  1. And to me, very rhymes with Gary. You East Coasters are so hoity toity. I thought the TSA dinosaur story was one of the best. This season, anyway.
  2. Same here. I read posts about how all those Marys are pronounced differently, and the Barry/Berry discussions, and I'm all "What? They are all said the same way." My friend Merry, I didn't know her name was spelled differently until she showed me. I still pronounced it mary marry merry, and so did everyone in her (Midwestern) family. It's all the same, just different spellings. Said this Midwesterner. I did have to look up Barry, Illinois though. Close to Hannibal, so you should have gotten that quote from Mark Twain about Hannibal/the Mississippi that was a TS a while back. Walking home from Junior high, if we were lucky and had 15 cents, we could get a long john from the Woolworth's to eat on the trip. If we were really bold, we would cross the street to the little malt shop and get a green river. We seldom did that though, since it was the hangout for the high-school hoods. (Picture Fonzi and those sorts of leather-jacketed miscreants.)
  3. I had to laugh at this line from the WaPo article: "Nobody has a bad thing to say about ‘Jeopardy!’ ” Someone doesn't read the posts on Primetimer!
  4. It's good to see you back, @opus. (And your front, too.)
  5. That could have been The Best Answer EVAH. I've visited Mr. Boone's grave site in Frankfort, Kentucky. The New York Times says, however, that it might not be him in there! Still, a nice marker and good view of the city from the hill. So important to the deceased.
  6. There's one of those near me. It's also a delicious soda-fountain drink. I easily got Red River since it puts Fargo, N.D. under water more often than not. And since I live in a flood plain, I pay attention to such things. A Navajo category ... first time for that on this show, and it's about time. I could smoke an entire board on Navajo clues, being an honorary member of the diné. So many TSs, I didn't keep track. Just said them to my tv, which said back it did not care. I was all about Kelly. I could use about 10 more Kellys in my life. Everyone is so hateful and spiteful and nasty and cranky and grouchy IRL and online, she was a blowing gale of fresh air. Sorry to see her go.
  7. That was so whack, all I could think of was this:
  8. I blank out when the judges start babbling so didn't hear anyone say anything about first responders. And who gives a care if Heidi or any of these judges name specific departments or not. It's not them speaking, it's AGT's writers telling them what to say and how to act, like "Be sure you three get all OTT OMG! during the fake danger act." I was so zoned out by the last act that I barely remember last act was the choir. I for sure couldn’t tell you what song they sang. For that matter, I don’t know what song anyone sang, they all fail to register with me. I’m really getting cranky! I hope tonight’s show is better. BAD Salsa for the win.
  9. Hey, don't go throwing cold water on the Pixie Dust that Mr. Major has been sprinkling on us! This might be why I didn't even watch his flaming zipline performance last night.
