  1. I’m disappointed in all the season 3 fakery. Not sure why. The first two seasons were much more absorbing, whether I liked the couple or not. Since week 1 the boat people story seemed totally fake. I don’t believe they live on the boat, which is totally unsafe for a young girl to be by herself at night. I didn’t buy the turned away at the hospital story. Who has an elective induction at midnight. Love Aly and Josh and I could watch those little girls forever. But the pills on the floor story was fake. Jamilyn, Matt and Crystal have to be in cahoots with their fake storyline. It is totally unbelievable that the toddler lives nonstop with Dad and girlfriend, even with a newborn in the house. Matt may be a creepy guy but I don’t believe the three hours in the gym story. Also the fight dialogue seems scripted. I don’t care for the triplet family, especially Mom. More fakery here, why are high risk newborns discharged at night. I saw a few scenes of newborns, then the babies seemed to be three or four months old even though storyline said it was the next day. I don’t believe she cares for the babies by herself, yet has time for hair and makeup. Mariah and her boyfriend are the most authentic, two immature, naïveté kids. I keep thinking her mother Barbara has been on a show before. Does anyone else recognize her? I’m racking my brain to place her.
  2. Poor Lux, I feel sorry for any kid named after soap suds. Isaac and Lincoln are such cute kids and they each have Dads that love them. Lux will not compare in the looks department and has no Dad in his life. Wonder how many more kids Kail will pump out in the next fifteen years. Maybe she will have another one with Javi. I’m very pleased Joe executed a legal custody arrangement to protect Isaac. Kail could move to Timbuktu tomorrow and try to take the kids with her. Chelsea threw a fit over nothing when Aubrees grandma came to the door. Grow up. Be thankful her grandparents love her and take her for weekends. I’m tired of Chelsea and her baby voice. Leah loves her kids but is tone deaf on preserving Ali’s energy. My heart aches for that sweet child. Wonder when we will read about Barb’s attempt to limit visitation with his gun happy mother. MTV needs to fire Jenelle.
  3. So much to be concerned about and the Duggar women only care about casseroles. I couldn’t eat any of that slop if my life depended on it. The nonsensical patter about Joy not being all that big was so contrived. Probably to combat the rumors about the date of conception. Then Jessa makes a pointed remark about a honeymoon baby. Joy was absolutely huge with a swollen face. Possibly early toxemia. I doubt she had prenatal care because a physician would detect the oversized fetus. A physician would detect the baby was breech. A trained certified midwife would have detected the baby was breech but the on the job trained country midwives did not. If Jill was the person in charge??? This show downplayed a huge medical emergency. I wonder if the baby presented as a footling breech, when the feet emerge from the cervix. To think they were thirty minutes from a hospital upset me to no end. I really fear one of these Moms or infants will suffer grave consequences if these home births continue, they were lucky this time. I hope baby boy was not deprived of oxygen.
  4. I've been hoping and praying Nathan's family would intervene for Kaiser. I can hardly watch the shows depicting the cruel treatment by Jenelle and David toward this beautiful child. Another grandmother stepping in to save a child, bless all the Grandmothers raising kids born to unfit parents. MTV needs to drop Jenelle, enough is enough. Child abuse crosses the line. This is not entertainment.
  5. I don't buy the PPD story because Adam is fully functional and turns his "depression" on and off for filming. He is more of a glass half empty personality, a little morose at times. It would be abnormal if he were devoid of concern about Hazel's challenges. In our culture everyone seems to over diagnose mental health issues. A pastor cannot diagnose anything. I like the family, especially Danielle who is a wonderful Mom. She loves her kids but more importantly she likes and enjoys them. But I worry they are exposing their kids way too much and they should pull back. I think about the lovely New Jersey family who quit TLC after a season or two. Sextuplets and one was severely handicapped. I also think this should have been a thirty minute show. There isn't enough story for a full hour. I turned the channel as soon as the depression talk started.
  6. Jazz lost me with her dismissive and disrespectful treatment of her grandfather.
  7. I totally agree Noelle is lovely and gentle and wise. My heart aches for someone in her situation. However transgender is not the norm in society and will be never be a normal state. Gender dysmorphia is listed in DSM V. The college kids were just being honest. Jeanette can paint the rosiest picture, maybe to make herself feel better.
  8. Regarding Jazz and weight issues, we must remember Jazz is a biological male and always will be. She will never be a nymph like delicate person. She eats like a teenage boy, which she is. I totally agree this should be the last season to film and her father needs to pull the plug on social media, TV and all public appearances. I'm seriously concerned about her mother promoting unhealthy activities. Call the birthday party a drag show or strip club- it makes no difference. People were throwing money at the performers to take off their clothes, even if they don't strip all the way down. Any parent arranging this type of event needs serious help. I wonder how she does in school, sometimes oppositional kids like this refuse to go. Academics should be her focus, not flying around the country investigating surgery. Rebuilding her bottom will not be a magic bullet. There is research out there that indicates depression remains a huge issue after trans surgery.
