I love this show. I hope that Jake is just a normal guy. So happy that the cliffhanger was NOT Morgan kidnapped and having to be rescued by her birth parents. Looking forward to another season where we can see Morgan/Annika and Michael/Astrid figure out how to co-exist. Was surprised by the cliffhanger involving her dad - although it makes sense working backwards. Looking forward to hearing about Blair's baby. I would watch anything that Nicola Walker is in.

I agree with both of you. Finished Season 2 last night and thought it was better than Season 1. I love how the detective agency (with a teenaged partner) keeps getting lots of publicity. The chemistry between Harry and Fergus is off the charts. I did miss June, the pub keeper, because a little of Glenn goes a long way.

Finished Season 1 of Harry Wild last night. (I had originally stopped watching after Episode 2 because I was not thrilled.) I found that the series improved episode by episode and I'm looking forward to starting Season2 tonight. The relationship between Harry and Fergus is great.

I like the new addition to the team. Annika continues to crack me up. I love her little asides and comments. I also love her relationship with Morgan. For me, the case is always secondary to Annika's comments to the camera and her interactions with the team and with Morgan.

Currently watching Annika Season 2 on PBS Masterpiece (Amazon) which I adore. Next up: Unforgotten Season 5

Love this show. Nicola Walker is the best. Cracked up at Morgan asking for the code word from Astrid.

Finished Candice Renoir Season 7 which was quite good and ended with a predictable cliffhanger.

I adored The Ink Black Heart. Will be very interested to see how they are going to make this book - which focused heavily on text messages - into a series. Just finished the latest in the book series - thought it was fantastic. Can easily see that adapted to the screen.

I didn't love the third series centered on magic. Never quite understood what Lucienne's past had to do with solving the mystery other than the reference to siblings. Love the coroner and I also like the female boss. Not a fan of Piet and Lena.

Is the same actress playing Lena this season as in the prior ones? She seems different to me. Agree with the above posters - the scene where Lena barges in was cringeworthy. I liked this 2-parter better than the first one.

I liked Mrs. Sidhu Investigates as well - especially since it was the pilot, which is often not great. I thought it was a bit long and draggy but I'll reserve judgment until the next episode. I love the actress and the character of Mrs. Sidhu. Looking forward to seeing how she and the Inspector develop a working relationship. Watching a fun show on MHz Choice called Crime is Her Game. It is a buddy mystery show with 2 female cops set in rural France. It is in French with subtitles. I believe there are 7 episodes altogether. Recommended.

Finished Chelsea Detective last evening. Unfortunately, episode 4 was not any better than any of the prior episodes in Season 2. The show really suffered from the replacement of DS Shamsie with the new DS Walsh. In the process, it destroyed its uniqueness. Looking forward to watching Mrs. Sidhu Investigates on Acorn. Am currently watching Van Der Valk on PBS. (It has its own topic here so I won't discuss in this thread.)

Exactly my thoughts regarding the sudden revelation of the sister. How is the audience supposed to figure out the mystery if a key piece of evidence is purposely withheld? I think that you are dead on point regarding the change in DS from Sonita Henry's character to the new DS. Priya was not just a DS - she had an interesting home life; I don't often see a detective program showing one of the female leads struggling with new motherhood. The actress was also much stronger than the one portraying the current DS. The Chelsea Detective was one of my favorite shows in Season One. It is now barely tolerable in Season Two.

Watched Episode 1 of Season 2 of The Chelsea Detective. Last year, this was one of my favorite series. I really liked the relationship between Max and Priya and thought that the supporting cast - especially the medical examiner - was quite good. For Season 2, it's only been one episode but I am not thrilled with the replacement DS so far. She is inoffensive but a big drop off in charisma from Priya. Not nearly as enamored with the show as I was last year. Hopefully the next few episodes will be better.

I have not yet watched Season 2 of The Chelsea Detective but I echo @Jeeves comments about Sonita Henry. I really liked the actress and the character. I doubt that the show will be the same without her.

Very late to the party - but what a great party it is! I binged over the last week and am so sad that it is over. (I even watched some of the YouTube videos of the cast in real life - taking on the personas of their characters.) Plan to start a re-watch soon. I loved everything about the show - especially Ma Mary. I love the scenes with Ma Mary and her family and with the girls (and James) all together. Sister Michael's expressions (and muttered comments) are terrific. I even liked Jenny -particularly when she reached out to Claire after the funeral. I could have easily watched more seasons.

Yup! Brain freeze.

I really liked Kristin. I can't recall a network show with this level of cast changes - either voluntary or forced.

Finished Granite Harbour and Ridley this weekend. Granite Harbour was terrible: bad writing, storyline which made no sense, etc.... I did like the Scottish accents, however. I had higher hopes for Ridley considering the actors involved but that was almost as bad. Finishing the final episode of Magellan tonight (MHz Choice). This has been a good series about a French police inspector. It resembles Midsomer Murders. Eagerly awaiting the next seasons of Annika, Unforgettable and Van Der Valk.

Started watching Granite Harbour on Britbox. It is set in Aberdeen, Scotland and centers on a Jamaican military policeman who joins the local police force. It's not bad - and I love the Scottish accents. There are only 3 episodes.
-
I just finished episodes 3 and 4 of Ridley. It was okay (particularly because I couldn't find anything else to watch) but nothing special. I like the relationship between Carol and her family but find Ridley himself to be a nothing. Julie Graham, who is usually great, is wasted here.

Just read that McDonald and Dodds is in production on Season 4. I love that show!

I watched the first two-part episode of Ridley on PBS Masterpiece (Amazon Video). It stars Adrian Dunbar from Line of Duty as a DI who retired after the tragic deaths of his wife and daughter. He gets called back by his former DS to help solve a cold case. The mystery itself was good and the cast was interesting. There are 3 other two -part episodes which are not yet available on PBS Masterpiece but are available if you subscribe to PBS Passport.
