  1. When I saw that Margeaux tried to take Carl away from Jack, I knew miscarriage was going to be the karmic payback. I highly suspect she will get hit, survive and lose the baby. I can only hope she decides to leave town. The way the storylines are wrapping up, I'm thinking producers got the word that this is the end for Revenge.
  2. Jimmy/Saul is still very conflicted. He could have gotten what he wanted had he just taken on the Kettlemans as clients. Plead not guilty, lose the case, let the guy go up the river for 30 years. Kim would be so low at HHM she might take up his offer at the new office. Of course, Betsy might murder him in the courtroom. It looks like there'll be almost as much Mike as Saul, which is a good thing. Mike as a character can't carry a series because he doesn't do dumb things, but he's a plus for any show. I knew Mike sprayed Luminol on the money when the toy ended up in the house. I still don't understand the 25th hour reference, and I looked up the movie.
  3. It's back and it's not much different. It looks like The Christine Rose, Au Grabber, The Clark, Eroica, Reaper and whatever Vernon is using are in this season. One of the Kelly boys plans to buy the Reaper out from under his crooked father, who is only renting it from the current owner. Vernon has another daughter who will be dredging this season. Zeke is dredging with his gf from the bus cafeteria (which seems to be gone) with no sign of his asshat partner from the winter season.
  4. It's past time to wrap this show up. 3 out of 4 Graysons are out of the picture (apparently Grampa Grayson too, who managed to get Charlotte back on drugs) and Emily lost everything but her father. If the show continues, they need a semi-clean break. Keep the Ellis family and Nolan, possibly Jack and send the rest to NYC.
  5. Maybe the producers are just making it so everyone is sick of S1 couples just in time for MAFS Season 2. I think the gravy train is just about over for them.
  6. I remember that Vince Gilligan got complaints about "Fly" and I hadn't actually seen it all yet. There's a lot of symbolism, but there's also some character development in there. When Jesse was talking about his aunt, I started to understand how he could be so loyal to Walt. Jesse is kind of a caretaker at heart, but he's also easily led astray. Jane was straight up bad for him even though she ended up getting the worse end of the deal. Then Walt kept talking about the "perfect moment" where he could have dropped dead with a moderate pile of cash and his family would be financially secure. There are no perfect moments on this show, however. For every Hail Mary plan of Walt's that works flawlessly, there are at least 2 that fail miserably, just not enough to end him. Then there's Mike. I'm glad he's on Better Call Saul. While Gus thought he could handle Walt, Mike didn't put up with his shit. Still, Walt always seemed to get the upper hand. At the end of the season, Walt is in remission, $2 million richer and in mortal danger of being murdered by a drug cartel.
  7. Ideally, you keep them for 20 years when you need a jump start to get romantic with the wife.
  8. Just set the DVR for the late night showing. From the bits I could see in the commercials, the new people look a little more normal. They may also be getting more of the families involved. Then again, in season 1, everyone but Cortney and Jason had family at the wedding. It's funny, including MAFS and the shows with the tiny houses, I watch more FYI than A&E, especially since they stopped making the NYC version of Storage Wars.
  9. I just wonder how much sex Doug will get out of that discount CarMax car he bought for Jamie. Will Jason and Cortney get advertiser products as well?
  10. I just saw a certain Oscar nominated film that ends with the same sort of questions. Could he really do that? Was it all a fantasy? In the case of Breaking Bad, I try to take the events at face value because the totality of them is so unlikely. Walter White was more lucky than smart and he should have realistically been killed in his first or second drug deal. The show takes place in an enhanced or hyper realty and asking "could Walt really walk through the desert with no food or water as sick as he is" would make the whole story fall apart.
