Unless there’s something we don’t know, meaning you know Mr. Noth personally and have interacted with him, I say don’t beat yourself up over it. How can anyone possibly judge someone’s character by a few promotional interviews and a character they’re playing on TV or in a movie? We’re seeing just snippets of who these folks supposedly are and most of the time they are playing a role, even when they’re not supposed to be ie doing interviews that are promoted as “revealing” and “real”. They are all selling us an image of what they want us to see. Some celebrities do reveal their authentic selves and thus their true goodness or asshole-ry, but I think most manage to keep their dark sides hidden (if they indeed have a dark side). Regarding Noth, I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve seen him in. So it’s very disappointing to learn that he’s behaved in such a disgusting manner.

She is one of my absolute favorite horror writers. I immensely enjoyed the the Witch and Vampire series she wrote. I knew she was getting up in age but wasn’t aware she was having health issues. May she R.I.P. -
I was going to say I was surprised the Amrilyn had no idea what Moraine was up to being that she’s the leader of the Aes Sedai. I was glad to see that she does know what’s up. Though I didn’t expect her and Moraine to be lovers. Liandrin has a man! Considering her supposed hatred for men I’m shocked. I guess there really is a thin line between love and hate. 😂 I still don’t fully understand the purpose of the White Tower if each group does their own thing without consulting each other and are just short of sworn enemies. Also how does the Amrilyn get her seat? Is it via her channeling power? By vote? Or both? Why does this journey the group is commencing feels like Frodo and the Fellowship going to destroy the ring? I cannot really blame Matt for changing his mind about going into the dark unknown. And honestly I wonder if taking him is the best idea considering he’s still recovering from being under the influence of the evil dagger, and even though he no longer has it may be susceptible to evil tendencies. That said, I’d be surprised if he actually gets left behind. I guess we’ll see though. Rosamund Pike and Sophie Okenodo were excellent in this episode. I have never been a fan of the former. I’ve always found her to be one note, but this role works for her. This was a great episode.

This! I actually rewound that scene and watched it a couple of times because I loved it so much. 😂 I knew that Nynaeve was special and had some kind of power. And I knew her healing Lan was coming via her exhibiting some kind of power as soon as she starting saying “no.” I hate we lost Thom and Kerene.I really enjoyed both characters in the short time we had them.

After stating in his testimony that he knew the alleged culprits of the crime, did drugs, and even made out with one of them, I knew he was going to be found guilty. It just made no sense that two guys he was acquainted with one of whom on such an intimate level, would turn around and attack him in the middle of the night, using racial and homophobic slurs. It also didn’t help that he hung out with the “attackers” days before the attack driving around the area where the crime happened. I’m just wondering why he would do this when he had such a promising career? He was probably one the most popular, if not the most popular actor on Empire. I think he had the potential for success after the show. For him to do this makes no sense. And makes me think he is mentally unstable. -

This! I finally circled back to REELZNOW and saw that they’ve uploaded several of the episodes that aired earlier this year. I’ve watched them all. I agree about Sonny Bono. He needed to have stopped skiing. Period. Considering the medication he was taking and the numerous accidents he’d already had while skiing in the months before his death. I too am baffled as to why he continued and not even cautiously, but still skiing aggressively SMH. Speaking of aggressive, it’s crazy that Dale Earnhardt’s aggressive methods on the track is ultimately what got him killed. I know nothing about racing but I thought the method he used to ensure his teammates would finish 1st and 2nd in that race, should’ve been considered cheating. But I guess that’s not the case since there were no complaints mentioned about his method during the episode. Wasn’t surprised to see when watching the Grace Kelly episode that she was miserable in her marriage. Is any royal truly happy in their marriage? Especially those who are “outsiders” marrying in. I’d imagine being the wife (and perhaps even the husband) of a royal would be like doing time. Your life is no longer your own. Everything is dictated. That said. I was surprised that she left Hollywood so young and had such a short career as an actress. For some reason I thought she was in her 30s when she married the Prince of Monaco. Her death and life was sad, but I can’t really blame her for not taking medicine for her headaches or exploring why she was having them. Back then I don’t think people were as in tune to healthy living and treating illnesses as they are now. Neither did I. In the footage shown in the episode it seemed he was joking when he said it so that’s probably why no one took it serious. I honestly thought he was living the life being able to travel and experience so many amazing places and cultures. But then on the flip side I can see how that would get old after a while, especially when it just turned into a grueling schedule of work work work. What looked fun and exciting to us audience members was actually work for him. Though he did enjoy it at the start I think he just got completely burned out and with his depression could not see a way out of that burn out. The cheating girlfriend was probably the straw that broke the camels back. Very sad. These new set of episodes were okay. I didn’t think any of them were as compelling as previous seasons’ episodes, except for the Bourdain episode. -
I recently finished watching this. It is a fascinating story with a shocking ending. Like something out of TV series or movie. That said, her throwing in God wasn’t bad, I guess. That certainly would draw more people to the program and make her millions. It was actually a pretty genius idea because people will always flock to things involving God no matter how illogical. It was the requirement of blind obedience and isolation from those who weren’t apart of the program, the advocacy for abuse, the fat shaming etc. that turned this into something horrible. But then that is often the crux of organized religion, creating an environment in which the masses can be control and thus willing to do whatever is required to feel like they belong. I wonder how the church is really doing after Gwen’s death? The daughter who took over doesn’t have any charisma. So I don’t see how she’ll be able to continue to inspire people like her mother, but then again I didn’t think her mother was all that charismatic either. Maybe the “miserable and depressed” son can now be free, unless his livelihood is tied to the church, then I’m guessing he’ll have to continue to “play nice” with church leaders.

