  1. I am intensely bummed that we will never get a commentary track recording for Subzero featuring the director (now deceased) or the voice of Mr. Freeze (also deceased).
  2. Right on! Tell us what you think about the various twists and new relationships as they come...
  3. The trailer makes me need to ask - were the legs/ankles/feet as strange-looking in the manga? They looked very odd here. Maybe after seeing an actual episode I can make more sense of them, but for the moment, they look strange. Nowhere near as straight and elegant as in the original anime... I'm curious to see what Beryl looks like and if they can make her more epic than she was in the original series. I never watched the whole show through, but I remember only her final Big Flower In Space fight with Serena was memorable, and even that was very very short. Will we get to see her do anything on that scale in the first few episodes, ya think?
  4. I have to say, I sat through most of Thursday's episode and didn't hate it. It wasn't great or anything, but it was rather decent by this show's standards. I dislike Pop-Up Victor getting away with calling Kate a whore. Pretty intense for daytime TV. And frankly, he's always so smug it's annoying. He isn't really a believable character anymore, not that many on this show still are of course. I'm bored by the Sami thing. But that's really not shocking to anyone I'm sure. Since I've seen her lose her shit before, it's eye roll worthy for me now to sit here and watch her. Like someone else said, no one's noticing that she's acting like an idiot? Sticky sweet, ridiculously perky, stupidly in love. When the hell has Sami EVER acted like that? Why does someone always have to be a moron when these stories get told? Like EJ wouldn't realize she was being REALLY over the top? Well, I enjoyed the Sami stuff because at least Sami's IN THE KNOW for a change. It reminded me of the "good old days" when Sami actually schemed and we got to be let in on the fun. Yes, she was OTT, but I think it was the director's job to tell her to pull it back a bit. If anything, I found EJ and Abby to be worse in those scenes. Sami's always been pretty OTT. Those two were practically screaming "We're uncomfortable! We sexed each other up!" the entire time. The food fight was lame. I can't remember the last time I saw one of those and enjoyed it on a soap. Nicole is annoying. Eric is annoying. But at least Nicole got in some good shots at Marlena's expense at the start of the episode. Honestly, it was the most I've enjoyed the show since Kristen was on.
  5. I cannot lie - this episode rather blew my mind. I know on soaps it is common for people to barely disguise themselves and still manage to completely fool those closest to them....but in reality? That shouldn't work. And yet it DID. And she pulled in the show to make this happen. I wonder though - did she start pretending to be Tony before or after Catfish began airing? This lady has ISSUES. These two definitely needed to spend less time together and more time getting their lives together.
  6. Me three! I'm amazed by their chemistry, honestly. It was the one thing I wish we could have seen in the Alternate Universe that wasn't there. I mean, come on - perfect opportunity to show Martha and Lionel together, right? It was one of those things the show stumbled into that worked but...well, couldn't work because of what it would mean for the series overall. If they'd gotten together, it would have really tainted people's opinions of Martha, so...no dice. At least we got that one scene of her and him together in season ten, where she shuts him down before the mansion is burned to the ground!
  7. Remain skeptical. Lana leaves, as has already been pointed out, but she lingers over the rest of the show. Seven years of building Lana up to be the one Clark loved the most made it hard to buy his seemingly sudden interest in Lois and the acceleration of their relationship. And again, the way they wrote Lana out made it seem like nothing would ever compare to her. So...yeah. The show never stopped propping her up big time. I would definitely suggest watching season eight, if you can. There's a great murder mystery-type vibe to the whole year and several new terrific characters. The Justice League starts to come together a bit (not that it ever officially does, to re-warn you!) and Clark grows up a tiny bit. The end of the season is a mess and you might quit the show altogether after that, but season eight at least shows progression and is entertaining. Season nine...well I was out by that point, so that's entirely up to you.
  8. Please lord, no threesomes with Lucas. Ever. I never understood that guy's appeal, or the actor's appeal for that matter, but I admire him for sticking with the show...? I guess? Gotta respect a vet? Here's the thing - I actually thought Abby had leading lady potential at one point - the actress is pretty enough and might be able to play other emotions (maybe?). But her random list of potential suitors and now this randomly breaking up a marriage thing with EJ is just...bleah. Leaves a bad taste. I don't expect this departure to be all that happy, which is a shame. You'd think after all these years on the show that Sami might have learned something or gotten her life together just a tiny bit, you know? Leave with some dignity and her head held high?
  9. I said this back on the TWOP forums, but if you enjoy pictures of weddings, this still seems to be on the newsstands and features write-ups of many Another World weddings: http://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/digest-wedding-special-sale-now
  10. Can anyone tell me - in general - what happened after Iris was put in jail for shooting Carl? I know someone else was setting her up as her henchman had made sure her gun had bullets when she fired on him...but who? Was it at all a good storyline? My favorites include the Justine arc - which, thanks to http://www.igs.net/~awhp/awvl.html and random YT clips I've been able to rediscover - and Paulina's weight loss storyline. I just thought it was really interesting and frankly, brave of Judi Evans to take something a lot of viewers were going through and make it a part of the plot when they easily could have ignored or overlooked it. Plus seeing Paulina and Cindy become friends, and Grant hurt them both through that friendship and weight loss journey, was really emotional and interesting. I don't remember too much about the details of that storyline, but again, it was good. I wouldn't call that one a "favorite" as much as a big moment in the series overall. I hated the killer, hated the way something so dark had overtaken the show and frankly it just all felt in such bad taste. Memorable but for all the wrong reasons. I think I preferred the 1999 retcon that Fax Newman had killed before but Anne O'Donnell had gotten him out of jail time, and since he'd become obsessed with her, went after Frankie. Again, it doesn't make much sense with what we saw - Fax was in Bay City for months before he killed her and unless I'm misremembering never took notice of Frankie in particular - but it was a simpler explanation in some ways. The Russian Roulette nature of the way the storyline played out as it aired was massively unsettling. I think some of the worst storylines came near the end of the show's run - Jordan Stark/Lumina was tonally out of place on Another World, and the Gary/Josie/Cameron/Amanda mess was just silly and dumb. As if Josie would really get the hots for Cameron after so many years of steaming up the bathroom with Gary! Come on now! Another doozy was Amanda pretending to be Carl's mistress...though honestly I don't remember too much about how that played out. Was it at least semi-interesting as it aired?
  11. Going to begin my tenure here at P.TV by picking up the subject that kept me going to TWOP for years and years...Smallville! Specifically Chloe. I was never one who believed that she'd turn out to be Lois Lane...I was more rooting for the producers not to allow their hands to be tied by the comics and instead follow-through on what they already had going - the makings of a big Chloe/Clark relationship. Shame they never went there even for a brief period. It might have been nice for Chloe and Clark to date and then mutually part.
