If I'm not mistaken Dredlock guy is the guy who went back 1000 years and started the Freelancers. I think Chen is still on the original mission, get the time line as close to it was without time travel. That means a lot of Alec's future would be rewritten. It's possible for Kiera to get her son back and fix the timeline. There's no causality out of the timeline. Keira is still there even when there's no Kiera in future 2077. What Alec should do is pluck Sam out of the future before it ends. I still have a little theory that future time travel is not possible. We've yet to see it in all the time jumps in this series.

You know what would have been a good premiere? The Doctor doesn't help kid Davros, Davros lives anyway, then thanks the Doctor for teaching him that there is no salvation other than yourself. Bam, Doctor creates Davros. Actually, it would be twice, because Four let him live in "Genesis of the Daleks."
-
We already saw the Doctor preparing to die in The Impossible Astronaut by screwing around throughout history. I guess he can't do it all the time because it would get boring. Of course, the Doctor won't die, the Daleks won't die and Davros won't die.

I really liked the kernel of the story. It's the "would you kill Hitler" argument, but Davros is such an integral part of DW history. The call back to Four was great, too. Of course, the end of "Genesis of the Daleks" was basically written that way only to keep them around for a TV show when it was obviously a net positive for the universe to destroy them. With Capaldi coming back at the end, I get the feeling Part 2 is going to be a Groundhog Day cheat where he reacts to the situation in different ways. This is one of the less sterling character traits of the Doctor. People like Davros or the Master are more important than the untold number of sentient beings killed by them.

I'm still trying to figure out which version of Stayin' Alive that was.

Hallmark has been showing the episodes with Mary, whom I truly despise. She's written to be annoying, but in theory she's supposed to be really popular with radio listeners. She doesn't convey that to me.

Is it necessary to spoiler tag in the media thread? Regardless, fresh meat is probably a good thing for the show.

I found myself hitting the mute button a few times during the episode because I could sense the cringe worthy dialogue. This finale left me pretty cold. Jeremy is the most normal person on the show, which doesn't mean he's good. Either he has to accept that he seems to make Rachel crazy or that she needs help. Obviously, he would think she needs help. He likely knows her mother is a psycho, which means what he did at the end was pretty shady. So, Quinn is actually upset that Chet was creating a new Quinn. I guess Madison can be the new Shia for now. I'm kind of lost on this show now. It got too soapy in its machinations tonight. I won't be waiting with baited breath for next season.

Joe is so visionary that he sees the world of 2010 when no one else really did, mostly because people in the 80's weren't written by writers in 2014. The should end with a 65 year old Joe looking at everyone on their iPhones and setting off a nuke because that wasn't what he actually wanted. Joe is all about having his vision implemented exactly as he wants it. When the Giant couldn't be sold with Cameron's expensive resource hog of an OS, time to burn the truck. When Westgroup goes from time sharing to vertical integration, time to blow up the servers. This show is all about Joe halting and catching stuff on fire.

Mutiny Invention of the week: Second Life. Plus, Gordon invents an anti-virus. Lazy, lazy show. They already gave up on Texas. Then again, they never really have any scenery. Joe is a temporary success again. I wonder when he burns that shit down. Boz is back and he's going to CA. And now, the show is probably cancelled.

What was Dora's "strange request?" My cable box decided to reboot during the episode.

I can definitely see it for Adam. Rachel is the Alpha dog. The other girls literally belong to her as a producer. Adam seems to be in a phase where he's challenging authority. Part of that is trying to get Rachel.
-
It may be unpopular, but I'm glad Faith is gone. She was just spinning her wheels the last couple of weeks. Anna and Grace are crazy, which makes them hilariously unpredictable. Quinn has snapped, which is making her really erratic. She may end up with Rachel's job next season.

Joe metaphorically burned down the PCs an episode early this time. So did Cameron get her revenge on WestCo with Gordon's "virus?" Also, she apparently invented Doom. Someone at HACF needs to talk to the Better Call Saul writers about a narrative arc. They even did a psychological disorder better.

From what I gather, Lardner had a hard time finding a pastor, so a gay pastor may be the ecumenical version of a bargain.

You're right. Lutherans.

Rules of Engagement will eventually suck you in, especially if you're up late and nothing else is on. Sara played a lesbian surrogate for one of the couples on the show.

UnREALity vs. Reality: How does UnREAL stack up?
ketose replied to David T. Cole's topic in UnREAL [V]
Laura Ingraham became a columnist and radio host after clerking for a Justice of the Supreme Court. The book Freakanomics was famous for citing that Black kids with "White" names would do better economically. They even had lists of "ethnic" names to avoid. I kind of think Quinn's remark about Obama barely being Black had to do with her getting Jay to stop explaining why Shamiqua had a chance. There's not really a good comeback to that except for calling the person an idiot, which is not good form when she's your boss. -
So there is potentially some kind of a supernatural redemption arc. Buddy was incredibly lucky, at the least, for an accident to kill both people who were planning to kill him but not kill him in the trunk. Of course, if he decides to stay, how long will he be a fish out of water before it gets ridiculous. Buddy seems like a guy who would brush up a little on what a pastor does. Is the thing about Episcopalians not praying for the souls of the dead a real thing?

I'm not on board with all the Faith and Adam TV-shipping. Everlasting is already reaching "Joe Millionaire" levels of unsustainability. I know UnReal is about behind the scenes manipulation, but the show within a show is starting to look unwatchable. How would they do a spin-off with a closeted love interest?
-
She made her choice. She didn't want to be out with Faith, so I don't think there should be any expectations. Besides, Faith seems incapable of even faking attraction to Adam. If Rachel is playing Adam, she's trying to use his hero instinct against him. His sex tape adventures are publicized, but Rachel's (with Jeremy) was on a much lower scale. Although if she is playing him, I think Adam will find out at some point, like after the wedding.

This show seems to shift between an "insider" view of reality shows and being an actual soap opera. This episode felt super soapy. We also learn that yes, Rachel did know about Gace's claustrophobia. The funny part about those spa dates is that the kind of selective editing that must have been used again reminds me of "Who Wants to Marry Ryan Banks?" I knew as soon as that PA talked to Chet, she'd end up giving him a Grace. Most of this episode was about wanting what you can't have or not wanting what you do have. Chet has Quinn, but he wants more. Jeremy wants Rachel and she doesn't want him. Adam wants Rachel and rachel wants a show. Apparently, Chet's wife wanted to trap him with a flipper baby.

So the one guy is named Bode. Is that a nod to Real Genius?

Limbo - how low can they go? I caught the shout-out to "The Last Starfighter." That movie kicked ass, but in no way did it look like reality. I wasn't sure what MDMA was, but I was right about it being Ecstasy. Except, now I guess they call it Molly. I wasn't sure how far Joe was going to go because that stuff usually causes impotence. Was Cameron writing games for C64 in C? Is that even right? I kind of figured they would try to steal the concept. I just can't believe they stole the company. How does that even work? I think everyone should move to CA and join the real computer revolution. They may have a magic cure for Gordon there.

The phobia thing reminds me of Fear Factor. Early on, they made people face "fears" like heights and small spaces. Those shows were too boring, so they eventually just made people eat pig anuses. Your average fame whore has no fear except not being on TV.
