S09.E20: Reunion Part 2
chlban replied to Persnickety1's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
Wow. I have to give that some thought. Brandi is incredibly awful. I'll just call it a tie, but you go girl! I do have to say that I have a new respect for Shannon. I loved the way she handled herself and the fact that she just was not buying that BS "apology" from nasty Tamra. She appeared to even consider giving Heather a second chance, but not Tams. I would now actually like to see Shannon come back next year. And, of course, I want the Vickster becuase with all her endless flaws, lack of class and neediness, she is still the Vickster and the show needs her. Other than that, I vote for a clean slate. Lizzie is boring and I will never be able to forgive her for her comment to her husband on camera. Heather and Miss Terry, bye now. Take your cook, your puppies, your new hotel and Miss Terry's chin and go away. I think Tamra is done. There is just a vibe you get when you have been watching the Howives since their inception. As much as I hated Brandi I knew she would be back. But I also thought last year that Gretchi and Slimey were finished. This year, I do believe that Tams is also finished, for which I have a feeling Eddie is grateful. Run, Eddie, Run. Run far,.far away. -
S09.E19: Reunion Part 1

I'm not offended, but I do think people outside of OC probably think we all live in Coto or Newport, at least in part thanks to this show. We actually have one of the largest Asian communities in the US, the infamous Little Saigon. We also have a healthy hispanic population and definitely a strong gay population, I agree that Vicki is a narcissist, as most of these women seem to be, and that she chooses to remain ignorant because she really can't be bothered to be any other way. I was a bit surprised to read that she let her house go on a short sale. While that won't affect her credit like a straight out foreclosure would, it will prevent her from financing another home for at least 4 years. If the property was valued at a bit over $500,000 and assuming she owes more than the property is worth, quite frankly a mortgage of that size should be workable for a women with her much touted business success. I have a good friend that sells insurance in the OC and she makes a very good living, without the TV exposure that the Vickster has. It seems that the vast majority of these women really do live their lives in some smoke and mirrors Universe. I might have bought that too if she hadn't emasculated her husband on national television is what I do believe was the nastiest thing I have ever seen one of the howives, or anyone for that matter, say to a spouse. She's worried about his feelings. Yeah. That ship has sailed. -
I don't care what Heather says in her blog. I don't think she can be redeemed. There is a certain point HoWives reach where almost no one can tolerate them anymore and they are done. I think Tamra has hit the same point, for vastly different reasons. It's the point Jacqueline from NJ and Sheree from Atlanta hit. They just really have no fans left. I actually liked Heather even at the beginning of this season. But, they can spin it any way they want they were insulting "construction workers" and that is not going to be forgiven. How the hell do those two aholes think this country got built? My daddy always used to say if you are working hard and breaking no laws then any job is to be respected. Of course Daddy passed before the HoWves came to be. He might reassess that statement if he had got a load of them.

I think they are coming back a bit. I just saw some in a local store that is pretty fashionable. Leha really bugs me. I can't stand Lynn either but I feel like all this crap from Leha and the restraining order is just manufactured drama. I might buy into it if her husband wasn't a raving lunatic, but since he is... As for Leha I have said it before, but that woman is not even a 40 footer. She is, IMO, downright fugly. Not that the other wormen, with the exception of Shelly, are raving beauties, but Leha is just bad. Always having her face scrunched up in anger probably doesn't help.
-
I'm not so sure abou that, but think he'd be all over Christian in a hot minute. That, IMO is his type
-
Well she was inferring David didn't know the meaning of a word so he should look it up in a Thesaurus, so maybe that's her problem. She doesn't know the difference betwewen that and a dictionary?
-
This. Piers Morgan. I never even knew who he was until CA where I learned to hate him passionately. He won though, because he was such a sleaze and knew how to play the game, so yeah, not surprised sleazy Brandi did well. Disappointed, because I would love to see her smacked down, but not surprised.

