I'm curious about the John/Sami/Stefano/Andre stuff - curious, only - but the rest is so meh. I am honestly flabbergasted by how stupidly this show handled Peter R's brief wrap-up return. As you've all said, the post-near-death-experience roll in the hay with Hope is just...disgusting. Because she's still in shock. Because she's grieving the loss of her late husband at the same time. Because she's still upset with Bo. And because he didn't disclose his condition. And of course, they didn't have to write it this way. Bo could have returned while Hope and Aiden were engaged, he could have realized Hope had moved on with a good man, and then upon learning he was doomed, bid final farewells or something. Or heck, we could have learned that Aiden's dead wife really WASN'T killed by his son or something. That would still throw Aiden under the bus, but at least built on established continuity and make this last-minute course correction seem pre-planned in some way. As you've all said - why did Bo need a brain tumour when we saw him getting physically destroyed and tortured for weeks and he already had a pre-existing pancreas condition? The way they did things makes me throw my hands up in the air. This isn't romantic for Bope fans. It's like spinning someone around on a tire in a park and them offering them a slice of their favourite cake. The cake's great, sure, but by that point you'll puke. And making it all seem like one long day? Really now? Baffled. And I can't figure why they'd throw Eric under the bus by having him accidentally kill Dan. That just further sanctifies Dan and pushes Eric and Nicole apart. I don't get that!!! Where's the payoff for those who've watched Eric and Nicole dance around each other for YEARS now? I'm not a fan of their pairing necessarily, mind you, but lordy...what was the point of all this? I look back over Eric's entire SL since what...2012?...and am at a loss to make sense of any of it. He comes back as a priest, has feelings (I think? Maybe? Can't remember) for Nicole, who definitely has feelings for him still, then gets raped out of nowhere by Kristin, then Nicole trashes the evidence, then Eric has to give up his chance to prosecute to save John (with whom he seemingly has no relationship, FYI), then Serena shows up, he seems to be finally getting a storyline, but then the elephant stuff happened, he almost gets frisky with Nicole and then...he's jobless and depressed and drinking and Nicole gets with Dan and..he accidentally kills his sort-of rival? There aren't enough question marks in the world. If they were smart, they'd have Jennifer and Dan get back together - since I think those two were actually a fan-fave pairing (though I might be wrong - I know how people miss Jack and felt he was shafted...pun intended) and send them off together and let Eric and Nicole similarly go off together. But sending Eric to prison? After all this? I'm baffled. Some more.

I don't like Adrienne or her SL but love Judi. Hope one of these years things turn around...

I recall Ciara messing with the pictures of Kristin paying off the man who mugged Brady right before Marlena got them in time to keep Brady from marrying Kristin. I don't think she knowingly kept evidence from Hope, but she certainly took the envelope with the pictures at some point and later got a lecture from Mom.

Wait....Philip's got two whole legs again? Or do we just not see the prosthetic because of budget issues? Yes, Brady knows but it took a little while for it to come out. It's one of the reasons he's so mean to her, but I think he was more pissed that Theresa was going to let him take the blame for John's coma rather than John actually being in a coma. Brady/Kristen seems like yesterday. I can't believe it was that long ago. Kitty, did Brady find out before Kristin stole the fetus or after? Was he with Mel at the time? I can't remember and most of the post-wedding stuff was taken off YT :( ...I am enjoying the Bristin storyline anew through clips I never saw before. We got a scene with Kristin explaining how Stefano rescued her from Harem Island!! I never knew! And Eileen KILLS it. Woman can act with a capital A. And the stuff with her and John at the cabin is great too. And yes, she and Eric M are pretty electric together. Shame it got campier and more disjointed once Father Eric was raped...hated that.

I'm not an Andre fan so I don't want him to have the honor. He's so smug its boring. ....and truth be told, I'm going to be more misty about Joe being off the show than anyone else who is leaving. So Eric AND Nicole are leaving? And they're going to be arguing again and hating each other on the way out? Over the death of Dr. Tan? Count me out!

