If someone offers you cake, it's impolite not to take it.

Chuck can have his reasons for blocking Jimmy and still be an asshole. I think even giving Jimmy a job in the mailroom was kind of an asshole move. Considering his salary, Jimmy could never afford a "real" law school on his own dime. Kim certainly couldn't. Chuck is extremely delusional, but Jimmy is as well. He must have had some idea that Chuck would piss all over his plans to become a lawyer, since he spent years hiding his studies. Saul has a lot of hustle in him. Chuck probably figured Jimmy getting a law degree was a hustle and maybe it was. What's really sad is that Jimmy was trying to emulate his brother and Chuck seemed to take it as Jimmy defiling something he believed in. When it comes down to it, Chuck wronged Jimmy entirely. Jimmy did nothing wrong. It's irrelevant if Chuck could justify his actions because he used all his power to make sure he never had anything to explain to Jimmy.

Mike's badass self was on display for the fans of BB and probably BCS watchers who might not understand why Mike is awesome. I think Howard was starting to lose faith in Chuck with the class action. I'm sure he had no problem when Chuck told him Jimmy wasn't HHM material after graduating from correspondence law school. However, no one in their right mind wouldn't offer a partnership to a guy who made $20 million in rain. I think Howard snapped at Kim because he had absolutely no way to explain the decision as him without looking like an asshole. Of course, he put her in a tough legal position because she couldn't tell Jimmy the truth. Also, as a technical matter, is Chuck such a big dick that he couldn't eat himself as a dick?

The funny part is that XP wasn't really available in early 2001. Chuck ends up being responsible for a lot of the horrible shit that happened to Jimmy. It now looks like Hamlin went into the copy room on Chuck's request. I'm sure Jimmy continued to ask Chuck to talk to Hamlin. Eventually, the stress made him invent a condition that made him unable to participate in work anymore. His illness made it so Chuck could stop having Jimmy ask him for legal career help. I have to wonder if Hamlin tried to talk to Chuck, since it would have been apparent to him that Chuck got sick because he wouldn't let Jimmy work at HHM. Obviously, Charles McGill is a big box of crazy. I started thinking that the BB watchers among us probably fell into the trap of assuming Hamlin had some undefined deep-seated resentment toward Jimmy, kind of like the way Walter White seemed to feel about Grey Matters. It turned out in this case that Chuck resented Jimmy for a very obvious reason. He had to help Jimmy get a job at the firm and then he turned around and tried to ape Chuck's career path.

I forgot about the confrontation between Stevie and David. When he got out that green retractable knife, I thought for a second there might be a Breaking Bad moment coming.

If we end up with a who shot JR deal, they should go full Dallas and make the last 2 seasons a dream. Maybe Emily could be in a coma and Louise is her nurse. That's more like Alias, though.

Things are definitely messy, I'm not sure if that means good. Of all the ridiculous things in Revenge, for some reason Victoria strolling into the police locker room was the most groan worthy tonight. I just laughed out loud when I saw Louise standing behind the doorway. Nolan's going to regret not just putting a baby in her. Speaking of babies, this show really hates them. Charlotte lost her baby (although I used to suspect otherwise) and Margaux lost her baby when they ran out of plot line. Luckily, Carl is probably old enough to be safe. Emily is Amanda. Does that mean Mason can finally write that damn book now?

Cast in Other Roles: Parallel and Alternative Universe Sightings

I remember hearing that when the duo was big. Sadly, I still have "I'm too sexy" stuck in my head now. -
The Whoverse has had an interesting time with actor retention. I guess it's better now than in the old days. Colin Baker was sacked unceremoniously. Then again, that was a time when the BBC was actively trying to kill the show. I'm a little annoyed that JLC kind of ruined last season by forcing that season-long exit story line instead of spending more time on The Doctor. In the old days, they would write one line about her getting married off or being sick of traveling.

Maybe David and Carl were driving the cab that hit Margaux.