S06.E06: The Family Business
chlban replied to featherhead's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Nothing could make me root for Melissa. Or Teresa. Or any of them with the possible exception of Dina but I have a feeling no one is going to take Dina on. She may try for Zen. but girlfriend has a true inner bitch when needed. Said with respect because my own inner bitch is well and truly intact. . Maybe Tre is not so sure she will be able to give it to Gia later. I doubt they would let her hold onto that in prison. -
All of this is true, but there is that little problem of the baby mama who completely creeps me out. Tamra is stupid white trash. Baby Mama, atleast to me, comes across as Scary white trash.
-
That was my take as well, although I hadn't thought it through enough to associate it with editing Daneille out, but that makes total sense. I just figured the season was so boring they ran out of actual footage and stuck those apologies in. As has been said, since we know that none of the apologies were actually sincere, I would suggest they just skip them next time. It really felt like the last 20 minutes or so was just filler.
-
Exactly. I have also figured out that the reason she just "loves" Vicki and Tamra is that she can always feel superior to them. Vicki calls trees by the name of a venereal diseases and Tamra is the epitome of white trash. Clearly Heather and Terry have more money than either of them, ,Vicki's awe inspiring backyard aside, so once again she can feel superior. Shannon, OTOH, scares her. Shannon knows how to conduct herself in a foreign country. She has manners and class. Things Heather never has to worry about with Tamballs and the Vickster.
-
This. I went into this season actually liking Heather. Now I would put my Heather hate only slightly less than my Tamra hate, and that is saying something. Miss Terry? There just are no words. What a complete Ass. He wants to put down a hard working man because he is in contruction? WTF is wrong with construction? I was pretty over Shannon earlier in the season, but she has won me back a bit. She does seem to have some self awareness, a trait sorely lacking on these shows, and really seems to have learned from some of her earlier mistakes. David was a total gentelman and issued a sincere apology. Miss Terry and his bitch wife were disgusting. I hate them. I also hated that Tamra is back to her old tricks. She just has to ruin her BFF's dinner party with her junior high level drama and Heather and Vicki still kiss her skank ass. Was I supposed to feel sorry for her when she was doing all that whining and fake ass crying at the end? Oh. Well I didn't. Not one bit. Also loved the fact that Eddie's comments about Heather and the Bull were every bit as bad as David's and he got a pass because he is married to the skank? Really? Vicki is, and always will be, Vicki. She is crass, loud and often annoying, but I just cannot hate her. I just wish she would kick Tamra to the curb. Personally, I find it less frustrating that she sticks with Brooks than I do that she sticks with that sleazy, lying, connivng bitch. Run Eddie. Run fast.
-
I too covet Vicki's backyard. Love it.

Ditto. Last year I made it about half way through the season. Last night I also made it about half way and decided I am out again. I do actually like Dina, but her blind loyalty to the criminals is just too much and, even aside from that, I still find the rest of the cast so reprehensible I changed over to ID. If I am going to watch criminals I would prefer that they are recognized as such, caught and punished. Not treated as if some great tragedy has befallen them. I came back to BRAVO to watch Game of Crowns, but first had to suffer through foul mouthed, sleazy Kim for a 1/2 hour first. During that I saw a preview for next weeks RHONJ. Victoria Gotti? Really? Because they just haven't covered enough sleazy, insulting New Jersey sterotypes? I have never set foot in the State of New Jersey and I am insulted. This show is just a really bad parody. -
No pun intended, but BRAVO. You said it all and hilariously so.

S06.E23: Reunion Part 3

This. I think your theory is 100% correct. Knowing what little I do of Aviva, I bet she really wanted to be BFF's with a Princess with ties to the Kennedy family. I realize the ties are thin, but since Aviva has mentioned it in interviews-as in Carole cashing in on it- I think it really does matter to her. When Carole was basically neutral to Aviva and instead became really, truly BFF's with the totally uncouth (in Aviva's crazy head) "Ghetto" talking tough girl, she was pissed. I said yesterday after reading her response to Carole's interview that Aviva is vile. The fact that she doesn't think "What Remains" was Carole's "story to tell" says everything you need to know about that evil bitch. Who the fuck was going to tell the story Aviva? Friday the dog ? Because he and Carole were pretty much the only ones left at the end of that summer, fifteen years ago, when three of the four people involved died far too long before their time. I can tolerate lots of crazy on the HoWives. Sonja and Ramona, Vicki, Kenya, hey I wasn't going to stop watching because of lunatic Kelly. But Aviva is just too evil. The crazy is not even a little entertaining. She must go. Oh and edited to add, if I had a single doubt before last night, I no longer do. Aviva is a racist. There is no longer any question in my mind what she meant about the comparison to the Atlanta Housewives. It has nothing to do with the Porsha/Kenya smack down. There has been plenty of violence on New Jersey, but Aviva had to call out the one show with an African American cast. Because, as we learned last nigh,t all African American's use foul language and if a WASP uses that language she must surely be acting "Ghetto". -

