  1. I like Molly, but I also thought her heading right for the washer was highly improbable and not very smart given the lack of warrant. However, the show is fun, so I'm willing to let stuff like that go.
  2. To some extent, Kass' plan appeared to work, in that Tony appeared to lose his cool & Woo tried to have thoughts, but I couldn't figure out what she thought she was accomplishing by it. I guess she thinks she is stirring up more anti-Tony resentment on the jury and his flipping on Trish actually did seem to result in that based on the Ponderosa footage, but in the process she's burning bridges with Trish and fueling the jury hatred of herself. I guess she is still underestimating just how much people don't like her or she really is playing for an invite back, rather than to win. If there is a second place prize, tempting people to vote you out because you are so unpleasant, when you're nearly a lock to get there if you just hang tight doesn't make much sense either.
  3. Trish's talk about being happy just seems like typical rationalization after a disappointment to me and the boys' bitterness gets them no closer to the million than Trish's approach so more power to her. It appears there is more anti-Tony sentiment than I thought on the jury, though it remains to be seen if they'll vote against him because they don't like him and he flipped on several of them or for him because he outplayed them. This jury seems quite bitter. If Tony & Kass are the final 2, this is gonna be one nasty FTC. Trish would definitely drive me nuts and she's definitely proof of how big a difference 10 pounds makes if you're already thin. The fact that she kept trusting Tony, even after he flipped on his alliance twice is the thing that most negatively impacted my perception of her gameplay. She's like those people who hook up with someone while they're married to somebody else and then are shocked when they find out they also cheated on them.
  4. Shaking my head was entirely made for me by the shots of Kurt looking like he had swimmer's ear. I also enjoyed the backup dancers. The song is definitely terrible, but so was everything we've heard off Mercedes fictional album. Not sure if the writers are expressing contempt for Mercedes or R&B music or just think they are being funny.
  5. Most of the adult actors are pretty stolid character actors who will get plenty of work. Jane got elevated more to a household name by being on the show, but she definitely already had a very solid body of work and she's quite good on HGN. I imagine Matt & Lea could return to B-Way and will probably get some film roles. I doubt Lea is destined to be a movie star, but I think she will work. Matt has a pretty enough face and he's not a bad actor. Don't think he'll blow up, but I could see him in some rom-coms. The rest of the cast is a crap shoot. If Chris gets good reviews for his upcoming project, I could see him working steadily in a certain type of film and he has lots of irons in the fire. Darrin seems to be trying the broadway thing. Of the rest....Kevin & Naya are the only ones who's acting doesn't seem kind of stilted to me, but maybe the others could do more with better material. Chord might be pretty enough for the CW.
  6. What they cut will be partially dependant on what else they are adding to the schedule and what new shows survive the first half. In order to cut things into half hour chunks they have to have a half hour show that doesn't need a strong lead in to put in that slot. I'd like to see the performance shows cut down to an hour later in the season. There was far too much filler this year in the later rounds. If Fox was doing better with other shows, I'd say losing the results show would be a foregone conclusion, but if they continue to struggled to launch new shows it might be a matter of nothing better to show. If they keep the results show, I hope it's a half hour the whole season.
  7. Maybe now that they're beating Idol on a regular basis they think they stand a better chance of beating Idol on Wednesday than Game of Thrones & the rest of the Sunday lineup.
  8. I never understand the level of viritrol aimed at reality show contestants, unless they've actually done something truly awful, but the Amy backlash is truly puzzling to me. Not that she's getting backlash, because to some extent they all do, but the nature of it. I figure if she feels like she's being condescended to or Derek is not challenging her enough, then she can express that to Derek. If not, then I'm not going to get all outraged on her behalf or try and dictate how she should feel about it. She's the one living it, not me. I like both Amy and Meryl. I like Meryl partly for her dancing and partly because I'm a figure skating fan. I like Amy partly for her dancing and partly because I admire her putting herself out there and demonstrating some of what is possible for a double amputee with modern prosthetics. I don't see voting for Amy because of her story as any less valid than voting for Meryl because of her skating or Candace because you loved Full House. It's part of the show. If it was supposed to be about the "best dancer" or "most improved" dancer then they'd just have judges and the fans wouldn't get to vote. Once you let the fans vote, it's about whatever the fans voting want it to be about.
