Glad I found this thread because I need to vent for a second... I love Kristin DiMerra. I love ED. I love that they've been brought back to the show after so many years to cause trouble and be crazy and pull at our heartstrings and scheme. But I am MASSIVELY BITTER about how lazy writing has reduced her to a really one-dimensional villainess who just uses sex to hurt people. And here's a question - why did the writers need to have Kristin almost sleep with Dan? What kind of sense did THAT make? 1) Kristin tried to kill Dan when she returned to town. How or why that would make him attracted to her, I just can't figure... 2) Kristin's vendetta against John/Marlena has nothing to do with Dan, and Kristin never said she was going to start going after all of Brady's friends in order to hurt him so...again I ask: WHY? 3) If the point of this almost-affair was to drive one more dramatic wedge between Kristin and Brady before she stole his future kid and left town, it still doesn't make any sense. *THIS IS WHAT REALLY BUGS ME* Brady had told Kristin he never wanted to see her again several times already, and John was already alive and well once more. Having them "break up" again was motivated by NOTHING and just a set-up for the almost sex with Dan, which was an unneeded set-up to have Brady end things with Kristin... ...they didn't even HAVE a thing at that point! And - as several of you have already pointed out - it's beyond disgusting that Brady would have even thought about getting back with her after what she did to Eric. So his "by sleeping with Dan you destroyed the one chance that we had to reunite!" line was especially damaging to his character. How can I possibly feel sorry for Bumb Brady if he's WILLING TO FORGIVE THE WOMAN WHO RAPED HIS BROTHER...FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER. It's not like the writers wrote some tender storyarc where Kristin returned to town with her tail between her legs and tried desperately to save John to make amends and we could see Brady start to forgive her. THAT would have made some amount of sense. You can honestly ignore the sex with Dan plot-point and the story remains unchanged. Brady still hates Kristin even after John is saved, Kristin hears Theresa is preggers and loses it, Theresa is drugged and the baby is implanted in Kristin. The sex with Dan changes NONE of that and doesn't improve it in the least. I just cannot understand the logic behind having the Dan/Kristin thing happen. They didn't need it. Brady had already nearly assaulted Kristin several times. Why not just spend a few more days fleshing out her plan to steal the baby and actually show it happened on-screen?? What we saw of the baby-napping was amazingly brief and rushed. That's classic soap crazy stuff. They could have showed and EXPLAINED the procedure and maybe have Theresa semi-wake up from it at one point. Showed Kristin worrying that whatever it is that is permitting her to actually carry the kid to term might not work (it's not like they explained that!) I just can't deal with her needlessly rolling around with Dan. It made zero sense. Anyone else in my boat?

Current Plots Discussion: Actually Today's Episode

I like seeing a male villain since Stefano is sadly so absent and inert lately, but Clyde being a molestor into incest really is too much. He could have been interesting with Kate, but ahhh well. bantering, I am equally perplexed at Brady suspecting Theresa after being so dense for so long with Kristin. But then I am even MORE perplexed at how now Kristin is physically capable of carrying a baby to term. Really - can anyone make sense of that for me? Is ED gone for good now too? Kristin, Sami, EJ and Jawn all gone...and none of them had good writing on the way out either.... -

queenie, remember that Kristin wasn't the only person involved in over the top storylines back in the day...that was the norm! And as a Kristin fan, I'm not a fan of her getting a child this way....especially with a "take what is rightfully mine!" line. I was rooting for her to redeem herself a bit and recognize that Bady ain't quite so perfect. Here is a question - if Kristin miscarried John Junior in Paris and has since been declared incapable of having kids...wouldn't that likely mean she can't carry a fertilized egg to term? The issue was never that she had no eggs...just that she couldn't manage the gestation period, right? I can't quite figure iut how this is the best way to have Brafy's child, or even A child in the first place... -
Sunnyheart, I am laughing like a moron because you and I are of one mind regarding John/Marlena....a break from what?!?! Pretending to be glad they're both still alive?? It is INSANE at this point that the show is still making John out to be a douchebag while thinking we will cheer for his reconcilliation with Marlena.