Ooooookaaaaaaay. I didn't get all that. I was eating as I watched so thanks for giving me the nuances there. Okay. That's not terrible writing then. I guess I'm just so disappointed in this overall Anniversary I'm burned out.

I happened to see bits of today and yes, I'm still swearing off the show and no, I wasn't kidding, but the sight of Sami briefly caught my interest. If this is supposedly still the DAY AFTER THE WEDDING, has Sami been imprisoned for all of five minutes before Andre went to tell Marlena? Sami being taken has no impact because A) all of her "EJ and I are awesome together!1!" crap sounds pathetic, B) Marlena is pulling out the exact same tired song she used to try and save her own hide from being thrown out a window (except it failed to have any effect on Stefano then too, Mar, remember?) C) we have NO CONCRETE IDEA just what was in the safety deposit box or why it would be valuable or scary to Andre and D) we've seen some variation of this already, times a hundred, and the budget and writing was far better. And E) We know Sami will be fine and escape quickly and EJ ain't coming back. ...and still I watched. Parts. What's sadder? I can't can't can't deal with this Bo story's ADD. Bo's back! Aiden's dead! Hope's sad! Aiden was good! Aiden was crazy! Hope's sad! Bo's happy! Bo's dying! Hope's sad! Bo's Team Rafe! Go kiss Rafe, Hope! !?!?!?!!!?!? It almost makes me long for more scenes of Eve's grief. At least I could follow that. Black Patch is beyond stupid. I hope Jawn pulls a muscle hanging the sign over the doorway and has to take all the seats and appreciate his wife for a change. Remember how you promised to re-devote yourself to her? No? You fear aging? Alrighty then. I'd rather see John get killed off than Bo. Wish we could have switched. John and his (who here came up with it again?) "Pelican Kisses" nauseate me. Kayla is a great actress stuck in a lousy show. I think she trashed her desk over storyline frustration. Gee, how coincidental that Ava's hotel room has the same layout as Kristin's did. And the same built-in bar. And the same painting. And she last used that room in 2013, people. Makeover STAT! ...when was the last time anyone saw Paul? Has he been killed by Ben between scenes?

I only saw Bo's park freakout today...and that was enough for me. This is depressing as hell, and I don't need it. Life is hard enough. I am out. See y'all later I guess. Probably when things pick up with Stefano or Kate. Probably in the New Year.

I LOVE Ben setting the bed on fire. I mean - really now - could there possibly be a better end for Abigail? LOL, I know it won't actually happen (and no, I'm not advocating that kind of thing) but I had to laugh when I saw that. Like, "did he finally get the memo?" Really hoping Joe M isn't out quite yet. I get that he needs time to himself now, but I won't feel right about them writing him out until they've proven they can do right by the vets...which I seriously question right now. I mean...who ISN'T getting killed off these Days?

I'm not sure if this qualifies, but I'm rewatching the Brady/Kristin arc of 2012/13 and...I'm actually kinda liking Brady. Like...a lot. Considering that since he fell for Kristin, he hasn't shown much compassion, generosity of spirit or playfulness. I'd like to credit the writers with delivering on the long-term fallout from that relationship...but I think that would be a step too far. Seems more likely a coincidence, since everything in soap land moves at light speed. Poor Brady's been mired down in Cave Man mode since 2013. But while he was with Kristin? He kind of a lovable lug. A moron? Absolutely. But a moron with heart, and interests (Art! Piano!?) and a conscience (I'll move into the DiMansion to make you happy!) and that character is nowhere to be found now. Hasn't been for some time. Did Brady ever figure out it was Theresa who put John in the coma?

Yeah I was wondering about the kids too - where did they spend the night? I can't get over how the last two weeks have been ONE NIGHT. That's just lazy writing. Lazy and crazy. And hazy. Phazy?