I agree on the first two. Never was a consistent watcher of GH so can’t comment too much on its descent into disaster. 😂 I recently rewatched some of OUAT. I’d forgotten how superb S1 was. So interesting and creative, but after that season, the show really started to spiral. Don’t even get me started on Sleepy Hollow. I agree. All the characters were likeable. It was one of those shows I immensely enjoyed escaping to each week. How the producers, writers, whomever was in charge, managed to torpedo that show is still baffling to me. It was a classic case of trying to fix what wasn’t broke which essentially destroyed the show.

I agree. The scenery is stunning. It’s a character unto itself and really does help set the mood of the series. I could be wrong, because I’ve never read the books. But I just assumed they all are. It seemed to be heavily implied as such by Moraine’s speech about the dragon in the first episode. I just started watching. I’m on this episode. I’m enjoying it thus far. Love Nynaeve. So bad ass. Though I too thought she should’ve had at least a scratch or two after dealing with the Troll. I knew she’d been carried off by the Troll and not killed. I guess Egwene could not clearly see what happened due to the darkness. And why did the Troll carry Nynaeve off and not kill her? Was there a reason for this or just purely plot to explain why she was still alive. And I too wonder how she was able to track them to the abandoned city without getting caught and killed herself? Will this turn out to be a storyline with some depth or a plot whole? Like others the spark between her and Lan is interesting.

I remember hearing about this case. There are so many out there like this about black children (and adults). Sadly, with this case I think the oldest daughter Tiona is probably dead. According to her family she was very good with numbers, remembering them by heart. So I’d think if she had an opportunity to access a phone she would’ve called one of her relatives. Diamond could possibly still be out there being that she was taken so young. She could be a case like the lady in the documentary who discovered she was a missing child 50 years after the fact. There was a similar case with an AA woman who was in her 20s several years ago. Which makes me wonder how many of these missing children might actually be still alive and either were sold into sex trafficking or taken and raised by someone pretending to be their parent.

Just finished this documentary. I thought four episodes wasn’t enough. They only touched the tip of the iceberg. There are so many more stories to tell. I will say I didn’t agree with Derrica and Natalie’s assessment about Relisha Rudy’s mother being essentially groomed to sell her daughter to a sexual predator. GTFOH! She didn’t give a crap about her daughter. Her attitude alone when questioned about her daughter’s disappearance said it all. Very telling that she didn’t participate in this documentary either. It’s sad that the stepfather, who probably wasn’t a stepfather, but a boyfriend to the mother, lost access to the kids. He seemed like a good guy and like he cared about the kids as if they were his own, but those were not his biological children and the mother did not need to have custody being that she’d so easily sell her kid off for money. I feel so sad for Relisha. I don’t know whether that POS sold her off to another predatory before killing his wife and then offing himself, or if he killed her and dumped her body somewhere. I kind of think it was the former because if he’d killed her they probably would’ve found her body with the wife’s body or somewhere near him. Very sad. I would’ve liked to have seen them talk more about the aftermath when someone manages to get their missing loved one back. It’s not all rainbows and roses because the victims have likely been traumatized. In the documentary one family member was telling Derrica that her daughter was crying a lot and she thought it was because the daughter was “so scared” by her experience. But I think it goes way beyond this. I hope these families are able to get their returned loved ones therapy. Otherwise the horror of what happened to them will continue to manifest itself in their lives, causing more difficulties. Derrick Butler was the stand out in this documentary. He did not quit. Even after Cruz went to prison for killing Derrick’s sister, he made sure the POS would never get out by persistently pursuing justice for Marta Rodriguez, Cruz’s wife, who’d also gone missing but with no traction from the authorities in searching for answers. This was a good documentary. I wish it was an ongoing series.

