These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers
ILoveReading replied to catrox14's topic in Supernatural
From @Myrelle in the spoiler thread I think we'll have a better picture after next week when whatever happens to Sam takes place. In the promo you can clearly see him covered in blood. My biggest worry is that this is all just another lesson for Dean or its setting him up to fail. If Dean says yes to AW Michael in the attempt to try and control him like Sam did with Lucifer, I can see Dabb take a certain amount of satisfaction in letting Dean not be able to succeed and Dean being the reason Michael ends up in our world. If AW Michael ending up in our world is the cliffhanger no way is resolved in the first couple of episodes, so we get more Dean guilt/Dean learns a lesson. It gives them the excuse to hand the storyline to Sam later in the season. Its why I really hope its Cage Michael and AW Michael is taken care of in the finale. -
I will respond in bitter spoilers just to be on the safe side.

IMO, Sam's speech in this episode shows how little he understands Dean. "We die together." Really Sam have you met your brother? Since Dean was 4 years old he's had it drilled into his head that Sam is the important one and that he's responsible for Sam's well being. In Dean's world something happening to Sam on his watch was a punishable offense. Does Sam really think that Dean is going to let that happen? That Dean will just let Sam die alongside him? Now, I'm not saying its a good thing, because im not a fan of the toxic codependency but IMO, if Dean thinks Sam is okay with dying he'll fight harder to make sure he doesn't.

My guess is that Sam is going to get killed or seriously injured in the next ep. We see him covered in blood in the promo. Gabriel and Cas will drain their grace fixing him leaving no option but to say yes to Michael.

When Dean said that the last time he had a front row seat for the Lucifer/Michael show Sam went to hell, I wish Sam responded with "the last time you sacrificed yourself for me you went to hell. I care about what happens to you and you should too" rather than just furthering the co-dependency. I really don't need to watch Sam and Dean start a third apocalypse over it. This is the problem when the writers write for "feelz" rather than plot or characterization and why the writing is all over the place. I honestly don't get the point of cheering Dean's character growth that revenge is a bad thing in an episode where Sam is clearly gearing up for a revenge quest against Lucifer. It's a serious WTF moment for me. This is why people need to listen to Dean more. I fastforwarded to all the Dean scenes because because Dean's micro expressions tell a story far better than any of the writers can and the scene with Loki kind of caught my eye Loki tells Dean he's doing it for his dad despite that fact that his dad disposed him and then tells Dean, "but you know about that." The look on Dean's face just broke my heart because Jensen played it like, yes he does know about that. Can someone just wrap Dean in a blanket of warm hugs please.

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
ILoveReading replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
I think its mostly to do with Cons. Rich is very popular. -
your right, that was how it went, I just remember being surprised to hear it because I thought it kind of insulting towards Mark S.
-
Sam seemed more annoyed here than scared at the annual, "lets protect Sammy plot." Why is it Sam can only find his voice when its time to lecture Dean about something? No one is stopping Sam from sitting at the big boy table except Sam. He could have spoken up and told Dean, he wasn't letting him go alone or refused to go along with the plan.
-
Did anyone else catch Kevin's quote, "Even when I lose, I win." Low blow show given how Mark S. was so upset this line was cut.
-
Gabriel complaining about being tortured was lost on me when he tortured Dean physically and Sam mentally for months.

This is why I don't get excited at Dean news with Dabb in charge.* It seems like they're setting Dean up for another fall by setting him up as suddenly being not a team player and I would put money on whatever happens its just going to be about protecting Sam and making sure Sam lives rather than a hero moment and saving the world. *I think Jensen will do a phenomenal job but the storyline will probably just be a repeat of Demon Dean. I hate Dabb so much. -
This felt like I was watching Sacrifice all over again. Seriously, Sam the rift was open. If you wanted to go bad enough you could have. Stop blaming Dean for treating you like a child when you make your own decisions. I guess its Dean's turn to be sad again since he's back on the hard stuff. I did like that Dean was right about getting revenge not changing anything as Gabe didn't seem all that jazzed.

