/prince-charles-was-2016s-hardest-working-royal-followed-by-princess-anne-74220.
  13. Prince Michael of Kent has an FAQ on his official website that explains the "Princess Michael of Kent" title: "Traditionally, all wives of male members of the British Royal Family, the aristocracy and members of the public take the style and title of their husbands. Diana, Princess of Wales was not “Princess Diana” as the media called her, because she was not born a British princess. Her correct title was The Princess of Wales and when she divorced she became Diana, Princess of Wales. When the present Duke of Gloucester was still Prince Richard prior to the death of his father, his wife was known as Princess Richard. It just so happens that Prince Michael is the only grandson of a king titled HRH who is a second son and so there are no other princesses with the name of their husbands. The other princesses in the British royal family were all born into the royal house." There is some other interesting information on the FAQ page of his website if you are interested in titles.
  14. I agree. I think they were half gratuitous nudity and half hitting us over the head repeatedly with the idea that Tony is not suited for married life.
  15. Maybe this is a case of different attitudes for different times, but I can’t believe the only person worried about Charles not coming back with the others was the detective. Any child lost alone in the woods seems like cause for alarm, but the heir to the throne????? Did no one ever consider that Charles might be kidnapped or fall and break his neck?
  16. I didn’t understand why everyone was so interested in identifying the man in the photo. Is it just because everyone else was identifiable but him? He wasn’t doing anything incriminating in the photo except be at the party. I also find the idea that Margaret could recognize the back of Philip’s neck ridiculous. I have been marrried for 10 years, and I sometimes mistake other men for my husband from the back in the grocery store. Once I get within 2 feet, I can tell, but from a distance there are a lot of white men in their 40s of medium height with not much hair that all look alike. Also, many of them wear jeans and striped shirts to the store!
  17. I am so confused about how I’m supposed to feel about Shine. Last season he was a villain, but this season he is everyone’s support person. When did Shine start caring about other people? Was there a “Come to Jesus” storyline that I missed? Poor Andre. I saw the double crossing girlfriend storyline a mile away, but not the imaginary girlfriend. Nice pump fake by the writers.
  18. But she is among people of her stature—Mama Dubois and Angelo are terrible people just like she is. I keep hoping Andre will take her down. Usually, I can’t stand Hakeem because he acts so entitled, but I really felt for him when he gave Bella to Anika. The actor did a great job in that scene. Props to Thirsty for doing legitimate lawyer work in this episode! He’s not just an ugly suit.
  19. Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is Lucifer in a red Snuggie.
  20. The actions of this show’s characters are completely illogical. Why would the Klingons leave the only ship with cloaking technology stranded? Didn’t Kahless teach them that strategy is an important part of battle? How did someone stupid enough to let the dangerous beast out of the cage pass the Starfleet entrance exam? Wonder boy Wesley Crusher didn’t pass that exam the first time so it must be hard. Finally, maybe Starfleet shouldn’t leave defenseless the planet that provides the stuff that runs their ships. I’m trying hard to pretend that these Klingons don’t look like either TOS or TNG Klingons, but eating Georgiou is just too much. I don’t remember any Star Trek episodes where the Klingons ate people or anything remotely like people.
  21. I can't figure John out. He took some big risks to ensur that Eric didn't get killed at the funeral, but then he goes out of his way to make Eric look more guilty by lying about Marco revoking his immunity deal (which doesn't make sense because Marco doesn't have the authority to offer immunity as a detective). People will suspect baby Rocky of murdering Marco before Kevin because no one ever thinks Kevin can do anything, so why is John trying to make Eic look more guilty? It makes no sense to saves someone's life then lie about something that could cause them to be executed.
  22. Stevie is an idiot. Her siblings are in high school so her parents do not need that much help from her with them. More importantly, her parents would not want her to delay her education to be a babysitter. If she really feels like she needs to be close to home, Georgetown and GW both have excellent law schools. Surely she applied to other law schools? Unless she wants to be a lawyer on Suits, she doesn't need to go to Harvard. This feels like a rehash of when she dropped out of college. Russell is an idiot because you don't show up at someone's house and say we have to be downtown in 20 minutes, especially not downtown D.C. I don't know where the McCords live, but it's probably upper Northwest or McLean. That's at least a 20-minute drive, and Stevie has to get dressed, lock the house, etc.
  23. I feel like every season ends with one of Olivia's parents being the evil mastermind behind some plot. Quinn's speech to Fitz was style over substance. "Because I said so" is not a good reason for a presidential pardon.
  24. I agree the music hasn't been nearly as good this season.
  25. I loved Jamal shutting Lucious down in the studio. Like many bullies, Lucious talks tough but is a coward. i feel like I missed something in the scene where Grandma Lyon is arranging the cupboard. I didn't see any rat poison, but that's the kind of thing I was expecting.
