  1. Final season! Darn! Maybe they mean it is the final season for Face-Off, but not for Game Face?
  2. Well, I am glad that is over. Although it would have been rather groundbreaking to have a sitcom marriage break up after four years of being a (usually) happy couple, it was dreading the eventual episodes of Dre spoiling the kids (trying to buy their love) and Bow imploring him not to.
  3. I liked the old kitchen better. I'm guessing they only remodeled it to show that Dre and Bow did the nesting thing for weeks, not just a fews days. It might also be symbolic - the old kitchen, part of happier times, was bright and cheerful and the new kitchen is dark and dreary. These "marital troubles" episodes are depressing. Since they are putting 4 episodes on this arc and since their relationship has deteriorated so much, if Bow and Dre ending up staying together, they won't be able to just have them be happy immediately. In real life, it would take some time to heal this marriage. I am hoping they make up next episode, then, when the show comes back in the fall, they jump ahead a few months, and they are back to being the show I like to watch. . However, my hunch is that they are going to have them split.
  4. That would be a horrible way to die. Was the window of the car rolled down while it was submerged?
  5. So many things confused me about the congressman and his mistress/student/aide/intern/staff person and his wife - Dr. Lowe goes through a window of a submerged car to rescue the woman whose head is still above water - how is her head still above water? - Was the congressman or the woman driving the car? I thought, based on the bruise left by the seatbelt that the congressman was a passenger in the car - are we supposed to think he made her drive the car into the water or was it just a "happy accident" (happy because it gave him a way to get rid of her. - Did I miss a part where they explained that he took off the bracelet and that wife was the woman's teacher? Mama talks to the woman and mentions something about the wife being her teacher. Then Mama goes to the wife and asks who was supposed to get rid of the bracelet. But I don't remember them ever mentioning the bracelet before then. We also had to watch the part where Mama talks about coffee twice to understand that he was telling the wife to leave the congressman. I don't know if I should be paying more attention to this show or less attention - am I missing crucial information or should I be suspending disbelief?
  6. Jackie's pronunciation of Faberge was a joke that was beneath this show - seems like something they would have done on Beverly Hillbillies. I can go along with Andrea giving Becky a Faberge egg - Becky was giving Andrea one of her eggs, so Andrea gave Becky an egg. It being a Faberge egg jsut highlights that Andrea is wealthy. Besides, what other sort of egg could Andrea give. That said, the timing of giving her an egg was weird - who would give such an expensive gift so early in the process. Most would wait at least until there was a pregnancy. The whole thing just seems like it was only done to be the set up of a "Beverly Hillbillies type" joke. I think it is already too late. Darlene - snarky mom without enough money. Becky - lonely aunt who sleeps around and drinks too much.
  7. At my house, we way that you divide people into two groups - cake lovers who think the only purpose for frosting is to keep the cake from drying out and frosting lovers who say that the only reason for cake is to have a place to put frosting. Naked cakes are for that small percentage of cake lovers who don't care if their cake is dried out. It cannot be said too often Perhaps, instead of replacing the hosts, they should replace the writers for the hosts. And replace the hair stylists too If you haven't heard, The Great British Baking Show (or Bake Off, if you are outside the US) does just that - bakers baking with enough time, no twists, and the challenges weren't ridiculous. It is wonderful. Past Seasons can be found on Netflix. ABC had and American version called the Great Holiday/American Baking Show, which also had no twists or ridiculous challenges, but, unfortunately, it did have a judge who was a sexual harasser (not on camera) and they pulled the show after the first episode of the most recent season. You may be able to find earlier seasons online.
  8. This show is not on my short list of "shows I just can't wait to watch" so I saw the birthday party episode yesterday. It highlights why this show is not more watchable - they write the details to fit the plot they want, and the details do not always make sense in real life. They needed everyone to be upset about the birthday party in order to prove that Adam can't plan a party. There are many ways they could have done this, but they went with some "rule" about "if one person can't make it to the party, you have to reschedule the whole thing." I do not know anyone who would follow that rule in real life. However, I could overlook that if Adam hadn't scheduled sleepovers for the kids. But they decided to put that in and now, thanks to this "rule," they have to inconvenience the families that where the kids were to spend the night just because Marcy can't make it? Why did the kids have sleepovers anyway? The oldest one is old enough to babysit. And most parents I know would have their school age children at their birthday party (since it was at a restaurant and not some non-kid-friendly place).
  9. You are not alone. I liked being pregnant. First one was a week late and I was fine with it. Second one was on her due date. Last one was almost two weeks late and, for the last few days, I was ready for the birth, but not so bad that I was trying out old wives' tales or eating at the restaurant whose pizza is supposed to make you go into labor. I did get a strong nesting instinct, so I would have been ready for all of them even if they had been a few weeks early.
  10. Anyone else bothered that JJ bought a cigar? I was, but then I figured it was symbolic, because he would need help smoking it. I don't remember how they got inside, I just assumed it had a remote.
  11. I assume he will use the garage door remote and enter/exit through the driveway.
  12. I was surprised the sisters didn’t insist that the Sharks keep their dad’s name on the tape (and, as others have mentioned, ask for a royalty) Store owners aren’t going to want change guy’s screen taking up counter space snd store employees aren’t going to want it taking away their tips When I was a kid, we had a thing that you put an egg in and you could make it go around by turning a crank. It had a little arm to hold a marker, which would write on the egg as it turned. It got boring quickly. I thought the egg/ornament thing was much too expensive to be successful. I wonder if people who bought one found another use for it that made it worth the price I figured scooter guy wasn’t going to get a deal when the sharks didn’t even ask about the car - cost to make, how long a charge lasts, etc
  13. I think the twists prevent the possibility of anyone acing the challenge. It is bad enough that they made them incorporate juice into the dish, and insisting that they had to be able to taste the juice, but they told them about this twist after most of them had already baked whatever they were baking. I think the kids are great. I think Duff and Valerie make great judges. If they would jsut stop throwing in twists, this show might be perfect.
