  1. You’re not alone. I have Xfinity and they never have the latest episodes On Demand until months after they’ve aired and neither does the REELZ app. It’s very frustrating. The only way I’d be able to catch the latest episodes is when they first air or re-air. Which will never happen since it’s very rare that I watch live TV and I don’t currently have a DVR to record the new shows.
  2. I thought Ami said they were both sent to foster care after their mom died but that Elizabeth was put with a bad family. I took that to mean she wasn’t ready to face her own responsibility in her addiction and perhaps she even had her own way of addressing things that went against their set processes. So she left. I agree with you and others about the teacher. I was kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop, revealing that he had an inappropriate relationship with her. But I guess if that happened he wouldn’t have been on the show. I did find it creepy though how he became so invested in her as a teen and is still the way, almost even more so than her family. And perhaps it’s the fact that he’s a man. If he was a woman I don’t know if I would’ve been so creeped out by him getting so involved in her life.
  3. Indeed about the dogs! This case was a mess. All over $380. SMH. I understand Trace wanting his money but going to that house to demand what he was owed was a bad move. And I don’t understand why Marcos and the older dude, can’t recall his name, didn’t just pay Trace the $380. The murder was just senseless as nearly all the murders on this show are. I also watched the case about the college professor who was murdered over a game stick. Yes. You read right, a game stick. Just sickening and senseless. Lives ruined over nothing.
  4. The show has profiled several addicts this season who are addicted to fentanyl. I’m just wondering how are these people still walking around? We’ve all heard the horror stories about even a pinch of the drug can kill you and how EMTs, fire and police officers have to wear gloves etc. when dealing with potential fentanyl cases because even getting it on your skin can cause sudden death due to its potency. Is this just an exaggeration? This drug being 100x more dangerous than other opioids? Or are these addicts being profiled getting a very “watered down” version of the drug which of course is diminishing its potency, and thus danger, significantly? Anyway, I did feel bad for Elizabeth. She had a rough childhood. Seems like the dad could’ve done more, and I think he knows that, but unfortunately what’s done is done. And now he and the rest of the family are dealing with the result of decisions made when she was a child. It’s amazing the differences in she and her sister who grew up with the same challenges but how their lives veered down completely different paths. Perhaps the older sister faired much better because she was older and of course a different personality. Some people can go through hell and still go on to live productive lives without relying on vices to cope, while others can experience the same hell and fall into addiction as a result. Elizabeth definitely has abandonment issues, which I think is a big part of what’s driving her addiction in addition to the abuse she experienced in foster care. I thought a lot was missing from that story, about what happened during the short time she was with that foster family. I wasn’t surprised that she didn’t stay in treatment. She had to be coerced into going and though she seemed to want to live a life other than the one she was living, she just wasn’t ready to face what she needed to face to start her recovery. Hopefully she’ll be able to get there before it’s too late.
  5. I’m not surprised she’s on to a new man two seconds after A-rod. She did admit years ago she didn’t like being alone. Hence the revolving door of men, but to circle back to Ben seems to be desperate even for a serial dater/ wifey like her. He is still a mess and not even suitable as a FWB. SMH. Perhaps it’s time she stop jumping from man to man and figure out why she is unable to be on her own for a while after a relationship ends.
  6. This is so sad. When adoptive parents reject the adopted child once they have a biological one, it makes me think they never saw the adopted child as their own and apart of their family in the first place. I felt terrible for Jake. He needed a complete redo from the very beginning, but of course that’s impossible and not how life works. In addition to all the rejection he encountered, I’m sure the fact that he is gay and was raised with conservative beliefs and hold those beliefs strongly within himself, creates a lot of mental conflict within him. Sadly, with all he’s endured which has resulted in his trust level being in the negative I don’t know if he’ll ever get his life on track. The drinking provides him with a reality that’s way more appealing than real life.
