  1. Unfortunately, as of now, there is no next season as the show's been cancelled. They are shopping around to another network but it's rare for shows to be picked up elsewhere, especially 5 seasons in as the show is getting more and more expensive.
  2. U is for UFOs. We already know Rose believes so she might not even realize she was on a sci fi movie set in the first place.
  3. I hate to be the one to have to tell you this...but...women sweat. I think you mean ath-a-letes.
  4. Stephen absolutely excels at interviewing away from the desk. I wish he did more of it. (One of my favorites was his interview with Maurice Sendak (of "Where the Wild Things Are" fame) from the Colbert Report. I recommend looking it up if you've never seen it). But the ones he has done on this show have been good as well. I nearly always laugh. Out loud. I loved the carpet bit and "I mean this as a compliment--you look dead inside." Please do more of these types of interview, Stephen!
  5. Sean Berdy was on last night's Drunk History (the third segment) just in case anyone is interested.
  6. She had a stroke that eliminated her filter and left her, in Dorothy's semi-joking words to Clayton's husband, "a complete burden."
  7. I came here just to bitch about that line. It was awful! Dear God, who let that leave the writer's room? I don't even normally pay attention to that kind of thing, but it had nothing to do with anything in that moment and was just the stupidest thing I've ever heard in a long time. Well, on a scripted TV drama anyway. It was a shithole of a line. If they had left it out I would have been fine and never noticed anything amiss. Ugh. Blech. Ick.
  8. "It was Blanche, in all the bedrooms." My sister bought me this for Christmas! I had to be Dorothy. It was pretty fun. Miles and Stan also are game pieces.
  9. Her income is likely in the $400,000 range or higher. Someone in my family is "just" a general practitioner and makes at least over $300,000. I imagine a specialist would be making more. But yeah, I don't know why she couldn't work only certain days or hours. But I guess she just wasn't ready and that's OK. But I don't know how she'll be able to do it. Will she just have to quit? She used up FMLA and I'm obviously no expert, but I don't think her circumstances of just wanting to stay home would allow her to use more, even if it was available. Her hospital will likely have some amazing program to allow for random leave for a few months.
  10. It actually does get brought up again. I can't remember exactly which episode, but Jackie says something about how when she hurt herself on the force she needed either physical therapy and/or exercise and suggests it to Roseanne. Maybe it wasn't permanent or was just enough to keep her from being off desk duty. And I don't really talk about my former jobs now that I'm not in them anymore either.
  11. Is it a bad sign it's been nearly 24 hours and no one has put up a thread?
  12. Same exact damn thing. AND I wasn't able to watch it online (well, not using the legit channels). I went to the TBS website and it just wouldn't load. I did this multiple times, on multiple browsers. And then this morning I was like, oh well, it recorded last night and it was BASEBALL AGAIN. WTF? So I've at least seen it but I had to go through sketchy links. I hope Samantha Bee appreciates my effort and potentially opening myself to computer viruses!
  13. My God, that was bleak. And I was so excited about this at first. I like Elizabeth Moss (except for the Scientology thing. We could never actually be friends). I wish this had been spaced out more. That was a lot of time in a short period to spend with such dour, miserable people. I have the same questions as you all. Why was that guy buried? Was he going to execute everyone at the beach? Why? Obviously he was off his rocker but still, why? And there were a lot of people there so why not get that going sooner? What!? with the baby bump. Who was knocking at the end? I hate when kids have all the power over their parents. My parents weren't super disciplinarians or anything, but you damn well be certain if I was acting like that with a boyfriend like that they would have called the cops or a counselor or SOMETHING! Not just "Eh, I'm gonna lose her if I try anything." Why are all the men there so skeezy? Why is everyone so miserable? Why would Mary hold onto a negative pregnancy test (because she's super adult and stuff like?)? How did Robin have that epic throw down with the guy in the wheelchair and, like, nothing came of it? So, things we know (which is shorter than things we don't)....Mary is OK. And while Julia was a total bitch about it, it does sound like she and Mary are closer due to this experience and the balance of power has shifted back to Julia some (for now). It seems that Robin and Pyke/Pike (seriously?) could be a good thing and continuing thing. Brienne of Tarth is probably dead. The head cop guy is going to take his relationship with Brienne of Tarth into the open, no matter what (even though she's probably dead?) because the baby is the most important thing? (And they mean the surrogate baby, right, she definitely wasn't pregnant herself...yeah?). Puss' cat is OK living at the Stasi restaurant (I was worried about it). (And Stasi? As in East German secret police?) Is there anything else we know for sure or pretty sure?
  14. There's when they turn Mr. Faber (the reason Roseanne quits the factory) into Mr. Wellman in the final season when she meets James Brolin's son-of-Mr. Wellman character.
  15. The funniest thing in last night's episode was unintentional... So I was brushing my teeth with my electric toothbrush as the one segment was playing. Jeez, can't even remember what it was about--maybe songs about the coast guard sailor water guy type person. Kearran went on the ground and took Wayne's hands, and obviously Wayne didn't know what to do, but pulled him up so Kearran just hit his face right in Wayne's junk! Then Kearran was like "no no" and "swam away". Wow, I practically choked on my toothpaste and had trouble even rinsing because I kept replaying that moment in my head and laughing! That moment was funny for how unexpected it was. And I still wonder what Kearran was going for... But it was an honest to goodness laugh out loud moment for me so I'm overall happy with last night's episode.