Sami and EJ are both pretty awful characters...but I think there's a difference (slight) between teenaged Sami and her plot to steal Austin away from her more popular sister Carrie by raping him (or pretending to?) and EJ actually raping Sami because...he...um...wanted to? His father told him to? His father wanted him and Sami together? I don't remember the details surrounding the EJ/Sami rape (I know it was to save Lucas' life or something) but I don't think you can easily equate these two bizarre events and call them equal. EJ's rape was an assault, direct and full of pride, and Sami's was...well I don't remember it exactly but I think it seemed less forceful. EJ practically bragged about it, right? With a big smile on his face? I'll say this - I liked the AS/JS chemistry too, but I hated hated hated the way the show tried to suggest that because Sami had been awful in the past, she deserved a messed-up guy who was bad for entirely different reasons and in entirely different ways. If Sami is a quasi-heroine (and she is, lets face it), then it would be nice to see her rise above her villainy and channel her nasty behaviour into something good...like her partnership with Kate, which was kind of the ultimate climax to her development. She realized (sorta) that her husband was an evil dirtbag, destroyed his company and his father (the show's ultimate villain) by teaming up with the evil mother-in-law she actually had a lot in common with who wasn't anywhere near as evil as the two men. Brilliant! Except then the writers backtracked and now it's "EJ was the best11!!" again without any justification for it. I get the coupling has fans, but it's pretty gross to say that because of Sami's worst mistake, she deserves to be paired up with a rapist. No one deserves to be raped - period. End of subject. The real shame here is that they went to such a dark place with EJ and in so doing made it impossible to really root for him as a character. I never saw him laughing about Kristin's rape of Eric, but that's also pretty awful (can anyone describe that scene?) Bottom line - even overlooking EJ's rape of Sami, the guy was involved in drug dealing and a cheater. Neither one of those two things make him likeable to me as a viewer. Sami dressing up like a man for a couple of months? As far as evil schemes go, that's pretty awesome, and exactly the kind of villainy I can enjoy watching. I just couldn't root for EJ. Yeah, I was just thinking about how Daniel is getting killed off soon too. Oy. I was thinking "well at least the Nicole/Dan wedding in a few months will wipe clean the memory of this fiasco with poor Aiden"...but nope. When I'm looking forward to a Daniel story you know this show is failing something fierce. And Eve is probably going to get into trouble with creepy Eddie too. So Bo, Daniel, Eve and by extension everyone else left on the show is going to miserable for the next few months. Wonderful. So...what are the happy things we can look forward to? Theresa/Kate/Nicole's business, if they continue to write that as a positive fun thing...and maybe a Marlena/John wedding? Cripes - two whole plots! Wow! What I wouldn't give for some Susan shennanigans or Vivian and Yvon or Celeste and her campy visions. Anything for a laugh. Maybe Judi Evans can play her South Western Mama character again instead of Adrienne? She was fun...

Well lucky me :( Hulu is not my friend. And really - who exactly were these videos hurting? It's not like NBC reruns the show or sells DVDs or anything... Thanks for attempting to search for the videos Boes.

Okay, I'm having trouble finding clips of Kristin/Eric/Brady/Marlena from the 2012-15 storylines...there used to be a bunch on the U Tube but now....gone! Kristin falling out the window? Gone. Eric confronting Kristin after the botched wedding? Gone. Kristin stealing Theresa's baby? Gone. Did NBC pull a bunch of videos or shut down an account or something? Am I being geo-blocked? I'm stuck. There's someone named SusanBanksFan who used to have virtually every Kristin scene from the last few years up on their account. Now, there is the beginning of the Brady/Kristin stuff, but a ton is missing. Help! Could someone be so good to see if they can find any of those aforementioned clips? Maybe I'm just being blocked or something... Gotta have my ED fix during these Kristin-free DAYS...

Call me naive, but I don't think today was Sami's last appearance...no way will they leave even more loose ends with AS.