  7. Totally agree @Pandora My thoughts: Mike’s grandfather didn’t look much older than his mom And I’m just going to get this out up front, why in God’s name would the fiancé get pregnant by a man who is an unemployed drug addict? And continue to deal with him? He will never be any use to her or her kid being on drugs and unemployed. The first girlfriend who had the two kids by him was smart to dump him as soon as she learned he was addicted to drugs. Mike seemed like he liked to party with hard drugs, which was easy since he had no supervision as a preteen/teen and was a bit spoiled. As a result, he got caught up. Thus, I didn’t agree with the interventionist when he said it wasn’t Mike’s fault that he’s an addict. To me that type of statement absolves Mike of any responsibility for his addiction, which is untrue. I got the impression that Mike had no desire whatsoever to get clean so I wasn’t surprised when he left treatment after a day. Unbelievable that he forced himself into Collette’s apartment when she rejected him. Not shocked at all that he ultimately failed in his recovery and immediately relapsed after the three months in rehab. I wonder if him remaining in treatment for the three months was a condition of his release from jail? So he did the time required by the courts so that he wouldn’t get into more trouble, then returned to his true love the drugs and the streets.
  8. I only watched OLTL for a brief time, but I thought Evangeline/John were fire. She was a stop off for him until he returned to the dullness that was Natalie. However, I thought there was a lot they could’ve explored with the former relationship. Though it started off as FWB it did grow into more and I thought it could’ve been THAT relationship for John and Vange. But the writers abandoned that relationship and didn’t so much as allow them to share a scene after they steered him back to Natalie, and Vangie to Cristian who was sadly way out of her league and more suited for Natalie or Layla IMHO. I also thought Vangie/Kevin had mad chemistry, and would’ve liked to have seen the writers explore a romance between the two. But I think he was divorcing Kelly at the time whom Vange was representing.
  9. This. I was infuriated by Olivia’s anger at her mom kicking Amber out. If she wants to let Amber steal from her, go on binders with her money and set a bad example for her children that’s on her, but her mom does NOT have to put up with that craziness. And honestly I think if Amber truly got clean and maintained a life of sobriety, would Olivia even stick around? She was so entrenched in the drama and her savior complex I don’t know that she, deep down, even wants a sober Amber. Like others, I couldn’t understand why the ex-husband was okay with his kids being subjected to that environment. Makes me wonder if both he (and perhaps even Olivia) have their own vices. I feel terrible for those children because even though Olivia claimed she’d end the relationship if Amber didn’t get help, I don’t see that happening. I don’t think Amber is in as much pain as she claims. Maybe in the beginning before the cyst was found and removed but I question it now. She stated that she got off the drugs etc. for a year but then relapsed when the pain got to be too much. If the pain was truly that bad I find it hard to believe that she would’ve been able to remain clean for a year. I think she may be using the accident as an excuse for her addiction. Lastly, her confessionals while in treatment didn’t have any conviction whatsoever. So I was not surprised when it was revealed she relapsed.
  10. So did the mom not work at all? Don’t understand why the family didn’t move to Wisconsin with the dad when he found work there. The dad looked plastered in his confessionals and at the intervention with his cap on backwards. SMH Was not shocked at all when it was revealed he is a heavy drinker. I definitely agree with the interventionist that Lexi seemed emotionally stunted. I don’t discount how much her dad leaving to go work in another state impacted her or going from living a “good” life to living in hotels, but she came off somewhat spoiled and like someone who may have been acting out because her life wasn’t what she wanted it to be any more. She always had an excuse for why she was using, never accounted for her own choices, but that’s typical addict behavior. The mom seemed like she was too laid back and a bit in denial which may be partly the reason why Lexi went off the rails. I was glad the latter went to treatment. I hope she can stay sober but if she’s still talking to the the violent alcoholic ex-boyfriend, I don’t know how realistic that will be if she returns to Vegas.
