  1. New blog post on Anna Marie: Anna Marie Headed to Washington We want to share an update on Anna Marie’s journey. Plans have fallen into place very quickly, and Anna Marie will write at some point. This morning, she and baby Simon Peter will fly to Seattle. She’ll get her first dose of chemo yet this week and undergo weekly chemo treatments for about 12 weeks. Please pray for the entire family and please also lift up her health and protection with the pandemic going on. Back on the home front, Mom, Anna, and Mary will help Christopher with the other kiddos. Love, Sarah And this from Teri in the comments: Anna Marie is flying home with her sister who has been here for several weeks. It is a huge blessing that Anna Marie’s family only lives 45 minutes or so from where she will receive her treatment so she will stay with them. That means lots of great help with the baby from Anna Marie’s parents and sister and care for Anna Marie, if she isn’t feeling well after the chemo. I'm sure if this was normal, legitimate chemo she would be treated in-state (Kansas). Or she would be going to some place with a well-established reputation like Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Meanwhile, Teri and her daughters Anna and Mary are breaking social distancing to help with the family. It would be better if either Anna or Mary or both moved in (for the time being) and social distanced from Steve and Teri. On the other hand, it sounds like Anna Marie will miss Jesse's wedding, unless she plans to fly back for it!
  2. George Carlin did a rant on germs that included a part where he makes jokes about a deadly virus that kills people. Someone just posted it to social media. I watched it not knowing what it was like. I don't how to respond. What's the point of having a big extended family if enough of them are jerks? Any advice about what to do.
  3. Yes she had a stroke in utero and as SewSumi notes Janessa has been miraculously healed by God. Also the doctors were wrong and they don't know anything in Jill's opinion. Jill seems too defensive imo. She wants to believe that there are no long terms effects. I hope for Janessa's sake, Janessa is okay.
  4. Israel was a few months younger than Felicity when Jill started going on about she didn't want him to think he was the center of the whole world and how he needed to learn not everything was about him. I remember thinking that seemed very severe for child under two years old. And other people commented that at that age it was normal and even right for kid to be the apple of their parents' eyes. I don't know what Felicity will be like when she is older, but at 21 months, she is still developing. Most children enjoy younger siblings until they are too many of them and they either lose almost all of their parents attention or have to help raise the younger ones as well.
  5. The dress does blend into the grass, but actually she looks great. That dress and shoes don't look that fancy to me.
  6. This part of Lauren's message makes my spidey-sense tingle. "I know a lot of us can’t go to church or spend this day with the ones we love like we wish to." No one in the USA should be going to church today that I know of. It could be just away to placate their non-social distancing friends, but it sounds like maybe they did go somewhere. There were recent pictures of them at the TTH so they broke quarantine once.
  7. @Jeeves There are two different counties in OK hit by this? Could you remind us of which is which?
  8. Dear God, I hope by July things are better than they are now! I'm hoping we won't have to social distance as much.
  9. Duggar family friend Kristen Nicole Young posted pictures of herself at a wedding in Hot Springs Arkansas. It was within the last two weeks. It's on Instagram as a normal post. She says they "social distanced" but she's clearly standing next to the bride and the groom. Who knows how many people took pictures with the bride and groom? Also this may be mean, but Kristen went dressed like an old timey opera singer lounging in her dressing room. I get she likes the boho look, but she's underdressed for a wedding.
  10. I'm actually hoping Nurie is able to get married in July. I want to see her escape from Jill and David and move in with Nathan. Jill's house is too small for the number of people living in it.
  11. I want to say that I have no idea if Ed's and Rose's relationship is real or not. Or if they are together or not. I have said this before, but I think Ed should have gotten his vasectomy before he met Rose. If he doesn't want kids, he could have taken care of it years ago. I think Ed may want to have a baby, but he's saying he doesn't to get out of parenting responsibilities like changing diapers. "Since having a kid was your idea, you change the diapers." I hope this is a shomance, and Ed and Rose don't have babies together.
  12. I can't tell if these ratings good or bad.
  13. Phillip will marry one of John Shrader's daughters when he grows up, since both John and Phillip have a heart for poetry.
  14. Ma and Pa are on tv front and center of their children's show.
  15. I tried IG, but I have no idea how to use it.
  16. If I thought the restaurant was unsafe, I wouldn't buy anything. I haven't seen the video, but some fastfood places have very tight behind the counter spaces that would make 6 feet apart very hard. That's especially true of every Dunkin Donuts I've ever been in. Off-Topic: The drive through line at D &D in my hometown is crazy. I bet the employees aren't 6 feet apart all the time given how hectic rushhour is. I haven't eaten there, but it's near the supermarket. Sh*t! I hope it's not making people sick. Maybe the fastfood workers feel, because they're around each other so much, they will probably get sick if anyone else who works does. Also if one employee comes down with COVID, they should probably close the restaurant for a while. COVID can live on surfaces for few days. I wouldn't want to order food at some place where someone had the virus. I guess they should take the 6 feet diligently. I can't find the video, but I hope they're not mocking people making their food.
  17. And I grew up with a large extended family and think it's normal not to acknowledge everyone's birthday. I also know that someone can aknowledge other people's birthdays and be an incredibly manipulative, damaging person to know. The truth about large families is that people grow up form their families and grow apart. That's normal. Not everyone is close to their siblings. In the Duggars world, they were forced to pretend that they were best friends with all their siblings, because that is a teaching of Gothard. Sometimes all that pressure to be friends poisons the well for real friendships to form. As for kids, it's hard to say how much any of these kids understand about the current situation. The Dillards did get out a little more, but probably life is pretty close to normal. The Seewalds do seem more isolated and yes they seem like the another generation of this family/group/lifestyle/cult. They used to go visit the TTH more and church on Sundays, but life probably seems close to normal.
  18. The Maxwells seem to have the same definition of social distancing as the Rods. They're not hosting their sons/daughters-in-law/grandchildren, but as long as they're outside Mary and Anna can be up close with the grandchildren. Steve's latest columns for his Seriously series are about the virus. The Maxwells are happy that kids and families are home together, but Steve is disappointed they're playing video games, watching television, etc. Steve says coronavirus is the perfect opportunity to get rid of your television. The next article is about how God is good, even when times are bad. Good! We may need you to bust up the Maxwell wedding that maybe in Ohio. It's scheduled for May 23rd. Nurie and Nathan's date is July.
  19. The piano teacher looks young. Maybe she become a bride for one of the J boys and JB and Michelle will support her for life or at least until the money runs out.
  20. I swear I saw something in January where they extended their stay. Anyway now might not be the Christian time to evict people.
  21. I still think it's unreasonable. I think having three kids under five leaves with less time than you think. Her kids can learn to think about others from interactions as siblings. I would hope that they learn to think about people who aren't family, but that's asking a lot from fundies.
  22. It's most likely Tori. Gil Bates didn't allow then 15/16 year old Josie to date 19/20 year old Kelton. Evan is only a month a younger than Kelton. When he was 18, Josie would be about 14 and Katie would be 13. Technically when Evan turned 18, Katie was 12! Alyssa is also a strong possibility, but she was probably already interested or courting John. Erin was getting ready to marry Chad. Erin and Michael would probably seem too old for Evan in the fundie world.
  23. It's still unreasonable to think Jessa would do this for every single niece and nephew! She has 14 nieces and nephews and counting!
  24. Last we heard the move was postponed. It could be further postponed due to quarantine.
