Great score for Shoma! A lot of these guys are doing 3A in combination with a double. Usually it’s 3A with another triple I think

I’m not. Shoma often struggles in the LP. But I love the program. Wow. Will Yuzu make the podium after all. Why was the last spin not scored? That has to be an error.

Ugly fall for the Korean skater. Strong skate by the Korean despite the fall. Lots of potential. He definitely is one of the futures of men’s skating. :) Go Shoma!

Moris looks really tall. Program was just okay. Even with the quads I’d put him behind Jason.

Also both were in the 2nd half of the program so he got the bonus points.

I don't get it either. I remember when Yuzu first started getting consistent with his quads and I believe at that time he said if he wasn't hitting it something like 60% of the time in practice it would not be put in the program. I guess it was just determination to make it happen and...obsession as to why he put the 4A in this program. I was happy to see his money jump the 3A look pretty amazing. Ever since he's started training the 4A, he's sometimes had trouble with the 3A. It was probably affecting his timing and I'm sure all the falls on the 4A attempts weren't helping.

I think if he'd skated clean he would've definitely been in contention and might've slipped in for Bronze.

Argh Yuzu. Sigh. Oh well. He's a two time OGM. I know he's obsessed with the 4A, but I still don't know why he has it in the program when he's never landed it, as far as we know.

Looks like the other Italian skated lights out. It has a pretty good score. He skated to Don't Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith. Good for him! Don't know why NBC is not showing it. I guess they're waiting for Yuzuru to skate.

This. And honestly, this really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. If no corrective action is taken on this meaning disqualification of Kamila and the ROC in the team competition, I will be completely turned off from continuing to watch the skating competitions.

I don't think the ball was dropped here. I think this was purposely done. She didn't end up at the Olympics by accident after testing positive for a banned substance. She is Russia's current golden girl and they be damned if she was going to sit out this Olympics. Now how and why the truth was exposed now is the question I have.

It was said earlier that the "debate" was over whether the drug was taken before or after arriving at the Olympics. At this point, I don't think it matters, if a test was given before the Olympics and she failed it, she shouldn't have been allowed to compete at the Games. I don't understand what the debate is about. But like you, there's likely a fight going on behind the scenes to ignore this and allow her to compete and for Russia to keep their Team Gold.

I think when looking at the schedule I saw that Nathan is not due to take the ice until nearly 1am. I hope that was a typo. Otherwise I'll be exiting stage left early too. Lol

This is the first time I've not seen them do the draw. So I don't think it has anything to do with Kwan. Moreover, with the scoring system that's no longer 6.0., judges don't really have to leave room for the individuals who are skating later. It's all about what you do, how well you do it, and how many points what you do is worth.

Carrillo has such a great smile. He looks to have really enjoyed himself.

It was great that he broke the record. And that he was pleased and excited about the skate, but going out to celebrate (and where? As someone asked, in the middle of a pandemic) would be premature, since he has yet to win the competition. Now if all goes great tonight, then I think he'll be ready to celebrate. The Swedish skater was good, but no one has done Man In the Iron Mask like Anissina and Peizerant. They killed it back in the day when they used that music for their free dance.

This cloud guy from Ukraine is walking across the ice. He looks like he's skating like a snail. With the music being so soft and calm, he needed to skate it with more passion to sell it.

I can only guess that the news will be good for the Russians and will be presented as much ado about nothing. I can't imagine them having a PC in the middle of the men's event if someone or several someone's were going to be suspended and/or penalized in some way.

Tara looks almost casual with the ponytail. I was expecting more glamour from her.

The Swiss skater got through it, but not the best skate. At least he didn't fall, just a lot of step outs and sloppy landings.