I think your misunderstanding what Im saying. I'm simply disagreeing with Castiel's Cat that its a confirmed fact that Dean has the mytharc this season. I'm saying that what we know will happen is more closely connected to Sam than it is to Dean. -
I don't disagree with what your saying. I think this solution would work better if the show actually spent time developing a relationship between her and her sons last season. But where they left things it felt like they were all gearing up to start over. Since Mary spent much of her time pushing her sons away how do the writers avoid it looking like this.

Season finale description. I fixed the typo though. SUPERNATURAL “Let the Good Times Roll” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV) IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS – Our heroes, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester, continue to be tested in the battle between good and evil, but one impulsive decision could alter the lives of one the brothers forever. (for three episodes) Robert Singer directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb (#1323). Original airdate 5/17/2018. https://www.spoilertv.com/2018/04/supernatural-episode-1323-let-good.html They really need to stop saying forever.

While WS did impede the season, I dont' think its soley to blame. Because the episode going in, Dean held a gun to Kaia's head. He felt guilty and was desperate to save Mary. But then in Jurassic Park, Dean's like "meh." Dabb simply had to adjust the writing in those scenes. I get Sam and Dean had to be the damsels in distress that ep, but they still could have Sam and Dean's characterization consistent. When Dean is on a mission he can get reckless so him not noticing they were being followed by mysterious robed girl still could have happened. Then suddenly Dean's okay with slowing down and Sam has lost faith completely. Why? They didnt' have a way to save Mary in the first half but Sam had faith she was alive. Nothing really changed other then it was confirmed he was right. I know its said Dean buried his emotions to help Sam, but I didn't see that. Jensen is usually so good with the subtle stuff to let us know that Dean isn't okay. Drinking the hard stuff is usally a sign but I think we've seen Dean only drink once from the flask in the premier, otherwise its just beer. The only time we saw it was excessive was in ep 3 and that was a blink and you'll miss it moment. Then suddenly, Dean went from "it will take time" to now now now. And Sam...I have no clue if I'm still supposed to be seeing him as struggling or accepting. It's like Dabb suddenly decided it was just Sam's turn. That is bad writing. Sam as this forced bond with Gabriel. Dabb sucks. -

I don't think we actually know this. All we know is that Jensen is going to end up playing a character that isn't Dean. There is no guarantee that this comes as a result of a BDH moment or in a moment of reckless despair like when Dean took on the Mark of Cain. Given that its Sam who appeals to Gabe, Sam who has the stronger relationship with Jack, Sam who has the destiny with Rowena and Sam whose supposed to go through some harrowing moment, Id say Sam has a bigger story than Dean at this point. (This isn't meant as B vs J just based on current released spoilers) -

LOL They need to spend less time on AO3 and more time on Superwiki. True, but it feels the writers are trying to force a relationship rather than develop one. I would have rolled my eyes if Dean told Cas he needed him in s4. It took 5 seasons to get there. -

Its not that characters prefer Sam, its when the reasoning doesn't fit that I side eye. An interview with Shoshanna, or Mark P or Gen P, or Ruth and I would expect them to talk more about their characters relationship with Sam. But Richard is erasing a lot of history to force a non existent relationship with Sam. Sam's 'I need you' was seriously a big WTF moment because why? That come out of nowhere based on character interactions. Gabriel killed Dean over and over and put Sam through the ringer to make him learn a lesson. He was always the antagonist and neither Dean nor Sam seemed all that broken up about his death or gave him a second thought. It was Dean's that Gabe responded to, so saying that Gabriel doesn't respond to Dean's abrasiveness isn't true. Because it was Dean that helped convince Gabe to fight. -

https://www.themarysue.com/richard-speight-alexander-calvert-supernatural-interview/ I should have gone to see Infinity Wars tonight. Mean Dean is mean towards poor Gabriel. I knew they were going to try and co-opt "profound bond" for Sam and Gabriel. What relationship? Gabriel always interacted with Dean more. It was Dean Gabriel responded to in Hammer of the Gods. Sam and Dean havent' given Gabriel a single thought since his death but suddenly there is a connection between him and Sam. -

Since focusing on more than one thing is beyond these writers Im guessing next week will be more Sam's episode because it the one where Sam is supposed to go through something. Im guessing 22 might be Mary and hopefully the finale will be Dean's ep. -
