  1. I will be off the internet for a few days. Best of wishes to you all! I will be thinking about those of you with Puerto Rican family members. Anyway, every time I'm off the internet the Duggars seem to make some sort of news/announcement, etc. So I look forward to finding out what (if anything) happened while I'm off-line.
  2. I also want to point out there are 19 kids and any Duggar couple is pretty much interchangable with another. So if the show wants to focus on Ben and Jessa, Jinjer, Joy and Austin, and Joe and Kendra, they can. And that's just with the couples they have now.
  3. I think they've been drifting away from Gothardism for a while. It would take awhile to list, but if you learn about Gothard and what he preaches you'll see they've been drifting away for awhile now. Just contrast middle to early years of 19 K & C with the last couple seasons of 19 K&C and Counting On.
  4. I wonder if there are some rules about landing on PR. They don't want a million private planes landing at once. It seems possible that whoever is overseeing PR doesn't want people to land whereever. They could be instructing private citizens bringing supplies to land somewhere else and wait until they have clearance to land in San Juan. (no official knowledge; just speculating)
  5. Another reason this might be true is sometimes the hospital becomes a retreat from the outside and the outside stresses. So the people get better since they're not dealing with the stress of their lives and they come home and have to face all their problems.
  6. So excited about Robin Thede! She was on the Daily Show looking like a black Mary Tyler Moore promoting her new show! So happy!
  7. Robin Thede looking like a black Mary Tyler Moore brought me such joy and she's getting her own show! Loved the interview!
  8. Oh Marigold, I'm so sorry. Without knowing the specifics it's hard to say, but my best guess is no. I've been here with some friends so I have a little personal knowledge, but no professional knowledge. First of all there is a shortage of mental health facilities in this country. So most places have to turn over beds eventually, especially if the place is intended for short term care. Secondly, he probably was in a better place (emotionally) while receiving support services. A lot of people like this don't have consistent moods. So he was feeling good when he came home and something changed. Third since he seemed to be in a better place, the clinicians had no choice but to release him for variety of reasons. As stated above, he could be lying with no way for anyone to tell. OR the clinicians thought he was genuinely stable enough to be on his own with outside support and he himself also believed he was strong enough. Or his insurance said since the problem is being dealt with and you can't tell if he's not okay, then you need to release him 'cause we ain't paying. The facility should have made sure he had a counselor, someone to talk to about his issues and helped make a plan for continuing treatment. As long as they did that and did the best they could to ascertain his mental status, the facility won't be liable. I have friends on the psychology side and they would be devastated. I liked that Dear Abby told a mother that she could tell her kids her relative who comitted suicide died, because he was sick. Later when they were old enough to understand, she could tell them that explain how that sickness was mental illness. It is a sickness and one that is difficult to treat. I have lost one friend and I have too many friends who've lost friends of their own. So sorry.
  9. I don't want her to get married unless she wants to.
  10. It's a tweet that stays around indefinitely and is the first tweet people see when they come to your profile/page. People who are celebrities, even minor ones, usually tag something they want their fans to engage with or go out and buy or watch or be able to enjoy. (Basically usually self-promotion) For example, an author will pin a tweet that says "My latest book is out and available where books are sold." A musical artist might pin"My latest album/single/tour is announced and you can go and get it/tickets." A TV star might pin a tweet like "The new season of the show airs on this network on this night on this time."
  11. If you're right, your friend seems smart and practical, the Duggars should do this as they bring back #Josh. Then if #Josh messes up again...
  12. I think they picked Greece, because TLC hasn't filmed a honeymoon for this crew there yet. As long as the show is on and Duggars keep getting married TLC will find new places to spend their honeymoon. @beagletime I think that's Jim. He was on a VSE of 19 K & C where they introduced the people, who film the Duggars. This VSE aired the same year the Josh scandals broke.
  13. I don't see this as much JB and Michelle, but I could see Kelly and Gil being like this (and other fundie families as well).
  14. Both Jessa and Joy look smaller on the stage. The lighting is so bad, I had to look twice to recognize Austin's sister whose hair looked brighter red at the wedding. I think it's the lighting; several people I know have the same color and it looks a lot more red depending on the lights. I think it is her natural color (like the people I know).
  15. Although I'm not sure she didn't reject them first. It's possible JB asked if she wanted to get to know one of them (in preparation for a courtship) and she said no.
  16. Maybe he is interested in someone else..... But fundies don't look at other women that way. The constant need for accountibility partners, the I-can't-have-dinner-with-someone-who-isn't-my-wife, the can't-work-too-closely-with-women, etc. A young fundie girl isn't going to be amused although she will see him as more manly and desirable. She's going to be jealous and possessive. She has been taught to see other women as a threat to her relationship/future marriage. Jana becomes a threat for being in the same room with the guy. A " Jana is a wonderful, lovely woman and any guy would be lucky to have her" statement would make his theoretical gal even more suspicious and upset. So if he is in the relationship, it might contribute to the adamant denial, but not the emojis. (See my earlier post.)
  17. I don't remember, but I wasn't as bothered by Jon Hari's post. This guy is a jerk. What bothers me most (I don't mind the sentence in capital letters: he has a right to be angry with the media/fans) is the f***ing Tears of Joy emoji. Tears of Joy (the stupid crying smiley face) is supposed to convey you're laughing so hard you're crying. But it's not a proposal of marriage kind of laughter it's a laughing AT someone else and often at times when someone is dealing with something painful. (Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you walk into an open sewer and die. Mel Brooks) Someone at The Guardian actually wrote an article about Tears of Joy emoji. They describe it as "gloating". I wouldn't be surprised if this Wilson actually wanted to court Jana, and she rejected. Good! She deserves better than this.
  18. Just read an article about crazy old Jim Bakker. He's still selling the food buckets, and preparing for the end of the world. Apparently he's ramping up the Apocalypse talk. Trying to save people from Cannibalism and their "useless money". (Obviously money will be useless during the Apocalypse.) He does seem to be targeting people with some cash. One of the other hosts of his infomercial claims the buckets will be miraculously refilled if you run out. It's quite the scam.
  19. I think this time it may be legit. Not sure I really care or want her with anyone but one of them could be true. At least this time these are guys she seems to have met even if they're on the other side of the picture. Tim Tebow had never met her. I think the best for ratings would be a Jana love triangle. #JanaW?
  20. I think TLC clued them in that that sounds good. I don't think JB or Michelle ever wanted them to be in the country's military. When they were young, in the first specials or season they asked all the little boys what they wanted to be. All of them said "foreign missionaries". At this time the young boys were still children at time when other kids their age still might have picked the NFL as a top career choice (meaning I don't hold it against kids if their dreams are unrealistic.) But that many kids and they all say the same thing? The parents either told them what to say or this was the only acceptable career option in their parents' eyes that they were aware of. Of Derick was drawn to this family due to their "interest" in foreign missions.
  21. For some reason I thought it was one of Josh's daughters. Maybe one favors her Aunt Jordyn?
  22. I was at the supermarket and they had the People with Kendra's wedding.I'm not good at remembering exact quotes, but I wanted to remember what the People 1/3 of a page article said and most of it was quotes from Joe and Kendra. Also pictures of them with very little else and really showcasing no one other than Joe and Kendra. Kendra had only one quote in the article "We'll start a family as soon as the Lord gives us kids, but for now we're looking forward to spending time together and not having to say good-bye... and no chaperones." Joe said "The kiss was amazing." And it (the kiss) "surpassed his expectations."
