    S01.E01: Pilot

We don't need to add Angela Bassett to this. She stopped aging in the 90s. So, it goes without saying. Pilot issues as usual. I judge pilots on a huge curve. I enjoyed the show. Some interesting calls. My biggest gripe is that fucking Rockmund Dunbar is never the lead on anything and he is one of the best actors out there. Soul Food, Prison Break, Terriers, Sons of Anarchy. He always kills it but he's also somehow always one of the lower billed stars minus soul food.
  2. Candace and Cody had a bet on who would be able to sleep with the friend (Katrina) between Gus and Jerimiah. Those two had nothing to do with said bet. There wasn't even really a bet. It was just Candace and Cody saying that I bet one is going to get lucky or the other. Cody flippantly said this Nilsa. Nilsa made it whole thing because she made it into the guys and everyone making wager on her friends vagina. She told her friend and her friend went on to act like she had been assaulted. Not to make light of sexual assault but you would have thought this is what happened. Cody went around in a half assed way denyng everything and not saying that he made a bet with someone else and that's it. So, Jerimiah just assumes that Gus is behind all of this. All these people are dumb.
  3. Well Brie did say she lost all but 14 pounds of her pregnancy weight gain so she didn't have much left to lose. But, being surrounded by toned bodies like that won't help your insecurities. Also, in a world where bad girls club exists, none of this surprises me. Also, Lana and Nattie are literally the two most emotionally immature cast members by far.
  4. I didn't realize the sexual harrassment sketch was going to be a issue but I should of known. I didn't see anything wrong with it. But, I didn't take it the way others did. At the end of the day, harrassment can come from different areas but it will never read the same for everybody. It could be because of your relationship with the person or many other factors. To one person, what Kenan was doing is harassment. For others, he was just that lovable old coot that no one takes seriously in the office. He's just being him. For me, it was just the comedy of one getting a pass over the other but just using extreme contrast for comedic effect. There is also the power element. Franco is their boss so what he says and does has a heightened importance. It's not to say that what Kenan does is okay, it's just perceived differently by others because of their relationship with him and the circumstances. I know plenty of people I can joke around with in the same way. I don't mean harrassing. But, just joking with someone. Some people you can do certain types of jokes with and some you have to censor yourself. There are lots of reasons for that which makes all of this extremely complicated. I just think some people aren't ready to laugh at this at all. I did just because the absurd contrast was so ridiculous.
  5. I'm still trying to figure out why the term filler is used for shows with no over arching plots. It's a sitcom. They aren't working towards anything. It's just another bunch of days in their life. No forward momentum was stopped to stretch time. Good episode overall. Veered a little too close to Dre at his worse but I liked the resolution. I hope wherever Junior goes for college it's nearby. He would be too big of a loss for the show.
  6. I think what happens is that by the end of the season, they have enough information to do deductive reasoning. Even the failure last year was because of a two couple screw up. It could almost always go the other way with one false move.
  7. It doesn't have to be set up by production. They chose young people that aren't interested in actually changing. They just do what they always do and learn nothing maybe until they get older. They aren't looking for mature sensible people. Eh. They got a little money they will blow through in months. At least it was overall entertaining. I think there has been one or maybe two legitimate love stories to comes out of this show in six seasons. That let's me to know to never take it too seriously. None of these people are truly ready for a mature relationship. Maybe they shouldn't be at their age but being more mature in general would be nice. I see e money is (Evan) is on wild n out as cast member now on MTV so good for him. He actually used this to get a real job. People from that show often good jobs elsewhere. Hosting gigs, Saturday night live, movies, tv, etc, big YouTube followings, etc.
  8. They just had a reunion last year and they've had reunions before. They don't do the weekly post show stuff anymore but they stopped that all around. Challenge and real world as well. We got your post. Yes, there are ways to work it out. It can be done. It's just not as easy is all.
  9. What the fuck is up with all the blue hair? Chicken noodle soup had fake ass blue hair past her ass. It looks ridiculous. That whole thing with the dog and the previews for next week are high comedy.
  10. Well you are in the majority. I just don't agree. He works for the character but I find nothing versatile about him.
  11. I remain perplexed by the constant bashing of Duncan/Teddy Dunn. I know it may be partially just in comparison to his much better actors but he's really not that bad. I wasn't even aware Teddy was this highly mocked until I started listening to podcasts. He's fine to me. Not great but not bad either. Growing up in a world with many blocks of wood playing teen dudes or hunks in primetime soaps and high school set shows, he barely registers to me. Dohring stands out more to me as someone who gets praised constantly but I see nothing special in him. Fast forward to iZombie and you see he can't go to more than one mode in acting. It's all the same. He's a likeable guy to me but meh as actor most of the time.
  12. Yep. They are not allowed to write down or use objects to calculate or make a strategy. It's a lot easier doing it from home.
  13. Wait. Erica is a singer? I hadn't noticed. They've been so subtle with her "talents".
  14. I do in the sense that they literally matched people up based on what they said. But, it's a want vs a need. They are looking for what they want. All of the shallow properties. But, there matches are what they need. Like Tyler and Nicole. She's needs a guy that will listen and respect her. Not treat her like dirt. He needs a girl that opens him up and challenges him more but also appreciates his kindness. Look for people that balance you out. Not just what you always go for or on some shallow shit. Of course, there will still be stumbling blocks along the way but it's better than just glomming onto someone that you were drawn too and told you what you want to hear upon first meeting.
  15. I'm so happy I don't have to hear Randall say LL Cool K anymore. God, he is such a dork.
  16. All it's telling is that you don't know certain people. Doesn't make them any less of a celebrity. It's just someone you don't know. I wouldn't expect anything else anyway. It's a mtv reality show. It's a reality show in general. Which means the celebs they get will be often drawn from very specific pockets of the industry. They aren't going to do much better than that. Any genuine celeb doesn't need this.
  17. I never need to see the post mouth blown off make up for Papa Riggs again. I watch horror movies all the time but that shit is gross.
  18. I don't like to call racism too much or for every slight. But, that flavor of love dig was some bullshit. Basically labeling her as some rachet hoe. Anyone else, he would have or could have just asked where you are from. No one outside of wrestling fans would no so it wouldn't be out of line.
  19. They already covered this on this season so they issues should have been clear. I know season was like a year long but that was one of few interesting developments that came out of it all.
  20. Riff Raff is a rapper but mostly a joke. He's harmless. Wild n out is headed towards it's tenth season, has spawned multiple stars that have went on to snl and other places, it's ratings are so good that they took it off mtv2 and put it back on mtv and their clips average over a million views on YouTube. WWE has millions of viewers weekly. It's the biggest thing the USA network by a wide margin. The female wrestler on here barely got any screen time and spent more time on their reality show that follows female wrestlers in the company. You shouldn't know her. But, if you know the "big" names than wrestling isn't really something you get. Nothing wrong with that.
  21. Of course Kenny Rogers loved the book because Jessica is always great and always right at the end of the day. Fuck outta here. Jessica alone is about to make me stop watching. And props to Grandma for shutting down the entrance. I know she said she's not a prop but I like to think that she loves that it's her and Eddie's thing.
  22. Lennon was on last night's episode of ghosted on fox. She's basically a passive aggressiveness office manager for people who inspect the paranormal. She was funny as always.
  23. Eh. Pete has always enjoyed a lack of filter. Far before the show. He's going to push people's buttons at some point.
  24. Apparently, there was a rumor going on last week that mtv had cancelled the show. It's been debunked for now by certain people involved in the show but it may actually be in trouble.
