I remember a woman on "Alone" who built this killer hearth just for those reasons. And yes! The shoes, the shoes... Early on, I thought production wouldn't allow it, but we have seen it done a couple of times so wth? Same with weaving blankets. Another thing I wonder about is the fish traps. They all look very small to me so you would only catch small fish. Bait? They never seem to work very well anyway.
