  1. I would like that commercial if the woman driving the Nissan picked up the other woman and drove her to a new, better job with a great future, leaving her asshole boss in the dust. Oh well.
  2. I had this on last night and fell asleep while it ran. Take this as a cautionary tale--do NOT do this to yourself. You don't even want to know what kinds of dreams were evoked...
  3. You know, I usually follow the old TWOP 5 page rule and I clearly got lazy on this one. D'oh! 😕
  4. I see that we have a topic for season 11, as it is airing in the UK. I thought I'd share this little tidbit in case others are like me and evidently live under a rock: Netflix will be premiering the new season of the Great British Bake Off on September 25. So I guess it's shown a few days earlier in the UK and then we get it on Netflix?
  5. I don't give a shit about this franchise anymore. I was more interested in the sidebar of that article that said the Great British Baking Show is coming back!!
  6. True, but people don't always do what they should. His method of coping might have been to completely stay in denial, and researching the addiction would not go along with that.
  7. Except...as annoying as that ad is, you were able to remember and exactly recite the benefit of Allstate, because they pounded it into your head.
  8. Even to this vegetarian, those corned beef hash brown waffles looked yummy.
  9. I have had to stop watching because all it's doing is making me spiral into hopelessness. I agree with shok about wishing everyone would listen to Rachel's insights, but I fear she's only preaching to the choir. FWIW, I don't want her to ever stop digging for and exposing the truth, but personally, I've already committed to my actions for this November and if my vote doesn't make a difference, Canada is looking awfully good.
  10. At least it's a song in a commercial that makes sense. Zillow will help you find a house no matter where you want to live. Better than using a snippet of a song about drugs or death because you like a tiny phrase in it.
  11. What kind of a baby is she having that needs 11 months of gestation?
  12. The dish is not compete unless they play Hunter's CD in the background
  13. I love that they're bringing this commercial back (~3 min)
  14. Here's a final hurrah to Drunk History:
  15. I was thinking the exact same thing. Holy crap, she was sexually molested at 6 years old, and everyone completely ignored it because it "hurt too much to face it"?? That's fucking messed up. And hey, kids are, and have always been very mean when they see someone who doesn't 'fit'. But I can't imagine having to face that level of bullying in school, only to go home and get bullied there by her family too. Shit, I'd be mainlining anything and everything. She is so broken, I don't know if she can ever be repaired.
  16. And how perfect that the end happens in 2020. Of course it does.
  17. I knew hat Marlon Brando was eccentric, especially in the latter half of his life, but WOW. That man had serious demons.
  18. I really like this song and commercial a lot. BUT, it is the epitome of an earworm in that I have it stuck in my head all day long. Before you click, you've been warned...
  19. If they're giving $2,000 as a discount, that would likely be about 10 -20% of the actual cost, so yeah, it makes sense that's how expensive they are.
  20. Assuming there have been about 100 or so participants, having 5 succeed would bear out the stats. I think they've had a few more than 5.
  21. It begs the question that given these two choices, would it be better to have a drunk pilot, or one who is depressed and riddled with anxiety?
  22. Gilda Radner's episode was heartbreaking. It is too common for doctors to tell a woman that it's "all in your head" or "it's hormones", particularly when they can't find the cause. She had signs of ovarian cancer for nearly 2 years before anyone took her seriously. Unfortunately by then it was stage 3. Hearing her voice as she recounted her journey was beautiful but sad. 42 is ridiculously young to die.
  23. Loved Roger saying (something like) "Run! He's calling the Von Trapp children!" when the guy whistled for his dogs.