  11. I definitely think the mom’s reaction to the rape etc. had a lot to do with their culture. In her mind, Erika defied the house rules and the rape was a consequence of that. Thus no sympathy from her for what happened. Really none of the family seemed to acknowledge the rape or be sympathetic about what happened. I too was side eying the mom when she was so overwrought with emotion at the intervention she couldn’t read her letter. She should’ve taken a moment to get herself together and pushed through to read it. It certainly would’ve made a bigger impact, I think, on Erika. The friend who was helping Erika with her sex work was creepy. I’m surprised her baby’s father hasn’t fought for full custody. Maybe he will after seeing what she’s been up to. Or maybe he just doesn’t care. I’m glad she accepted treatment and is in sober living. If possible, staying in Utah may be a good choice cause I didn’t see anything about her parents getting counseling, specifically her mother. So the issues that are between them likely haven’t improved much. If she returns to Vegas it could trigger a relapse, especially if she has to return to her parent’s home.
  12. Yes. I didn’t see an episode thread so I made one. Michael has lived an amazing life up until the drugs. Very talented guy to make it as far as he did at such a young age. Even his hustle to make money after losing everything was pretty genius. Not everyone can make that type of hustle work. I knew there had to be more behind him turning to meth than finding out a couple of people he looked up to had affairs. Suffering from mental and physical abuse as a child is no joke. That said, I still feel like a lot was left out about his history, especially as a child and even with the Navy, where he was discharged rather than “served X amount of years” then got out. I will say he didn’t seem in that bad of shape. Though homeless he always looked clean and found a nice place to stay. He wasn’t sickly thin with sores all over his face and arms, or acting like he’d lost all sanity due to the drug use. According to the episode he’s been addicted for at least 3-4 years. I’m surprised he’s been holding up so well (at least physically) for so long. Perhaps meth isn’t his main drug of choice, but was presented as such in the episode? Anyway, I knew he’d get help. He never came off as wanting to get high more than wanting to get back on track, but maybe that was just his approachable personality. He looked great in rehab. I hope he can maintain his sobriety. Speaking of rehab, I didn’t know Ken has a rehab center. Good for him.
  13. Michael moved to Las Vegas to work with the world-famous hip-hop dance troupe "Jabbawockeez," but years of family betrayal caught up with him and after turning to meth, he's lost everything.
  14. I finally got around to watching some of the latest season episodes. Its always sad to hear during the documentary them say so and so gave up drugs or alcohol years ago, only to discover they either died from an overdose or drugs was a contributing factor to their demise - Tom Petty, Carrie Fisher, Dana Plato etc. I thought the coroner saying Tom was murdered due to accidentally receiving fentanayl was a bit of a stretch. Anytime an individual takes street drugs, there's a risk of getting something they don't expect. The fact that Tom Petty was on street drugs indicates that he'd relapsed, which is very sad. It was also interesting how the coroner kind of tip toed around the cause of Billy Mays' death. Perhaps because the family disputed his drug use? That's another interesting thing about the deaths of all these celebrities dying from drugs. You always hear the same story, I never saw so and so with a drink and thus they'd NEVER do drugs. Denial is a powerful thing. I wish they'd only profile cases for individuals who are under the age of 75. Profiling the death of a 80 or 90 year old is not that big of a mystery. Most of the time the milage on the body has taken it's toll and as a result the individual ends up dying of some type of inevitable illness due to living for nearly a century.
  15. Stunned that the mom allowed Amanda to be involved with who was obviously a very grown man when she was 14. Perhaps ot was due to her alcoholism? She did say she’d been clean for 20 years. So I think that would mean she was still drinking when Amanda started dating the older man. Horrible what happened to her son, absolutely disgusting the abuse he suffered. I kind of find it hard to believe that she had no idea the father of her child would be abusive towards their child. She supposedly took a nap and the father beat the child so bad that he became paralyzed and brain damaged. Why didn’t he just wake her up if he didn’t want to deal with a fussy baby instead of nearly beating the child to death? I could understand why the child was removed from her and the father and put into foster care, but why didn’t she try to get him back? Was it because she couldn’t deal with a now disabled child? And/or because she was suspected in the abuse case as well? Despite them explaining the trauma that happened with the abuse and subsequent removal of her child from the home I feel like Amanda’s story was missing a lot. Anyway, I’m glad she went to treatment. She looked so much better after 75 days. She seems to have friends and family who love her. So hopefully she can stay clean.