  9. I haven't been to one but surely a strip club is adult only. How did a 16 year old get in, TLC must have pulled strings. After this episode I am convinced Jeanette needs therapy herself and Greg needs to end this TV exposure. Jazz has the emotional maturity of a grade school kid. Puberty was suppressed and maturity did not happen. She is not ready to drive, date, be on a TV show, visit strip clubs or have any surgery. The mother spent years trying to convince viewers life was hunky dory and Jazz had a rosy future. This pretense has been blown up.
  10. Jazz is indeed spoiled and feels entitled to whatever. She demands everyone tow the party line 100% and is intolerant of other view points. She has the most loving and supportive grandparents but threw a fit when the grandfather stated he understood the concerns about bathrooms. Her mother should have supported Grandpa. I wonder how the other three kids feel. Families with a special needs child can be so involved with the one.
  11. I don't believe for a minute that the parents were not informed what would happen as a result of the testosterone blocking med. I would bet they signed informed consents detailing what would happen. Jazz was neutered, rendered sterile and the family would have been told. Jazz did not go through puberty and never developed secondary sexual characteristics. I am astounded the family put the story on national TV, right down to discussions about anatomy, physiology, biology, sex drive. If the motive is making money (of course it is) Quit filming and have Jeanette get a job. She appears well educated and should be employable. I am tired of this mother expressing outrage at social media comments. Doesn't she realize going on a reality show and revealing intimate details will be controversial? Mom seems to be in a hurry for Jazz to undergo body mutilating surgery that is irreversible and not a panacea for gender dysmorphia. Discussions of colon vaginoplasty should shock the parents into putting their foot down and just saying no. Jazz is 16 years old and not mature.
  12. Rob had to be in on this storyline, we heard his voice on the phone, regardless it is sick for a family to discuss Rob is obese, , Rob is depressed, Rob needs help. These people are so vile. The Kim story is also fake, I have a medical background and it is nonsense to go in years later to get a placenta. A surrogate is probably pregnant already.
  13. I missed a few episodes then watched the Christmas vacation show. I am mostly apathetic. I liked Michelle a little more, maybe she relaxed a little bit in front of the cameras. I'm sure they hope the freebies will roll in but I think there is reality family fatigue. I want to watch the house hunting episode. Their rental home is lovely and seems to be in pristine condition, maybe they will use the TLC money to try to buy it. Any plans for a custom little person home are pie in the sky for a family with modest earning potential.
  14. I've always said Jessica Capshaw is so under appreciated. She has been superb this season. I cannot stomach Callie with her ever again. The surgery marathon was so unbelievably stupid. Shonda thinks her audience is really stupid to believe all the flaws in this story. First of all neurosurgeons are generally much older and have real gravitas. Experimental neuro surgery would never be performed by a solo surgeon, with no peer co neurosurgeon of any kind assisting. Neurosurgery would never be assisted by a general surgery resident a year or two out from her Internship, there would be neurosurgery fellows assisting. Neurosurgeons train ten or fifteen years after medical school. They do a five to seven year general surgery residency, then they do an equally long neuro fellowship . The most stupid of all was the lack of a radiology oncologist, they are the ones who place the radiation beads in the wound. Stupid, stupid stupid, guess I've said it a few times.
  15. My guess is the other tourists in DC saw the family with the TLC camera crew, boom mikes and production people and wondered if they were seeing celebs, therefore they snapped pictures. Michelle is offended yet she is on a reality TV program focusing on her kids and family life. You cannot have it both ways. I highly doubt tourists would be taking their pictures if they were casually touring on their own. I don't think the show will be renewed. Regarding the family living in a three story home, it is in a row of townhouses and is probably what they could afford as a young family. I doubt they could afford a one story home with much square footage, a much more expensive option on a square foot basis. Townhouse living is very common in he greater DC area which is a mega expensive place to live. I don't know much about Annapolis and its housing market.
  16. The character of Amelia should have been aborted last year, it is laughable. The actress is so blah, so boring, I can barely stay awake. The tumor schumer story is beyond dumb, just like Merediths pancreatic tumor and the 3D tumor. I think it is time to retire this show, the writers have lost their focus which should be on the core characters. Arizona is a bright light, Jessica Capshaw is so underrated. The physicians sitting like lap dogs listening to the lectures would never happen. A real doctor would never set himself up for failure and lawsuits, the surgery is probably experimental if no one does it. In real life physicians don't make surgeries up as they go along. I think Callie will alert the chief and others, they will come to the rescue. Herman will survive but will probably be blind. The fetal surgery story line is so blown out of proportion, most of it is experimental and rarely done.