I'm watching this now. It's a very difficult watch, heartbreaking. Even sadder, that just like theme of the documentary, no one appears to be watching or talking about this. No one seems to be interested in those who are black and missing. Very sad. 😢

We saw this earlier today. I too was confused by Safin’s ultimate motive. Though his father was likely just as dangerous and nuts as he, I understood why Safrin wanted to destroy SPECTRE for killing his family. I didn’t understand why he spared Madeline, then proceeded to watch her over the years. Like you said, perhaps he wanted to make a family with her? He did say a person has a special connection to those whom they kill and/or saves, and that person belongs to them. So in his twisted mind I think he believed that Madeline and subsequently her child belonged to him, since he saved the former. Don’t understand though why he’d give up so easily on having her and Mathidle if his goal was to force them to be his family. Beyond Safrin’s desire to have Madeline and her daughter for himself I thought that his destroy the world plot felt kind of tacked on. Believable in that someone as nuts as him would undoubtedly try to destroy and control the world, but tacked on because it wasn’t revealed until the last 20-30 minutes of the movie The main plot was really about Safrin’s revenge and another tragic love story for Bond. I did think the last hour dragged a bit which ultimately made the movie too long. With the death of some key players, this definitely sets the stage for a reboot. I too wonder which actors will carryover to the reboot if/when that happens. I definitely think they should go 10-15 years younger for the new bond. But I’d like to see the actors who play Money-penny and Q stick around. I’m indifferent to Ralph Fiennes staying on as M. Though this one checked all the boxes for a Bond movie and was overall entertaining, I still say Casino Royale was the best Bond movie out of Craig’s series of Bond movies.

It’s almost like Renee Zellweger’s transition after her surgical/Botox/fillers journey. She looked like herself but then she didn’t. It’s hard to know what Madonna really looks like nowadays due to the surgery, heavy makeup and the SM filters. But yeah, the point is she has transformed into a different person, looks wise that is Some things never change. I can appreciate her boldness and consistency. That said I think she could’ve done the vintage corset and pearls with the Marilyn Monroe hair without including the pill bottles or “dead body” in the photo shoot but then it wouldn’t be getting the publicity she (and the magazine and photographer) were aiming for. -

Isn’t this Madonna not looking like Madonna? I’ll admit the surgery and SM filters got her looking 20-30 years younger. -
This. That’s what was so baffling, why Simon ultimately destroyed her? Was it a combination of narcissism and drug addiction, and thus an inability to see the forest for the trees? I don’t think he intended for her to die, but he certainly controlled her to the point where she did not seek medical attention likely per his direction. He controlled her to the point of death. It was sad seeing how she went from being an actress with so much potential and was on the path to having a good career, to being strung out, unhealthy, unable to remember her lines and getting fired from jobs. As I watched, I wondered how many other Brittany’s are out there. Actors/Actresses who are/were on the path to success and have/had so much potential but were derailed, not necessarily by death, but due to getting caught with the wrong person/s.

Watched the latest two episodes of The First 48. They’re back with new shows that were filmed last year. The case in Gwinnett County, Georgia, how stupid can you be to call an Uber to take you to the scene where you’re going to commit a murder and after committing the murder you call an Uber to pick you up so that you can flee? On top of that the suspect used his real name for the Uber and had it pick him up from his father’s house! This guy had to be high, utterly stupid or just didn’t care if he got caught. Or perhaps it was all of the above. Glad they caught him but this will definitely go down as one of the dumbest criminal moments I’ve ever seen. The case from last week in Mobile where the woman called her male friend to “scare” the victim because he was beating her female friend was a mess. First off, I’m surprised the woman who called the male friend wasn’t charged with murder. I’ve seen other cases like this on the show where the person who set up the attack, which is what she essentially did, are also charged. Secondly, it’s unfortunate that the guy who committed the murder f*cked up his life AGAIN. And this time for good. Apparently he’d been in trouble before but was turning his life around, had a legitimate job etc., but now will likely end up spending the rest of his life in prison over a situation that had nothing to do with him, very poor choice. Sadly, I didn’t feel for any of the victims in these two cases, except the victims in the Gwinnett County case who unfortunately, got caught up in the crazy. Thank goodness the kid wasn’t at the house don’t he might’ve been a victim as well. His meth dealer and domestic abuser father I can’t have much sympathy for. The same for the victim in Mobile who abused his girlfriend.

