  1. I think the other kids were children of Mary's sister.. It seemed like her sister was their mom and Mary was Lily Belle's mom. I just realized that the upside of Mary being dead is I don't have to listen to her say "Lily Belle" anymore. Both the name and the way Mary said it got on my nerves.
  2. I just realized the walking plot device/therapist was missing from this episode. Not only was she not physically present, but no one thought to suggest asking the therapist if Mary could handle talking to the abusive ex-hubby. I get that Rachel on the roof makes for better dramatic tension, but a throwaway line from Quinn explaining the absence would have been nice, e.g, "Dammit, where's Grace when we actually need her?" or "Someone call Grace and tell her to get her butt to the mansion now!" KateeBar, I thought her forehead wrinkles liked wierd too. I kept thinking that she looked like a Bajoran from Star Trek of the odd wrinkles between her eyebrows.
  3. The ending was dark, but still predictable and boring. Mary's "decent into madness" didn't work for me on multiple levels. The timeline felt wrong--even if she stopped getting her medicine I think it would take several days to get out of her system completely. Also, a manic episode usually lasts months before the depression kicks in. I don't know how long the time on the how is suppose to be, but it seemed like a few says rather than weeks. The actress playing Mary Wascnot convincing. She didn't get great dialogue to work with--that Little Match Girl speech was terrible. However, she showed little emotion when confronting Anna. A bipolar person having a manic episode should be screaming, not just making nasty remarks. She didn't even cry when her ex said all those nasty things to her.
  4. I think Rachel is producing Adam, but she does have real feelings for him too. We know this because in the last episode she freaked out when she was watching the tape and saw her facial expression of pure bliss when Adam kissed her. There must be bathrooms on the set designated for staff use--I'm assuming in a part of the house where the women aren't staying. So Rachel can use one of those. I'm wondering why she hasn't moved into a bedroom after the contestants leave. I think it's part of the "Rachel is so depressed she doesn't care" theme. She makes sporadic attempts to clean herself up, but disheveled is her default look.
  5. I did not like the new judge Jason Derulo. His discomfort with every non-masculine guy dancer was obvious. I guess SYTYCD was trying to get more young viewers with him? Every year there has been less coverage of the choreography rounds and now they are gone for good, perhaps so to will go my interest in the show. Perhaps if they spend less time on coverage of power outages and famewhores, there would be time for more dancing.
  6. Who is Henry? When Lucius talked to Alistar, the Queen's lover, he said something about telling Henry. All I could think is that the kid from Once Upon a Time is going to show up. I know that makes no sense, but neither does most of this show.
  7. If a zombie eat bites a person, does the person turn into a zombie or a wererat or is it just like a regular rat bite?
  8. It's interesting that Major is going to such extremes to find out what happened to the kids, but he seemed to give up fairly easily when Liv dumped him. I realize missing children is a more serious issue and not giving up on your ex can morph into stalking, but still... However, this doesn't bother me because it clears the way for Liv and "Big Yum" Lowell.
  9. I agree. As much as I wanted the guy to be saved, it was more realistic that he wasn't. I loved Elizabeth's comment at the end about not wanting to interrogate Juliet because Juliet might give her reasons that the treaty is a farce. I find myself comparing this episode to the Scandal episode from a few week can'ts go when the Veep and Fitz tried to fix a bill. In addition to all the practical issues with that episode (ever heard of separation of powers, Shonda Rhimes?), it was just so predictable and superficial. This is TV show--Scandal is a series of video clips.
  10. I think I'm going to take a break from shopping at the local butcher shop after watching this episode. I don't understand why Blaid hired a non-zombie delivery guy. It seems like a risk that the guy could find out what's going on from working there. Since they didn't mention human remains in list of things in the dead guy's stomach so maybe Blaine isn't serving human meat to regular customers. This is what I am going to tell myself over and over until I believe it. Liv has so much better chemistry with the new guy than she does with Major.
  11. I'm not completely convinced Adam didn't intend to harm Abigail after she told him what he wanted to know. Also, Adam has been alive long enough to know that looking really sad and explaining to Abigail that he just wanted to meet someone like himself so he didn't feel so alone would have been a more effective tactic than threatening a young woman. The fact that he showed up to her house with a knife and so casually threatened that girl would have convinced me Adam might hurt Henry so I understand why Abigail thought that. People with innocent intentions don't threaten others with knives. Is it just me or had Adam's voice gotten more menacing than in previous episodes? I've seen the acor in several different roles so I know the raspy voice is a choice for the character and not his natural speaking voice. So cute the way Henry showed Lucas the home lab--it was like the medical examiner version of a secret clubhouse.