  14. Did they have 50 baskets of food waiting backstage? Asian nachos is a much harder category than the others. My best idea would be to go southern Asia and have naan with chicken curry, paneer (cheese), and riata (for the sour cream).
  15. Candace's outfit was worse, but I wish Helen had gone home. She is very un-self-aware or she's self-un-aware...uh...she is lacking self awareness and she is such a crybaby. You want to tell the judges how you think everyone else is and how much better you are, fine, but don't act like they are picking on you if the others complain. Speaking of Halloween...The placement of the black on Fabio's dress looked like a jack-o-lantern face to me. Fabio's was still my favorite. I was okay with Stanley's, but thought it would have looked better if it were shorter. It took me a while to realize that I wasn't the only one giving likes. I kept thinking "Why am I the only one that likes this post? They must have fixed the "like heart" right before I logged on."
  16. For a second, I thought we were going to have to change Chris's name to Christen and he would be sent packing ...and then win LCK anc come back and win the finale - it gave me flashbacks of Kristen and Josie. Perhaps, if Claudette would have kept her mouth shut, the judges would have let Chris take the fall. But Claudette just could stop herself from being herself. I am so glad she is gone. I remember other teams doing well in Restaurant Wars in the past, but I don't ever remember a team doing so well that the judges said it didn't seem like it was the first day they were open. True, but it begs the question - What was she trying to influence them to do?
  17. Conrad wanted Bell to talk to the family of the coma girl to convince them to take her off life support and donate her organs so that the teacher would get a heart. Bell refused. After the first heart was deemed not a good match for the rich guy (because Conrad did the wrong thing - switching the blood samples - for the right reason) Bell talked the coma girl’s mother into taking her off life support. While he was talking to her, one of the characters (I think the nurse) said that Bell was doing “the right thing for thr wrong reason.” That is what I based my comment on. But he actually wasn’t doing really doing the right thing because, since his patient was the one who would benefit from the donation, it is against the rules for him to talk to the mom (which is why Conrad did not talk to her earlier). One could argue that Bell did the wrong thing for the wrong reason, but two wrongs made a right. edited because I shouldn't post from my phone, especially if I am not wearing glasses.
  18. Bell does the right thing for the wrong reasons and Conrad does the wrong thing for the right reasons. I will give this show a few more episodes, just because I want to see Karma catch up with Bell. However there will be a lot of ignoring things that don't make sense - like Conrad deciding that he isn't going to see any patients that day and go sit with one patient instead, or Davon, all by himself, getting patients from 20 doctors who are all leaving at the same time. And I can't figure out if Conrad is an ER doctor or not - he sees patients in the ER, but then the patients seem to stay there for days or else he also is their doctor once they leave the ER. If the acting wasn't so good, this could be a fun show to make fun of.
  19. Oops! Thanks for the correction. Yeah, Conrad was pretty skeevy. I am hoping that it will be toned down in the future. Pilots often contain things that get adjusted afterward, probably after the test audience has seen it.
  20. I thought it was a little heavy handed. Then again, it was the pilot and things often get toned down in later episodes. On a personal note, I like that they didn't try to make it realistic by having a bunch of background noise - my ears are now old enough that I have trouble tuning out background noise. He wasn't planning on it by the patient really wanted him to and the patient was a big donor. Plus, they wanted to show off the new equipment. Besides, the chief of surgery probably knew he would not really be doing the surgery. Then again, this hospital allows a guy who can't cut a nectarine to perform surgery. :-)
  21. They definitely have a cast of "characters" that they try to mold the contestants into. Every season there is at least one nerdy/goofy guy, a good looking guy with limited understanding (either not too bright or limited English), a ditzy woman, an older woman who is "in love" with the male chef, a hipster (usually a woman). Plus, there are a number of scatterbrained and/or messy contestants. A woman who thinks she is a princess an a man who is hoping cooking fixes his love life as common, but perhaps not every season. However, this season, they seemed to have toned down the characters a bit and the contestants seem less coached. Therefore, I am actually liking this season better than the last few.
  22. Not only did I not see the "inspiration" but there was only one pairing that looked, to me, like the outfits "complimented" each other and that was Josh and Amanda and that was only because both outfits were black. Even Whoopi Goldberg knows fashion better than me.
  23. My understanding of what was going on probably would have been helped if I actually watched it instead of mostly just listening while I was exercising.
  24. Your guess is better than mine. At first, I thought it was separate days - but why would Colleen be so happy about it each time -- there would have been a "Don't answer your phone this time" comment at some point. So I changed my theory to it all took place the same day and figured the final punch line would be that the clinic told him that he has to wait 3 days between collections. But that wasn't a theory for long because there were too many collections to be one day and it would make no sense for Colleen to come home and take a selfie each time. Besides Tim was wearing the I-got-my-eyes-dilated glasses on during a later collection and he wouldn't have those on days after his optometrist appointment. Your theory that it was just Matt imagining what could go wrong and deciding to do it at the clinic instead makes more sense. No matter how you interpret it, this episode lost the "1 family, 4 stories" theme.