Yeah. That drug list was unbelievable, but likely not unusual for Hollywood. I was able to catch the following on the list, don't know if it was all of them and don't know what all these drugs do: Topamax, Methyiprednisolone, Klonopin, Fluoxetine, Biaxin, Vicoprofen, Hydrocodone, Propranolol, Ativan and Barbamazepine. Yes. They did. My understanding is several people tried to warn them about Simon. That's what was so sad about this documentary. She had with her someone who should've protected her more than anyone - her mother. And the mother sat there and allowed this man to ultimately control her and her daughter's lives to the point of killing the latter. If Brittany would not have listened to anyone, I think she may have listened to her mom, if her mom told her that Simon was trash. But sadly, the mom was just as much, or more caught up in him than Brittany. If the mom is truly sad over Brittany's death, which I have no reason to believe she isn't, I would not be surprised if she's living a life filled with regret and guilt. If only she'd been there for her daughter, at the very least took her to the hospital when she was obviously so ill, maybe Brittany would still be alive. I didn't mind the footage used from her movies. I too would've liked to have seen more home movies, but I guess that was impossible with her mother not participating in the documentary. I didn't like how they'd intersperse lines she had in her movies with something they were referring to in her real life. That came off as bit disingenious. I do agree with Simon's ex-girlfriend from Paris. I think he pretty much committed suicide. Not by putting a gun in his mouth or ODing on pills. Though the pills didn't help his situation, but by not seeking treatment when he too became deathly ill. He knew the gig was up. It was only a matter of time before he'd be exposed. He conned Brittany, but ultimately played himself too. Overall, it was descent documentary. Very sad though.

I don’t think all these fentanyl overdoses are due to folks not knowing what they’re taking. You’d be surprised at how many people out there who are seeking out fentanyl to get high. I’ve watched numerous documentaries on this and it’s more common than you think. That said, I’m surprised at how many people are still doing hard drugs and heck even weed with how so much of it is laced with God only knows what nowadays. You could be taking anything and as a result end up dead. It’s always been a risk, doing drugs. But now the activity seems more dangerous than years past. But I guess believing it won’t happen to them and/or addiction is the reason why so many are willing to take the risk. -
Indeed. Btw, great post. Some have stopped short of excusing her actions by speculating that she was blackout drunk, and therefore had no idea what she was doing. It doesn’t matter that she was possibly blackout drunk, the fact remains that she drank to the point of being completely wasted (and ingested/smoked weed) while driving with her CHILDREN and NIECES in the vehicle. Her choice to drive while drunk out of her mind and high as a kite was nothing short of despicable. Her choice was purposeful. I wouldn’t be surprised if the subject of children was ever truly discussed. Or if it was Danny probably made it clear he didn’t want kids but Diane got pregnant anyway for her own reasons. Perhaps to prove that she was everything her mother wasn’t. Or because she always wanted the house, the husband, the white picket fence and the 2.5 kids. Perhaps having kids in her mind made her life perfect and complete. She knew she’d be on her own raising the kids because Danny wanted no part of parenting.

I don’t know. There are always heirs her music rights can go to, children, grandchildren, eventually great grandchildren and so forth and so on. I’d think it be better to keep the catalog in the family so that it may be passed down generation to generation. It makes me sad that she would do this being that so many artists fight very hard to hang on to or get back their music rights. This choice makes me wonder if she’s run into some financial difficulties and needs the money that selling her music rights would bring in. Whatever the reasoning this is unfortunate. -

I didn’t think it was a dumb idea. It doesn’t take all day to give someone an encouraging word or a piece of helpful advice. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been on a brief call with an employee and provided them some coaching that’s turns out to be extremely helpful to them. The same goes for myself. I’ve received advise and coaching within a few minutes that have had a long term positive affect on my perspective and approach to certain things. And this coaching didn’t just come from folks in my career field. The 40 minutes was of course a tie to her birthday but an interesting initiative to perhaps encourage others to do this type of work with women on a regular basis. This initiative was announced by the Duke and Duchess foundation. So of course celebrities would be all over it for a few more SM likes or even followers, but this was also for the every day woman/ or man. Moreover, you don’t have to be in the same career field to mentor someone. There are many ways to provide mentorship besides giving someone insight specific to their career of choice. If all of us can find time, even if it’s for 30 minutes, once a week to mentor a woman, I think it would go a long way in helping us all.
