  1. I can't really condone the number of Americans Simcoe is murdering, but it's kind of cool seeing him walk Terminator-style through the Rebel camp to find Hewlett. Oh, and Hewitt is a total badass. Cutting off his own gangrene then stabbing Simcoe. Hope he makes it back to Setauket. *I can't believe "Setauket" is in spell check.
  2. If you have reasonably good old photographs, there are symmetry and proportion ratios that are considered attractive across multiple societies around the world. That and the fact that men tended to marry younger women, so their genetic material was of higher quality.
  3. Anna Strong didn't have a number, she could have been 355 for all we know.
  4. So, did they decided not to end with Victoria's hand coming out of the grave?
  5. Prison escapes are generally pretty hokey. Air vents are not human sized at the point where they connect to the ceiling. Plus, where would they lead? Most HVAC has an air exchanger. No duct, just fans and air channels. Maybe it was a nod to the fact that Team Revenge hadn't lost their brains entirely.
  6. For me, the gold standard of bad finales is the one from Quantum Leap. In that regard, Revenge was better.
  7. More like her father raped her. Props on the use of "scallywag." What I like about the ending is that Amanda went through about 99% of this for nothing. The only necessary part was clearing her father's name. She got her father back then lost him to her revenge plot, even if was only the last few weeks. If they put it that way in the episode, it might have made more sense.
  8. So now that the show has ended and Amanda / Emily has supposedly never killed anyone, I have a question. How many people has she killed? In this case, I would include people who died in self-defense or because of her actions, but not her overall revenge, because that would be everyone.
  9. So, does that make Nolan the Kingmaker? I didn't really want everyone to die, so the ending was fine for me. It would make more sense that Charlotte was on good terms with Amanda because she gave her Victoria's heart. So Margaux and Louise are the good guys now?

    All Episodes Talk

My take is that it got too tied up in these ridiculous farces. If Niles had actually asked Daphne out on the multiple occasions he considered it, they might have been able to write a more natural progression. Plot contrivances kept them apart, some good, some bad. Then there was Jane Leeves' pregnancy, which would have been great if they hadn't delayed getting together so long. They might have been able to throw in a short break up. Don't even get me started on Daphne's mum, who dragged down a dozen episodes for me. I never quite understood Mel, except that maybe they wanted a Maris who wasn't subject to being unseen by the viewers.
  11. .. and then they CGI a big explosion in post and everyone dies. The way the show's been going, I wouldn't be surprised.
  12. It may be cruel, but necessary. Adam can't be killed (death weapon doesn't work) and he can't be imprisoned because he disappears after death. The embolism thing was an interesting idea, but there was a better chance of it killing Adam. Plus, the needle mark would be something a doctor could find. I think "The Last Death of Henry Morgan" refers to the fact that he might have to change his identity to keep from being found out. Either that or he stops being a coroner and it's the "last death" Henry Morgan investigates.
  13. Wow. I was talking about Now and Again with someone in regard to Forever this morning. My take, however, was that great one season shows can be better than the alternative. Revenge was a great show the first season and it was reduced to garbage after 4 years. At least if Forever is over this season, it goes out as a great show.
  14. I gather there was limited knowledge about the women involved. 355 is a good example. In TURN, she's a slave who is helping the people keeping her son safe. I've read that Anna Strong may not have had anything to do with Culper, especially since she had children and her husband had already fled for acts against the Crown. At this point in the show, Abe's wife is also fictitious. Peggy Shippen was really handling Benedict Arnold, but she's being played older than her age at that time.
  15. The show is so arbitrary now it doesn't matter if she's alive or dead.
  16. Madeleine Stowe would not be convicted in a court of law for the leading statements she made. I still found it dishonest and would consider it lying. It's not even about "I can't believe the show would do this!" It's that it was a stupid lie, one last twist because no one would believe Victoria was dead, even for a millisecond, unless Stowe went to interviews talking about it. It is indicative of the BS pumped out by the writers and producers for at least the last year. There are 50 other ways to frame Amanda. use one of them. Hell, Victoria could have killed Treadwell and framed Amanda for that murder. It's over now. The ending will be stupid and unsatisfying and I can go back to watching 0 shows on ABC.
  17. I knew something was going to happen with Sackett, but I just thought he might be plotting with the British. Andre used Washington's own prejudices and suspicions against him. Abe really is an idiot. It's a good thing we're close to 1778 when the real Culper Ring action begins. Ah, and now I know why I recognized the voice but not quite the face of Townsend's father. It's Phlox (John Billingsley)
  18. Emily is incapable of happiness. Even in the salad days with Dad, Emily had already been almost drowned by her mother. Amanda Clarke spent most of her life struggling, fighting and hiding her real self. I'm pretty sure there's nothing left. Happy for Emily would be seeing Victoria dead even if she had to die to make it happen.
  19. The bad thing about Madeleine Stowe lying is that it poisons the well for every other actor. Her credibility is shot. It's like when HIMYM said every theory about the mother was wrong, then it turns out some of the early theories were right. Just admit you can't fool everyone and stop confusing lying with misdirection. Nolan's total incompetence with ankle bracelets kind of put a spotlight on the fact Amanda was going to get caught. Maybe he should have cut the power from her device while it was offline? Courtney Love is pretty terrible. It would have been so awesome if White Gold were played by Michelle Pfeiffer.
  20. I guess Madeline Stowe has no personal integrity. Not only did she play Victoria long past the expiration date, but she also lied about her being dead. I hold out hope that maybe it's just someone who looks like her because I can believe this show will do anything. That was a short cameo. I guess Charlotte really is done with the Graysons and she didn't really have a baby in secret. I called David being super terminal last week. And it took me until the credits, but that was EVC's father from Everwood playing her lawyer.
  21. Some of the items in that Tallmadge story are a little off. Arnold escaped, but it wasn't exactly to misery. He just got a smaller pension than he wanted.
  22. Actually, we only know that the Norse religion is based on real aliens, not that they are true deities. To quote the Hulk, they are puny gods.
  23. Some Marvel versions of Fisk clearly separate him from The Kingpin. No one is supposed to know that the wealthy developer is the head of organized crime in Hell's Kitchen as well. That's one of the things that makes Fisk different from Matt. Davedevil is trying to stop crime and scare the criminal element into the shadows, kind of like Batman. Fisk has already said that DD is young and doesn't understand the world. He's realized that you can't get rid of crime. The only alternative is to be in charge of the heroes and the villains. He decides who can do what in his part of the city. People who turn against him find themselves the victims of the criminals he controls. Vanessa seems equally worldly. She's met men who are rich and powerful and think they can have anything they want because they can have just about anything they want. At least Fisk wants to regulate the chaos of crime by leading it. I suspect for her, Fisk is a superior man who shapes his environment through sheer will. That's what turns her on.
  24. The Graysons are terrorists. They helped and covered up the downing of a plane. I could care less that Victoria was slightly more conflicted about it than Conrad. Daniel tried to murder Emily and then we're supposed to feel bad because everyone thought he was trying to murder Emily? This is the whole problem with one season concepts that get renewed. It's Prison Break all over again. I don't even blame ABC. IF you have a show and you're out of ideas, you have to end the relationship. That's what Lost did. The creator tried to compare Revenge to Lost, but Revenge didn't know when to quit. So now they go out with a whimper and a series DVD set that will probably end up in the $1 rack at Big Lots.
  25. My problem is that the woman playing Peggy has been on "Lost Girl" for 4 seasons and I can't get past that yet.
