I think Joy is in purple, Jinger in blue and apparently the bridesmaids are the rainbow minus Indigo. (Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple.)

TDS 3.0: Season Two Talk
Temperance replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in The Daily Show With Trevor Noah (2015-2022)
The full interview with Charlize Theron is worth watching. They talk a lot. Not much more about the movie, but about a lot of different things, especially South Africa. I keep seeing people saying I want to know more about Africa/South Africa. If you feel like this, it's your chance to watch two South Africans talk about things. They do talk about the movie and whatnot, but I really enjoyed the full interview. -
Peace and acceptance are political concepts.

I had a dream once where some friends of mine got cats and they were named after the Bewitched characters! Tabitha, Endora, Darren, and Larry Tate! They all seem like great cat names! (So do Adam, Samantha, Maurice, and Arthur, but in my dream there were only four cats.)

I have noticed that as long as couple has at least 4+ kids, some people will make the assumption they only use NFP. Several people I know fall into that category, but used more than natural planning to avoid having even more children. I too would think 8-10 kids (at least) if the person married as young as 21. Part of it is that some couples (and women) can have babies around 40. A lot of the people I know who try to do NFP try to settle down later in life.

There's a translation issue though. It doesn't make you biblically illiterate if the wording is not in your version of the bible. It's not King James Bible, and it's not NIV which is the standard go to version on the site Bible Gateway where I get my biblical information. I also don't remember the Catholic church using this text (YMMV). If you go to biblegateway, you can keep switching translations until you find. (It took me at least five.) As long as we aren't reading it in the original language, there will be different translations that take passages in very different directions. "Cosmic powers" is very sci-fi sounding to me, but seems to be a valid interpetation. From biblegateway here is the text from the King James, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

It also may have to do with what age they get married. But no, most of the people I know who left it up to God have more than four kids.

This makes me angrier than anything else recently in the Duggar verse. As others have and will point out, he's a reality star with "non-reality" lifestyle. (That they can have a big house, nice cars, travel as much as they as want without having to do much, etc.) That being said there was a great article in New York magazine about a mixed martial arts star/boxer. They said "When you have you nothing to sell, ...sell the hate." That being said Derick should watch it. He and Jill seem to me the least popular after Josh. I saw a video on youtube someone had put together about "Duggar scandals" months ago. The beginning was all about Josh and maybe Michelle's robo calls. Then it talked about Derick and Jill and their mission work etc. The FRC is still there, maybe he wants Josh's old job.

Or someone on the Dillard side?

You could be right. Alternative theories though: She could just have gained some weight, considering how skinny she was. It would be noticable and not a bad thing. My mother told me a lot of people gain weight when they get married. Especially since she eats different food now.

This is surprising that Seewalds are so moderate, because I always pictured them as fundie-lite and I guess that mean different things to different people. I'm less surprised they wear pants or shorts, but those short shorts are surprising. Then again I seem to recall Jessica is not that much younger than Ben and may be old enough to pick out her clothes, tv, etc. Ben, I think, wants to seem like a grow-up and feels more grown-up when his parents aren't around. JB and Michelle probably encourage him to see less of his parent.

@queenanne I was just going to say that. Yes, I knew the Duggars got the pork thing from Gothard. After all he based his group on moden day Orthodox Judaism. And yes, even before they married the girls started wearing shorter skirts. It seems the Duggars have been moving away from Gothardism for awhile, although not necessarily more mainstream.

When they were near DC and trying to eat healthy, I think Anna made salmon.

I will say Jill looks good and it's Jill I've been somewhat concerned about. The last picture they posted of the baby he looked good too. I think for the most part things are fine. Although Derrick does look really thin, but I'm taking this as a sign things are progressing with the rest of the family in a good way.

No Joy got a big article on her wedding. It was a couple pages. One of their Instagram accounts or their followers instagram accounts posted it. I read it (in the store). It mentioned paper airplanes and argyle socks. She didn't however make the cover, not even in the big sidebar. Interesting Jennifer Gardiner didn't authorize the article. I saw another interview I thought was unauthorized.

I think Derick sees quite a bit of his mother and family. I don't where Dan and his wife are, but they may not live close. Both guys live closer to the in-laws so they see more of them. Plus their wives always want to see the family.

People is waiting for a slow news week when there is nothing more interesting or trendier to cover. (Example: Everyone is talking about Princess Diana this week and she has the cover of People.) The Dillards are ready, but People isn't. Especially if it means giving them the cover or even a segment of the cover. Somebody at People has the Duggar beat and watches the show and just realised that JB and Michelle want to have 95 if not 100 if not 200 grandbabies. And they start thinking "And Dear God! Did we really agree to cover each and every one of them? And make them the cover of the magazine? Even if it's only 50 grandkids that's still a lot! We got stop covering it every time somebody gives birth." Jinjer might get a cover if they make it to a year and no baby. Also I could see the 10th, 20th, etc. grandchild being a bigger deal.

I disagree that Lawon is terrible. He's average, probably a little better than average. He sounds fine to me.The problem is there are so many people who are just as good as he is. The song itself is annoying (not sure anyone make it sound great). I'm a little defrauded by his arms. Also noticed the non-Gothard clothes on the girl.

In the Catholic church, Jill's current verse quoted above is read every Christmas morning (not the midnight mass). (It's the third reading of that service.) I recognized it as the first chapter of John. I've heard it frequently quoted. someone I knew used to quote in Latin or Greek (whatever the original language was).

How can Ben not be paid for appearing on the show? This site is not exactly credible. On the other hand, that filming is their only source of income isn't surprsing. Also Joy and Austin seem more together than Ben and Jessa, but they're newlyweds with no small children yet.