I'm going to stand up for the wirework in this episode because that stuff's painful, time-consuming, dangerous and expensive. Any superhero show that goes through the trouble of doing it gets my respect. Smallville did it as little as they possibly could and it was massively irritating considering their lead character was, oh gosh gee, Superman. I don't buy for a second that Cat doesn't see who Kara is, considering she looks exactly the same and wears the same colors at work. Animated Kara rocked a brown wig, at least. Cat is supposed to be a reporter, right? I really think this show would be working better if they had Clark and Martha appear in the pilot to at least establish exactly how many years after the movie version of Superman this show is set, and then maybe pop up a few times in the early episodes. I still haven't seen the pilot episode so forgive me if it was covered there, but I just feel like Agent Carter did a better job of transitioning a film property into a television show. They are clearly trying to tie into the Henry Cavill Superman, so it would have worked nicely if he was seen on the show, the same way Bradley Cooper has appeared on his spinoff series to help launch it. Otherwise, we'll be hearing about this invisible cousin and her non-existant relationship with him for the rest of the show.

I think I might have to bail before the holidays. This show is no fun anymore. I said I was gone once Kristin fell out that window, but I held on a little for the big anniversary. What a mistake.

This is my first episode of the show and I am already seeing so so SO many problems...to list a few: -Why is Kara wearing skirts and blue sweaters at work? Does she want them to know she's Supergirl? -The show wants to focus on Kara, but is already creating a lengthy history for Superman to draw from in the writing of future episodes. Doesn't having this entire storyline be essentially about Superman's mistake weaken Kara's involvement in it? Hey look - its that Superman villain with that grudge against Superman! This is a job for.... Not Superman? She should be creating her own villains and relationships and conflicts. -Three episodes in and they are already having Superman appear even though he cannot speak or be seen clearly because it would reveal him to not be Henry Cavill. Sigh. -Reactron?! What an idiotic name. I don't even think this guy is from the comics... -She already has four or five people gathering around her doing all the detective work? What a hero... -Maxwell Lord is now a developer of some kind? Could they make him more clearly a villain? -Kara organizes a party but doesn't show up until the whole thing is already done? That makes no sense. - Calista Flockhart is a better actress then what she's turning in here...so why can't we see that? Oh right, because the dialogue is making this character so incredibly cliche and unlikable... -We are only in episode three and already this show has more vapid inspirational words of encouragement to prop its untested hero than Season Ten of Smallville. Not good. -How is she going around her workspace talking about this stuff?! That just pisses me off to no end... -Toyman just found out Clark's secret offhand because...? How many folks are going to casually learn the Big Secret? -The cutaways of her flying are well done but we are already seeing three of them in one episode. Padding much? I like the guy playing Jimmy Olsen - he was great on Desperate Housewives - and I think the sets are good, but otherwise there is not much here that I can endorse. Which is a real shame. We were long overdue for a series about a young heroine in a cape.

While I can't say this show has a reputation for subtlety, it was pretty clear that Sammy was redirecting her energy towards EJ instead of Will. Sad that the same can pretty much be said of their relationship when he was still alive. Rick, is that really the first time she said that to John? I was surprised she said it at all given how he'd just spoken to her...

Dear John - you are an ASS. You KNOW people aren't always dead in Salemverse, and Sami wasn't asking for your "professional advice". What exactly do you even DO for the NSA? Detect farts? Then go find Abigail. She's left a trail of BS a mile wide. KA is breaking my heart today. Poor DC, too. :( The Bible thing is hilarious because why would EJ - EJ!!!! - use a bible for anything? And now she's....off to Paris, I guess? I'm getting dizzy trying to follow this plotline. Have we even seen this priest before? So to recap, the official Anniversary day is spent watching Hope get rescued by her deserting husband from her loving husband that just tried to murder her, Kayla finding out her deserting husband has brought more terror into their lives, Sami clinging to the hope that her rapist husband is still alive, and Abigail having to fake sex with her murdering fiancé, while pregnant, to try and escape his clutches. I get that they are spreading out all of the big stuff over the course of the month, but I still think the show deserves a little bit more respect on its anniversary day then to be so deeply entrenched in such misogynistic material.

Did Serena or Australian guy whose name I've already forgotten who was super beefy get invited to the party as well? Did Paige? Did Guy Wilson? I want the sacrificial lambs to get a piece of cake too! Kristin! Just reach over with both hands, grip tightly and twist!