  11. I got back to binge watching Breaking Bad after a little hiatus. I saw most of season 2 over the last couple of weeks. I've been fast tracking it because of Better Call Saul. Saul kind of cut out Jesse from the partnership by creating a dealer. By the end of the season, Jesse has so much money he wouldn't have to do much else for a long time. By the time he got the money, he was in no position to keep it. Walt is ultimately responsible for everything in BB. Jane's father caused the plane crash by not handling his job. He also was the one who told Walt not to give up on family at the bar, which prompted him to see Jesse and start the events that killed Jane. I happen to think Jane new Jesse was a drug dealer and she let him rent that apartment because she wanted to use again. Jesse seems to be an advertisement for the criminal life, but not a good role model. He was the gateway for Walt's empire and Jane's relapse and they both ended up being better at it than he was. Another parallel with Jane and Jesse. His parents let him live in a house they owned (the aunt) as long as he wasn't doing anything that could cause them to lose it. I can't say with any credibility what it's like to work with de Lancie, but I read about how well he got along with Kate Mulgrew back on Voyager. He might have been a little method in those few episodes, keeping a distance from Ritter. As she said, it worked for the performance.
  12. Now I'm convinced that Cortney's family does not want to be on TV at all. Even when she went home by herself, all they showed was a car ride there and a car ride back. No pictures of the family or the homestead. They also kind of implied that Jason met the family at some point. I kind of get that because I can't imagine what would get me to sign a release to put me on a TV show, even if it is on a digital tier channel.
  13. It's kind of boring because I watch these shows from the Fall of 2014 and it's Winter of 2015 now and they're still together. Obviously, their issues weren't that bad. I think FYI should keep taping, but not air a new season until they break up, then we can watch how it happened after the fact.
  14. I really hope there's some editing shenanigans going on, because it looks like those guys are falling apart.
  15. Accidentally or on purpose?
  16. I want to see Vaughn about as much as I want to see Monet. That is, not much.
  17. One thing that strikes me about Cortney is that none of her family is involved. I figure either her family doesn't want to be on TV, or is private, or just thinks the show is stupid in general. Either that or she has a worse relationship than she lets on. I understands Jason's mom. When you're really sick like that, you don't want to see people. Has Jason met Cortney's family yet, or is that an upcoming episode?
  18. I actually think Jamie has some likeable qualities, but it's hard to see them because she's "on" all the time.
  19. Frasier would have been a drastically different show if it were Frasier and Lilith (and Frederick) with Martin. This was a show about a bachelor, sort of like Dream On (which had Wendie Malick as a supporting character), where you could have a lot of farce. With Lilith, it would have been a family sitcom, albeit an intellectual version of the Munsters kind of sitcom. I think Charlotte was as good as any other random woman who ended up dating Frasier. I think the whole thing with Claire was that she had to be perfect and when Belize wasn't perfect, Frasier realized it would never be perfect with any woman. By the way, Duke's daughter was Teri Hatcher. I think Martin started getting girlfriends when Frasier started having (slightly) longer relationships to add some variety. It seemed kind of weird that Martin was always looking to get married. In some ways, I think Frasier would have been better with Martin and Hester. Niles had an interesting story arc. After reading about some of the origins of the show, I saw that DHP was in a show called "The Powers That Be" where he played a Congressman dominated by his wife and in love with the housekeeper. That seems kind of familiar. Even though it couldn't last, I liked the episodes with Kit from the coffee shop, who wore Niles out. As far as Mel, it seemed like Niles was not seeing who she really was. Frasier saw it first because she was usurping his position as the lead brother. Still, Mel was kind of manipulative but she definitely got worse when they needed to fast track the Daphne storyline. I thought Daphne was good for Niles. Whenever the show had those games about personal experiences, he came up empty. I think Niles gravitated to women who just reinforced a kind of empty lifestyle.
  20. I just saw The Show Must Go Off last night. This is where Frasier puts on a play by a Shakespearean actor from his youth. He and Niles realize he's always been terrible from an old tape. Frasier: He has no instincts. Just stinks. For some reason, that cracks me up.
  21. History repeats itself. Clara is the new Peri. When Six came along, he treated Peri bad in the sense that he tried to kill her when he was post regeneration. By their second season, the relationship was better, but not on screen much. That was "Trial of a Time Lord" which I consider a better one-season arc than any of the ones I've seen on NuWho.
  22. It's sort of like laughing at a person from the 19th century because he can't operate an iPhone. The set up exists solely to make someone's wild guess correct in retrospect. I believe the Simpsons called it pulling a Homer.
  23. And next week Doug can't get any. Does Jamie want a kid now so she can avoid sex with Doug as much as possible?
  24. Emily also ruined a perfectly good table.
  25. It all falls under self-defense, more or less.
