  1. 20 years since they had their own bedroom. ten years since they had a dinner table. be proud! BUSH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ------------------------------------------------ how many trips to the junkyard would it take to move all those tires? reminds me of the scene where they towed home three pieces of lumber from the sawmill. and then all the lumber was magically just there. btw, stagnant water in those tires will be a happy place for mosquitos. and cardboard under the flooring? that will get damp and stay damp. ------------------------------------------------ don't tell the girl that your mom signed you up for the matchmaker. as presented on the show, none of the boys are date-worthy, and of course are not husband material. mom thinks the oldest is starting to get to an age where he needs to think about his future. hmmm,......maybe give the apron strings a few more years, just to be sure. shoot for age 40. she seems to think spreading his wings means building a one-room cabin 100 feet from mom and dad. good plan. can't miss. granbabees in browntown! BUSH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. maybe Marcus has a plan to use Brooklyn Burger in the Standard Burger restaurants. But I have doubt that Marcus will get rights to Brooklyn Burger - unless he buys it (again). is Standard Burger a good name? I thought he would suggest a name change.
  3. before I forget,......... I liked seeing the deckhand light his cigarette with a torch. and later say "serenity now". :) that seemed to start when he got his captain's license. as if that was all that was needed to get a captain's job. maybe he thought Edgar was a permanent deck boss, since he had stayed in that spot for so long. it's unclear to me if talk of getting a boat means a JOB as a boat captain, or PART OWNER of a boat, which you can be a captain on. I see no reason anyone would give Jake boat owner equity just because he is an employee with a captain's license. seems like he would need several years of relief captain experience before anyone would even think of hiring him as a captain (employee).
  4. nice catch! I turned on the last few minutes of the rerun to see it. yup! the breath was visible. haha. there's enough room upstairs to set up five single beds. or some bunkbeds. but no,........ not rustic enough. not part of the bush theme. so they have to sleep on the floor. I'm ready to see how they will light the house. kerosene lanterns? or maybe the inside of the house will just be filmed during daylight hours. after dark, they will be sitting around a campfire. (in the rain!) :)
  5. I noticed his experienced non-answer on the radio, too. he knew it was best to let them make their own determination. I did like his three-second look at the camera the first time one of CG guys said it was hot. if Freddy is big enough to harass greenhorns for not playing the game, he is big enough to be replaced when he does not play the game. I didn't recognize the replacement deckhand, but if he was an ex-Elliot deckhand, that would a be good thing. And he was ready to go. I guess Monty knew who he was. I took that as the boat amount, not the person amount. iirc, it was higher because of the type of crab.
  6. or the real owners of the property only need two bedrooms. :) were they hatless in the rain again? it happens so often that I don't always notice it. http://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/alaskan-bush-people/videos/the-browns-settle-into-their-new-home/ the best place to put that rifle, is to prop it up the corner of the room. out of the way. there, it would be less likely to be stepped on or knocked over. and easy to find in the dark, when bears typically invade the second story in a coordinated building attack. oh, yeah, it wouldn't be pointed at someone's head when they are rearranging some crap on the floor. 20 years since they had their own bedroom? FAIL
  7. see #1 http://www.cracked.com/article_19389_the-8-most-badass-make-a-wish-foundation-wishes_p2.html also, http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/local-boy-with-cancer-turns-into-a-superhero-for-a-day/
  8. only two bedrooms? the "wolf pack" has nine humans in it. I think there could have been four small bedrooms upstairs instead of two bedrooms and some open space. maybe the upstairs open space is for the cameras and lights and stuff. so,.......the plan is for 25+ and 30+ year-old sons to live their lives by sleeping on the floor. because family. ???? I guess it's relative. the first season, their big plan was for all nine to live in a one-room cabin. right. ------------------------- were they sitting around in the rain again? talking about stuff. but wait, isn't that a house over there? maybe have big family discussions inside, when it's raining outside. ------------------------- oldest son, stop messing around with goofy shacks. build a cabin.
