Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp
Temperance replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
It (Joy's wedding) hit E NEWS Tonight. It was very brief. They mentioned details will be in People on Friday. It included both Joy (Austin) and Joe (Kendra). Very quick. Went on to talk about Honey Boo Boo's mom's weightloss and then Zach Roloff's baby. (All very brief.) -

One of my friends made her bridesmaids wear the same shoes, which made me glad I wasn't a bridesmaid as those shoes were ugly. We know Sierra was a bridesmaid, but that is a lot of young women to be bridemaids just from the family. Look at how Jinger is standing behind Jill. She either wants people to take a guess or surprise people later with an announcement that she's pregnant. -
She was approaching the classic Syllogism: "All men are mortal. Socrates is a man. Therefore Socrates is mortal." "I love Jeremy. Jeremy loves books. Now I love books." To truly work her major premise (the first statement) should be: I love Jeremy and what he loves." I don't really agree most of this, but it's an interesting theory that Jeremy is a lot like Jessa. It makes sense seeing how much Jessa meant to her.

It looks like there were some other older girls. The girl in the black jacket and the girl in green look like they are at least in their teens or maybe even twenties. I think we seen the one in the black jacket before, but I don't really remember. At least Jana had some help today. -

Kendra and Joe got engaged at Joy's wedding. Kendra is even younger. -

They have to make the money last for when they have 100 people and counting and no TLC money coming in. -
They have never disapproved of chess. One of the twins (boys) plays. I doubt she is playing in that picture. More like looking at the board. Depending on how soon to their flight she may not have time to play chess (which ime takes a long time). I wonder if they posted an old picture where she isn't pregnant to throw fans off the scent that she is (which she may or may not be). I get the feeling JinJer likes playing games with their fans.

That's not Michelle with Josie? Who is it? Anything they didn't get could be purchased later. Especially if people wanted to get them stuff and didn't know when the wedding was. -
Michelle was jealous of Jim Bob's past. I read on some forum that he had a crush on a girl named Julie, and that's why there are no Juli-names in the Duggar family. No Julia, Julie, Julius, Julian, Juliet, etc.

Seriously my jaw just dropped. They officially started courting in March. Conveniently right after she turned 18. Free Jinger suspected a courtship while she was 17. (If true they waited to announce, because of Josiah's cancelled courtship and because Joseph is 22.) In Catholicism (also known as heathenism), we stress the importance of really taking the time to get to someone before getting married. Of course we also tend to stress maturity at least in my neck of the woods. The courtship announcement was made March 7 this year. That's less than 3 months. (None of the courtship has been on tv yet either.) The color of the dress is a nice touch, as it reminds me of both Kate Middleton (right after she got engaged to Will) and the Virgin Mary. In the good ole days, the Duggars are trying to bring back, people would be saying "Why the rush?"

My guess is that Jinger had her make-up professionally done. What depressed me is People already had a story tagged with the word Babies (one of their regular sections) about them. It quoted her as saying "I can't wait to be a mom." She sounds just like the sister who was her buddy Jill. I don't remember either Jessa or Jinger saying that to that effect when they got married. (I don't think the blind item was true however.) The Mrs. Austin Forsyth thing doesn't surprise me. I've seen other conservative young women do it. Nineteen seems really young to me. Twenty-three not so much. -

You're probably right. It looked short to me. -

That's a nice haircut on Jana if that's a recent preview. -
I like the dress. If she's buying Lularoe, then she's trying to look hip. I'm a casual dresser myself, so I don't really care too much about clothes. Very strong resemblence to Jessa in that photo.

He married Jinger. That you could mistake her for Joy says a lot about both of them. I agree about Derick especially with his mom so sick. Then again Jeremy is an only child. John David was joking about that.

The robo dobermans are throw back to when Kreiger's origins were first discussed. Kreiger (Stage two, episode 2.8) says his pet dobermans "ate his father" on his twelth birthday. Charlotte's obsession with toast reminded me of Milton. I was trying to see how the season would play out, but wow, that was... I know I'm in the minority, but we haven't had a good season finale since Archer Vice. Season 6 was cute, but didn't make much sense. Season 7 was depressing. Season 8 was somehow more depressing. I watch this show for light-hearted entertainment. Every moment doesn't have to be funny, but it would be nice to have more levity especially with the world so dark.

I tend to think his parents were too religious for him to be living that life. They were/are religious conservatives who homeschooled a big family. Even if he wasn't married to a Duggar, he'd probably be in church on Sunday morning.

Phil McCracken was the name Ray had on his fingerprint card in the police station. It's also the name Archer gave Slater in the Archer Vice episode where they met Slater (first time ever) out in the jungle. In that episode, they didn't know who Slater was and Archer said that Ray and Cyril were McCracken brothers: Phil and Odie. Then both Ray and Archer told Cyril "Odie, hush!"

I think Jill on some level didn't mind rushing into parenthood as much as Derrick. I get the feeling he had never really spent much time around kids and especially little kids before becoming his son was born. He also probably didn't have a lot of experience with women. I think he really wishes they had had more time just the two of them, even though they spend a lot of time together anyway. I think Jill's the one who wanted to have kids ASAP. I like the hippie look (and hippies in general), but think Derrick looks healthier which is good. Jill is probably relieved to get home considering how close she is to having a baby and that makes sense.

S42.E21: Dwayne Johnson / Katy Perry

When I finished watching, I felt a little disappointed by the episode. Mainly because a lot of it I didn't remember a lot of it (I was tired) until reading the recaps. I thought it was stronger before (and during) weekend update. Hurray for Bobby and Vanessa getting the send off they deserved and yes I could have done with more good-byes. I loved the rap song that was just one big long fabulous introduction. I forgot David S. Pumpkins showed up and I loved the original sketch. It kind-of spoils David S. Pumpkins (the original, where Beck and Kate couldn't place him) that now people will now him from that Big Chris song. I guess it's like Star Wars where you have to kids watch them in the order they were released (so they don't already know Darth Vader is Luke's father.) The weekend update guys showing up again out of the desk as "two black guyz" and Big Chris going "Bad name" was cute. (Also one of my favorite Bobby memories was his role as one of the beat-boy skeletons along with Jost.) I wasn't as fond of the cold open as some, but I did see it as possible foreshadowing of will we still have the same people in office/power? I also caught the moment when Alec lifted his hands and the piano played on. The Xentrex commercial was awesome, because there are so many ED ads on all the time. Maybe because I watch the news? I liked the fidget spinner ads. They drive my teacher friends nuts. I have close friends with ADHD. The joke was more about the woman than the spinner anyway. I felt like some of the later sketches particularly the graduation one felt unfinished. My favorite sketch of the night was the was monologue. I ready for Johnson (such a presidential name!) and Hanks 2020. Come on, let's make america nice again! -
She's due sometime in July, which means they're only home two months before the birth.