Was Eve always a singer? This feels like a Chloe story transposed onto someone else... I don't get why everyone carps about Marlena's face. DH had stuff done, sure, but she looks good. Hate the writing...have sympathy for the actor who underwent surgery to be able to continue to play the character that was undone by lazy writing. -

Ugh...is Kristin going to have Theresa beaten to the point of miscarrying now?? How fun. These writers really know how to take a compelling character and make them utterly gross.... Poor ED. Between this and the Eric Rape plot there will be no redeeming Kristin now... -

When is Kristin's last day? I need off this show and I am going with her. Amazing how Marlena's biggest plotline these last few months was the arm in a sling....that was never even explained on-camera. I am SO FED UP of people showing pictures and playing recordings. -

I used to think Bold and the Beautiful treated its female characters badly, but what makes Days worse is that it could treat the gals well and not be wildly out-of-synch with the tone. The Hope / Ciara relationship, for example, could really be beautiful, or multifaceted, if the writers tried. But making every woman on the show into a narcissist or a bed-hopping wacko leaves me little hope Ciara will become more interesting with time. I am at the limit with Kristin and Brady. Her sleeping with Dan is just BEYOND the limit. First she attempts to kill him, now this? He might be even dumber than Brady and John, given what he knows going into her bed -

Remember when the show was setting things up to look like EJ's death would be a murder mystery in which Kate, Sami, Kristin, Stefano, Chad and Hick would all be probable suspects? ....that might have been fun. Do they not want there to be any fun on this show???? -

Trust us, Bold and Beautiful is horrendous.... Now let me get this straight - Sami leaves next week...and we have yet to see a funeral or memorial with Susan and Stefano glaring at each other, or Marlena spending quality time with Sami, or Sami learning the truth about how sleazy EJ died, or anything!?! -
Stefano is great when they write him great. I do think they need to be wise about how they use the actor now that he is older, but Ido not want him gone.

No joke - I laughed through today's episode. Kristin had no emotional reason to start trashing her room - when did she and EJ become close siblings and have good times? I just couldn't with Sami's flashbacks. I have a twenty in my hand for the person who edits into those scenes flashbacks to the rape and head shooting scenes and uploads it to YT. -

AS is doing okay at these scenes....but it's interesting watching a plot like this unfold when you just aren't invested in the character. Normally, I would be bawling or teary-eyed. Zippo. "Who the hell could have done this?" Um anyone in Salem? How did Stefano find out....? And is this the first actual long scene between the kids? How manipulative is that? -
Melrose Place (1992) - General Discussion
DisneyBoy replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Melrose Place (1992)
Ha! That sounds fun. I only discovered the show about three summers ago and watched until Kimberly and Sydney died in season five and things got depressing and lame. I knew nothing about the twists - except Kim's first wig reveal - so it was a lot of fun never knowing where things would go next. I personally was shocked at Kim seeing her mother's rapist in every mirror - talk about creepy and disturbing! -
The two Caesars really messed with my head. Did they alternate in the role, or did the larger one just replace the Asian one at one point? And again - why did Kathy Bates become Mia? Did we ever get closure on Brian and Lane's Korean replacement's relationship?

boes, you outdid yerself there! Even after that little recap, I still don't get how John shifted blame from Brady to himself - he smacked himself in the back of his head??- or how not blaming Theresa ensures Brady won't boink Kristin again.... We know those two actresses could butt heads well, but John was in a coma all this time and couldn't possibly view young T as a good sparring partner for K to keep her away from Brady. Color me confused. -
Did Bo first leave the show to travel with Caroline because she had dimentia? And if so, is she now "cured"?
-
Oops - I forgot to mention the pot brownie scene. I never actually saw it, but it sounded fun....

My hope is that should EJ bite it, we get two eulogies at the funeral. One from Susan, slobbering over her sweet, sweet boy...and one from Kate, telling it like it is hardcore. That would be FUN! -
I forgot about Tobin. He was definitely gay. I disliked his scenes, though, which all revolved around trying outdo Michel as Lor's gay BFF.

Batman: The Animated Series - General Discussion
DisneyBoy replied to GHScorpiosRule's topic in Batman: The Animated Series
Hey y'all - new Batman: The Animated Series soundtrack drops tomorrow from LaLaLand Records. Anyone else into these? -
I wonder if they'll ever release a "Complete Series" set, with proper commentaries and bonus features for Season Two Part Two like they had for the earlier episodes. They would obviously include Goliath Chronicles in there, but I doubt I'd watch those through. I also wish there was an affordable way to read through the full Slave Labor Graphics continuation of the series. I've been the Trade Paperbacks on Ebay and they are not cheap. Probably because the last issues never made it to the newsstands.
-
Definitely a great ending to the series (at least, that's how I view it, in light of the lack of a cohesive continuation). Did you read the Slave Labor Graphics continuation of the series, as written by Greg? The sporadic release date and questionable art in places turned me off, but I'd be curious as to how it continues things. I heard that apparently Elisa dates Morgan the cop briefly, which makes no sense to me at all.... Season Two was really daring. I loved the Avalon stuff and flashbacks and the Archmage (David Warner!!), but the World Tour was a bit exhausting back in the day. I remember thinking I didn't appreciate having so much dry cultural history inserted into the series, but now that I'm older, I appreciate the lengths they went to to ensure the show had content. Angela was a great addition to the cast too. And the Gathering was great stuff. Never saw the big reveals there coming, not by a long shot...