  16. I was going to watch this episode until they started off with the addict vomiting. Umm no. It’s always been difficult for me to watch alcoholics being profiled for this very reason. Sounds like it was the standard Intervention episode. So I didn’t miss much.
  17. Was not at all surprised when it was revealed the mom was on drugs too. No way was she laying up on that bed day in and out watching her daughter smoke heroin without doing drugs herself. Like others I’m astonished at the toxicity of this family. This is the type of family you leave behind and never look back. There was so much toxicity and insanity that there’s no way anyone of these addicts will be able to get clean and stay clean. Those who are trying to stay clean needs to stay far away from that house and their family members. Dawn is the absolute worst mother (as was the father). I did not like her follow up with Susan. For her to bring up their time together doing drugs and how she was happy to have that time together and how Susan “saved” her was nothing short of manipulative. I’m glad Susan quickly ended the call after that comment and has since cut her mom off. I hope she will continue to stay far away from her toxic family members.
  18. Based on this article it sounds like nearly everyone’s lives went down hill after the series was aired on Netflix. Fame doesn’t always equate to fortune. I had a good laugh hearing about Joe Exotic supposedly having his team waiting outside the prison where he’s serving time with a limo, makeup artist and hair stylist in preparation for his pardon by Trump. I would’ve love to have been a fly on the wall when the last hour came and went for him to be pardoned and no pardon being received. I wonder what made him so sure he’d get out? I’m glad it did not go the way he expected. He’s right where he belongs. In prison.
  19. Goodie Mob - These guys were/are so talented. Not only were their beats on point, but their lyrics were intelligent and profound. I saw them in concert once in the late 90s. They put on a great show. Their live version of Black Ice (Sky High) was amazing. Morris Day - Its interesting how many of these musicians who become huge artists or producers were running in the same circles before they made it. Almost make me think destiny (or luck) was at play. I enjoyed Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis' contribution here. I watched an interview they did years ago at the Red Bull Music Academy where they talked about how they became mega producers after being freed from Prince. It was an interesting interview. Speaking of Prince, though obviously talented, from many accounts he seemed like an ass. And like Morris who was able to hide his addiction well, he was no doubt able to do the same being that he could spend all night writing lyrics, composing the music and vocal arrangements of various songs without any sleep. Yet when he died many came out to say they never saw him touch a drug (or even drink) during his prime. Anyway, I didn't realize until watching this how much Morris' sound and songs embodied Prince. He was a shallow verison of him, at least while working with him. After he broke away he developed his own sound which was good. It's unfortunate that Prince blocked some of his opportunities though. Perhaps he would've been a bigger star had those opportunities been fully explored.
  20. There are several episodes I need to catch up on with this show. However, I did recently watch the one on Chyna. What a sad soul. It sounded like she always had self esteem issues and was at times her own worst enemy. When things ended with the WWE it seemed to exacerbated her issues. It’s too bad she couldn’t pull herself together and make a comeback with some kind of career in entertainment. I guess the wounds she was suffering were too deep. Very sad.
  21. I agree. Additionally, they never explained how she explained to the world and her shareholders where she got millions of people’s DNA to make this concept work. This would’ve been more believable had the company been in business for about 10-15 years. I agree. Though I did like the fact that people were finding matches of different races in different countries and a different gender. I question the compatibility based on similar genes though. It makes me think of that Seinfeld episode where Jerry dated a woman who was very similar to him in personality etc. and quickly realized it was too much, and that he needed someone who was the complete opposite. Lol. I also thought the idea that the individuals who participate only have one perfect match was a stretch.