  9. iirc, a couple a seasons ago one of the boats had to dispose of some dead crab, and they motored out to sea to do it.
  10. the TB guys gave Josh a job when he needed it. that's enough reason for the CM guys to hire Scotty. bonus that is experienced and seems to be good at it. before I forget, when Josh came down to help the deckhands, I immediately noticed he was full of energy, having some fun. and the deckhands were tired (of course). that just reinforced the disconnect between the deckhands and Josh. after a few seconds, they cut to a deckhand saying they were tired and Josh wasn't.
  11. they might have to dip into their PFD money. I predict a settlement that includes a payback on the money, and community service. the community service will be running a welcome center for cruise ship tourists in Ketchikan. cruise ship companies will protest, but to no avail. 90 days later, Ketchikan is a ghost town, inhabited by an occasional miner from a gold reality show, and a strangely optimistic matchmaker.
  12. of course I don't know the details of the company paperwork, but it seems that if one partner could keep the other partner from taking a salary or doing anything,....... then couldn't one partner prevent the company from accepting more investment money (Marcus's money) ? that might explain the buyout. or it was just faster/easier to buy him out.
  13. I was letting the show run in the background a few days ago. I noticed that when they were within site of their new location, the oldest son says something about finding a cave and building his own house in it. this is the guy who built the saran wrap hut. and previews showed him building a tire hut. put all three things together, and I think he is over-ready for some independence. a place of his own, without eight relatives in it. ah, I just watched this youtube vid, and I see the blue tarps. I suspect there will be some shingles or something up there, soon. from that vid, I got the impression that it was a good house, with some things intentionally made to look rustic.
  14. why doesn't the landlord evict them and do the legal work to void the contract? what is he waiting for?
  15. mentally, I am hearing DaVinci being pronounced with a special bush family accent.
  16. wild guess: maybe Elliot left in a hurry because leaving would avoid the risk of having to deal with the coast guard or police. and the aggravation of continuing to deal with disco. it would take a while for disco to remove all their cameras and gear. Josh and the new chair. haha. I kind of get what he was saying, that with limited money, he didn't want to risk it by trying something new - he was going to wait and do something he was familiar with. but when Keith offered to help him *find* the crab, well........ it was time to accept that offer. that was a really good moment. the line was delivered straight, and Jake thought it was funny, too. iirc, that was the deckhand who had to be persuaded to take a bath a couple seasons ago.
  17. all he needs is a captain to run the boat. he can stay ashore and cash the checks. or park the boat or sell the boat. and lease out the quota. I'd like to read more about this quota stuff. what little I've read about it makes it seem like owning quota (and leasing it out) is where the best/easy money is.
  18. iirc, he was being paid, just not as much as when he worked a corporate job. I doubt the outside brother will return to work there. He could probably do well, making/selling drum sets on his own. why deal with the baggage and hassle of that old company? ...... that he owns no part of.
  19. I only saw (most of) the last half hour. I thought the train scenes and "shots" were well done. sitting on the front of the train...... yeah. and the beach scenes. there was one closeup shot where a young boy looks into the camera for a couple of seconds, then looks back towards the beach. he wasn't playing or even acting curious. he was just "seeing us". nice shot.
  20. they have a nice roof. it magically appeared. shazam! I am going to guess that they hold off on installing a regular door, though. that would be too civilized. they might hang some skins or a tarp instead. that would be more rustic. and, uhh,...... what's the word? ............. oh, yeah. authentic what's that in the background? over there, next to the hoosier cabinet? oh, a dehumidifier.
  21. I'd still like to see that first location on google maps. and the second location. satellite photos would be nice, too. is it too late to send some spare parkas to them?
  22. that will be so easy. look for all the personal ads seeking "men over 30, no job, living with parents". ok, that was snarky. :)
  23. I am waiting to see what sort of things magically appear. furniture? heating system? stove? lights? generator? full pantry? water system?
  24. how many months per year would a standard deckhand on this show work?