  16. So JD just said something about being 34 years old to Mary Jo and I had to see how old the actor really was. I'm in my 30s and I feel like he looks 10 years older than me (and keep in mind they were already "old" to me when this show was originally on). Not to mention he and Mary Jo are divorced and have "adult problems" (in my 30s and I still don't feel like an adult most days). So he actually was about 37 when the episode I saw aired (the one where Charlene has a cancer scare). It's like the Golden Girls--they look "old" today. I know many women in their 50s and 60s who are still very youthful looking. The '80s styling wasn't helpful for anyone! So while searching IMDB I also saw that the actor who played JD is actually married to Jean Smart! Others might have known this already, but I didn't! I'm glad this show is back on. I used to watch it a lot in the original runs and up until about 10-15 years ago and then it kind of disappeared. But it's a bit sad to know that Dixie Carter didn't always agree with the rants she gave on the show in real life. It's like when I found out Bea Arthur and Betty White weren't really good pals. But whhhyyyy!!?
  17. I don't see how it's hypocrisy. Most people do stupid shit as kids/teens that, even though they came through it OK, they don't want their kids to repeat. DJ stole a car--at an age he couldn't even legally drive let alone actually drive--and left it in a ditch or whatever. I know that was the hitting episode and I won't get into all that, but he SHOULD have been punished in some way. He could have died. He could have killed someone/himself. He was old enough to know better. Then he just left the car and let everyone think the worst. It was a big. fucking. deal. If parents couldn't punish children for mistakes they also made as children then, yiiiikes. What a world that would be.
  18. Wow! I had no idea. And obviously that's Debbie Reynolds in the episode as Dan's mom. I don't care for that episode, but now it's kind of nice to know Debbie and Carrie worked on that together. The episode was probably written first, but I wonder if Carrie asked them to use her mom in the episode or how it all came about.
  19. I agree with the majority of the comments. I've been feeling that way for a while, and my enjoyment of the show diminishes with each episode it seems. I don't even dislike the majority of the guests but they are unnecessary and take too much time away from the group. Use people from the audience as needed. Do they have guests with the hope they are big enough to bring viewers in, or are they giving CW shows a chance to gain more viewers? And it gets sexual too often. I realize how prudish I sound--there is always a time and place for sex/genitalia jokes, but these people should be able to be more clever than that and not always need to dip into that well. Maybe they should switch up the chairs more often. I love Colin and Ryan but they are always there. The other chairs rotate more frequently. Maybe they need a break. It's just all very...stale...I guess is the word I'm looking for. I used to dislike when Drew would be part of the skits but I found my mind wandering to other people I'd like to see on and he was one of them.
  20. I really liked Rogelio's comment on continuity and everything going on while he said it! I'm glad Jane finally had sex with Fabian. I hope they don't have this come back on her in some way. Sometimes (most times) people have sex without marriage and it's OK! It's OK to wait if you want to (and while I agree Alba was forceful in her message to Jane, Jane also had her mom there *not* following Alba's advice. Her life may not have been perfect, but she was a good person overall and Jane could hopefully see both sides and make her own choice). But now Jane's done it and she's fine. I was actually expecting more about it being her first time since Michael and was a bit surprised she didn't get cold feet from that. But now it's over and done with (for which I'm glad. That felt like forever to get to that point and I don't think Fabian has been around all that long yet!).
  21. Emily wrote that email Addison was accused of, right? Or someone else did. A? Paige? I don't feel that was settled in any way. I have no clue what is going on most of the time. I don't rewatch episodes and had no idea what Jenna was talking about or, well, most of them any of the time. I'm just going with it. I'm not exactly hate watching, but I'll be glad when this is over. I have no faith the writers have any clue what they're doing. I'm sure they've been working toward something the last few seasons, but not the first few and the whole thing is going to end with a giant "huhhhhh??" as they try to somehow piece it together and pretend it's cohesive.
  22. Can anyone tell me who Fabian reminds me of? I realize that's incredibly vague. It keeps reaching the tip of my brain and then I lose it. It's someone similar on a TV show-dumb, but heart of gold (I think?!). Not Darren from The Middle. Maybe someone from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend? That doesn't seem quite right either. Every now and then Fabian even sounded like him but I can't quite brain-grab it. I almost had it just then and lost it. Gah! ETA: I think I figured it out! Jianyu from The Good Place. I did like Rogelio admitting to missing Michael but I feel like Jane would actually really appreciate that if he told her. Yeah, I'm waiting for this to go....anywhere. And yet I fear I'll regret it when they finally do.
  23. It is, you're right. The campus is in State College, but the campus itself is called University Park, and sometimes "Happy Valley".
  24. A few thoughts ran through my head...one, that he's a mimic. Not in a mean way, but just sort of identifies with/understands the person by mirroring them. And I wondered if he may also be hard of hearing. He made a few faces/head movements that my mom does when trying to listen to what I'm saying sometimes. And maybe having another language (that he can understand a bit of) and also English may have been a lot to take in. And going back to Jessica Biel's, the historian on the show I know was in that episode. The one she met before she went to Alton. I mentioned how I found it surprising the Alton guy said they didn't know the names of those that were killed in the escape but happened to know her relative. He said they actually did know but it was left out for maybe time or whatever reasons. Not really sure why they had to say anything about knowing/not knowing the other names if that's true. That's "reality" TV for ya!
  25. But Rose does get in a good dig at his expense when Blanche says she gave him back his manhood and Rose responds, "If he can find it, he can have it!" For Rose that's pretty mean! I don't think he used her though. I don't think he was like "she'll get me to have sex again!" I take it that he realized that part of him was still working after all and that having this back on the table meant he could get back together with his ex. It wasn't a particularly kind thing, but I don't think he was trying to be a dick (errrr.....).
