  1. I actually was one fan who enjoyed BoB, so some people did.

I like this book a lot. I've read it several times and I sort of enjoy the way it deals with the end of days and the way it handles religion. I am a christian and I am not in any way offended by it's depiction of angels and the plans of god and so on. It was just the right mix of humor and satire. And Adam is the best antichrist ever written.

The way the story just ended was jarring. I'm not sure if I really liked it or not. I think I might be simply ambivalent about it, which I guess is better than throwing it against a wall (done that twice), so it beats some books I could name. I don't get why it's such a classic, that's for sure.
  4. the three Buffy references I picked up were Tara, Daniel Osborn and Sunnydale High. I didn't pick up the Tara part until someone pointed it out to me after the episode was over though. After Daniel Osborne was the third victim I thought it was coincidental, then the Sunnydale High thing clinched it for me. I also giggled at Garcia talking about Sam doing a doll impression and raising his arms like a Cyberman for some reason. Doctor Who!!!!
  5. There hasn't been a day where I didn't like Liz, thought I've hated a lot of the shit she's done. I even like her pairing that I couldn't like at least some. I understood Niz, even if I hated a lot of it, which is more than most people lol.
  6. I choose to believe that the picture of Liz/Lucky is up in Aiden's bedroom, so he could see what his daddy looks like. And the 4 musketeer pic is next to Liz's bed.
  7. All a webisode needs is a temporarily empty set, a tossed together script, a couple cast members and a handcam. I think 500 bucks for a 10 minute spot would be enough.
  8. Right, but that was just an example. I've seen parts of the Asian Quarter, Lucy's debut, the Alan/Monica/Rick triangle and stuff. Heather and the LSD, OG edition pops to mind as well.
  9. So, I've thought about it and I realized that nobdy can PROVE that Kiki and Morgan have broken the law. there is hearsay that they knew about the murder, but that's it. Michael "knew" that Ava really killed AJ until last week, so that's about as much weight as that has, especially with a good lawyer. And I can't imagine Alexis refusing to represent Morgan, her daughter's brother, or Julian's niece Kiki. So yeah, I see Morgan ending up with taht baby either way lol
  10. UO to end all UOs. I have watched stories from the "golden age" of GH and I find them boring, silly or both. I mean, how is the Ice Princess nonsense any less laughable than FonDuke? or toxic balls? I also don't see what was so great about any of the couples. Let me just say that my first introduction to Frisco during Maxie's heart storyline, and then when Georgie was born did not leave a good taste in my mouth.
  11. I've watched the show off and on since the mid 90's, when I was, a young teen, and I still like it.
  12. As soon as one of the two cells clears out.
  13. Yeah, growing up poor in a trailer after her dad left her is not the Cleavers, but it's not a brothel either. Get over it.
  14. Ha, Max would probably bring up profits and get everything in order in a day. Sonny isn't exactly a hard act to follow, even Nathan could probably outdo him.
  15. Well, all of these people should be in jail. Morgan and Kiki as well as Franco and Carly for their complicity in hiding Sonny's crime. That leaves one of the other siblings on the hook for taking the baby, since Ava would be in jail for this and for Connie. So, Dante, Michael or Julian would be the ones looked to, realistically. No DCF agency would add a child to that loft with Dante, Lulu and Rocco. Michael would have a real chance of getting her, temporarily, which I find awesome. And they could get Judge asshat Walters, who would refuse to return her to her parents after it all washes out, because he doesn't like Morgan's hair and Ava is too blonde to care for a child.
  16. While this is true, and environmentally better, sometimes you use what's there. If I have, for whatever reason, a stack of styrofoam dishes in the cabinet, that's the first choice for a kid. Can't break it, don't have to wash it, gets rid of the bowl from my stuff.
  17. Yeah, I don't give real dishes to 5 year olds if there is an alternative. That's not lazy, that's just good sense.
  18. The ideal is that a husband had respect for his wife's opinion and always takes what she says into account, deeply, when any decision needs to be made. Then the husband prays on it and takes all things, including his wife's words and comes to a decision that best suits the needs and values of his family. In practice it comes down to the wife doing what she can to influence, but in the end the husband's word is law. Not to say that there is no disagreement, but that she bends her will to him. I, as a happily married Southern Baptist lady, have never been able to work with this idea in my life, because I am way to bossy and my husband isn't into the whole "Head of the family" thing anyway. Now, this can work, if the couple work at it and they are on the same wavelength about things, but it can also become a misogynistic mess. It's amatter of taking it seriously versus using it as an excuse to be domineering.
  19. I wisn someone widow tell Maggie that Mer is being 50 times nicer to her tan she was to Lexi for like a year. So freaking entitled. And sorry girl, Ellis was not worth knowing.
  20. AJ and Carly would have been great...alas. My only consolation for years has been that I can just crib Lucas/Sami scenes in my mind and that is basically what AJ/carly would have been like.
  21. As a comparison, my husband and I decided one night, in the car, while chatting that "we're getting married, see, done". Then, after that, he did the whole thing with the ring at a nice dinner with my parents. We were already engaged to our own satisfaction, but the traditions had to be respected. I see no reason why Ben and Jessa wouldn't have done something similar, so the actual ring part was just the tradition being upheld.
  22. Hee, but that is bases on their own actions (or lack of action), which is still better than judging and hating a child based on the actions or beliefs of their biological parent. That kind of thinking is pretty sick. Can't adopt a child because you don't know what kind of sin in ingrained in them based on biology. Doesn't matter how they are raised "blood shows".
  23. Funnily it never changed my opinion of Carly, just soured me on Tony. And AJ always got my sympathy throughout. Oddly, I always liked SJB's Carly for what she was, a nasty little shit stirrer. There is a place for that on any soap. I saw Carly like I have mostly seen Sami on DAYS over the years, and I LIKED that. It wasn't until she hooked up with Sonny that shit went off the rails for her character. I always felt that they missed a huge oppertunity to do Carly and AJ scheming together, working together, and at least being parents together. That dynamic would have driven story for years. Instead we got S&C and I wanted them both to die. Still do.
  24. I never really saw Tony's decision to go for full custody as very justified. It wasn't just Carly he was screwing with there. He was going for custody of Lucas too, as mentioned above, and was ratcheting up his general douchery to about a 15 at that time. Carly had no warning. They were still together, living together. They literally had an argument and at the end of it he was telling her he was going to take the baby. And this was after AJ had already threatened the same thing. I would have probably done the same thing she did at that moment, which was reach for the thing that would hurt him the most and tell him the kid ain't his. She couldn't just blab about AJ, so she grabbed for the only person she trusted, Jason. In the grand scheme of things this has ruined the show on an epic level, but at the time, I laughed my ass off and thought it was awesome. I hated Tony at that moment, for like the first time ever. Up until then I had been really sympathetic to all the crap that he'd gone through and sort of saw how he fell for Carly's crap, but suddenly he was being a dick and I stopped caring about him for a really long time.