There were all kinds of plotlines flying around tonight. Deadshot's version of American Sniper. Crooked Senator killing for career advancement. I think that was the plot of at least 2 Schwarzenegger films. Disco Iron Man Oh, and the imposter Arrow that was a throwback to Merlyn pretending to be Oliver.

S02.E00: Matchmaking Special / S02.E01: Wedding Preparations

I assume that's in the extra segment of the FYI version of the show. -
So the Vodka thing reminded me of Jaclyn saying she was a rep for a well-known brand of Vodka I'd never heard of. And I assume by rep she means she's a shot girl.

I watched the 60 minute version on A&E which moved at something greater than a snail's pace.

This isn't Mr. Chips turning into Scarface. For one thing, I thought Walter White was a dick pretty much from episode 1. It's pretty obvious through Breaking Bad that Walter is an SOB who can't keep a job with any demands and managed to be the luckiest incompetent drug dealer ever. Jimmy really is the opposite. He's not a genius, but he's clever and a hard worker. He deserves a chance and can't get it. The only bad part about BCS is that we know he ends up working out of a strip mall for some pretty shady characters. Then again, maybe that's what Jimmy really loved.

S02.E00: Matchmaking Special / S02.E01: Wedding Preparations

Doesn't he have other siblings as well? I don't know if the niece is as isolated as the show implies. -
In Season 1, there was that picture that Lydia kept trying to use against Emily. So Amanda was sloppy for a while. That would be really crazy to try padding yourself up enough to not miscarry while being hit by a Taxi. If the driver isn't a stooge, my guess is that he'd tell the cops "she came out of nowhere" because confirming the "Emily pushed Margaux" story would make the driver look less guilty than "she was standing in the street and I plowed into her."

For at least the last 2 seasons, it seems like they are trying to write a way out of the show. Half of the cast already has. They really need a firm end date to write a coherent story line and not spin their wheels trying to keep the show going indefinitely.

It's too bad the baby wasn't older. I could have gone with Margaux dying and the baby surviving. I'm pretty sure her crazy henchman was behind the taxi accident. One thing I hate about soaps like this is when they try to assign moral culpability. Margaux is so obsessed with "clearing Daniel's name." How about that time he tried to KILL Emily at their freaking wedding reception and instead left her barren. That's worse than what he's accused of. Actually, if you played "It's a Wonderful Life" with Emily / Amanda never coming to town, I wonder how many fewer people would be dead or in jail now. Jack's brother comes to mind as a survivor. I'm still wondering where Nolan is on the gay scale at the moment. Louise is about as close to a real-life Jessica Rabbit as you're going to get, but she may not be his (female) type. Right now, it seems like he's only scouting out guys. I expect Louise to get (crazy) jealous because she's extremely needy. ETA: Jack's mom seems like a crappy lawyer. Any police department that tried "we lost the sample" on a suspect would pretty much guarantee that case getting thrown out.

I wonder if it was more of a case of trying to have a Black couple on the show to the point where they made a bad pick. This season, they couldn't even avoid getting two White guys with the same first name.

That's an interesting theory, because it would support that something like the old book "The Rules" is an effective guide for women to get a man. -

It looks like the FYI version of MAFS is 10-15 minutes longer. I will be watching the A&E version from now on. Seriously, this show is famous for filler, but the last half hour of the wedding prep was freakin' endless. Whatever "extras" are in the long version, I don't need them. -
I wouldn't necessarily put a lot of stock on who is or isn't following on Twitter. For example, Davina's twitter is only a few days old. It took me a few weeks to get the hang of it.

I remember Zeke talking about GPS because someone accused him of claim jumping. They have to have GPS to prove where they're dredging. I feel kind of bad for the one Kelly kid who got ratted out by the boat owner. Anyone who watched last year knows Brad is lying about totals, manipulating the cut and diving for 15 minutes to increase his share. He's the new Scott Meisterheim. For entertainment value, I want to see more Vernon. Emily has lost all the drama from her relatively competent operation.