  22. Yeah I didn’t understand Megan’s behavior. First she goes Fatal Attraction when Hannah ghosts her. Now she’s trying to destroy Hannah’s marriage. I could understand her initial response to Hannah cutting off the friendship without an explanation, but then when the latter went off on her and said she didn’t like her that should’ve been the end of her trying to understand. She should’ve stuck by her f*ck you. That’s what I would’ve done. Instead she reaches out to Mark to try and understand why the friendship ended and he unrealistically engages her inquiry. This was an example of the characters acting in ways that made absolutely no sense. Even Hannah doing a match on Mark who clearly adored her made no sense and the show failed to show why she was so insecure about their relationship that she’d do something so extreme. Anyway, though Mark used Megan to see what it’d be like to screw his match (which was trifling), I too was glad that in the end he CHOSE his wife. Though clearly feeling something upon learning Megan was going back to Australia (which I don’t think she is) he did not go and see her which was a nice surprise as well.
  23. I guess I’m still the only one commenting on this show as I binge watch it. Lol Rebecca and James are scum, but she is the worst kind. And once again she destroys another life with her mess. She didn’t deserve Matheus or the happiness being with him would bring. I’m sorry he died though. I guess Meghan is now going to cause trouble by doing a match for Hannah. That’s what’s disturbing about “the one” matchmaking. People get a match and because it’s a DNA match, it’s believed to be irrefutable and is marketed as the only true match the person will ever have. As a result, some feel like their match belong to them and only them and will go to extremes to be with that person ie divorce, pulling what Hannah is pulling and maybe even worse. I wish they would’ve done a better job at matching the couples who were “matched”cause I felt like none of them had the chemistry that “the one” should have. Some of the over the top actions of those matched would’ve made a lot more sense if I could at least see and feel the chemistry between them and their matches. Also, did they ever follow up on Rebecca’s threat to the politician about her daughter’s match? I think the political angle of the story was dropped entirely. Though overall, I found this entertaining I don’t know how good a 2nd season would be. Upon reflection I found most of the character’s action served the plot more than being an organic action based on the situation the character was in. I would’ve liked to have understood how the company was launched with all that stolen DNA information. How did they explain where they got the DNA info from? I don’t think this was ever addressed. I don’t know if I’d be interested in watching another season with Rebecca ruthlessly killing people and ruining lives without getting her competence.
  24. Can Matheus really be so oblivious that he thinks his brother went all the way to London to get high and OD? The love of his life, Rebecca acts bizarrely asking him and his brother to leave London after he learned she stole DNA data from Ben, after which Ben mysteriously disappears. Then when he returns to London Rebecca tells him the cops are looking for him and in turn kicks him out of her house and makes him go into hiding. And why would he continue to be involved with a liar? Illegally obtaining patient DNA information is a serious crime. Yet he ignored this and continued to have a relationship with her. But at least he seemed to have bought a clue in this episode. I’m disappointed in Mark. I was hoping he was stronger. But sadly this is on Hannah too. London is a big city. It’s very likely that Mark and Megan would’ve never met had she not lit the fuse on the situation. Are Sophia and her brother fraternal twins? I’m starting to think either Sophia used her brother’s DNA to match with Kate. Or they are twins so Kate was matched with both Sophia and her brother. Speaking of Sophia, it’s horrible what happened during the car accident with her mother, but that still doesn’t erase all the lies. It’s amazing how people are willing to overlook egregious lies for love. Also, I’m still not clear on how Rebecca launched the company and explained how she got millions of people’s DNA to make matches? Was this ever explained?
  25. Nick is on the take. Didn’t expect that, but then with how dirty Rebecca is, it’s not surprising that she’d have a cop or two on the payroll. Of course Mark asked Hannah to stay at her mom’s so that he could explore things with Megan. SMH. Though I do commend him for showing tremendous restraint thus far. This whole match thing seems more psychological than anything. I think Mark felt a spark with Megan upon first meeting her but he never would’ve acted on that spark if he didn’t know about being matched. And WTF with Kate and Sophia’s brother? SMH