  12. I now get to add DC having a white mayor to the list of completely unbelievable things about this show.
  13. So is the police captain supposed to be a zombie? It looked like was drinking hot sauce at the end. Why is Liv the only zombie that doesn't dye her hair or use makeup? It seems like she would do those things so no one finds out her secret. of course, she also talks about eating brains at a crime scene with lots of people around so maybe she's not as concerned as her voice overs say she is.
  14. Matt's conversation with Daisy about Liz bugged me. I suspect it was just sloppy writing, but it could have been Matt trying to manipulate Daisy. By leaving out the key fact that Liz asked him to give the Chief of Staff false info because she learned that Matt was spying on her for the Chief, Matt made Daisy think Liz is up to something rather than reacting to being spyed on. Daisy sounded like a Pollyanna. I'm sure that State Dept spokespeople often don't know about cover ops missions because 1) they are COVERT and 2) the spokespeople aren't put in the awkward position of having to lie if they aren't told. I doubt Daisy's clearance level is as high as many others in State so she shouldn't expect to be told these things.
  15. The most unintentionally funny line of the night was when Michaela said to Annalise, "Have I ever done anything stupid?" I responded to the TV, "Hell yes! Let me find my list..."
  16. I think Pearson, Spector, Litt should hire a skywriter to say, "Mike Ross isn't really a lawyer" because at this point they are just telling everyone. Also, this Donna storyline was done 2 years ago. I may not have gone to Harvard Law School, but I know a show running out of storylines when I see one.
  17. PONCHO! I am stealing this idea next time I visit a friend with small children. I swear they can get sticky stuff on my clothes just by looking at me.
  18. But she looked so good in that white dress. I wish the writers were as good as the show's seamstress because that dress fit perfectly, as do most of Jessica's clothes.
  19. I don't think This means Rachel would be a bad lawyer, I think it just means she would be a bad lawyer of the type we see on this show. I agree Rachel may not be trial attorney material, but many lawyers rarely see the inside of a courtroom. Rachel has shown good analytical skills and an eye for detail-- these are important traits for drafting contracts or wills. She definitely needs to stop crying and having sex at work because those traits are just not acceptable for a professional woman. Yeah, if a family member dies I think no one will look down on a woman crying at work, but Rachel cries because people say mean things to her, she doesn't get what she wants, etc. However, it's TV so this is wat we get. No one wants to watch a realistic show about a law firm because most of it would be people doing research, filing documents, endless signing papers and stamping them with a notary seal....
  20. Heh, I spent most of the show alternating between being disgusted by the idea of POTUS sacrificing lots of American lives for one, an African-American woman being sold by a white man in the 21st century, and the constant references to Olivia as "the Black lady.". Black ladies have names, MARLA. It's sad when Huck torturing a woman doesn't even make the list of most offensive things in an episode.
  21. I think Caesar was balding and that is partly why he is often depicted with a weath around his head-- it was the BCE version of the combover or toupee. Caesar had epilepsy which would really suck to have for 2,000 years. I just don't see them picking someone famous like Caesar for Adam because it limits what they can invent as a backstory. More likely he's some fictional Roman soldier.
  22. Loved this episode. The storyline about Abraham's parents was very well done--it was honest and real in a way that most tv dramas, even the best ones, often are not. Good restrained acting from Ioan kept the focus on Abraham. There have been some great, powerful movies about Holocaust survivors and I know this episode isn't at that level, but it same that feeling of truth within a fictional work that is so important when dealing with a subject of this gravity. And yet, I still laughed at the Indiana Jones joke, and it didn't seem out of place. am I the only one who think the Roman spear will be the one that pierced Jesus's side during the crucifixion? It could be the reason Adam can't die.
  23. Donna has been a great supporting character, but we haven't seen much of her personal life like we have with April or Tom. This lack of development has made her simultaneously fantastic and one-dimensional much of the time. So I was thrilled to see a Donna-centric episode and I loved seeing the Meigle family. I want to hire April to come talk to my family at our next holiday gathering.
  24. I was all set to give Vampire Diaries for having an African-American character, te doctor, that didn't die 5 minuets after being introduced, but then the had to go and kill the African-American cancer patient. They might as well make all African-American characters wear red shirts.
  25. You are not alone. May Coach live on Iin our hearts forever! I'm still hoping to sample the drink he makes where he puts the entire coconut in the blender. On a more serious note, I went from being annoyed by Kitty cluttering up my show at the beginning of the season to finding her fascinating now. I thought the scene between her and Sherlock where he was comparing his addiction to her ordeal was great. He was trying to be kind and share his feelings in a long speech, so not natural for him, and she firmly tells him, her mentor, in a few sentences how wrong he is to think he can understand her pain. I felt her terror at the end when she heard his voice. I've never seen the actress who plays Kitty before this show, but she so much better than I originally gave her credit for.
