  1. I read that the woman who plays Mrs. Hughes on Downton Abbey will be in the episode as a suspect very unlike her DA character. Just that alone has probably made me more interested in this episode tonight than I normally would be.
  2. Buffed! "...isn't the only thing you've buffed to a high gloss...." "Check 1, Check 2, sibilance, sibilance" I forgot that had come from this episode.
  3. Actually, no, and I know this only because I thought that once too. A serving size is 1 cup prepared (aka: with water). The 2 tablespoons serving size is of the dry stuff. It says on the label "makes 1 cup prepared". Though who eats a cup of soup of a light soup? Maybe people do, but not me...
  4. No... It takes a lot for me to do this, but I actually took this off my DVR program list. I wanted to like it and kept hoping it would bring the funny season after season, and while I thought I was no prude, I find I tire of the raunchy jokes very quickly. It seems that's all it really brings, and not particularly clever jokes either--and that might be great for some people, but I just realized I never enjoy this show so why was I still watching? I realize it's probably weird I'm even commenting on it--but I will probably check in here and there to see if there is ever any improvement (but at this point, I'm guessing it's gonna be how it's gonna be.) I like the actresses, just not in this.
  5. The pickpocket/watch stealer was the guy from Brain Games, Apollo Robbins! They always use him for the illusion stuff and in real life he calls himself a gentleman thief, so he's actually truly a pro at that type of thing. I just checked out his Wikipedia page and it says he successfully pickpocketed Secret Service agents who were protecting Jimmy Carter and later they contacted him to find out about his techniques! A hell of a thing, really. I was glad to see him in the episode.
  6. And what was worse is, though I know they had her write down the password to get the prescription drug stealer scene, she couldn't just SAY the password as it was unscrambling. She had time to say "two more letters!" She could have easily said "E02XWWP" or whatever and the guy on the other end could have written it down his damn self! Stupid.
  7. Q is for the quiz Jackie gives Dan and Roseanne on body language in an early episode that reveals Dan true feelings toward her.
  8. Wait, what? I've watched this show from the beginning, and I swear I do like it (not as much as the early days), but I was relieved this was the final season! I figured it would give them a chance to go out the way they wanted to and tighten up the story and give us some great final episodes... so this news that there could be an 11th season just makes me groan...arrrgh!
  9. V is for the virgin Blanche soooooo was not on her wedding day--even she couldn't have worn white with a straight face. (Rose, however, was a virgin and gets a patented Dorothy "well aren't you holier-than-thou" look when she says so).
  10. N is for Nancy, whose character I never really got into. O is for Oxygen, which Mark "misspelled" after getting too cocky at Scrabble.
  11. Here's a bit more about the controversial segment last night over at TV Guide.
  12. I missed when the football game ended--could any kind soul out there let me know how late CBS is now running?
  13. W is for Water Lily. Blanche calls herself that sometimes. I'm guessing it goes back to her childhood or young adult years--she might have thought it was an upgrade from her mother calling her peacock.
  14. G is for the Ganja that Jackie determined, while sitting in the bathtub, was the only thing in her life. Roseanne and Dan found this hilarious... H is for Hans the Hare that David was being brainwashed into becoming in a weird, anti-Disney episode.
  15. If anyone is interested, I thought I'd try out the Roseanne alphabet game. I've enjoyed the Golden Girls one and that and Roseanne are my favorite syndicated shows. I've never started a topic before so hopefully I don't mess it up... How about to start, just go with anything relating to the show? A is for the Affair Dan had but didn't have because he was actually dead. B is for Buy 'n' Bag where Roseanne shopped and Becky worked for a while (and I think Darlene too, for maybe 1 episode). C is for Conner. C as in 'cat,' O as in 'oaf,' N as in 'numbskull,' N as in 'nitwit'...E as in...'empty-headed,' R as in 'target!' (I'll stop now)
  16. N is for Nils Felander who attempted to harass Rose repeatedly with obscene ice cream scoops. By the time Rose got to her father the evidence had always melted... O is for Oogle and Floogle, which is an adult version of hide and seek. It's different than the children's game because adults play it.
  17. I was doing some straightening up and had on Hallmark (which had been airing Golden Girls episodes, naturally) when this cheesy Hallmark movie "The Lost Valentine" with Betty White and Jennifer Love Hewitt started (about Betty's character looking into what happened to her husband in the war--he was MIA). I kept that TV on as I was coming and going and am still slightly horrified that at some point near the end I just sat and watched and started sobbing along with all the other characters. Damn you, Betty White, for making that movie better than it should have been!
  18. C is for Charlie, Rose's husband, whom she lived with in St. Olaf. Shortly after he died she spoke to him over her birthday cake and informed him that she'd be moving to Miami (and remember, she gets the rose). D is for the Druid priests who weren't Druid priests at all! Just Shriners out looking for a good time. No one knows why Rose raised her hand...
  19. X is for the Xanthous from top-to-bottom outfit Blanche wears in one episode.
  20. U is for the Underwear that Blanche wore (more frequently as a teenager) under her cheerleading uniform during tryouts that said "Bonjour!" ...or was it bon appetit? Eh, it was something in French. (I remember finding that line sooo risque as a teenager!)
  21. H is for hideous, which also describes Dorothy's ugly wedding dress. (Really, this needed to be said twice). I is for the Improper-for-her-age outfits the other girls sometimes called Blanche out on wearing (though really, I'd be lucky to look half as good in outfits, ugly '80s fashion component aside).
  22. F is for Father Leahy, whom Dorothy, through a series of misunderstandings, fretted was going to leave the church for her (much to Sophia's dismay). These misunderstandings also made her dress like the mother of a Solid Gold dancer.
  23. What about problems the ladies had? With parents, ailments, men, cooking, whatever. A is for the AIDS scare Rose had. B is for the Bacon, Lettuce & Potato sandwiches Rose and Sophia sold until they made an enemy of Johnny No Thumbs.
  24. Hmmm. And what if that amnesia (or some such thing) reduces/stops his hallucinations and has him functioning (whatever is considered) normally? But of course he won't be "him" if that happens and we'll oddly be rooting for his illness to return.
  25. I will totally watch. I'm not proud. When I watch most episodes now I'm like "what crap!" But knowing that they all stayed pretty close in real life and that they probably would not be dragged kicking and screaming back into this makes me know I'll watch. I watched all the Growing Pains movies too. I'm a sucker for nostalgia. Would be interesting to see what they do with Michelle... Wonder if it'll be anything like the future the guys envisioned where the girls were in their 20s but selfish jerks and Kimmy Gibler was a hottie...(I actually hope not, but...starting off point!)