  9. That seance was cray. The ending really bummed me out. I liked Protheus.
  10. I thought Melissa & Robert's characters were pretty close in quality & Ben's was a distant 3rd. The paint on Ben's was bad and the head looked too much like one of the alien press conference creatures. The story and prop were more inventive, but again seemed like it belonged in the alien challenge. I liked Melissa's creature more than Robert's, but it did need teeth and her prop was kind of boring. Robert's creature having an actual body was nice and the details on the face were great. I didn't like the flat face stuck on a mound of hair. It needed more of a head and neck to look like it could actually be a real face. His prop was also boring & sfx was weak. I do think his overall body of work was the strongest.
  11. I was thinking Tony's crying and Kass' "do you want me to be your mama" comments were probably from the loved ones visit bit, so I think we will get that. Maybe the Spencer fall bit is from the reward challenge that determine's who's loved ones gets to stay.
  12. At first I was all proud of Woo for doing a good job at convincing Tony at tribal that he was voting Kass, so Tony wouldn't play his HII for Trish and annoyed at Tony for making the stupid move of voting out the super goat just because she pissed him off, but after seeing Tony also voted Trish, I think the vote got changed or was always Trish and the editing monkeys just made it look like tony was going after Kass. Trish lost some points both with her anti-Kass tirade and her vote. I guess she thought having unreliable Tony who has voted a different person than he told her twice as her only ally was more valuable than taking people she could actually maybe beat to the final. Trish made a couple of good moves that kept her alliance together, but overall her gameplay wasn't great. At this point, I think it's a crazy move for anyone left to vote out Kass. This jury is as bitter as they come. I don't care if Kass is freakin Daniel Webster talking to the jury....she is not getting any votes. Flipping off Trish on the way out makes me feel like the viritrol directed at Kass in social media and interviews may be more justified than I initially thought. That was a very low class, petty and immature thing to do. She is starting to remind me of that woman from season 1 that was so incredibly bitter.
  13. Jena's re-tread of Creep ended up being my favorite of the night, not because I was so enthused about it, but because it was just a very meh night overall. I don't like that Led Zeppelin song, so I skipped most of it. Caleb's voice definitely sounded strained on the other two songs and while I liked INXS as much as any other middle schooler back in the day, Randy's 20+ year old "current" song for Caleb is one of my least favorite INXS songs. Also didn't really like that Imagine Dragons song and didn't think it suited Caleb at all. Alex's voice also sounded a bit worn out. Don't like that Pompeii song. Stay was pretty good, but kindda sleepy. SOML was better the first time he did it. Jena's first two songs were pretty bad. Not a Demi Lovato fan and didn't like that song. Titanium is OK, but she didn't do much with it. Very played out on these shows. I thought Creep part deux was nice. Hoping for a Jena/Caleb finale because they occasionally do songs that are interesting to me and Alex does not. Though, the finale is usually a boring mix of re-treads and horrible coronation songs, so it probably doesn't matter. I doubt tonight changed any minds as everybody pretty much did what they always do. Glad slapout got her parade.
  14. Interesting interview. She seems to know what she's about. It's a shame TPTB nixed the original songs. It would have been nice to hear them all. However, it makes a lot more sense now that all the 3rd songs seemed kinda throw aways, since they were apparently last minute choices. I think I would probably like Jessica IRL and it would be fun to play music with her. If she released an album of songs in the vein of Blue Eyed Lie, I'd probably buy it. Since I skip over the judges, I didn't even realize there was a Pumped up Kicks controversy. Leave it to a Idol to make a big deal out of a years old song that has already been done on a The Voice to no particular uproar. The discussion about the juxtaposition between the dark lyrics & happy melody was interesting to me. Bluegrass is the main genre of music I have sung/played and that sort of thing is very common. Lots of happy sounding songs about killing your girlfriend lol. My favorite line was, "I have lots of feels down in there......somewhere."
  15. The only thing I took away from this episode was that I was happy to get to see Brittnay dance and I think I spotted Brian Friedman as a background dancer. Kinda bummed that following that .6 rating, American Boy might be Kurt's swan song, but for the rest of it I just really don't care. Though I did find it deliciously ironic that the message of the ep was "don't listen to others if you're sure you're right " and it ended with a song with the lyric "how am I'm going to be optimistic about this?"
  16. Being on a critically acclaimed show hardly anybody watches might have some appeal, but I can't see how staying on a show that is almost universally panned and is pulling bad for CW numbers would appeal to any actor with other options and both Lea & Darren have other options.
  17. Exciting news :). Chris is one of the few actors I'd follow to movies I wouldn't normally watch.
  18. I've been thinking I wish they'd just do a movie or a mini to wrap things up and be done. I can't see how even a half season happens after that .6 finale. Guess that Brittney/Blaine teaser really paid off lol Being on this show has got to feel like playing for tips at an empty bar by now. Wonder how they will spin it. Maybe they will act like nothing happened and just forget to put Glee on at mid-season.
