That was intense! I could just feel the heaviness in the room and I thought the performances really captured the emotions in a nuanced way that made them feel like an actual couple. The last scenes were brutal. I think each was waiting for the other to come out and say they wanted the baby but wanting to make the other one being supported by what they thought they wanted. Kind of a f-Ed up “Gift of the Magi” situation. I really thought she was going to vomit and that would reopen the decision. I guess, as a married woman, it’s hard to imagine discussing whether to proceed with a pregnancy unless there were insurmountable issues like I would have before I had settled down. The open marriage discussion and the kiss between the two wives while the two husbands continued their discusión seemed like a lot to cover in the first episode. My friends and I must be pretty boring! I enjoyed the grad student interviewing them and how they played off each other, deferred to the other, trying to balance the interview and her discomfort in being left alone with the student felt very authentic. I’m really interested in how he came from being an Orthodox Jew all through college to being what seems like pretty secular in his views and but that may be a entirely different show. I haven’t seen the original but I’m definitely intrigued, though I don’t want to spoil this show by seeing it just now in case the outcome is fairly similar. I’ll have to check out The Most Violent Year now.

When Cal was interviewing them as a couple, I think she said she dates someone several months before kissing, so if she’s on the same timeline here maybe by the end of the show! She does seem to be sweet on him which makes her more likable to me to see her defenses down with a genuine smile.

My husband walked by when Cal asked Brett and Ryan if they wanted to have sex, and said, “whoa is he propositioning them”? I envy those who have someone at home to watch this with!

Is Pieper the one whose mother was thirteen when she was born? I don’t remember but I remember feeling sad when it was revealed on the show.

Imagine being super proud of being called a Hurricane, even going so far as to have categories based how severe your temper is getting? Can you imagine if Zach was the “hurricane” in this situation and Michaela the brunt of it? That wouldn’t fly for a minute and it would be considered abusive behavior. Would they have picked a man who self identified as a hurricane as a possible match? I hope that even the experts and production wouldn’t green light that. What a liability. Zach has every cause to be concerned as a partner and the possible father of any children they might have if they stayed together which I suspect will not be the case.

I was wondering too! Was it because she felt bad for Jessenia and/or Natasha and/or Tammy or seeing others pairing off with someone new made her feel vulnerable with Riley? Probably the latter, she has major insecurities. I could live without seeing her suck whipped cream off Riley’s toe next week though because that might make me cry. That is just NASTY!

I’m just now watching this since I only caught the first thirty minutes last night so just a few random comments. The only newcomer I remember was Chelsea out of the three (four?) girls. I can’t believe she’s so hurt that someone wouldn’t automatically fall in love with her because she went to the boom boom room. You can’t have it both ways. That party sucks. I kid you not, but hubs and I were driving through Arkansas to visit his parents and stopped by a CVS and I saw an opened empty pregnancy test wrapper shoved in with some magazines and had to laugh that someone just used the bathroom to do a pregnancy test that had just stolen! (At least I’m assuming that’s what happened)