  10. Bummer! And just when I was ready to Flame On going down the zipline in my back yard!
  11. I am so very sorry to hear this, it breaks my heart. I enjoyed your posts here about Mother Grundoon's thoughts on the show. I am glad you are back watching, and I hope it can bring you some happy memories. Sending you a virtual hug. <hugs>
  12. WAFFLE Crew: Because of @ams1001 I bought strawberry waffles (not blueberry!) last week. So I thank you for that. But back to the act. They really are getting the best of the pandemic with the sets and choreo around all the Universal backlot things. I liked them. A lot. Great start to a show that, unfortunately, didn't hold up all that well. Kenedi or Kennedy or whatever Girl Singer: I used that time to take the garbage to the curb and let some dogs out. Max Major: WTH dude. You are being ripped all over the Internet today for your fakety fake act being exposed by a little girl on Zoom who forgot what number she was suppose to say. I still don't like this guy. Even if you had a good act that wasn't so transparent, I still wouldn't like you Max. And no, so far you have never once influenced me to draw something, real or imagined, the way you say I should have. Tool. Bello sisters: They still are good, but maybe they need to do some back flips or something to "step it up and speed it up" which so many seem to want. Or how about speeding up their video, show? That would work too. Like BAD Salsa sped up. Celina: Now she is a star soccer player? When did that happen? Losing her sob story about being bullied because she wears dude's clothes is going to hurt her. No one cares that soccer gives her inspiration to be better. Show just got her kicked off tonight, count on it. Zipline guy: I didn't care so didn't really watch his act. So dude ziplined. Big deal. Christina Rae: She said if she won she would buy her dream house. Well Christina, that house you were in and outside of during your intro looks like MY dream house. So you can STFU about dream houses. I hope you go home tonight to your crappy house that's better than mine. BAD Salsa: Wow, was their video set on top speed? It looked like an old Charlie Chaplin film, all jerky and too fast. I thought their intro video was a gender reveal, all those colors exploding into space. Although I do not know what sex green indicates. Maybe I don't want to know. Still, they were the best of the night, even though their dance looked like all their other ones, just set on "fast" to squeeze it into the time slot. Brad Loudermilk: I had to quit watching him although his intro video was great and he is charming and funnier than any of the comedians this show has had on. The endoscope ... no thanks. And hacking up the little duck brought back suppressed memories of The Regurgitator. Still, I'll take him over any of the singers. I don't watch American Idol for the singers, I'm not watching AGT for them either. Which means I don't even know who that last act was. Just another singer.
  13. I understand boring drugs are okay too.
  14. So did I. Which made me as confused as Howie.
  15. Agree about Sofia, and I hope Simon does not show up, ever again. AGT is so much better without him. JMHO of course!
  16. So happy to see everyone checking in. Also glad to see @opus is observing the new Jeopardy! social distancing rules. I'd go ALL IN with that 3000 if I were you, buddy. Meanwhile, I challenge all of you to just try to take away my DAL trophy from the last two years. Go ahead. Just try.
  17. I shouted WTF when all of a sudden now spelling counts in FJ. When TH did that happen after 36 seasons of pronunciation counting, spelling not. I'm very familiar with Motown and got FJ easily, but I would have spelled it Barry too. Berry ... who knew. I didn't. And I have a ton load of Motown vinyl, and going to a Temps concert was a yearly event back then. If Berry Gordy married Mary Berry and took her name ... If we're going to discuss Alex saying words differently than anyone else, let's start with "genre." As for yesterday, no one said Acropolis? Just me? Alrighty then.
  18. Nick Hanson is my favorite Ninja. I jumped out of my chair and yelled YES! and pumped my fist when he got up the Mega Wall. I hope he can come back as a wild card or something. I'm not a fan of Grant McCartney, but seeing him cheer on Nick, and knowing they are good friends, makes me tolerate him. At least Nick got $10,000 so there's that. I'm not sure what I think of Jake Murray. Not that he cares!
  19. Looking forward to seeing your totally awesome avatar posting here on a regular basis. Welcome to The Contest!
  20. @Toothbrush, where have you been?!?! Our prodigal Toothbrush returns! Yeay! Starting a new contest will be a daily bright spot. I'm looking forward to a reunion of The Old Gang, and meeting some new players here. It's almost Monday, guys! Driad is talking to you, "No Excuses Prevailing Wind!"
  21. I had forgotten how much I liked Zach. I'm glad he won the last game of the rerun season.
  22. Same thing happened to Bello Nock when Ringling folded, out of a job. At least the singers can apply for a job at Howie's Coffee House.
  23. OTOH, the masks protected each dancer from contaminated snot and spittle flying from their partners' mouths and nose, and kept all loogies contained instead of being hocked up to be stuck everywhere on everything. There are so many self-centered maskholes everywhere in this country, it was nice to see Dance Town dancers being responsible and setting a good example. I would have moved them through to the final just for that. It's my opinion that this show has been greatly improved by no mugging and OTT audience and no mugging and OTT Simon. Best.Season.EVAH for this viewer. I can't imagine what ITG is doing with his time if he's not watching and posting about this show. Maybe change that to "I don't want to imagine ..."