  19. I only started watching the show in the last few years, so other than this season, which had a largely unlikable cast, I haven't really noticed much. I always DVR the show, so not having to add time to account for football overrun is a positive, plus there's not much on on Friday, whereas Sunday is packed for me.
  20. I don't have much original to add, but here's mine anyway: I'll qualify this by saying shows I enjoyed, rather than "great" shows: 1). Dexter - I didn't have Showtime until the final season, so I binge watched the whole series from On Demand. Loved the first three seasons and it was all downhill from there. Kept waiting for it to get better. It never did. Hate what they did with Debra. 2) Heroes- probably my biggest tv disappointment. I loved the first season so much, but I gave up about midway through season 2. Too much everybody has powers syndrome and too much Sylar. 3) Roseanne - I grew up in a middle class, Midwestern family and I really loved this show, but I think they just ran out of ideas about the time original flavor Becky left the show. Last season was horrid, but the decline started before that. 4) The Cosby Show - My all time favorite sitcom up until about when Lisa Bonet was fired. The plots just kept getting sillier & the characters they tried to bring in to replace the aging kids were all terrible. 5) That 70's Show- I love this show to an unreasonable degree up until the emergence of blonde Donna. Another show that tried too hard to keep it's aging cast in the same place and then brought in annoying new characters to replace departing stars. 6) Glee - this show has been bad so long, I'm no longer sure it was ever actually good, but I did like the first couple seasons. They pretty much ruined all the characters in one way or another and seem to actually hate their audience. 7) the Facts of Life - loved it until they tried to follow the girls to college. Cloris Leachman has been funny in a lot of things, but she was no Mrs. garret and the show had just run it's course. 8) Grey's Anatomy - I stopped watching when McDreamy & Meredith had sex at the "prom." I'm not sure why this was the breaking point, but I think I was just tired of those two breaking up & getting back together. I never liked that couple much to begin with.
  21. Totally agree. If I were stuck in a Zombie apocalypse, I'd totally want him on my team, but he is not hot in any way, not even a scruffy redneck way. I'm with you, though I do expect the rules to make sense within the universe and be consistent rather than changing to suit the plot. It annoys the crap out of me when 3/4s of the talk on every show ever is self appointed experts bitching about how everything on the show is wrong and unrealistic. Same here. Maybe it's because I'm a mediocre musician with a lot of friends who are good musicians and am familiar with how arranging music is totally different skill from singing, but I find the expectation that these kids should take a song, learn it and then come up with a totally original arrangement in under a week and then teach it to the band and perform it unrealistic. Most who do something different are covering a cover or doing a song they were already performing before the show. The word cougar never bothered me, but I thought it was a stupid title for the show. It made it sound like a desperate housewives knockoff, when it's really like Friends, but older. I thought it was kinda funny the couple times I watched, but I only watch sitcoms when there's nothing else on. Here's my UO: 1) The Big Bang theory is neither funny nor smart 2) The entire CBS comedy lineup is the biggest bunch of lowest common denominator unfunny crapfests on television 3) the judges scores on DWTS don't need to be fair because it is a reality show, not a real dance competition 4) Marley and Unique on Glee were more enjoyable characters than Mercedes, Sam, Artie, Tina or Blaine 5) Every flavor of NCIS & CSI and the various shows which are just like them are terrible, with NCIS SVU being the worst one of all 6) Shows about rednecks doing redneck things are not entertaining. 7) jimmy Fallon is not funny. Neither is Conan.
  22. Lol....what was that song about making toast that was popular back in the 90s? Anyway....I couldn't be less interested in the final 3 and this may be the first voice finale that I won't watch. I thought Kat actually had the best sing for your life song. Kristen sacrificed the low notes so she could reach the high notes, but was still better than Grimmie. At this point I think I'd rather see lovable but vocally challenged Jake win than boring Josh or annoying Grimmie. Hope they cast the next season better and Adam & Blake really need to take a season off.
  23. Hmmm I don't see a little box next to my " feature. I'm using chrome for iPad, but not the mobile version of the site.....not sure if that makes a difference. In the future I shall address all my deleting requests to Raddishcake. I like the idea of having my own personal deleter. J/k when I get a chance I'll check on my laptop and see if I can figure it out.
  24. I can't figure out how to delete a post on this thing. How bout them Yankees?