Wow. Just Wow. Even for that crazy bitch this is off the wall. Carole has definitely slipped a bit in my opinion this year, but her book was a beautiful and heartfelt memoir (the first, of course, I have not read the second). How dare Aviva question her right to write it. She was by her husbands side in his battle with Cancer for virtually the entiretly of their marriage. More close to it than his mother, sister, or anyone else. No disrespect meant to his mother or sister, as his wife she was right where she should have been but whatever else she has done, that is, IMO, to be respected. Aviva is truly vile. Truly awful. There is no reason for her on this show. I know BRAVO likes crazy and bitchy and that provides job security for the likes of Brandi, NeNe and Teresa, but even they seem to have fans. New York already has Sonja for crazy and Ramona for bitchy, they do not need this vile POS.. -

Well one of out of four being true is pretty good for Tamra. I never thought they were on the verge of getting cancelled. -
The only one I like, so far, is Shelly. She is also the prettiest, by far. I usually try not to snark on looks too much, but the entire premise of this show makes it pretty hard not to. I don't think, with the exception of Shelly, that any of these women are beauty queen pretty. As for Leha, I'm sorry but I think calling her a 40 footer is generous. I think you would require more distance than that. She honestly looks to me like a Transvestite. Her hair is god awful too. There is a very wierd dynamic with Leha and hubby. Maybe he isn't physcially abusive but there is mental abuse too. I would freak out if a man I was with spoke to other women the way he does. Especially if they were my friends.

Ramona Singer: The Turtle Time Walk of Shame
chlban replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
Unforrunately I have seen similar scenarios play out up close and personal. One was my sister, whose husband had an affair with our younger brothers wife. Yeah, that's correct, would have been a great HoWive storyline. The other was a close friend whose hubby just had a plain old affair with a co-worker. In both cases when hubbies were caught they immediately became remorseful, begged forgiveness, the whole nine yards. However the allure of the other woman proved too much. Personally, I think they both would have been happy to stay married, keep all their stuff and at least some of the respect of their children, while playing on the side. Problem is, scorned wives are a lot less trusting than those that haven't been scorned yet, so they are far more likely to get caught the second time. Of course in this case you have a low level celebrity, so you have to know the press is chasing them as well. I would suspect a similar trajectory with Mario. He probably really thought he wanted to stay. Until he did. -

Yes, I commented on that in the post above thi one you responded to.. I absolutely always blame the spouse that is cheating. However, that does not, IMO, absolve the other woman (or man as the case may be). I will sometimes give a really young girl a semi-pass for not knowing better, but cheating with a married person is never OK. -

chlban replied to LuckyBitch's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Totally agree about Dina. I also like that, with the glaring exception of Teresa, she seems to have everyone's elses number. I loved her take on Melissa stirring it and then sitting back and snickering. So true. I don't like Amber, but I cannot stand the Twins, and I hate the Gorga's and Guduices, so it doesn't take much to say Dina is my favorite, but she is. As to Jim, he is just another liar on a show full of them. I have been in the Mortgage and Banking industry for 32 years. The last few years I have worked in Compliance, meaning a big part of my job is being sure that the company follows all the regulations. I know a little bit about prosecuting mortgage fraud and they do NOT sub contract wiht owners of the mortgage company. Yes, some of the regulatory agencies have recruited people in the mortgage business to come to work for them. But, if that is the case, he would work for the CFPB, the regulatory agency that presenlty enforces mortgage fraud. He would not still be running a mortgage company becuase that would be a gigantic and unacceptable conflict of interest. He may have informed on co-workers. He may have been called to testiry against co-workers. But he is not employed by any regulatory or legal agency that enforces mortgage fraud and running a mortgage company at the same time. No way, No how. Maybe he is just to stupid to understand that informing does not make you an employee. On a side note, am i the only one that literally cringes every time I see Milania around any small animal? I was actually a little relieved that Gia found the poor dog with the chicken still in it's mouth because I know who my number 1 suspect would have been.