  17. The mother's voice is very loud, does anyone in the family have a hearing impairment? She is a little dramatic as well but overall is a caring mother.
  18. I am so disappointed in this winter season. I enjoyed the previous 18 months of shows but this most recent episode was just stupid and inconsistent. It is obvious the producers are out to prove Meredith is the sun but they are reaching too hard. Last week she is convinced a trauma patient had an obscure pancreatic cancer that caused an auto accident, really? This past week Meredith the sun queen performs a most magical resection of a huge jagged tumor invading heart and lungs, really? What happened to the nanny from last week? Are we supposed to believe the children of two physicians live in a 24 hour day care center just like the children of Wal Mart third shifters? Really now. I'm so disappointed in the 15 second April and Jackson scenes, their story is so short changed. She is a marvelous actress and he is pretty darn good. Their story is full of drama but the producers ruin it with the tilt to religious fervor. really? Why does the female Dr Shepard get so much air time? She is boring and has no appeal to me. I see there are next to no comments about this show, it is probably time to wind it down.
  19. My old friend Fostersmom (amalficoast here) said it for me, Will is the most joyful, delightful boy. I love him to pieces. And I'm so pleased to see Zooey doing so well. I love the bond she has with Jen's mother, those little arms are always reaching up to Nana.
  20. Actually all US taxpayers paid for this gaggle of kids, Medicaid has been involved. Medicaid is a fifty fifty split state and Feds share the cost. The taxpayers of PA paid for a night nurse for the first year of the sextuplets life. After a year the state cut the nurse off. The kids were not medically fragile so strings must have been pulled. I didn't watch the show and I'd pretty much quit following Kate's story after years of getting upset with her behavior. I feel bad for all eight kids. I'm not surprised to read the twins are unpleasant, their role model is so negative and bitter. By and large the public has moved on from Kate so I was real surprised she got more TLC exposure. Please don't watch this show.
  21. Reed and Natalie are great players, I'm totally rooting for Nat. I love her! If she makes finals her jury speech will be well thought out and convincing. Jon and Jacqueline are getting too much camera time. A couple times I wondered if the argument was fake. His fake tears really turned me off, what a cad choosing survivor if his Dad is really dying. Is it possible Missy cries because bad news comes to Jon? Jacqueline better find a dermatologist now to watch her for signs of malignant melanoma. She is taking ridiculous chances with the sun. Go Natalie! She definitely deserves The people's choice. Remember to vote for her.
  22. I was disappointed in this episode, too soap opera like. I hated all the confidentiality breaches, especially the resident carrying around the ultrasound report. I despise the doomed baby storyline. The fighting over the treatment plan made me want to change the channel. I'm sick to death of Meredith and Derrick and feel it is time for him to leave Seattle and leave this show. I wish they would focus on one or two stories per episode instead of short shrifting everything. I would like less Callie and more Arizona. I want much more of April and Jackson. They are overdoing the long lost sister story.
  23. OMG, this show about nothing is less than nothing. Last week she has a migraine, this week he has a migraine. Next week It will be Liam's turn to get a migraine. The storylines seemed extra fake last night, especially the one about the rehab friend killing himself. She probably paid Charlie to go along with this ruse storyline about meeting up. I don't know how he stands her. I think he relates well to the kids and last season we saw how happy they were when he got home. I hope Candy gets involved with the kids, someone needs to step in.
  24. Oh my, I'm still in shock about the popcorn and root beer float refreshments. It is one thing to be thrifty but the Duggars are beyond cheap not to serve food. They didn't even have tables and chairs for the guest who stood outside after the wedding. Families came in from California and around the country to attend this wedding. Presumably they all gave gifts and probably quite a few gave cash. In return they get a bag of popcorn? Couldn't JB have spent a few thousand on some food? They could rent tables, chairs and get something modest like finger sandwiches. Punch and cake weddings are very rare nowadays. I don't believe in blowing the family fortune on a wedding but it seemed disrespectful to guests to serve nothing of substance. The Duggars are millionaires. I was embarrassed for them. I love to snark but there is something very endearing about Jill, Jana and Joyanna. I have no interest in the Jessa engagement and will not watch much. I hope Jana finds a soulmate soon, she has so much love to give. Cathy appeared to be quite ill, oxygen dependent. I have not read much about her illness but I'm worried. I don't think people are making fun of Josie when they snark about the miracle child. Many of us got sick of hearing about precious Josie when the same parents seemed so indifferent to the other precious kids.
  25. Reality shows are the most authentic in the early seasons. After a while participants, whether they are house guests or housewives often model themselves based on what a previous person did on that show. Derrick played the most intelligent game ever, utilizing his education and training to assess his rivals. A lot of us can accurately assess personality types but few people would be able to execute the perfect strategy based on these assessments. Nicole may have been the second smartest HG as she was one of the first to understand Derricks brilliant play.
